Following the fantastic success of our previous events we are seeking entries from all teams or individuals interested in competing at this event. \\r\\n\\r\\nTeams from across Asia are coming including reps from New Zealand, and we are expecting an exciting mix of local and international sides to turn out. A training session will be held on the Friday for those that are interested.\\r\\n\\r\\nThis year’s tournament is to be played at the JiangWan Stadium with the finals played under lights – http://www.kic.net.cn/kic/eng/kic_sport.jsp Shanghai is a vibrant and exotic destination and this is a top class facility.\\r\\n\\r\\nSO GET YOUR ENTRY IN EARLY! FINAL ENTRIES CLOSE 10 OCTOBER2008!\\r\\n\\r\\nEntries are welcome for all categories, Open, Masters (35+), Women’s, Junior’s and mixed teams (though the final format will be dependent on the mix of the entries). The tournament will be contested under International Touch rules with teams of six players per side. Dear fellow Touchies!

We are getting closer to the third International Touch Seoul and this year we plan it to be bigger and better than before and we very much hope that you will be there, making it happen!

ITS 2008 will take place on September 20 at the Korea Military Academy, Taerung, Seoul S. Korea. We’ll have a big tournament with Men’s, Mixed and Women’s sections, as well as a Junior competition for youngsters aged 7-17 years.
Once again, we are inviting you to get involved and we really hope that you’ll come along, bring your teams and help to make the tournament a massive sporting and social success.

There’s still no touch this Saturday 2nd August and you’ll have to wait till the 9th again for a Saturday run, midweeks are going strong and the heavy warm rain made for a great run this week.

All those who want to go to Seoul for the tournament below is the invitation we recieved, you can check the website for more info. We need starters for this comp so get your mates charged up and let us know who is coming. 10-12 people is all thats needed.

Touch Rugby in Shanghai

Touch Rugby is still active and going well in Shanghai. There is no Spring League as such this year but look forward to a possible Autumn League in the build up to the Shanghai International Touch Comp.

Currently Touch is played at Jinqiao at 3-5pm on a Saturday. Things are starting to gain momentum so watch this space. Also, the Asian Club Championships were on this weekend. Results to come soon!

Touch is on this Saturday at Jinqiao (corner of BiYun Lu and Lan’An Lu, opposite Carrefour) from 3pm to 5pm.Nurse will be onsite. The Hk Inter Cities Touch Tournment is on again this year - Sat April 26th. Teams from all over Asia will again be competing in this well organised competition and social event. We are looking to send a team from Shanghai to compete in the mixed and depending on numbers the mens division also. Touch is on at a new time slot

Dear Touch fans,

Touch will begin at Jinqiao again starting this Saturday in a new time slot of 3-5 pm.

Free of charge for card carrying SRFC members . 50 rmb for non members to help cover the field hire.

Note that there are no facilities available. For those who can’t hold on we will probably have to make use of the public facilities by the Blue Frog or similar.

Will try and get some water and things organised but suggest that you might like to bring your own supplies.

We should have this time at the ground for the foreseeable future with the exception of some block out days which we will keep you informed about.

A hard find

This is one clip that took ages to find. It is Christian Cullen taking on the Fijians in Rugby Sevens from his own in zone. It looks all so easy but that is what pro do. Make things look easy.

Just a touch of the good old times as the Sevens are in Wellington this weekend. Actually yesterday and today. The weather in Shanghai and throughout China for that matter has been pretty dreadful. The coldest in 60 years they say. Sounds like the perfect time to hit the warmth of an indoor gym and work on that cardio. Let’s hope the airports reopen soon.
