Swarovski is running one of their biggest line reductions in history. Many of our favorite beads here at Toocutebeads.com are on the chopping block. Even one of our most popular lines, the 5601 cube bead is being reduced by more than half the color options.

We want to try to help everyone stay ahead of this, and stock up on their favorite products. We have a PDF file of all the articles being discontinued for you to download. Looking through the list it looks like the Aurora Borealis effect is going to be all but extinct in the coming months.

How to create a Riveted ID bracelet

Using the Real Leather Crafts punch kit to create riveted bracelets is quick and easy, and has great results. See how we made these bracelets in 10 quick steps below. If you're looking for the products used in the project, head over to our online store to find them.

Step 1

You'll need to start by gathering you supplies for the project

Real Leather Crafts Leather Punch
10mm Flat Leather Strip (8 inches)
Metal Block
ID Bar
Hexagonal Screw Rivets
Hammer
Magnetic Clasp
Super New Glue

Begin by cutting your leather in half

Step 2

Now take your ID bar and loop the end of one of your pieces of leather through the opening about 3/4ths of an inch. Use a marker on your leather to indicate where you want to make your hole.

Step 3

Remove your leather from the ID bar and set it on your metal block. Line up your punch tool over the area you marked for your hole. Hold your punch tool firmly in place and hit the end with a hammer. You may have to hit the tool a few times for a nice clean punch.

Step 4

Check to make sure you've punched all the way through the leather

Step 5

Fold your leather back under your punch, and mark the area for your next punch.

Step 6

Insert your punch tool into the first hole you created to punch your second hole. You can also line your punch tool up to the markered area and create your punch.

Step 7

Now that your first leather strip is completed, you can set it on top of your second strip and use a marker to mark where you need your holes.

Step 8

Your punch holes should be pretty well line up here.

Step 9

Take your leather and run it through the center piece, fold it and insert your rivet, then screw it tightly. Repeat on the other side.

Step 10

Now you will size your bracelet to fit your wrist, then insert the glue in your clasp and place your leather in. Let dry for a few minutes and you are finished.

How to make a rivet-less rivet style bracelet!

If there is one thing I have learned in the jewelry design business, its that there is almost certainly more than 1 way to achieve the results you may be looking for with a bracelet design. Im sure not everyone is interested in purchasing a riveting tool, and messing around with hexagonal screws to create an identity bar bracelet. Today I'm going to show you how to achieve the same design concept by using a little super new glue, and some RG-1330 slider beads.

You will need a few things to get started

10 x 1.5mm Flat leather (You should get a few extra inches for this project because of the technique. Starting with 12 inches is probably best for your first try)
2 - RG-1330 spacers
A bracelet identity bar of your choice.
A Clasp for 10mm flat leather.
Sharp Scissors
Super New Glue
A pair of flat nose pliars. (it doesn't matter if they are bent or straight as long as you can get a good hold of the leather)

Begin the process by cutting your leather in half, then cutting 1 end to a point.

Slide one RG-1330 spacer onto your flat leather.

Load your identity bar onto the leather (be sure its the face is the correct way).

Flip your leather over, and load the point back through the RG-1330 Spacer. Once you have it through a bit, use your pliars to pull it nice and tight.

Drop a few drops of super new glue under the pointed part of your leather. (you can cut the point flat here for a more finished look)

Make sure its lined up evenly and let it dry for a few minutes. Repeat the whole process on the other side of the bar.

Now just size it up, and add your clasps.

Back in January we created the Modular Array Necklace Kit. This month we're brining in back, but with new colors. This one uses a combinations of the Swarovski Silver shade and Golden Shadow crystal effects to give this necklace an all new feel.

Creating this kit is easy enough for beginners... as long as you've made a pair of earrings before.

Instructions for creating this design

Take your eye pin and open the loop on the bottom, slide your chain onto the loop and then close it. Now load on your 4mm golden shadow round, your 4mm Silver Shade round then your 4mm golden shadow round. Now you will start your gallery wrap (steps 1 - 4 then stop). Add on your lobster claw and then finish your gallery wrap.
Now slide your modular beads onto the chain in this pattern: small SS, GH, SS, large SS, GS, SS, small SS, GS, SS.
You will need to determine the length you would like your necklace to lay on you and nip off any extra chain if desired shorter.
Take your other eye pin and open the loop on the bottom, slide your chain onto the loop and then close it. Now load on your 4mm Silver Shade round then your 4mm golden shadow round. Now you will start your gallery wrap (Steps 1 - 4, then stop), Add on your closed ring and then finish your gallery wrap.

Creating this design requires basic introductory jewelry making techniques. The base of the bracelet requires a knowledge of crimping, and the dangle is created with a basic wrapping technique.

Instructions for creating the base bracelet

Step 1: String 1 4mm bicone, 1 crimp tube, 1 4mm bicone, and your wire guard.

Step 2: Add your lobster claw on to your wire guard, and thread your wire back through your 4mm bicone, crimp tube. crimp tube, and 4mm bicone.

Step 3: Pull wire tightly, crimp, and add your crimp cover.

Step 4: Begin loading your beads in the order listed.

2mm Silver Bead
Silver Tube
2mm Silver Bead
4mm Bicone
3 Gemstone Squares
4mm bicone

Repeat step 4 four times.

Step 5: add a 2mm silver bead, a silver tube, a 2mm silver bead, a 4mm bicone, a crimp tune, another 4mm bicone, and your wire guard.

Step 6: Add your .925 Sterling Silver Chain to your Wire guard, and back your wire through your 4mm bicone, your crimp tube, and another 4mm bicone.

Step 7: Pull your wire tightly, crimp, then add your crimp cover.

Step 8: Pull back your excess wire and nip off.

Instructions for creating the dangle.

Step 1: Load beads on your headpin in the following order

4mm Bicone
3 Gemstone Squares
4mm Bicone

Step 2: Use your round nose pliers to create half a wrap

Step 3: Add the open wrap to your chain

Step 4: Complete your Wrap

Designing a new bracelet kit with a little Oscar Inspiration

Inspiration!

if you watched the Oscars on Sunday you may have seen the stunning bracelet worn by singer Idina Menzel. It's an eye catching piece that inspired our designer to create a new bracelet kit in the same fashion. Have a look at the image to the left to see how the original bracelet looks.

Bringing it all together!

You can see that we were able to combine Swarovski crystal, Silver findings, and a bit of creative beading to design the same style bracelet. Clear Swarovski round beads were the obvious choice to give the bracelet the desired sparkle of the original. The linking area between the ring and the bracelet is embellished with Swarovski 2 strand Navette beads. The whole bracelet kit comes to about $23.00

How to create your own (guide and materials make a 7" bracelet)

2 Feet - 0.15 Beadalon 49 strand wire

Instructions

Take your 2 feet of wire and load on your 4mm crystal rounds alternating each one with a 2mm s/s ball, repeat this until when you make a circle it is long enough to slide over your finger.

You will now bring both wires together and add a 6mm crystal round, 2mm s/s ball, 6mm crystal round, 2mm s/s ball. You want your first Navette to start right after your knuckle, depending on the length of your hand, you may need to add another 6mm crystal round, then a 2mm s/s ball.

Now separate your wires, and on each strand add a 2mm s/s ball, a Navette, 2mm s/s ball, 4mm crystal bicone, 2mm s/s ball, Navette, and repeat this pattern until you load on your last Navette.

Keeping each strand separate still, load on a 2mm s/s ball, 6mm crystal round, and repeat this 9x or until size desired, add your s/s crimp tube next and then a 4mm crystal round.

On one side load on your closed ring and run your wire back through your 4mm crystal round, s/s crimp tube, and a 6mm crystal round. On the other side load on your lobster claw and run your wire back through your 4mm crystal round, s/s crimp tube, and a 6mm crystal round.

To finish you will crimp your bracelet, put on your s/s crimp covers, and nip off the remaining wire.

Creating Earrings with Swarovski CrystalTex

Materials Needed

Approximately 6" of Swarovski CrystalTex
2 sets of pave terminals
Lever back of your choice
4 5.5mm open Jump Rings

Tools and Supplies Needed

Sharp Scissors
Iron
Bent Nose Pliers
Super New Glue

Cut your Swarovski CrystalTex into 2 Row Strips (Long ways)	Stack your 2 row strips of Swarovski Crystaltex so there are chatons on both sides. (Image above is just to show the chatons on both side)	Line your two row strips of Swarovski Crystaltex up evenly and close together.
Iron must be set on high, with a NON STEAM settingBegin Applying heat on one end, and adjusting your strips so they are even as you go.	Let your CrystalTex cool for a momemt. It should look like the image above.	Add a couple drops of super new glue into one of your terminals from the back (non-pave) side.
Slide in your CrystalTex and let it dry throughly. One dry, repeat on the other side (make sure before you glue the second terminal, the pave sides are both facing the same way)	Let the glue set. It may take a few minutes longer than it does with leather. Notice in the picture above when my CrystalTex is curved, both pave terminals face outward.	Open your 5.5mm Jump ring. (Im using a slightly larger size so I can get the pictures)
Load on your second Jump Ring.	Load on your Terminals (Pave side Out) and Close Jump Ring	Open your second jump ring, load on your lever back and close. Once done, repeart for your other earring
Nice Job, you've got a great set of earrings!

How to create gorgeous bracelets with Swarovski CrystalTex Synthetic Hotfix Chaton Banding

Design absolutely stunning bracelets by combining Swarovski Crystatex synthetic hotfix chaton banding with our huge selection of flat leather, and finishing it off with our gorgeous 2 strand and 3 strand magnetic clasps.

	To get started, you're going to need a household iron (Do not use the steam setting if there is one), and a sharp pair of scissors. To create the design in the guide we used the following products to create a 7 inch bracelet. 1 8 inch suede strip 7 inches of jet hematite 10 row Swarovski CrystalTex Synthetic Hotfix Chaton Banding 7 inches of crystal 5 row Swarovski CrystalTex Synthetic Hotfix Chaton Banding 1 20mm 925 Sterling Silver Plated Multi-Strand Magnetic Clasps - Crystal You can see the look we are creating in the image to the left.
	Our first step for this project is going to be creating two 1 row bands for the outer edges. For this, we will take our 5 row crystal banding, and using a pair of sharp sciccors cut long wise to remove 1 band of crystal. You will need to do this twice to create 2 separate 1 row bands. This will leave you with 3 rows that you can hold onto for another project.
	Once you have your banding cut, you're going to need to line up your chaton bands on your suede strip. For the first step it is important that you get your crystals lined up nice and even.
	Once you've lined up your chatons, use your hot iron to apply heat to the end of the bracelet (It will take different amount of time with different irons to melt the hotfix material, so check every 15 seconds or so to make sure you're not damaging the suede or crystals). You only need to heat up the last to few chatons to get the crystal to hold in line,
	Once your first set of crystals is lined up and hotfixed, make sure to line up your outer crystals and begin moving down the rest of your strip. You will need to pick the iron up and set it down as you go along (Do not use an ironing motion as it could damage your crystals... simply apply heat and slight pressure if needed). Continue this until you've gotten your entire hot fix banding to adhere to the suede.
	Take your hot iron, and set it over the entire piece to make sure you melt any hotfix that didn't melt during the first application.
	At this point, your crystal banding should be stuck nicely to your suede. Now, let your banding cool. It's going to be pretty hot with all that ironing
	Once cooled, you will need to pick up your banding, and use a very sharp pair of scissors to begin trimming your excess suede. Try to get it nice and clean to each side.
	Once cut, reapply your iron one last time to get your hotfix to apply to the edges of your suede
	Glue one side of your clasp onto your banding and let dry for a few minutes.
	Set the other side of the banding into the remaining half of your clasp (Without glue). Try the bracelet on, and trim back to size if needed.
	Once you have everything sized up the way you like, glue the other end of your clasp in, and let dry. your bracelet should look just like the one of the left.

Hematite 30mm Cuff Materials Used 7 inches of 10 row Jet Hematite Swarovski CrystalTex 7 inces of 10 row Crystal Swarovski CrystalTex 2 Suede Strips 30mm .925 Sterling Silver Plated Multi-Strand Magnetic Clasp Project Variations: When creating a 3 strand version of this bracelet, we use 2 strips of suede, and connect them together with the hotfix strips. In this bracelet design we start with our middle jet hematite banding, hotfit both of our suede strips together, and then add our crystal banding. We use a full strip of 10 row hematite banding, and cut our crystal banding into two 4 row bands.

In this design we start with our middle golden shadow banding, hotfix both of our suede strips together, and begin working outward. Our 5 row Jet Hematite banding is cut into two 2 row strips, and our 10 row crystal banding is cut into two 4 row strips.	Crystal 20mm Cuff Materials Used 1 8 inch suede strip 7 inches of jet hematite 5 row Swarovski CrystalTex Synthetic Hotfix Chaton Banding 7 inches of crystal 10 row Swarovski CrystalTex Synthetic Hotfix Chaton Banding 1 20mm 925 Sterling Silver Plated Multi-Strand Magnetic Clasps - Crystal Project Variations: This is the same pattern as the project guide, but we've switched the locations of the Crystal, and Hematite band to make Crystal the focus of this one.

How to Make a Leather Rollo Chain Bracelet

Our latest design project is going to show you a new way to work with 1.5mm leather cord. This bracelet combines 1.5mm leather with 5.7mm Rollo Chain to form the base of the design. Connecting your toggle just takes a couple of jump rings, and you have a bracelet.

Materials Needed

2 5.5mm Jump Rings
2 7mm Jump Rings
1 Toggle
24 inches of 5.7mm Rollo Chain
4 Feet of 1.5mm Leather Cord

Tools and Supplies Needed

Nipper Tool
Super New Glue
Bent Nose Pliers
Clip Board (Makes life easier)

This project can easily be completed by a beginner with the right tools. Our only suggestion is that you've had experience opening and closing jump rings. Once you've got that down, the rest starts to fall in place pretty easy. I should probably also mention that if you haven't worked with super new glue before, a little bit goes a long way.... lets get started.

Begin by opening your 5.5mm Jump Rings and attaching them to each side of your toggle	Take your 24 inches of chain and cut it into 3 equal pieces (approx 8 inches each) Open your 7mm jump ring and run it through all 3 pieces of chain.	Load the 5.5mm jump ring on one end of your toggle onto the 7mm jump ring connected to your 3 lengths of chain and close.
Now run your leather through the 1st set of rings of your chain and center you leather to make sure both sides are equal	Working Right to Left run your right cord through the next set of loops running the same direction.	Now take left piece and run it through that same loop you just did so that it is positioned on top.
Continue this pattern until you have reached the desired length.	Once you have reached the length you want, use a nipper tool to cut off extra rings. The bottom of your bracelet should look like the image above.	Connect the other half of your toggle the same way we did in the beginning of the guide.
Glue your leather where your last pass went through the chain on both side, and let dry for a few minutes.	Use your nipper tool to cut off extra leather, and you're done!

Materials Needed

2 10 Inch lengths of 5mm Stitched Leather
2 Regaliz Sliders
1 Regaliz Magnetic Clasp
4 Rubber O-Rings

Tools and Supplies Needed

Sharp Scissors
Super New Glue
Bent Nose Pliers, or flat nose pliers

Gather your supplies.	Use a pair of bent nose, or chain nose pliers to open your Rubber O-Ring	Fold one of your 10 inch pieces of leather in half and load on your Rubber O-ring leaving a nice size loop.
Slide on your Regaliz Slider, and then another Rubber O-ring to hold it in place.	Now do the same thing with your other piece of 10 inch leather. You should have 2 loops like the image above.	Slide one of your loops (Tail end first) into the other like shown in the image above.
Now take the other loops tail up through the loop like in the image above.	Pull your loops tightly together to from a knot you're happy with, then push your sliders up to hold it in place.	Trim your leather to size.
This should give you the base of your bracelet.	Put 3 to 4 drops of Super New Glue into your Regaliz Magnetic Clasp.	Load your leather in, and hold in place for a minute to make sure it hold. Repeat with the other side.

Rock Candy Leather Wrap Guide

Our Rock Candy Wrap Jewelry Kit contains all the beads, and stringing material needed to complete 1 bracelet kit. Tools, Glue, and other supplies need are sold separately.

Materials

72 inches of 0.6mm knotting cord
24 inches of 1.5mm leather
64 8mm top drill bicones
13mm button

Instructions

Slide your button on your leather and center it making the sides equal

Take your knotting cord under the leather and making it equal, now you'll begin with your square knot. You'll want your square knot to be right underneath the button.

-Take your right cord over your center cords and under your left cord, take your left cord under your center cords and up through the loop. Pull tight.

-Take your left cord over your center cords and under your left cord, take your left cord under your center cords and up through the loop. Pull tight.

Repeat each of these knots 2x

You'll first want to stiffen about an inch of each of the cords so the crystal will slide through easily.

Slide your 1st top drill on the right cord, push it all the way up, then do one square knot underneath it.

Slide your 2nd top drill on the left cord, push it all the way up, then do another square knot underneath it.

Slide on your 3rd top drill on the right side start your square knot, do not push up this bead leave it in the center of the knot and pull it tight so that the bicone is facing upwards on the bracelet.

Repeat pattern until you reach the desired length of bracelet, standard being 64.

Now you'll end with 6 square knots.

Space out about an inch on your leather and then tie it in a knot like shown.

Nip off all your extra cords and glue/burn them. (10)

Bent Nose or Chain Nose Pliers

Materials Needed for this project

4 - 2" .925 Sterling Silver Eye Pins
1 Pair - .925 Sterling Silver Shell Leverbacks
1 Pair - 1" .925 Sterling Silver Box Chain Spacer
1 Pair - 1.5" .925 Sterling Silver Box Chain Spacer
1 Pair - 2" .925 Sterling Silver Box Chain Spacer
8 - 3.5mm .925 Sterling Silver Open Jumprings
8 - 3mm .925 Sterling Silver Seamless Round
2 - 10mm .925 Sterling Silver Open Jumprings
6 - Swarovski 19mm 2 Hole Column Beads

Instructions

Take 1 eyepin, and load one of your 3mm seamless round beads followed by your 3 19mm Swarovski column beads.
Load another 3mm seamless round on top.
Wrap your eye pin, making the opening face the same direction as the bottom of your eye pin.
Load a 3mm bead on your second eye pin.
Insert your eye pin up through all 3 of your column beads
Add another 3mm seamless round, and repeat your wrapping process (making sure your loop at the top, matches the loop at the bottom).

(this is how your project should look so far.)

Open one of your 3.5mm jump rings
load your chains in the following order

2mm
1.5mm
1mm

insert your jump ring into the loop at the bottom of your eyepin.

(They should be hanging like this)

Open another 3.5mm jump ring then take it through your chain in the following order

1mm
1.5mm
2mm

insert your jump ring into the loop at the bottom of your eyepin (the opposite site to let the chains dangle).

(Make sure your curve is in the proper order)

Now comes the easy part.

Open your 10mm jump ring
Take it through the tops of your eye pins where you wrapped (tip: slightly push your eye pins towards each other. You will notice in the main photo the tops are slightly curved inward.)
Load your shell leverback onto the jump ring
Close the jump ring tightly
