I am making a good monthly income using AdSense on my Hubpages. I want to expand that monthly residual income by posting here on Google Blogger. Earning some extra money each month is something you can do. FACT: There are some men and women who have hundreds of websites, each independent website earning earning US$5 or 10 per month on average. What does all of the income from all of those sites amount to? Well, that income amounts to US$500 or more each month. Many of those websites use Google Adsense to earn their income.

Online Wines- Burgundy, White or Rose?

Amazon.com now sells an excellent variety of fine wines online. Amazon's Online wine shop features over 800 fine wines, possibly the largest wine shop in the world. This is truly wonderful for people who live in regions of the world where these wines are not available. Amazon's online ordering and delivery system makes all of this possible. People around the world interested in wines of the world now have access for viewing the details of these wines, ordering them online, and receiving them at their homes. Excellent!
My experience with wines is fairly broad. I've worked serving wine at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, Los Altos Golf and Country Club and sold wine as a clerk at the Pebble Beach Deli at the resort. In Applegate, Oregon I spent part of one summer leaf picking and rotating irrigation systems in a fairly large vineyard nestled in the quite Applegate Valley. Also, I have worked in a high production wine bottling and labeling company, Two Buck Chucks packaging wines for sale around the world. That in addition to being a packaging shipper for UPS where wines were carefully packed and shipped to locations worldwide. I have toured most of the vineyards in Sonoma, St. Helena and Napa, California sampling their exquisite wines. While in Asia I sampled a variety of European and South American wines. I am not too particular about which wine of a specific type or vintage goes best with a particular food.
My sense of taste for wine is about average you might say. I can differentiate by smell and taste while blindfolded the exquisite differences between a Burgundy, a White, and a Rose. However, when it comes to distinguishing the differences between a variety of Whites, Burgundy's or Rose's I am a bit lost.
I know, at least for me personally, the white wines go particularly well with fish, Burgundies with a good New York steak, and a Rose with any one of the fantastic sandwiches and salads we prepared at the Deli at the Pebble Beach Golf and Country Club.

I think most people probably feel about the same regarding my wine opinion. I know that depending on the occasion some types of wine are better than others. And, cooking with wine enhances the enjoyment of the meal and is a joy to the pallet.

About 99% of the blog pages I have featured here on Google Blogger were deemed inconsistent with Hubpages rules. So, as they become red-flagged I have moved them over here to Google Blogger. This blog, I wrote about Amazon wines. I also wrote a Hubpage about speedboats, also called cigarette boats. That Hubpage was Red Flagged about promoting tobacco. I am in the process of moving that article here to Google Blogger.

It came as a complete surprise to me when I was inducted into the National Honor Society for Psychology. I knew my grades (4.0 GPA) were tops in my major, psychology, and the grade reports on mid-terms and final examinations were also at the top of my classes, but, the induction into Psi Chi came as a complete surprise. I had not even heard of Psi Chi and had no idea that such an honor society even existed.

Many people do not know when their Civil Rights have been violated.

And, investigators siding with the defendant are certainly not going to provide any information. The law libraries of universities around the world contain vast amounts of books on civil rights issues, law, and violations. Perhaps these are a few of the types of breeches of law contained in those libraries. These would be intentional errors on the part of investigators:

Do not contact the person responsible for the violation. Contact his or her attorney only.
Do not apply the correct lawful violation to the complaint.
Complain about the complainant's paperwork preparation of evidence
Complain that the complainant waiting too long to file a complaint
Omit evidence in the complaint summary
Fight like hell to avoid being served with a subpoena
If served with a subpoena, then have the office say you are on holiday and cannot attend trial
Primary physicians refuse to appear in court via subpoena
Squash evidence
Damn the complainant any way and every way possible
Avoid answering letters requesting information about the laws applicable to your case
Control preparation for the interview: Instruct the complainant to not bring any documents to the interview
During the interview, when the complainant asks questions, squash the questions by changing the topic, to anything, for example, How many languages do you speak, what countries have you visited, how long did you remain in each country. Do not allow the complainant to ask any questions.
Selective interviewing: Interview ONLY those people that will work together in the demise of the complainant
Do not interview key witnesses that would support the complainant's allegations
Do not advise the complaintant of any rights he or she may have prior to the interview
Do not offer to provide typed text of any interview by either witnesses, those called as defendants or the complainant
Lie!

I am not an attorney so perhaps some or all of the above do not even fall within the realm of civil rights violations. That's part of the problem. People don't know if they have been violated.

Frogs Smarter Than We Think

A response to Hubber Jayjay40. Her post about frogs inspired a memory I have about a frog in Thailand.

Here is an interesting frog story for you. When I was teaching English in Thailand I used to sit at a motorcycle taxi stand watching the Thai Tuk-Tuks ferry their passengers along the way.

One night I observed a large Thai frog at the edge of the road. I watched the frog as it looked across the road. There was a marsh that was separated by the road. I could not understand why the frog wanted to cross the road when the marsh from which it came was the same on the other side. But not to question the frogs intent I trusted the frog knew what was best for him.

Minutes passed as the frog watched the traffic criss-crossing the road.

Finally, the frog took it first jump away from the safety of the side of the road toward the other side. I watched in horror, but still trusting the frog knew what was best.

The frog made four leaps to the white striped divider in the center of the road while cars, trucks, motorcycle taxis, and Tuk-Tuks sped along their way. The frog did not panic but held its position.

Then, after about five minutes when the road was clear of traffic, the frog leapt across the other half of the road to safety. I was dumbfounded and amazed.

I have often thought about that frog, how it survived, not only the traffic on the busy road but also the many predators that were part of the life cycle of the marsh.

As I read through some of your posts I saw your interest in frogs and thought I would share my frog story with you.

Perhaps there is wisdom in the old saying to look before you leap. That wise old saying certainly applies to frogs, and who knows, the saying may have derived from a writer who one day in the past observed a frog along an ancient road looking before he leapt.

Why It Is Important to Know!

New York City. It is Monday night. Jack Dukzs, a long haul truck driver, age 35 and divorced five years, just rolled his big rig into New York City from Canada. The drive, in his Mack diesel truck pulling a land-sea cargo container full of auto parts for export, took five long road-hardened days to complete. He off loaded the 90 foot overseas cargo container at the shipping yard dock, signed the release papers and decided he was ready for a much needed meal, and a drink.
In San Francisco, California, Mary and Nick, romantically involved for six months, just had their first big blow-up. Mary and Nick, in their early twenties considered themselves religious conservatives and were near graduating from university. How the argument started, neither new. It just seemed that pressure had been mounting for the past several weeks and tonight was the night when the festering emotional blister between the two would explode.
In New York City, truck driver Dukzs had finished off a 12 ounce New York T-bone steak, baked potato with chives, string beans, and a mixed vegetable salad with Roquefort dressing. After dinner, and for desert, he consumed five shots of Red Label Passport whiskey while watching preying stiletto heels click their way through 4 inches of fresh snow on the sidewalk outside.
How long had it been, six months? Normally cautious, but not tonight, he walked outside the bar and into the falling snow. He didn't have to look far and he didn´t have to wait long. The stilettos found him, and so did HIV.
After several short-hall trucking assignments Dukzs secured a contract to haul a cargo container from New York to San Francisco. After arriving in San Francisco, Dukzs decided to spend a little time at a San Francisco disco where and when he met Jenny. Jenny, divorced, single, and an attractive and persistent fixture at the disco, continuing to fatten the family purse by picking up wayward travelers and locals who seemed unattached. Jenny had a habit of slipping off protection to enhance customer turn-over. Both Dukzs and Jenny tossed caution to the wind and the end result would prove to be disastrous.
After the brief encounter, Dukzs walked hazily to the sleeping cab in his Mack truck carrying the sweet memory of Jenny. Jenny walked home carrying the money she had made and, unknowingly, HIV and Hepatitis B.
Mary and Nick continued having their relationship problems. Nick was getting more frustrated with Mary's monthly mood fluctuations. He just couldn't seem to keep up with the changes. Mary was flustered by Nick's relentless behavior like a rooster pestering the hens. One night, Nick decided the hell with it. He wanted the attention that Mary was not providing. He made a snap decision, got into his 4 wheel drive jeep, and set his sites on a disco in the City, the same as that visited by Dukzs.
Nick caught Jenny's eye as soon as he sat down at the bar.
At the disco, Nick accomplished his goal with the help of Jenny. She considered the disco her second home and source of income. Nick left Jenny and the nearby hotel with more than a satisfied feeling.
Nick and Mary's on and off relationship lasted several more months then abruptly ended.
After falling ill, Dukzs was advised to take a blood test by his doctor. Truck driver Dukzs was dual diagnosed with HIV and Hepatitis B antibodies in his blood stream. The rest is history.
Dukzs, having been infected by the stiletto streetwalker, infected disco fixture Jenny, who infected Nick who went on to infect his girlfriend Mary. HIV and Hepatitis B antibodies were detected in all of their blood test results. Mary suspected her boyfriend had been cheating on her but too shocked and depressed, did nothing but sulk. If averages play out, she won't live beyond the age of 30 with the virulent form of HIV she carries in her blood. Nick, Mary, Jenny, and Dukzs will all meet again, but not in this world.

This may be difficult to read so...

if you have just eaten breakfast, lunch or dinner or are preparing to eat, you probably won't want to read this. Like many of my Hubs, this one is about real life. And, real life can sometimes be revolting. Live long enough, travel far enough, and you will understand what I mean. This writing is about the horrible suffering of dogs in Southeast Asia. There is a Discussion Board, video, updated news reports, and animal safety products below.

While traveling in certain Southeast Asian countries I witnessed the horrific and suporific suffering of many dogs. There was no animal spay or neuter clinics and no organized animal patrol to pick up the sick and diseased dogs that I saw.

Many of these ill animals were suffering from diseases that were turning their intestines inside out. I do not mean the intestines were reversing their position, I mean the intestines were being emitted from their bodies.
Many of these dogs would seek high ground to avoid being bitten by ticks, fleas, low flying mosquitoes and bottle flies fat with larvae. The high ground, in the instances that I observed, were public and university picnic tables. The dogs would sit and lie down on the surfaces of the picnic tables until pain, hunger, loneliness or stinging ants moved them along leaving behind body on the table surfaces fluids filled with infection. Then, students and passerbys would sit and breakfast, snack or lunch at these very same picnic tables. Some of the dogs I saw were so infected they were dragging their intestines along the sidewalks and roads in which they were walking.

I asked one student what most of these dogs were suffering from. The student said, in broken English, Syphilis. My eyes rolled over in horror.

I asked the student why these dogs were not cared for, removed by school or public authorities, something, anything but to let their suffering continue. The student said, "Nobody care, nobody help."
Spay and neuter programs could be set up and established in some of these countries. However, there are incredible hurdles to overcome. Currently pet dogs and cats are allowed to roam free, there is no dog or cat licensing laws, no one is held responsible for animal or human injuries resulting from dog attacks, and veterinarians are far and few between. Clinics could be established to provided emergency care and other services to pets and other animals.

To establish spay and neuter clinics in these countries dog and cat licensing would have to be mandatory. Such licensing could bring in the fees needed to help fund the infrastructure needed to establish local and or regional spay and neuter clinics.
The clinics would require veterinarians for the surgery procedures. Students who were at an advanced stage in their study of animal science and medicine could participate in a three month internship, required for graduation, providing the surgical procedures.
Fines could be implemented for owners of cats and dogs who are not licensed. The fines could be used for enforcement of dog and cat licensing as well as to help fund the spay and neuter clinics.

Fortunately, however, spay and neuter clinics and programs are beginning to be established in some of these countries. As a result many diseased dogs and cats are not only getting the care they need but are also helped surgically so that their torment will not be passed onto another generation and their diseases not spread to other animals as well as humans.
When you can, try to help one dog or cat by supporting your local spay and neuter clinic or program. If each person, for example, in the United States, were to help just one dog or cat in their life time, that would be the equivalent of millions of dogs and cats helped. Only one.

According to ASPCA about "5,000,000 to 7,000,000 companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized (60 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats). While travelling around the world teaching English I have been approached by many people who have wanted to practice their English language conversational skills. I always asked how they learned to speak English.
Many of these students of English said they learned English by watching English television (TV) programs, soap operas, talk shows, news, and movies from the USA.
Other students have said they had used CDs and DVDs containing English language movies. There are some websites that provide both free and paid TV programming from the USA.
To locate some of these sites use Google search and type in the search box free TV, and paid TV.

"I researched electric bikes for some time before I settled on this one. After some shipping delays, it arrived a couple days ago. It comes in a huge box, which weighs 76K--167 pounds. Once inside, it's bolted to a pretty dirty steel cage, so be prepared to get smelly and dirty! The front axle bolt is threaded through the cage, it takes some time and patience to work that out. The instructions are close to useless, but it's pretty obvious where most of the stuff is supposed to go. Just be patient! And don't be afraid of getting dirty.I'm 5', about 110, and was able to wrestle it around, so I would think most people shouldn't have a problem. I put it together, charged it up, turned it on. I forgot that electric bikes don't make a starting noise, and I hit the throttle and just about mowed down my dining room table. So watch for the quiet operation! ;) The horn on the other hand is pretty loud and harsh--everyone's going to know you're coming. The lighting is fantastic, lights are big and bright, huge brake lights, great front and back turning signals. It has high beams as well.I haven't had a chance to really test it out on distances, I've been getting used to it--it does take off pretty fast, so practice somewhere where you won't run into things--like NOT the dining room! ;)

Safe Children's Playgrounds

You are the city manager, and you got that way by being elected. Campaign promises included more schools, better transportation, streets and roads as well as a library and a playground. But, what happens when it comes to making a choice between the high bidder and the low bidder for each project? When the low bidder is chosen for projects the quality of the finished product is bound to be lower. Yes, campaign promises were made but at what cost to human safety?

The bidding process for any construction project should include a warranty guarentee by the builder that the finished product meets city, county and state guidelines for safety and longevity of use without the development of defects. The plans for the project, whether they be for a children's playground, a park, a railroad or theme ride should be thouroughly reviewed by a risk manager who is qualified to review such projects.

In the case of children's playground equipment, several danger points should be looked for including including the quality of products that intend to be used in the manufacture of the different playground structures. For example, if the playground includes swings, connecting joints or unions from which the swing is attached should not contain rough edges which could pose a scraping and infection risk.

Slides should be made from a material that will not be subject to deterioration. For example, slides made from plastic should be of a material known to withstand the effects of play, wind, sun and rain. Lower grade plastics can be subject to weathering and breakdown from normal use resulting in the rough edges as shown in the photograph below. Online Video Games

I think that it is rather amazing the amount of young people that are jamming Internet cafes and public libraries playing video games. I remember when I was a kid. Pin Ball machines were all the rage. Five cents at a time to play Knock Out, a game where the player used flippers and bouncers to try to rack up points for the guy you wanted to win the boxing tournament. I was playing all the time along with many of the other kids in the neighborhood.

I remember also how it was a little bit addictive watch all of those flashing lights, listening to the bells as the points would get racked up and the big red light at the center of the console point screen getting brighter and brighter. It was, in a word, amazing. But those pin ball machines with a steel ball bouncing every which way were nothing compared to the flat screen displayed online and offline video games of today.

I just happen to be old enough to have lived in both worlds so today when I saw ten kids skipping school to play online video games at the Internet cafe I was in I took a step back and thought, ahh, same story, same deal, but a different channel. I totally understood what those guys were feeling, and, you could see the guilty look in their eyes having been where they were. Every now and then eyes would dart toward the front door of the cafe hoping that it was not the truant officer from the local international school.

My hope is that perhaps one day the experience those guys are getting playing other people´s games will somehow convert into their developing educational games that will help this country move forward in its bid to find its place in the international business arena.

Construction Equipment Rentals and Leases

When is it best to rent or lease? If you are new to the construction business there are a number of factors to consider. If the construction site where you are building is hundreds of miles from your base of operations is there a cost benefit in renting, leasing or bringing your own equipment to the site? In some instances it may be better to rent or lease than to haul your own equipment in. This could especially be true when large cranes are needed for high rise building construction. The cost of hauling your own construction company's crane or the purchase of the crane may not be a good decision.

During the construction planning and bidding phase the decision to rent, lease, haul your own, or purchase new construction equipment needs to be figured into the overal cost of the construction project.

One option that may be available is to consider contacting a contractor in the area where the new construction project is located. Ask if the company would be willing to rent out equipment needed for your project. If hauling your own is not an option, and construction rental costs from companies in that business are too high, then a local builder with the equipment you need might be willing to cut you a better deal.

Jackhammers, wackers, pavement breakers, phematic hosing, electrical extention cords and electrical generaors as well as air compressors are usually not a problem when it comes to transporting these to distant locations. However, large building cranes, concrete pump trucks and other large types of construction building equipment could pose a logistical or expense problem. If your construction accountant, working with your construction job bidder decides that local renting or leasing is the most cost effective option, then a contractor or builder located near nor worksite may be the solution to renting equipment at a lower cost than doing business with a business that specializes in that construction service.
