1^st DAY

Arrival at Ivalo airport in. Private transfer to Saariselkä.

Accommondation in Hotel Laanihovi in double rooms.  Buffet dinner.

Checking  your clothing at the safari club– you’ll be provided with thermal overalls, woolen socks, shoes, mittens, balaclavas, helmets and woolen hats.

2^nd DAY

After breakfast, early in the morning  - packing your things on snowmobiles, every one will drive his/her own  4 stroke 120 hp 1000cc snowmobile. We head our snowmobiles towards North. We drive through  beautiful wilderness,  picnic lunch on the way.Our destination is a small reindeer farm in Sevettijärvi, where we stay as guests of the local reindeer herding family. Local dinner is served after the sauna. . Approx. 195 km.

3^rd DAY

After breakfast we continue towards North, cross the boarder to Norway and head to the Arctic Ocean. We raise a toast by the Ocean, have picnic lunch  enjoying the scenery and the unique athmosphere. This is as far North as you can drive with snowmobiles in Europe! In the afternoon we return back to  same  cozy Sevettijärvi cottages again for the night. Dinner and sauna in Sevettijärvi. Approx. 100 km.

4^th DAY

After breakfast we start the engines and take another route trough unhabited wilderness direction South again. We stop on the way in Inari sami village for coffee and  head to Saariselkä through Hammastunturi wilderness area. Lunch in the wilderness on the way. Approx. 190 km.

Check in Hotel Laanihovi. Free time for sauna. Special dinner in Laanihovi restaurant.

^5th DAY

Breakfast. Free time for cross country skiing or snow shoeing (free use of equipments).

Private transfer to the Ivalo airport .

Price  1.470 euro  per person net.  Min. 6 persons.

Includes all programme and meals  and accommondations mentioned, one 4 stroke snowmobile for each participant, guidance in English.

All programmes include all necessary clothing and gear, pick up from hotel or cottage is Saariselkä area, departure from Top Safaris Safari Club. SCURRY OF SNOW (Tunturin Tuiske)

We change into safari outfit at the safari club; overall, socks, shoes, mittens, balaclavas and helmets. After a short driving lesson we head our snowmobiles to the treeless fells and snow-covered forests enjoying the beautiful wilderness scenery. On the way we’ll make a short coffee break by open fire in a hideaway cottage listening to the quietness of the wilds of Lapland. Duration of the trip approx. 2,5 hours. Min. 2 persons.

THE BEAUTY OF POWDER SNOW    (Puuterin Pauloissa)

At the safari club we’ll get the driving gear for snowmobiling and after the safety and driving instructions  We start the engines and off we go to the fells. This sporty safari crosses fells and forests providing fun for beginners as well as for  more experienced drivers. Duration approx. 2 hours.  Min. 2 participants.

ON THE TRACKS OF A REINDEER HERDER    (Poromiehen jäljillä)

After dressing up warmly for the safari and a short driving school we drive on snowmobiles to meet a reindeer herder. At his reindeer farm we will apart meeting his reindeers learn how to drive a reindeer! Every one who passes the test will be given an international reindeer driving licence. By open fire we’ll take part in magical Lappish ceremony. We are invited to his old cottage for cup of coffee and Lappish bakery . Approx.  3 – 3,5 h . Min. 4 persons. THE CALL OF THE WILD    (Erämaan Kutsu)

The safari club will provide you with everything you need: all necessary clothing and equipments as well as a short driving school. And off we go with our snowmobiles answering to the call of wild. The magnificent scenery, unhabited forests  and fells and of course snow everywhere as far as you can see. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere we’ll make a break and prepare on open fire  a tasty picnic lunch. Return back to Saariselkä over the fells with view all the way to Russia. Duration  approx. 4 h. Min. 2 persons.

FISHERMAN’S TRICKS   (Kalamiehen Kujeet)

The safari club  will provide you with everything you need: all necessary clothing and equipments as well as a short driving school. We drive on snowmobiles towards a wilderness lake for fishing. On the ice we spend the day ice-fishing. Our guide serves us a tasty lunch made on open fire. If you have luck in fishing we can prepare your catch also on the fire. Duration  approx 4,5-5 hours. Min. 2 persons. Best season : February – April. Price 135 € p.p. sharing 2 persons snowmobile                          Price 180 € p. p.  driving single.

LEARN WILDERNESS SKILLS  (Kairojen kiertäjät)

Dressed up for snowmobiling we head to treeless mountains and unhabited forests on a guided snowmobile tour, which will also learn you a lot about the arctic nature. During the safari you’ll with the help of your guide fulfill several tasks that learn you various wilderness skills. For  lunch we prepare together a delicious meal on open fire. Approx. 5 h. Min  2 persons. Price  140 € p. p.  sharing / Price   185 €  p.p. driving single .  

TASTE THE FLAVOUR OF THE FELL  (Huipulle herkutteluun)

Do you want to have a look at the beautiful mountain scenery? Take a sleigh ride to the top of mountain Kaunispää sitting cozy in a wooden sleigh pulled by our snowmobile ‘taxi’, visit the exclusive souvenir shop,  have lunch or just a cup of coffee with house made bakery at the restaurant. When the weather is clear you can see from the top of the fell all the way to Russia. Return from the mountain hiking, with ski bus or if you feel like more snow fun – take a toboggan ride of your lifetime, 1,5 km down to the village. Price 25 € per person or 70 € /family (max 6 persons).

BARK OF THE HUSKIES (Huskien haukku)

We dress up warmly at the safari office and drive to the other side of the village, where the cute huskies are already eagerly waiting for the day’s exercise. After the driving school we step in pairs on the sleighs – one sitting in front as a passanger and one standing and driving the team of 6 to 8 dogs. Pairs will take turns in driving as the huskies happily take us through the winter landscape. We give the dogs a break and have a lunch by open fire in a wooden cottage behind Kuusipää fell.  Duration approx. 4 hours.  Price 175 € per person.

A 2,5 h husky tour - as above – but with coffee break instead of lunch. Price 135 €/per person.

REINDEER RIDE    (poron pulkassa)

We drive with a car (8 km)  to the reindeer farm of the sami family, where we – dressed up in warm clothing – will step in sleighs pulled by a reindeer. Sitting cozy and warm between the reindeer furs we drive reindeers following our guide, the reindeer herder. Enjoy the absolute quietness, which only the tinkling of a reindeer bell can break! The reindeer herder  invites us for lunch inhis cottage, the restful ride with reindeers and the friendly hospitality of these sincere Lapps is an unforgettable Lappish experience. Duration of the trip with transfers approx. 3 -3,5 hours (reindeer driving approx. 1,5 -2h). Minimum 2 persons. Price 145 €  per person.

Alkutalven takuuvarma ulkoaktiviteetti

Eisstock - Alppimaiden suosikkilajissa on After Ski parhaimmillaan

Eisstock (tai tarkalleen ottaen Eisstockschiessen) on talvella  jäällä tai  kesällä asfaltilla pelattava helppo ja mukaansatempaava joukkuepeli, jota pelataan Baijerissa ja muualla Alppien saksankielisellä alueella lähes joka kylässä. Suosion syynä lienee pelin luonne: se ei vaadi suurempia  fyysisiä ponnistuksia ja sopii näin kaikille mutta se on tarkkuutta ja joukkueen tiimityötä vaativaa hauskaa ajanvietettä. Siksi toimme pelin myös Suomeen ja Saariselälle! Eistockschiessen on lisäksi Alppien alueella erityisesti talvinen kilpailulaji, johon osallistuu pienimmistäkin kylistä vähintään yksi joukkue. Ensimmäiset Euroopan mestaruuskisat pidettiin 1951 Garmisch-Partenkirchenissä ja MM-kilpailut  vuonna1983!

Eisstockin pelivälineet ovat yksinkertaiset; heittokahvallinen peliväline (eisstock), jonka pohjalla on jäällä pelattaessa kuminen ja asfaltilla muovinen liukupohja sekä maalina toimiva kiekko, jonka viereen mahdollisimman lähelle pelivälinettä yritetään heittää. Pelin kulusta tekee mielenkiintoisen se, että loistavakaan heitto pelin alussa ei vielä takaa joukkueen voittoa, sillä myöhemmät pelaajat voivat heitoillaan siirtää myös maalia tai radalla jo olevia eisstockeja. Pelaamassa voi olla kaksi tai useampikin joukkue, varusteina tarvitset vain ulkoiluvaatetuksen (apua löytyy tarvittaesssa safari clubiltamme),  minimi osallistujamäärä on 6 henkeä.

Saariselällä pelaamme Tunturihotellin Tapahtumatorilla keskellä kylää ( talvella jäädytetyllä radalla) tai Laanilassa,  pelin kesto joukkueen koosta riippuen 1-1,5 h. Hinta 25 euroa henkilö.
