The Black Keys have recently released their seventh new album “El Camino” the US rock band who come from Akron in Ohio, were formed in 2001 by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney. The black keys have got bigger and bigger through an undeground following which has grown more and more over the last 10 years, their sound is a blue rock sound. Although they have been around for over 10 years they only broke through with the album brothers which included the single Tighten Up. El Camimo has reached number 2 in the billboard charts.

The new album has had rave reviews from The Independent Newspaper who said

‘Tremendous, hook-laden, all-killer-no-filler, by some distance the most powerful, compelling rock album of the year.’

The La Times gushed

‘Sometimes, a CD scratches an itch you didn’t even know you had, and El Camino is that record. It’s a summer record released in the winter, a dance record that just happens to rock. It’s a party record, a driving down the highway, ‘I’m in love with rock and roll, and I’ll be out all night’ record. Really, the only question is whether, this late in the year, this constitutes the best rock album of 2011 or 2012. It’ll probably be both.’

The Black keys start their sold out european tour this month and it continues across February 2012 the band will play dates in major UK cities like Nottingham Edinburgh and Manchester, the stand out dates on the tour are 3 dates at Alexandra Palace.

Florence and the Machine tour the UK in March with a 10 date tour. Florence + the Machine are a Indie band whose lead singer is Florence Welch, and she has support from various music artist. World leading concert promoters Live Nation have announced that John Reid has been appointed as their new chairman of concerts in Europe. His mission is to grow the global power of Live Nation in the European market. HE will concentrate on concert promotions and marketing.

Reid joins Live Nation from Warner Music Internation where he was CEO, he looked after the marketing of world stars like Madonna, Green Day and Michael Buble.

“I am delighted to join Irving Azoff, Rapino and Michael Simon Lewis at Live Nation,” said Reid in January 16 statement. He added, in part, that “it is a great opportunity to reach the largest live music, management and ticketing companies to a very exciting time for the company. “

Live Nation plans to Reid include business development continued throughout the continent, and focus more on touring artist and marketing.
“John will be instrumental in expanding our portfolio of the artist on tour and strengthening our marketing capabilities show that we are moving toward what we expect to be another strong year,” said Live Nation Europe, CEO Simon Lewis in a statement.
At a conference in September 2010, Live Nation President and CEO Michael Rapino identified international expansion as one of the focal points of the company heading in 2011.
Live Nation has quickly made good on the statements of Rapino. In November of that year, the company announced the acquisition of Ticketnet, a ticket retailer in France. Just a few months later in February 2011, Live Nation has also acquired Spanish ServiCaixa ticketing company.
Same as 2011 closed and the new year began, Live Nation has continued to grow with multiple efforts abroad.
Earlier this month, Live Nation has signed a contract with concert promoter Croatian bring more artists and performances across the country. The company also recently opened new offices in South Korea, where he hopes to take advantage of the growing interest in the genre K-pop.

When is the Reading Festival?
