Stephen Gethings of the County Meath Golf Club won the 36-hole TG Tour Junior Scratch Cup at Rosslare Golf Club on Sunday with two excellent rounds of 75 and 78. His total of 153 gave him the title by a clear 3 strokes. For anyone who know the links at Rosslare, you will appreciate just a fine score that is. Stephen now leaves the Kelkin Revive Order of Merit and joins the growing list of TG Tour Champions who have secured their invitations to the Tour Championship at Fota Island. Brian Jackson (5) of South County Golf Club took the JSC Title at Loughrea on Saturday with a very impressive 73, which gave him a clear 2-stroke win. For results, see our event page here.

Sean Cannon Wins Inaugural Loughrea SSC

It seemed appropriate that Sean Cannon (scratch) from Loughrea GC should be in inaugural Senior Scratch Cup Champion at his home club. The most consistent of the small field over the 2 rounds, Cannon showed his nouse and ability to take the title by 2 strokes. Sean is the first Senior Scratch Winner on the 2012 TG Tour and in so doing as secured his place at the TG Tour Championship at Fota Island in October. Sean also received a customised Callaway RAZR Driver from our tour partners at Callaway Golf. For results and more go to our event page here.

NOTICE: Dun Laoghaire JSC removed from schedule

The Junior Scratch Cup at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club due to take place on June 3rd has been removed from our tour schedule. It will be replaced on July 6th by a new Championship Event hosted on the magnificent Smurfit Course at The K Club. Further details of this will be released next week.

Support our events at Loughrea on 19th

We're at Loughrea Golf Club this Saturday 19th May for our first ever tour visit to county Galway. We're excited about a new venue and new events, and, conscious of the flack we sometimes get from those in the North, West and South about how rarely the tour visit these 'far flung' outposts, we're especially excited about going west. The challenge though clearly is that new venues and new events need time to establish and build a following. With this in mind, we're asking any of our members who can, to make that little extra effort this Saturday and make the trip to Loughrea and compete in either the Junior or Senior Scratch Cup. We never fail to be amazed and proud of all of you who travel the country to compete on the TG Tour, no matter the weather forecast, even when you got the dreaded last tee time on a Sunday afternoon - we appreciate so much all of the support we are fortunate to continue to enjoy from TopGolfers all around Ireland. We hope you'll show Loughrea that same incredible support this weekend. Following the footsteps of the world no.1 Rory McIlroy, a truly exceptional round of 74 (+2) at Lough Erne earned Michael Ryan the title of The 2012 TopGolfer Lough Erne Junior Scratch Cup.
