I live in Tornado Alley in Northeast Oklahoma in a rural area outside the range of audible alarms. I have my own weather station that uploads to the Internet every few minutes and I have purchased a dozen weather apps because I need to know what is going on. MyRadar is the finest application I have found to date at any price to get fast accurate radar feeds. The application is overlaid on a very high resolution map that pinpoints my exact location so I can quickly see where the severe weather is relative to my house. I upgraded to the pro version to get rid of the ads and upgraded to get the pushed alerts as well. This is the first application I go to when I need good radar fast. The small fees to upgrade are not relevant when it comes to protecting myself, my family and my neighbors.

Now, in addition to the temperature badge, you can set up the app to notify you of any changes in the weather as they happen, right in the Lockscreen and Notification Center.

It works really easy. We have Notification Setting that allows you to receive a Popup/Banner alert from our Push Server. The radar used by the National Weather Service is called the WSR-88D, which stands for Weather Surveillance Radar - 1988 Doppler (the prototype radar was built in 1988). As its name suggests, the WSR-88D is a Doppler radar, meaning it can detect motions toward or away from the radar as well as the location of precipitation areas.

This ability to detect motion has greatly improved the meteorologist's ability to peer inside thunderstorms and determine if there is rotation in the cloud, often a precursor to the development of tornadoes.

There are 155 WSR-88D Doppler radar in the nation, including the U.S. Territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, operated by the National Weather Service and the Department of Defense.

OPERATOR'S MANUAL:

When you open the Wind Meter APP the screen will rotate so that the microphone end of the phone will now be on top. To obtain the best wind speed readings, simply hold the iphone upright and straight out to your side with the screen facing you, letting the wind slip over the top of the phone, and push Get Wind! Wait at least 5-10 seconds and then push Got Wind! The final reading is the average for the period. The Wind Meter estimates wind speeds from 4-28 mph. We recommend that you test the Wind Meter for your particular iPhone or type of use, using only natural wind and a commercial grade anemometer for comparisons. While the default calibration is appropriate for many phones, if your iOS device appears to over or under measure, you can easily calibrate your phone's Wind Meter Application by pushing the Calibrate button. Due to the necessary installation of a noise dampener, the Wind Meter is most effective in consistent winds. For the same reason, it begins to effectively estimate wind speeds that are above 5mph.

This application is not intended to replace commercial grade anemometers or scientific instrumentation.

During a severe weather event, it is advisable to keep your device charging as much as possible in case you lose power for an extended period.

Now, in addition to the temperature badge, you can set up the app to notify you of any changes in the weather as they happen, right in the Lockscreen and Notification Center.

It works really easy. We have Notification Setting that allows you to receive a Popup/Banner alert from our Push Server.
