Dr. Hazarika was born on 8 September 1926 to Nilakanta and Shantipriya Hazarika in Sadiya, Assam. His father was originally from Nazira, a town located in Sivasagar district. The eldest of ten children, Bhupen Hazarika (as also his siblings) was exposed to the musical influence of his mother, who exposed him to lullabies and traditional Music of Assam. His father moved to the Bharalumukh region of Guwahati in 1929,in search of better prospects, where Bhupen Hazarika spent his early childhood. In 1932 his father further moved to Dhubri, and in 1935 to Tezpur. It was in Tezpur that Bhupen Hazarika, then 10 years of age, was discovered by Jyotiprasad Agarwala, the noted Assamese lyricist, playwright and the first Assames Filmmaker and Bishnu Prasad Rabha, renowned Assamese artist and revolutionary poet , where he sang a Borgeet (the traditional Assamese devotional songs written by Srimanta Sankardeva and Sri Sri Madhabdeva), taught by his mother at a public function. In 1936, Bhupen Hazarika accompanied them to Kolkata where he recorded his first song at the Aurora Studio for the Selona Company . His association with the icons of Assamese Culture at Tezpur was the beginning of his artistic growth and credentials. Subsequently, Hazarika sang two songs in Agarwala's film Indramalati (1939): Kaxote Kolosi Loi and Biswo Bijoyi Naujawan at the age of 12. Simple Kapadia was born on 15th August,1958 , the younger sister of actress Dimple Kapadia who began her career as a costume designer when she was 18 years old. She made her acting debut in 1977 in the film Anurodh, paired opposite her then real-life brother-in-law, actor Rajesh Khanna. In that movie, she played the role of Sumitha Mathur. Her career as an actress spanned for almost 10 years. She starred in Shaaka in 1981 opposite Jeetendra. Her role in Lootmaar received all the plaudits from critics as well as theatregoers.She then distinguished herself with secondary roles in movies such as Jeevan Dhara, Hum Rahe Na Hum and Dulha Bikta Hai in which she performed a memorable qawali dance. In 1985, she starred in alternate cinema movie Rehguzar opposite Shekhar Suman. This poetic movie confirmed her qualities as an actress. Despite several offers and after more than 20 movies, she decided to end her acting career in 1987 after performing in an item song for the movie Parakh.Her clients names were such as Tabu, Amrita Singh, Sridevi and Priyanka Chopra could be found and many more.In 1994, she won a National Award for her costume design in Rudaali. Story of the movie Sadak:-

The excellent portrayal of the eunuch, Maharani (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), an evil madam running a brothel that employs many girls like Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) and Chanda (Neelima Azeem). Manoj Kumar played a village man 'Bharat', who sacrifices everything to get his brother educated. His brother (Prem Chopra) goes abroad and comes back a selfish man wanting his share of the property. But when war of 1965 between India and Pakistan breaks out, Bharat is off to the war; while his selfish brother, with the help of his greedy uncle ,Charandas(Madan Puri) and some partners, tries to gain profit by selling drugs and blackmarketering in the market. Story of the movie Ghulam e Musthafa:-
The movie has started at the behest of Mahesh Verma,Shanta Prasad alias Abba,recruits Ghulam-E-Musthafa(Nana Patekar),a gangster and hit-man to carry out their nefarious activities.The Muslim youth is trained to be a killer,and grows into a quiet,lonely man who knows little more than killing,and prayer.A volatile mix,and when a chance encounter with a beautiful nightclub dancer awakens human emotion in Musthafa,he is forced to re-think his life,and how Allah expects him to live. When a car bomb, planted by a rival crime family,takes the life of his woman,Musthafa takes it as a sign from God, and sets about changing his ways.When Dayanand Dixit refuses to sell his property to Verma,Ghulam is asked to move into their house,live with them,and eventually force them to leave.Dayanand and his wife, Bhagyalaxmi,are shocked at this and initially cannot accept a Muslim male to live together with them and eat from their utensils.To make matters worse,Dayanand loses his job,his son,Vikram,is unable to secure admission in any college,and their daughter,Vidya,is unable to get anyone to marry her.Faced with these obstacles,the Dixit family must now arrive at a compromise with Ghulam and his masters or else be shunned by the rest of the community,leaving Vikram uneducated and Vidya unmarried for life.But the ending was very positive with redemption of love and humanity.[Image credit: IMDB]

Jagmohan Singh who is popularly known as Jagjit Singh was born on 8th February 1941 in

ndia is plagued with kidnappings of young children from wealthy backgrounds with their abductors demanding huge ransoms or brutally killing their victims.After the retirement of Police Commissioner Hamza Sheikh,DSP Ali Haider Jaffri takes over.Shortly after this,he displays his abilities when he successfully apprehends a gang of bank robbers-albeit by jeopardizing the life of a bank customer.Then the son of the Continental Bank Chairman, Srivastav,is abducted and held for ransom.Ali comes to know about this,intervenes,but is unable to save the child,resulting in considerable criticism of mishandling this incident.Then Ali's very own world is turned upside down when his daughter,Shagufta,who is to marry Naseerudin,the son of the Home Minister,Syed Noorudin Ahmed,is abducted along with Naseerudin.The question remains-with the lives of his loved ones in jeopardy-will Ali compromise with the kidnappers?Never it happens in Bollywood as he has completed the mission at his own risk.

Tribute to the legend S.D. Burman:-
S.D.Burman,The son of soil,prince of melody was born October 1,1906 as one of the nine children of Prince Komilla of Tripura.His father Nabadwipchandra Dev Burman,was a sitarist and dhrupad singer as well as his first teacher too.Later his training continued with Ustad Badal Khan and Bhishmadev Chattopadhyay,and this classical training gave him a firm rooting for the music that he was to compose later in life.He had explored the forests of Assam and Tripura from where he gained his formidable knowledge and rich repertoire of the folk of that region and Bengal.Later he became a disciple of Ustad Aftabuddin Khan,becoming an ace flautist,He had started his own music school,"Sur Mandir"in Calcutta in the 1930"s.He rose to be a popular singer there.He joined the illustrious K. C. Dey in the Calcutta.He started his musical career in Bengal as a singer of folk and light classical music and also composed music for the radio,which bore prominent traces of East Bengal and north-eastern folk music,music that had inspired him early in life.Dada was disgusted with materialism and the sheer commercial nature of the Mumbai film industry.Volcanic in nature, Dada decided to quit mid"way through Mashaal (1950)and return to Calcutta.Luckily he was persuaded by Dadamoni(Ashok Kumar)to stay on,though Manna Dey completed the assignment and with Burman's"Upar Gagan Vishal"(which established Manna Dey as a singer)from this film,Dada finally arrived.Dada was himself a great singer and has sung many songs in Bengali which were released during the Puja season as well as in Hindi films.Though his singing was limited after he ventured in to composing music full time,his accented voice was used for tunes that required a folk-like rendition.Dada Burman was very choosy in selecting films for scoring music.He never took too many assignments at a time.Likewise,he was very choosy in selecting the singers.It is said that he used to telephone to the singers early in the morning,study their voice indirectly while making conversation and then select.Dada was also very fond of fishing and sports,especially foot ball and tennis.Though he wore only a dhoti and kurta,his creative outlook in music was very modern in the sense that he used to blend Indian classical ragas with Western and make the tune most appealing in melody by his golden touch.He has used the flute very effectively in most of his compositions.His career never flagged till 1974 when he quit signing films from ill health.He is remembered even today,through his great compositions.This great composer attained his heavenly bliss on October 31,1975.

Story of the comedy movie Golmaal:-
Ram Prasad (Amol Palekar),a young chartered accountant and his sister Ratna,are orphans living in Bombay.One morning,an old family friend,Dr.Kedar,comes to visit him with information about a very well-paid job being advertised by Bhavani Shankar(Utpal Dutt),the owner of Urmila Trading Corporation,who happens to be Dr.Kedar's personal friend also.Bhavani approves of Ram Prasad Dashrath Prasad Sharma's moustache,oily hair and(short)kurta-pajama,and hires him.Bhavani Shankar is a bit nutty and feels young people should have no interests other than work,so when Ram Prasad wants to watch a hockey test,Ram Prasad tells him that his mother is sick to get leave.Of course, Bhavani goes to the same hockey test and spots Ram Prasad.When confronted at work,Ram Prasad tells him that he has a twin,who is good-for-nothing,who wears loud clothes and is clean-shaven and westernized.Turns out the twin knows music,so to rehabilitate him,Bhavani offers him a job teaching music to his daughter.In a hilarious chase that follows,Bhavani ends up totalling a police jeep.The Senior Inspector (Om Prakash)mistakes him for a thug named Pascal D'Costa & is about to lock him up in the jail.Only when his Inspector identifies Bhavani Shankar by his real identity is he freed.By now,a harried Bhavani has developed hatred for twin as well.On coming home,he finds that Urmila & Lucky are married.He refuses to give them blessings,until Dr.Kedar comes to the scene & explains the whole situation.Now, Bhavani becomes even more furious,but on everybody's insistence,relents.The film ends with a family photo of Mrs.Srivastav,Ratna, Urmila,Ram,Dr.Kedar,Bhavani's sister Kalindi (Shubha Khote)& Bhavani.

Story of the movie Pagla Kahin Ka:-
Sujit started having mental problems when he was six years after visiting his dad,Ajit,at a mental asylum.Thereafter he kept on getting into trouble,and even ran away from the orphanage.Years later a Musician and Singer, Shyam,found Sujit singing on the roadside,and decided to hire him as a singer in a nightclub. This is where Sujit meets dancer,Jenny,and both fall in love with each other.When they announce their plans to get married,the news does not auger well with the nightclub's owner,Max,an argument ensues,Max draws a gun,and Shyam ends up killing Max.Sujit decides to take the blame, is arrested by the police,he feigns insanity, and is ordered to be admitted in a mental asylum until he recovers.In the asylum he is placed under the compassionate care of Dr. Shalini and about one year later is discharged.
