Eric Abidal is determined to end his career as a Barcelona player – one way or another.

The French international defender declared that if Barcelona fail to offer him a new contract, he will hang up the boots rather than play elsewhere.

Abidal said: “If the club were to propose a renewal of my Barca contract, I’d gladly accept the proposal.

“Otherwise I’ll stop playing football and I will enjoy my victories and my family. I want to end my career here.”

Mario Balotelli Welcomes Interest From AC Milan

Interesting news are out and it has been reported that Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has welcomed interest from Italian giants AC Milan.

The 20-year-old Italian international striker left Inter Milan this summer in a £22.5m transfer plus add-ons.

He is currently in Italy for a knee operation, which is expected to keep him out of action for six weeks.

When asked for his reaction to Milan’s interest, Balotelli said: “I am happy with Galliani’s words. I like Milan they are a strong team.”

Real Madrid superstar winger Cristiano Ronaldo is convinced of glory with Real Madrid under new coach Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese international is currently recovering from injury, but hopes to be available for their Champions League game with Ajax.

“Everyone knows that Mourinho is a winner and I am convinced we will win another title,” said Ronaldo.

“The aim of Madrid always is to win.

“We are a team that is under construction and if we work well we can win a lot. Barca, however, are complete, but we will fight against them until the end.”

Ronaldo added: “Since Mourinho arrived, the intensity of training is amazing and I love it. I think with him we have more chances to win titles than with another coach.”

David Beckham Set To Make LA Galaxy Return

World football superstar David Beckham is set to return to MLS action with LA Galaxy this weekend.

The 35-year old England international midfielder has been out of action since March with a ruptured Achilles tendon which he sustained whilst on loan with Italian giants AC Milan and is on the verge of a comeback.

Beckham was originally set for an October return but his training has picked up and he will almost certainly be back to take on Columbus Crew in some capacity much to the delight of his teammates and coach.

“It’s given us a boost,” defender Todd Dunivant said. “Anytime you can add someone like David Beckham to their team at this stage of the season is going to be a big plus for you.”

Head coach Bruce Arena added: “Having a player of that quality around is huge. It makes a difference. Therefore, that’s why we’re hopeful we get him to a point where he can get on the field and help us this year.”

The Galaxy currently sit on top of the Western Conference table with the equal best record in MLS just six games out from play-offs.

John Arne Riise Eager To Switch To The MLS

Interesting news are out and it has been reported that AS Roma left-back John Arne Riise has admitted he would love to play MLS.

The 29-year old Norway international full back is contracted to the Italian club until at least 2012.

The former Liverpool defender however declared that he would one day definitely consider playing professionally in the USA.

“I would just like to play there, that’s really a dream of mine,” he told Norwegian daily VG Nett.

Riise kicked off his career with homeland club Aalesund in 1998 before moving to France to join Monaco in the same year.

He then moved on to England to join Liverpool where he spent about seven years and making his name as one of the world’s best left-backs.

Giuseppe Rossi Desperate For Serie A Return

Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi has declared that he is interested in a return to the Italian Serie A.

The former Manchester United striker can no longer hide his desire to return to Italy as soon as possible.

“I really hope it can happen,” said the Villarreal striker.

“I don’t know how things went during the last transfer session.

“For me any club will do. We’ll see how things pan out in the future.

“The important thing is I am hoping to return to Serie A as soon as possible.”

According to the Mirror, sources close to the player insisted the star would do all he could to avoid a divorce, which could cost him half of his estimated £33m fortune.

One said: “He knows he has been a mug but thinks he can fix the marriage.

“Wayne loses himself in his football and does not think about anything else when he is on the pitch.

According to the Guardian, Capello is considering appointing Gerrard as the England captain on a full-time basis following the Liverpool midfielder’s impressive displays this season as a stand-in for the injured Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.

Brazilian forward Wellington Silva has declared that he wants to make an immediate impact when he links up with Arsenal in January.

The talented youngster is still just 17 but has agreed to join the Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal once he turns 18 and is permitted to leave Fluminense for a foreign club.

The forward has represented Arsenal in reserve and friendly games and after spending a month training with the club is now heading back to his native Brazil.
