Parsha “Kedoshim” (Leviticus chapters 19 through 21) is another one of those that most of us have heard is not just “Old” Testament, and thus “done away with,” but full of stuff that we now find insufficiently WOKE to even be allowed to discuss. Prohibitions on “sorcery” and seances and “Gay Sex” – who could imagine how bigoted and certainly some kinda-phobic that is? People will no doubt soon – when the Aliens get revealed – be punished for even reading it.

Too bad that’s no longer even hyperbole.

And ironically, while even the ‘Whore Church’ still, at least occasionally, quotes the part about “be Holy because The LORD is holy,” even if they spin that, most folks would prefer, and have been TAUGHT to, ignore what that actually means.

The Erev Shabbat reading lays out more of the details WHAT that is, and a bit of WHY it’s now, at best, passe’. More importantly, though, given what’s now ‘in-progress’ – the text makes it pretty clear it’s also deadly.

Mark begins the Sabbath Day midrash with an explanation of the title of teaching for this week, and a bit of the irony of how the word “HOLY” has come to mean pretty much the opposite of what His Words says we are to be: Set Apart. From exactly some of what we’ve been taught.

And now that the “Alien Deception” is, one way or another, in Full Swing, how will people who don’t even understand what we are to be Set Apart TO, recognize what they have already been set apart FROM, and why?

It started with what looked like more war, and an escalation. But then it got weird.

One way or another, that amounts to some type of community. We may not have much choice when it comes to some neighbors, but it’s certainly important to understand the character of those whom we may choose to come to trust.

When “times get tough” – and they not only already seem to be, but we have been told will – it may be difficult to know how even those closest to us might behave under great stress.

What can we do? And can we hope to identify, at least in part, the Remnant?

“When Faith Meets Falsehood”

As he continues in Ephesians chapter 5, Rabbi Steve Berkson untangles common misunderstandings about disobedience, sin, covenant, and what it truly means to love Messiah Yeshua.

• What are “empty words”?

• What does it mean to be “a partaker with them”?

• Who are you to “have no fellowship with”?

From there, Rabbi Berkson takes us to 1 Timothy chapter 1 and explains how some have missed the goal of the command given by Paul to his disciple, namely a clean heart, a good conscience, and a sincere belief, and have turned aside to senseless talk, some even teaching that the Torah no longer applies to us today, just that we believe and love Messiah.

Then Rabbi Berkson moves us to 2 Peter chapter 1, where we see Peter telling us that we have been given exceedingly great and precious promises by the righteousness of our Elohim and Savior Messiah Yeshua. Rabbi Berkson also points out that belief in Elohim and His Messiah is just the foundation, and that you need to “add” to that foundation certain things.
