Demelza is set to make her trip to NYC next month. However, her minder, Priscilla Leighton-Clark of Priscilla’s Model Management, is going to be more cautious with this new client.

“I’m not going to throw her in the deep end because she’s only 16,” she said. “Alice Burdeu was 20, and there’s a big difference in what she was able to take on.”

I wonder how Demelza will do in NYC. She has a very different look than Alice.

According to her modeling card, she’s 5′11″, with measurements of 32-23-34. Her portfolio isn’t much yet–it’s just a single beauty shot and the photos from the ANTM lingerie shoot, but I’m so glad Marvita got signed! She was hilarious on the show and during post-show interviews.

I really liked Dani on the show, and am glad to see she’s getting regular work. It’s too bad its not higher-fashion stuff, but hey–a job’s a job!

Nigel Barker sat down with NYC blog Gothamist to chat about his family and how it’s growing; his new exhibit, “A Sealed Fate”; and living in New York.

Nigel is involved with the Humane Society and feels very passionately about the annual seal hunt that occurs here in Canada.

However, the exhibit doesn’t have graphic photographs of the hunt itself, but rather:

“The exhibit is a celebration of their lives, and what they are, and their transformation during their short life,” Nigel says. “I wanted to bring a spotlight to show people what they look like, right up until they die, so people realize they are still beautiful.”

I think it’s an interesting move that Nigel didn’t automatically go for the gross-out factor. Those can be more emotionally challenging, but I guess that doesn’t faze a professional photographer! I hope the photos are put online at some point–I’d love to see them.

The exhibit is at 401 Projects July 25-27. Nigel is giving guided tours himself, so be sure to take advantage of that! You can read the rest of the Gothamist interview here.

I can only think of three—Tyra Banks herself, Lisa D’Amato, and Sarah Vonderhaar. Can you think of any more?

first up, we have Tyra and her infamous “Shake Ya Body” video. Tyra completely financed this project herself and one of the challenges in the second season of ANTM was starring in this video. While I appreciate Tyra’s attempt at music, I’m glad she found her true calling in the talk show world.

Next up, we have Lisa D’Amato from Cycle 5 and her brilliant video “Ace of Spades.” She made this video about a year ago. There’s several other songs on her MySpace page, if you want to go check them out.

Finally, we have Sarah Vonderhaar from Cycle 8. She revealed on ANTM that she had many passions, including photography and music. Since appearing on the show, she recorded an album and has been promoting it since its April 22 2008 release. You can check out her website for more details. Below isn’t a music video, but rather her playing live in a small bar.

The video was released by German paper Bild and features 23 minutes of “wild erotic games and unbridled sex.” The paper is claiming that Gina Lisa gave them permission to leak the video.

“Gina agreed to have the film uploaded to earn money,” her boyfriend, who also stars in the video, said. “We filmed ourselves on purpose.”

Ever since it was released, Bild’s website has been crashing regularly.

I guess she was assuming that sex tapes=fame. Let’s look at a moment at who has famous sex tapes: Paris Hilton. Pamela Anderson. Kim Kardashian. The tape has resulted in an offer for Gina to star in a porn film. If this is the kind of fame she wants, that’s great. But it always frustrates me when people use the Top Model franchise to leverage their own fame and not their modeling career. It devalues the show.

However, if Gina leaked the tape to further her modeling career, that’s just dumb.

I know this isn’t the latest news, but I was wondering what you thought about it all, and if Gina made the right move or a very dumb one.

Even though the Foxtel president said that host Jodhi Meares’ future with Australia’s Next Top Model was safe and that she would be welcome back next season, Jodhi is publicly stating that she has no plans to return to the show.

In a recent interview with GraziaMeares said, “I am not an entertainer, I don’t aspire to handle crowds of that level. I said that upfront and Foxtel were totally fine about it.”

She felt that her decision wasn’t very controversial and that the media hype was overblown and unnecessary.

“When it happened, I didn’t know how to feel. I thought, `What the hell do I do?’,” she said. “Obviously I have dealt with media interest in me before, but not on that scale and not for no reason, like this it really got out of hand.”

As for returning to AusNTM, it’s not happening, she claims. She has no plans to return to AusNTM or any participate in any media in the future. “I don’t see it as something I will need to manage in the future,” she said.

Certainly publicly discussing contract negotiations before they happen is a great way to not get your contract renewed. My only question now is–who are they going to hire to replace Jodhi?

The event was part of MLB All-Star week and the winner received a million dollars. I wonder how Jaslene stacked up against all those guys!
