On loan from Man City this season, Adebayor is surplus to requirements at his parent club. He joined Tottenham on a season long loan with the promise of changing room bust ups, a blatant lack of effort and a petulant mercenary attitude.

What we got instead was an unselfish and happy striker willing and able to bust a gut for the team, whilst scoring and providing goals.

An early goal from Ade and a second half one from Defoe gave us the win in a match that was largely a procession. It meant that with Marton Fulop making some awful mistakes over at West Brom, we stayed fourth and are now waiting on the Champions League final before our season can be declared as over.

It's now up to Chelsea and Bayern as to whether we'll be in Europe's elite competition or it's slightly retarded younger sibling, the Europa league.

With Fulham unable to do any worse than 9th, or any better than 7th, their fans are content to play an ultra attacking to go all out for the final game of the season.
They reckon a result against us could be on the cards seeing as they dominated us at Craven Cottage despite us eventually winning the game 3-1. Another reason for their confidence is down to the fact that they have no pressure, where as our lot have tons of it. They see us cracking which would lead to panic, at which point our long balls become easy to defend against.

Reports today are quoting Benoit Assou-Ekotto as saying that he is looking to move on from Spurs. As always, a bit of context is required. The questions below are from two interviews that Benny has given recently that the British media has jumped on. Benny has been praised for his honesty during his time at Spurs and we shouldn't be surprised when he says he may need to move on if his career isn't progressing.

Even though he does say the things he is reported to have, he does talk about how he loves the Premiership and doesn't want to move out of London, the past, present and future of Spurs as well. The final home game for Villa this season sees their fans not exactly confident at picking up what would be only their fifth home win of the season. There are rumours of a protest before and after the game that may or may not have been cancelled, but it's definitely driving a wedge between the fans who would rather get behind the team at this late stage and those who want to make their feelings clear to the board.

For what it's worth, I think a team in Villa's situation with just two games to go will achieve nothing by creating a negative atmosphere with protests. As one fan pointed out an early goal will be crucial for both sides. If Villa get it, the fans will calm down and support the team, if Spurs get it, the Villa fans will get on their players backs big time.

If the Blackburn game was a stepping stone to form, this was the realisation of it. Except for 15 or so minutes at the start of the second half, this was another game in which Spurs dominated, but this time the slick play of the first half of the season shone through as we tore Bolton apart in the space of ten minutes.

They have a game in hand over most of their relegation rivals, so their fans don't see this as too much of a do or die match. A fairly easy win against a Blackburn side who deserve nothing but relegation. Sandro was so disgusted at Blackburn's lack of effort he threw up in their penalty area at one point, as if in an attempt to force them out of their own half with the smell. They were completely unwilling to mount any sort of attack, even at one and two nil down and you could see why the frustrated Blackburn fans were chanting "Venky's Out" and the ironic "Steve Kean for England".

Spurs absolutely dominated the match, as Blackburn just put 11 men behind the ball. Normally a good tactic against Spurs at home, but not on this occasion.

Despite our own troubles recently, the Blackburn fans are not at all confident of snatching a win. Suggestion for A New Spurs Song at the Lane

I was sent a request by the long suffering Spurs fan I go to the games with. Can I get a campaign started to change the usual song we sing at the lane from, "Oh When the Spurs Go Marching In", to instead have "Send in the Clowns"?

His reasoning: It's a sad enough tune to reflect the current mood and in many places it's lyrically accurate. And in recent months I certainly feel like I'm at the circus when watching this bunch of slapstick muppets.

For those of you who have never heard of the song. It does exist. Here are the lyrics, and as I've just found, they are indeed highly appropriate for Spurs in places...

Conspiracy Theory or Fact: Redknapp is Ruining Spurs on Purpose...

Explained: All Possible Spurs Finishing Positions & European Competitions

What happens if Chelsea win the Champions League and finish outside the top 4?
If Chelsea win the Champions League final then they will automatically qualify for next year's competition, taking the place of the team that finishes fourth in the league. Meaning that only the top three in the Premier League plus Chelsea would get Champions League football next season.

What happens with Europa League places if Chelsea win the Champions League and finish outside of the top 4?
If that were to happen, the team that finishes fourth would qualify for the lesser Europa league instead. Another Europa league spot is available for the winner of the FA Cup final and seeing as though it is between Chelsea and Liverpool, who will already have a European place (Liverpool for winning the Carling Cup, Chelsea for hypothetically winning the Champions League), a Europa league spot would be awarded to whoever finishes highest outside the top four, who isn't Chelsea.

What if Chelsea finish 4th and win the Champions League?
Same as what would happen if they finished top 4 and didn't win the Champions League. 5th and 6th would be awarded Europa League spots.

What happens if Chelsea finish in 3rd?!
Again, regardless of whether or not they go onto win the Champions League, 4th place will get Champions League, 5th and 6th will get Europa.

Bottom line, we need to finish 3rd to guarantee Champions League. Finish 4th and we have to hope Chelsea lose the Champions League Final. Finish 5th or 6th and we get Europa league regardless. Continue our cataclysmic implosion, lose all remaining games and see Everton win all remaining games, we finish 7th and have no Europe at all.

To re-cap then...
3rd - Guaranteed Champions League
4th - Champions League IF Chelsea lose the CL final. Europa League IF they win it.
5th - Europa League
6th - Europa League
7th - Diddly Squat.

The Many Faces of Kyle Walker

As you may have heard, Tottenham right back Kyle Walker has been named the PFA Young Player of the Year. This season has seen Kyle cement his position in the Spurs side and make his full England debut against Spain. His first start for England was against Sweden, a game in which he picked up the man of the match award.

Much like Gareth Bale winning the PFA player of the year award last year, Kyle has had a flying start to the season and has dropped off slightly with the rest of the squad.

Picking up his award last night, Kyle looked over the moon.

This game could not be more important, for both sides. We are on the cusp of slipping out of the top four and QPR are on the cusp of slipping into the relegation zone. The fans are nervous and they expect the players to be tense as well. The mood is similar to our own at the moment, with early season elation being replaced with fear and depression,

"I thought Liverpool game was a turning point. It gave us half a chance of getting out of trouble then beating Arsenal made me believe. I was disappointed against WBA and now feel we are back to square one especially after Wigan beating Arsenal."

"We've said it a few times before this season.... but this game really is make or break for us."

A cagey first half in which Spurs had the better chances. Rafa had a header cleared off the line by Terry, and hit the post a bit later on after Ade failed to turn in the simplest of crosses.

Then all of a sudden Chelsea hoof the ball up to Drogba who holds off Gallas, turns him easily and lashes it past Cudicini into the top corner. 0-1

What a shambles. I don't usually Harry bash on here, and when he does make mistakes I usually point out that with the benefit of hindsight, we'd all be world class managers. But what sort of idiot plays a 442 formation, and then admits he could see we were getting overrun and that there was too much space for Norwich? Yet despite us being obviously screwed from the first minute, keeps it 442 until the 71st?

Too often he sets up the team wrong and leaves blatant substitutions too late, and with only one win in our last eight he is adding fuel to the fire of the anti-Harry brigade.
