Clubs - The Series Finale!!!

A bit of bittersweet news from my end. This will be the last part of the clubs series, however, my school has recently cut all school clubs. The only club remaining is Ski Club, which, unless you are a member, nobody really gives a shit about anyways. There is an upside though. The upside is that I don't have to spend thirty minutes writing a third part. If you are one of the people to whom this meant a lot, I apologize. You may expect some reparations in about forty to fifty years. That doesn't mean you are going to get them though...

Earlier today I came across this video on YouTube and was very surprised with what I saw:

In actuality, GRAK play a pretty good cover given their age and size. But they've become yet another band on YouTube mocked by thousands. Really take in all of the factors of this band and then think of Blackout:

Sure, Blackout isn't the best band ever. But both of these bands, regardless of talent or skill level, have one major thing in common. They aren't like the kids that get a guitar for Christmas because everyone else was getting one then let it sit in the corner of their room for three years then sell it. They are actually taking what they have (which in Blackout's case, is not much) and using it. Are people really so insecure that they have to resort to attacking KIDS on the internet? People have made fun of both bands equally and it just isn't right. To your friends and relatives or mere aquaintances it is fine to make fun of them if you feel it is necessary, but to all of the thirty year old guys who are bitter because you couldn't do what these kids do if you tried: save yourself some time (and mine) and go pump somebody's gas.

I realize it has been a while since I've posted here and I apoligize for the time you spent refresing/F5ing the web page hoping for either a new blog post or at the very least a new 30 minute extravaganza courtesy of yours truly. For those of you with a keen eye (and a second grade education), you may have noticed a couple new features on the blog. First off, there are two new people (besides me, myself, and I) who will be posting on the blog. Don't worry, they'll post here just as irregularly as I do so as not to alter your schedule in any drastic way. Scrolling down, you can see where they have posted. Also, on the right side of the page, you'll find a little icon displaying the number of people visiting the site (including yourselve). Yes, I realize that it's kind of creepy but I really don't care so neither should you.

So I don't know if you know this yet, but on the the podcast website there is a little icon on the right sidebar where you can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, thus saving about a minute of time whenever there's a new one. The podcast will automatically download to your iTunes whenever a new episode is released.

You don't have to though. If you don't you can always stream or download it right off the site.

I encourage any critisism as well as suggestions or comments so let me know what you are thinking.

If you are terribly interested in the most amazing breed of chicken ever hatched you should definitely keep reading.
The non-bearded white crested black Polish hen along with every other kind of Polish chicken is much more exciting (yes these chickens are exciting) than any other poultry to every sprout wings and if not actually leave the ground, attempt to fly. If you are wondering how I came across this website you are not alone, I am just as curious as you are.

So I'm being lazy and not planning on finishing off the "clubs" series until this weekend. I know the three people who read this will be upset so I'm posting this as an intermission to tide you over.

In case you don't know, I'm a huge Nine Inch Nails fan. Don't let the the name scare you because he/they're pretty much straight up rock/electronic. No satanic references and it doesn't mean massive penis if that's what you're wondering. Anyhoo, I came across this video the drummer (Josh Freese) made while on tour this summer:

Notice the creepy little masks they were wearing and screaming from within at about 6:39? Well, I decided that I had to know what the hell these are so I did a quick little Google search and found this.

Now that you have read that persons opinion, I will also direct you to the Amazon page where you can purchase one of these wonderful little devices for yourself HERE (there's only 2 left!!!).

Not only is it the look of the mask (Asian Halloween?) and what it does, but the lady on the cover of the box is even more creepy. She's almost worse than the guy on the Quaker Oatmeal Can. Here's a comparison:

Clubs Part Duex

ATTENTION: If you haven't read Part 1 yet, just no that it doesn't matter what order you read these in.

For the sake of my (in)sanity I'm not going to worry about alphabetical order this time around.

We'll start off this explosive edition of [Insert Awesome Name Which I'm Too Lazy To Think Of Here] with The Jewish Student Union! I don't know about you but I think joining the JSU sounds like a pretty hardcore way to piss away 30+ minutes of my life. In all seriousness though, why the hell (no pun intended...) do Jewish students really need there own union? What would they do? Talk about which kosher brands they prefer?

Alright. Moving on with the Lighthouse Farm Animal Sanctuary. What are you doing every other Wednesday? I know I'm going to go round up a bunch of farm animals from local farms (please excuse the oxi-moron) and store them in room 236 for safe keeping. Sure, it's smells a bit in there but it's fun. TRUST ME.

Okay kids, get ready to break your thumbs because we're about to play some (semi)old school video games in N64 Club! For all of you out there who aren't in the "know," N64 stands for Nintendo 64. Yes the very same game console that brought the world of 3D animated video games into your household. Oops, forgot to mention that isn't true at all because the surprisingly unpopular Sega Dreamcast had already done that. Regardless, in N64 club, you basically just sit around and talk about the astounding difference in detail to Mario's ever expanding waistline. Not my cup of noodles but whatever. Maybe you'll be more interested than me.

Patio Jam Club, the only school sanctioned club to feature everybody's favorite past-time... you know, two words, starts with the letter D, we watched a cheesy video about it in science class, it's it's not very nice to do to somebody else... anyways, beware of this club. Unless of course you love crappy 80's arena rock and underage drinking.

Anyways, to save room for a possible third edition I'm going to leave Part Duex at that. Stop by again sometime. Oh, and tell your friends (and me if you feel the urge) how much you love this.

Clubs Part 1

I've decided that the wealth of clubs within the walls of my high school is somewhat alarming.

I think you (yes you, the one person who'll probably ever read this besides me) should get a close in-depth look at these clubs from my perspective rather than your own because that would just complicate things for everyone now wouldn't it?

Why don't I just show you what I consider to be the highlights of the list of 40+ clubs open to the student population.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a member of any of these clubs and the descriptions below are my interpretations based on the title of each club and are in no way (to my knowledge) accurate

We'll go in alphabetical order starting us of with... you guessed it, Asian Club! Not much to say there. The title pretty much packs all of the fun that happens in this club into just two words. I'd love to shake the hand of the person who came up with that name and just bask in his/her excellence for a moment... or an hour. Whatever gets the job done.

Next we have Camping Masters! I really couldn't imagine anything better than sitting in a classroom with my um... best(?) friends during lunch pitching a tent for anyone (and everyone) to see. Then we could sit and tell ghost stories until somebody cries and we all start telling jokes so we don't get in trouble. Do you enjoy camping? Is it the only thing you like to do? Do you have what it takes to be a master of camping? I hope so. If you do, Camping Masters is probably your last option isn't it?

French Club you say? [insert cheesy French accent] Oh ho ho! But of course! Could you ask for anything better than to speak French every other thursday with me, Mr. Cheesy French Accent Man? [end cheesy French accent] I guess not. Give it a shot?

Ah yes, the Gay/Straight Alliance. I think I know how this started out. A bunch of straight people started a club with a sign on the outside that said, "Straight People Only!" As you can imagine, the homosexual population of the school was highly offended, so they started there own club bearing a similar sign reading, "No Straights Allowed!" This went on for about a month or so until the blood began to run and I think we all know any schools policy on violence so the school board terrorized the clubs into becoming one to fight off the real evils in the world... the Chess Club (who due to several disturbing legal threats, will not be featured in this Expos�.

This brings us to our next club, HYPERCUBED.
No comment.

I end this installment with this one last club, the Voter's Club. A great idea, especially given our current political climate, however, it lacks one important detail: An eligible member. You have to be eighteen years of age to vote right? I could probably count the amount of students at my school that are registered voters using the hairs on Barack Obama's head. Oh well, I guess teachers and school administrators don't get paid to be knowledgeable now do they.

That about wraps this edition up. Keep on the look out for the next one soon. It should show up somewhere near here.
