i write you for a problem with my red foot. I had this tortoise from about 6 years since was a baby. In these years he has always given me some problems with eating. I am experimenting with three different stones, slate tile, flagstone, and a stepping stone which there will be a picture at the bottom for reference of thickness and texture. I haven't tried the tile yet but the other two take a bit of time to warm up and I was wondering if that's normal or if there is an optimal time you want these things to be warmed and primed for your tort, say like an hour under the heat...<br />

I have a little ~9 month old russian tortoise. <br />
Of course I've had a UVB lamp and heat lamp setup from the start. Temperature is easy to measure, but I've been worried about the UVB, since you can't really know if it's too little or too much or what (and I can't justify dropping 400€ on a Solarmeter). <br />
<br />
Well now I found someone who rents out their Solarmeter 6.5R, so that's perfect. I'm now doing some measurements with it and are running into some problems.<br />

It’s been a hot minute since I was last ever on this forum, hope all is well. For the most part once you sort everything and understand stuff looking after the tortoise isn’t “as difficult” so I’ve not needed to come on here much. <br />

Herman is doing great for the most part, yes he definitely has too small of a house right now, it’s the same one as when he was a baby but unfortunately haven’t had the space to upgrade yet (soon to change) but he doesn’t seem awfully bothered. <br />
