What’s new in LightSweepPro v1.3.3?

– Bug fix: Fixed a crash that could take After Effects down while the effect was rendering. It happened when After Effects handed the effect an input frame smaller than the frame it asked us to render – most reliably right after a layer had been moved outside the composition frame and that change was undone. The effect now fills anything the input does not cover instead of reading past it.
– Bug fix: Fixed a crash in the trial watermark on large compositions. The watermark built each row on the call stack, which could exhaust it at 4K and above. It now uses a heap buffer. This only ever affected unlicensed (trial) use.
– Bug fix: Chromatic Aberration no longer reads outside the image on compositions only one pixel wide or tall. Those sizes now fall back to the center sample.

The event is half party and half conference with Keynote speakers and studio speakers, games, vendor booths, food trucks, drinks, and more. Creative sessions, hosted by EJ Hassenfratz, include presentations from Blake Kathryn, David Mellor, and Kaho Yoshida.

What is half rez?

Half Rez is Chicago’s one-day celebration of motion design, built for artists, by artists. Each year, hundreds of motion designers, animators, producers, students, and studio teams gather for a split-day format: Creative Sessions in the afternoon for presentations and industry insights, followed by the Half Rez Party at night. The goal is simple: help people learn something useful, meet collaborators, and feel at home in a community that’s friendly, nerdy, and welcoming.

The evening party is unapologetically about connection and fun: a Main Stage keynote and studio talk, food included with every ticket, a 20-cube scavenger hunt, Realtime C4D Cube Races, giant Half Rez Jenga, pinball (with a Maxon One high-score prize), Polaroid photobooth and vendor booths, plus special drinks and plenty of space to mingle. Since 2012, Half Rez has been where the Midwest’s motion community meets, learns, and celebrates together.

Half Rez is a labor of love by the volunteer Half Rez committee members, running as if a not-for-profit, with every penny going towards the event.
