Shabbat Zachor 5773 D’varim (Deut.) 24:19 – 25:19; Ashlamatah: I Samuel 15:1-34; Psalm 2:1-12;

N.C.: Rev. 13:11 – 14:12; 15:2-4

We opened class with talking about points from the study that fired our imagination. These are some of the things we talked about in class.

Boaz was 80 years old and Ruth 40 when they married. They had only one night together before he died and yet they produced the lineage of King David and Yeshua. The lineage of Yeshua was from a Moabitess converting to Judaism and a Judge of Israel. The marriage to Boaz earned Ruth the respect and notoriety she needed in the culture after Boaz died.

We then began to discuss the depth of So’od and how to interpret So’od. We opened to the Revelation of Messiah (the book of Revelation) and began to explicate the mystery of this “Revelation.” We compared the reception of the “Revelation” to Har Sinai showing the chain of transmission.

We learned a great deal about how to interpret So’od and how to delve deeper into the book of Revelation by understanding So’od hermeneutics.

The Nazarean Codicil (Mk 4:26-29) tells us that the earth produces without man’s comprehension as to how these things happen. The commentary to this class explains much of this idea. In this class with His Eminence Rabbi Dr. Yosef Ben Haggai is the last class with him while he is here in the United States. In this class we discussed the Festivals and Specifically New Moon and possible representations. This class looks at Messiah and the Jewish people as symbolized in the New Moon. These ideas ring true for all applicable Festivals.

We began our class with our usual discussion looking at the points of interest in the Torah Seder. We then began to look at how the Torah Seder revolved around the opening words of our Torah Seder ” And He Sent Yehudah.” The great question was, he sent Yehudah to do what? We learned that Yehudah went to build a Bet Midrash (House of Study) for Ya’aqob and his Jewish family in Egypt. We then began to look at how this was a prototypical practice for Jews in Diaspora. We looked at the Nazarean Codicil and saw Hakham Tsefet (Peter) doing the very same thing that Yehudah was doing. This opened up a discussion on Jews and gentiles in Diaspora. As usual this was a very informative class.
