Fashion has always been different and dynamic. Never stagnant, always re-inventing. However we have seen some crazy moments when its come to the runway. Be it outrageous or super lovable, we've almost seen it all, and there's more to come. With artists like Lady Gaga and Rihanna experimenting with the most extreme types of attire and looks, we do have celebs like K-Stew who sometimes wear disastrous outfits. But at the end it all adds up to the Fashion scene making the best and worst and giving scope for invention.

In this post, I basically want to show you'll some of the most creepy and distinct fashion that I've come across. I will be giving my feedback about the fashion and what you have to do is this. In the comment section at the end of the post, write the name of each look and write: Creepy, So-So or Fabulous according to what you feel about the look.

1. Cards on clothes

Let me warn you. This dress showcased at the 'Ashish Show' during the London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2009 was weird. In fact the day I saw it I went: HAW? I mean, who would wear this? Maybe someone would. But let me tell you, this is one of the most subtle dresses out of all that are yet to come. In fact its pretty normal compared to the rest.

Rating: So- So

2. Breakfast on the Runway

This look by Agatha Ruiz De La Prada is nothing but weird. The headband is probably a piece of load and the dress is a table mat with eggs on it? Really? What was the designer thinking? While people may say it is really bold, I think it is outrageously annoying. In fact I couldn't even look at it after a while. I actually like the hair and makeup but so not digging the breakfast on clothes look.

Rating: Creepy

3. Marilyn Inspired Tangerine

While we all the the famous Marilyn Monroe fluttering dress story, this dress was probably inspired by it.
Seen at the Agatha Ruiz De La Prada show at Madrid Fashion Week in 2009, it was called Anti Gravity.
While I'm completely loving the earrings and the sunglasses, I totally detest the dress. I like the colour, but not the pattern. Maybe something a little more different probably?

Rating: So-So

4. Over the Hat

This look spotted at the Viaduct Harbour Village Marine show during the Air NZ Fashion week has blown me away. With being innovative, the designer kept in mind some sanity. The hat is OTT but I think someone like Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj would carry it off very well. I also love the glimmer and glitter all over. Very pretty yet weirdesque.

Rating: Fabulous

5. MJ is here

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac displayed this in their collection during Fall 2009. Don't you think its a mastermind of a piece. I love how well its been crafted and thought out. While the hair is a little bit creepy, I think I adore the shirt idea with the ruffles and all of that. Brilliant stuff! Or Maybe it just looks good on the model? However I like it.

Rating: Fabulous

6. Celebrities take the name

Some of the weird looks contributed by celebrities. Some celebs like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj like experimenting and they actually have stepped out for major events in some of the weirdest dresses of all time. Here's a recap of some of the most controversial.

Grammy 2012:

Sasha Gradiva's pink gown would have otherwise been bearable if it wasnt for the machine gun arm piece that's just creepy and attention seeking.

Bonnie McKee actually carried the colour off well, however there's something weird about the dress.

Nicki Minaj wore this custom made Versace and reminded everyone of Gaga. I have nothing to say about this outfit.

Fergie's see through Gaultier was the most talked about with hi-5s and low-5s. I personally loved the colour, hated the dress.

Robyn wore this mullet keeping trends in mind however I don't like how she wore it. On the other hand, stunner shoes.

Rating: Creepy

Katy Perry was seen in this Manish Arora Carousel dress at an event. I actually didn't like the dress when I first saw it. However, I completely love how Katy's worn it. Definitely a stunner. She looks adorably cute in it.

Rating: Fabulous

7. Lady Gaga

When someone says weird and fashion, anyone automatically connects Gaga to it and she'll probably love them for it. So here's some of Gaga's craziest and funkiest looks ever.

She wore this look at the VMAs and honestly it reminds me of a bird's nest. I think it is OTT and maybe the cuffs are brilliant but the head gear is a no no

Rating: Creepy

She wore this Red outfit to the VMA too as one of her changes. I love the head gear actually, but why cover her face? Anyhow, I think its moderate.

Rating: So-So

Now this look is absolutely beautiful. I think the whole structure defines her body very well, the shoulders look fab. Also the hair is brilliant. And the black nail colour. But the shades look like the ones people wear after cataract. However we can ignore that right?

Rating: Fabulous

This next outfit is something only she would be able to carry off. In fact I can't imagine anyone else looking good in it. I love the bow hair and how she's kept it relatively simple. One of her sanest outfits. Brilliance in black.

Rating: Fabulous

This outfit was worn when she bagged some awards. I love the dress and I think its very beautiful. All the glitter and glamour is amazing on her. And her make up is surprisingly not scary. But I don't know what I think of the head gear. Its just plain weird. However being Gaga she has to do something like that eh?

I can't look at this next outfit. Really can't. Its disgusting me already. Seriously? I have nothing to say. Except I will have nightmares tonight.

Rating: Creepy

That was a summary of some weird outfits that we have seen all over the place. But I think if I was to do all of them it'll take me an entire blog to do it. So I'll stop here.

I held my breath, waiting to see your face. In all truth I'd not only imagined how this moment would be, I'd also gone over the possible scenarios over a hundred times. When you appeared it took a moment to actually digest the fact that I was seeing you. You were nothing like my head had made you look like. In fact you were a lot more than I thought you'd be. Smiling, you walked towards me. What amazed me was the fact that you recognized me? We'd never met, or even exchanged pictures but you still spotted me amidst the five hundred something people walking back and forth in the station. You stood in front of me and it was like a dream. I could hardly believe that you were actually real. I'd begun to think that you were a figment of my imagination.

And then you took my hands in yours and held it firmly and then we walked for what seemed like forever.

That was how I remembered our first meeting. You were always exceptionally dream like. Your walk reminded me of a bird flying in the sky. Your smile was like a zillion candles lit. But most of all your heart was as clean as an ocean beyond the space. But above all of that, you were 'human' (As I define it: A person with a mind, heart and soul.). Probably the kindest I've seen, the warmest ever, the most helpful and that is what had me head over heels in love with you. This may seem unbelievable to read but it is what I felt every minute that I spent with you.

I could never forget the times you've protected me from the storm and the evil. You've fought for me with the best and the worst. Told me certain secrets, enlightened me about facts. You were my everything, literally. Because I had nothing left otherwise. I'm really sorry I couldn't give us the kid we'd dreamed of for years together. We tried. I tried, but it was not meant to be. However I must say that you've always been the husband any wife would ever want. Understanding and supportive are some of the slightest adjectives I could use, because you were something a lot more than words itself.

I can see you crying and I won't stop you because I would have too. Its the love we had for each other. This may seem cliche to an onlooker but I don't care, after all we always lived for ourselves. You told me every single night, holding me in your arms that I won't need to work. But I'm sure you understand my love for it and that all I had before you was my work, giving it up wasn't an option. In spite of the dangers it involved, I never felt threatened. Until 2 weeks back. I didn't think it was a good idea to tell you about it. We told each other everything, almost. But this I couldn't bear telling you, because I knew you'd go after them. The ones sending me threatening messages and the ones calling home leaving blank calls. But that would come in the way of my work. I had to expose their identity, and even if it meant sacrifice. Now, they are probably in the hands of the police and that's good right? Please tell me I did the right thing? I know you might have thought it was stupid that I went after someone who threatened to kill me, but I did it for a cause. It was me or 1000 other people.

If you are reading this letter, I'm no more. But it was meant to be, because sacrificing yourself for a state you love is nothing cowardly. In fact I'm sure you are proud of me. I won't tell you to move on because I know you can't. I won't tell you to go to work tomorrow, because I know you can't. I won't tell you to stay in the same apartment, because I know you can't. But all I ask is that you hold yourself tight because I believe you can.

Honey, you have made life worthwhile and death worthwhile too. You have been the rock I've fallen on and gotten support, the one I reached out for when I needed a shoulder to cry on and above all you've been my dear lover and husband. And to that I owe this letter. To my soul. To you.

I won't say I'll love you forever because it seems forever does not exist. But I will say: 'I loved you yesterday, love you today and will love you tomorrow.'

A different 'Happily ever after'

As kids, we are made to believe many things. Whether that’s “Santa gives you a gift if you are a good child” or “And she lived happily ever after”. But when we grow up and start living on our own terms do we actually realize that most of the things we read or are told as kids hardly exist in the realm that we live in. Or rather, we were told certain things just to protect us from the bitter reality of it.

Parenting skills are not in question here, but the society as a whole and the thought that as children one should believe everything is happy and there is no sorrow in the world. It is hard to understand how we expect these very children to battle out their problems as they grow up. How can we face our problems if we weren’t exposed to them ever?

But then again another question is popped: ‘Who is the society?’ and the truth is that we are the society and are wholly responsible for the fact that even today, with all the problems that the world is going through, we still tell children that ‘happy endings always exist’!

So you might be rolling your eyes, assuming that I’m just a cynical person but the fact is that this not cynicism but reality, it is the world as it is on paper. We have all these fairytale movies for children and books and something that’s common to all of them is that they begin with ‘Once upon a time’ and end with ‘Happily ever after’ and of course they talk of white horses, charming and valiant princes, beautiful pretty haired princesses and cruel people who come in the way of supposed true love. But who prepares children who read all this for the fact that maybe their ‘Prince’ might just leave them one fine day, or maybe they won’t have a ‘white horse’?

I think that if we prepare ourselves for what might come and think that we are capable enough to deal with the worst then even if it doesn’t come along we’ll be strong enough to face it. Because who actually knows what’s going to happen tomorrow?

Often, when I watch such movies, I am overwhelmed and sometimes get carried away but then I am struck with a thought that none of that is real. To talk about it, I used to be one of those fairytale believing people, called myself a princess and all that, but looking at it now I just find it humourous.

What I am trying to say is that: ‘In life we don’t just have brilliant people and cruel people. What about the normal people? The friend, the driver, the vegetable vendor, the security guard, the teacher, the person who unknowingly gave you important advice etc…Why don’t movies talk about them? Why is it that we are made to believe a certain thing when life can throw completely different coloured oranges at you?

Maybe we should start telling children different stories, stories which aren’t false hopes, but folk tales, and tales of our today.

Life is not about sitting on a high tower waiting to be rescued by some hot looking guy. It is about living it on your terms, struggling, getting through exams, difficulties, break ups, fights and still reaching the heights you wish to. THAT I believe is the ‘Happily ever after’ we talk about.

Maybe we are talking about the wrong 'Happy Endings', we just have to change our way of looking at things right?

How many times do we hear that people commit suicides. Everyday we see cases of suicidal deaths because one is not emotionally strong enough to deal with problems they are facing.

Know anyone who is facing personal issues or basically needs someone to talk? Someone to turn to for help? Someone to ask if they are on the right track?

Here is where SAHAI comes into force. Read on to know what they do.

Our dedicated, trained volunteer counsellors are available to answer your calls between 10.00 a.m. & 6.00 p.m., from Monday through to Saturday. All calls are confidential and privacy is assured. Whether it is facing problems with your family, in school, at work or with your friends,Sahai Counsellors will give you their undivided attention and will guide you. And, when you're ready, SAHAI will help you find a long-term solution to your problems, through telephone counselling.

Sahai volunteers will help and equip you with the skills,needed to cope with distressing situations of life like loss, failure, broken relationships or the ever-increasing demands of today's fast-paced life. SAHAI volunteers are homemakers, professionals and college students - people from all walks of life who are committed to saving lives.

SAHAI volunteers undergo 30 hours of suicide prevention training conducted by professionals from NIMHANS and the Medico Pastoral Association, along with Rotary Bangalore East, three of the help line's founding partners. Volunteers are trained to help each caller ventilate, to respond without judging, and to guide the caller to address their problem. Volunteers learn how to listen pro-actively, and to recognize and assess signs of stress and depression.

I've always wanted to work with such an NGO and SAHAI seems to be the perfect platform. Indeed I think writing this blogpost might make a change to someone's life out there. This is the least I could do.

A shopping experience at Craftsvilla.

Brilliant people of the world, hear me?

Craftsvilla (craftsvilla.com) is an online retail store that exclusively sells Indian Handmade products online. As you know we had a giveaway in association with Craftsvilla a few days back, today I will be telling you about their website. A review of sorts, as to how the delivery etc is.

The website also has features like: Discovering through craft, colour, price or shops. It also gives you a platform to showcase your handcrafted products if you are a retailer.

When I had to choose something to get for myself I was rather thrown with many options. The products are plenty because of a variety of brands. The website is a host to a lot of brands that make these products all hand crafted and I was seriously in a fix as to what I should order, however I ended up getting a bag and a pencil pouch because I found them to be eternally cute.

They have various things from home products to creams to jewelry, they seem to have mastered the art of having it all. Especially since everything is hand made it doubles up the love and the product becomes that much more lovely. You can find things from Rs 100 to Rs 5000 and more, so there's something for everybody's needs. Be it your father, mother or even your granny!

I placed my order on May 11 and instantly received a mail regarding the order confirmation. The thing is, once you place an order it reaches the retailer of the particular product so when you order different things from different products they arrive at various timings. I placed my order with two different companies and hence one was sent on May 14 and one on May 16. I received both of them within 2 days of dispatch and I think that is pretty good right? Also, it was packed neatly and I must say I was pretty impressed with the quality of the products.

Also usually things we see are different from how they are when we receive them but here it was exactly how I saw it when I ordered it, so that's a plus point!

Pros:

1. A variety of things to choose from for everyone

2. Price range is huge so you can definitely find something for your budget

3. Cash on Delivery is available! (for certain brands)

4. The courier service used is quite trustworthy and they delivered the products safely too.

5. The products come neatly wrapped, hence no worry of breakage.

6. All products are truly handcrafted and are actually worth every penny.

Cons:

1. The products from different brands arrive at separate timings

2. COD is not available for all brands!

So you see? 6 pros and 2 cons? What does that mean? We can pretty much ignore the cons right? This website is sure to go a long way because of their brilliant service.

Take over the Mint.

I'm so bored of saying hello everytime, I think I'll say: Hoooooooooyaaaa wonderful people. Anyhow, you know how I've not done an outfit post in a really long time and I felt like I had to get out of my lazy mood and shoot one. However I've been really sick for the past two days Fever, headache and all that crap. On the bright side I've been writing a lot and I'm really glad its been appreciated.

Lately all I do is watch Pretty Little Liars and Sex and the City on ZCafe and CBS Love. Ah! The bliss of holidays, I hope it goes on forever. Seriously? And results are out next Wednesday and I can't stop freaking out. People on twitter have been really sweet and they kept telling me it'll be fine but I can't stop worrying. Damn, it needs to get over fast.

Minty hues have been a favourite this year, I've practically raided and re-raided my closet to pick out the minty colours and wear them with different colour combinations and try out variations. This post has a minty shade too but this time I wore it with black and green. So please do ignore the frowny expressions: I've been drained of my energy. Jeggings are a favourite when it comes to summer because its light yet looks utterly stylish and gives a denim effect, so here I wore my blackish grey jeggings with the mint top and paired it with a shrug. More after the pictures.

I know the bun looks absolutely weird in the first picture but trust me I received a lot of compliments for it and not only is it comfortable for the scorching heat but also its really chic and goes with almost everything. So I went for this high messy bun with this outfit. The tribalesque bangle and huge ring add to the statement that this outfit aims to make.

How to style your jeggings?

This is a dilemma that many often face and I would say its the most easiest thing because its like styling your denims but there are certain differences because of the material. Smitha asked me via mail a long time back how to style her jeggings to college so here's some tips.

1. Always wear your jeggings with longer tops or tunics.

2. Say a no to shirts or tee shirts because jeggings hug the body and you don't wanna look vulgar.

3. Wear contrasting colours and colour block with jeggings because they're fun and go with almost all colours.

4. You can also wear your kurtas with jeggings to college to make it look stylish.

5. Pairing a dress and re-using it as a tunic on a jegging would be a good deal!

6. If you are on the heavier side lean towards longer tops like I usually do, but sometimes its okay to experiment with shorter tunics like the above one.

7. Since jeggings are subtle and not too loud have fun with the accessories and shoes.

8. Asymmetrical tops would be a yes with jeggings because they're long at the back and that is what we're aiming at, so if you have toned thighs no harm showing them off.

9. Carry it off in style.

That's the book I'm reading: Stories of Eva Luna by Isabel Allende, it seems to be brilliant and portrays the narrating skills of a person and how wonderfully she can weave stories to her lover.

Anyway, still halfway through. Oh and something else I adore about holidays is the fact that I can leisurely read to my own whims and fancies. Its fabulous as to how much I've been reading over the past few weeks.

Music Monday - 2.

Hello folks,

Back with Music Monday on this bright awesome Monday. I know people hate Mondays but the very purpose of Music Monday is to make Mondays fun and melodious. So this week I have a few more lovely songs for you'll to listen to.

1. Ariana Grande- Put your hearts up

Discovering Ariana was truly by chance. Saw her in the side bar of suggested music while browsing through a list of my favourite youtube music videos and wanted to see her gown so clicked on it. However, turned out that the song was very chirpy and beautiful. Yes, a song that's beautiful. Its scenic and pretty and I truly love the asymmetrical gown but she's an artist that seems like all pink and girly so if you aren't for that type you might not like it. However give it a hear because the lyrics are utterly sweet.

A good hear for a boring Monday Morning!

2. Rihanna- Where Have You Been

Clearly women are dominating my Music Monday this week. Rihanna never fails to surprise me as she always looks so effortless but stylish. Her videos are definitely rocking always and take the world by storm. She's bold, daring and still herself. All this comes by nature to her and you can see it. This song is just another blaster. A tornado like one that starts and ends soon and you'll be left in awe. Her costumes are just out of the world.

At 0.53 what she wears is just so funky and nice. Also the dance is adorably funny and lovely. Tribalesque. Also one would fall short of adjectives to describe her.

At 1.43 observe her eye makeup and hairdo, lovely. Fierce yeah. The dance is just fabulous, so going to learn it up.

However from 3:00 the video and dance becomes a little vulgar and I don't like that part, but you can enjoy the music still!

That's all I have for you today. Two songs by two amazing ladies. Next week we'll see more and hear more I hope. :)

He pushed me and my face hit the ground. I could feel the blood gushing to my nose and oozing out, I was bleeding. He pulled my collar and lifted me up. ‘Don’t ever sit in ‘my chair stupid boy’ he said confidently giving me evil glares

*Pinch* Oh it is reality? Yes, bullies still exist. They always have and probably someday Super Saver will get rid of every one of them. Yes, I’ve heard of a kazillion cases of bullying but hardly do I hear standing up to a bully cases. Maybe after all we need to educate everyone that “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” (Eleanor Roosevelt).

Every minute children are succumbing to pressure and taking up to suicide and drug abuse because of inability to deal with the pressure. The fear that talking will get them in trouble, after all it is nothing less than the threatening killer who’s asking for a ransom, except here the bully is threatening you and just getting sadistic joy in it.

It is easy to say, ‘Open up, stand up to him’ but how easy is it to actually implement? If someone came and pushed you down or hit you to a wall tomorrow, would you actually stand up to them and tell them they can’t treat you like that, or would you fear another beating and live in silence. Though the first should be our answer, many take up the latter.

Bullying can range from snatching your pen in class, or eating up your lunch every day. Severe cases could be threatening you to take blame for someone else’s mistake, or even forcing you to do drugs. See? I know many instances where people take up to smoking or drug abuse because of bullying. Their peer would probably tell them that if they disobey, they would be socially humiliated and hence a scared teen takes up to bad habits.

It is something that has been a part of our society since ancient times and has morphed into different forms over a period of time but the root cause will always be the same.

Bullying could totally devastate your life. But why give the reigns of your wonderful life to some third or even fourth person to control? Who are they? Is it that intimidating to snatch it back from them and take charge of yourself? No. It isn’t. Mind control and self confidence is your solution. Believe that you are great and you have it in you to face the bully and I’m sure that soon, you might even be able to reform him.

The next time someone pushes you out of a seat in a bus, or tells you to give your bat to them, tell them you won’t. Be so sure of yourself and don’t fumble when you say it. Take that bully by surprise, and soon they won’t dare come near you.

After all, everyone can change. But all it takes is ‘You’ to bring about the change. You can change it, for the better. Maybe tomorrow, your child won’t have to go through it. Do something today, it might just be gone tomorrow.

Stand up for yourself, against the bully. You can do it.

MET Ball 2012- An Insight

The MET Ball or the MET Gala is often known as the mother of all Red Carpets (I just made that up). Anyway, it is supposedly the Oscars of the East Coast and the who's who of the industry definitely make it a point to attend it. It is an annual ball practically that celebrates the opening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute.

Beyonce looked stunning in this Givenchy Haute Couture gown and showed off her post baby curves. I absolutely love how the gown looks on her and the side pulled back hairdo goes well! The purple feathers look pretty nice on her too and the coralesque lips are pretty.

Scarlett Johansson in a Dolce and Gabbana gown, with the tulle skirt looks perfect. (However I don't like her tulle that much. The upper half had me blown away) The red lips, messy hair, deep neckline and jewels just does everything for her. This girl got it 10 on 10 and she's on my Top 5 list. Love what she's wearing. Can you believe those are Fred Leighton jewels? Like omg! And her confidence is magnificent! She's a beauty.

Carey Mulligan in a two tone Prada dress. Okay, she looks like a disco ball. I think she should have worn this to a party instead? In fact she did, the after party saw her shining in this and it looked good then! Nonetheless, the shoes are fine. Too pointy, but fine.

Diane Kruger in a Prada Gown and it has ostrich feathers at its hemline? Seriously? Somehow, purple has never been the red carpet colour. I'm not a fan of what she's wearing either, doesn't look great on her, infact I don't like the dress much it self!

Thank God for Florence Welch! So there still are some people who haven't entirely gone blind and forgotten where they were headed to. She wore an Alexander McQueen and look at it. Gorgeous is all I can manage. Gosh, its such a girly lovely dress. I'd definitely wear it all day. however I think she's really lucky she carries it off so well, not everyone would be able to. So prettttty. Eeeeep.

Someone save us? What happened to her? Look at this. I know she tried asymmetry in this short dress but I so don't like the peeking boob, its so desperate. This is actually a Prada gown but so not liking how it looks. But before I could flip I zoomed and saw those shoes and I literally fainted. Dazzling. And the Anna Hu earrings are very classy too, just should have worn a better gown Gwyneth Paltrow!

Rihanna wore this backless gown by Tom Ford. At first I wasn't impressed but on closer look I was really happy. It actually look pretty good on her, not one of her bests but still better than many others. I completely adore the Loubs however. Pointed, black and brilliant! However, contradicting myself I think you kinda like it when you keep looking at it. The backless part is very nice and then you start liking the funky hairdo and then you are like Kudos Rihanna! :P LOL.

I don't know if I'm partial to her because she's one of my favourites or what, but I like what she's wearing. Sarah Jessica Parker arrived in this floral Valentino which turned out crushed at the bottom but I still like how she's striding confidently in it. You have to adore the smile she wears always and she actually carries this off very well. I love the dangly earrings too.

Leighton Meester decided that she wanted to go for trends and she wore this nude tulle dress by Marchesa which was very pretty. The red lipstick seems to be a celeb fav with nude. Anyhow, I actually like her tulle as compared to Scarlett's. She has this feminine look and this gown would look good on no one but her, so yaay for that. Very pretty Leighton.

Gisele Bundchen arrives at the even in this Givenchy Haute Couture gown. She's actually gone safe and worn black but I like the strappy shoes and the blingy gown. Its nice, but she played it safe I feel. However love the neat pulled back hairdo.

Just look at Eva Mendes in this strapless Prada gown. That embellished bodice is just stunning! And I like how the colour of the gown compliments her skin. Surprisingly looks great with the red carpet too. Woah. She's got it right. I'm so glad she didn't wear a neck piece and spoil it or anything. Lovely.

Emma Roberts chose to wear this bright yellow Escada gown. If you notice, it has a slight peplum hint. Somehow I'm wondering why its so crushed, looks like she sat in it real long. However we can forgive her right? I actually like the colour on her pale skin and the hairdos fine. But she could have done better! The clutch is fab though.

Jessica Alba decided to rock the carpet in this Michael Kors metallic gown and I love it. Somehow it spells classy more than partyish. And the accessories and the side swept hairstyle are all just right. She is one of my favourites at the event. And everything about this is just fab, I definitely am digging it! I think its because of the gold hue and the red lipstick again. Very Jessica! Very stylish and classy.

Renee Zellweger wore this sheer Emilio Pucci gown that was custom made and I love it. I like how its sheet at the right places, doesn't look vulgar, looks amazingly beautiful and I love the backless part too. Also liking the earrings and everything about it practically. Very pretty and the geometric shapes on it look stylish and add to the beauty of it!

My absolute favourite was Nina Dobrev in this Donna Karen Atelier gown. She looks like a freaking goddess. I mean look at that, she's beautiful in that gown. And the train was just stunning. The peek a boo boob can completely be ignored considering she's made the right choice with the gown. I love how she's left it plain only keeping it to the gown because it deserves all the attention. She's so gotta be on the best dressed list because she truly made it look royal. Hi5!

Trends at the MET Gala 2012:

The MET Gala saw a lot of bright colours with celebs like Eva Mendes, Solange Knowles, Emma Roberts sporting it, it also saw a lot of peplum in these celebs. They are clearly loving the peplum trend. While some of them carried it off very well, some clearly didn't.

Dianna Argon, Lena Dunham and Greta Gerwing wore hues of emerald green and everyone loved it, so we definitely can see a lot of greens this season. Very classy and eye catching. I am definitely a fan of the colour and glad that its in trend too!

Feathers have been a trend for a long time now and it looks like its going to keep going. While Beyonce looked effortlessly chic sporting the trend, I wasn't a fan of Diane Kruger. So keep your feathers in stock, be it extensions or dresses.

Prints were a favourite but none of them seemed to carry it off even close to good. In fact I can hardly decide who looks worst? All of them are probably making it to the worst dressed list. Sorry girls, next time hire a stylist.

The Long Black Gown was seen a lot and the likes of Rihanna and Gisele opted for it. I think everyone manages to look good in black so its always going to be around. Hurrah to that eh?

The Red Carpet also saw a lot of bright dramatic lipstick trends in Camille Belle, Lana Del Rey and Jessica Alba. Even Scarlett wore a dramatic hued lipstick. So don't let go of your maroon, red and other brilliant bright lipstick colours. A personal favourite and all of them looked brilliant in it!

While my favourites would undoubtedly be Nina Dobrev, Scarlett Johansson, Florence Welch, Rihanna and Jessica Alba in no particular order.

The Devotion of Suspect X.

The Devotion of Suspect X is a Japanese crime fiction novel by Keigo Higashino. It is a part of the Galileo detective series (which I was unaware of earlier). Frankly speaking I had not much hope from this book because 'crime' is not my forte, however currently my thoughts say otherwise.

The book revolves around main characters Tetsuya Ishigami, Yasuka Hanaoka and Manabu Yukawa. However, other equally important characters include Misato Hanaoka, Detective Kusangi, Shinji Togashi. The book begins with an insight into the daily life and habits of Ishigami and Yasuka which was a little monotonous because I hardly knew what to expect from the book, but apparently all of it turned out to be for good reason.

I'm definitely not going to talk much about the story because I don't want to spoil it for you but all I will say is that being a Crime Fiction it definitely involves a murder and its a one of a type. Often people wait for the murder to be caught but in this case the portrayal of the characters is as such that one begins to take the side of the murders for good cause rather than detectives.

The story moves at a progressively fast rate once the murder happens and from then on the excitement gets higher. While the murder is committed by Yasuka Hanaoka, her neighbour Ishigami gets involved in it and ends up being the devoted suspect. Manabu Yukawa is an ex classmate of Ishigami and also helps detective Kusangi on his cases, hence he tries his level best poking his nose around discovering the true criminal. The best part about the story is that traditionally, one is unaware of the murderer (as seen in most crime fiction books), but in this one you are led through the path of how the detectives discover the murderer.

What's surprisingly pleasant is that the author has well thought out and planned the novel and is a true genius himself. Plotting and planning all schemes, only makes you believe in the book and the crime even more. One definitely will have a soft corner for the criminals in spite of their actions. Every words and plan that Ishigami schemes out for Misato and Yasuka is a mastermind in itself.

The writing style is simple yet strong and comes across as a well written book. Words used are easy to understand for everyone, however the plots make you think a little which is definitely a good thing. The author unknowingly makes you believe things he wants you to believe, hence proving that he is indeed a brilliant author with a great sense of style.

When we are shown how Yukawa picks out the slightest hints from Ishigami's deceiving behaviour, one literally prays that Yukawa shouldn't be able to discover the true plan. By the time you reach the end, you form a bond and a sort of connection with the characters and are literally hoping for the best for them.

A plus point of the book being: its gripping tale and the author's way of writing keeps you hooked and I couldn't put the book down. I'm sure that this book will have you wanting more of Keigo Higashino's books and you would want to read all the other books in the series.

This book has become a nation wide obsession and phenomenon in Japan and I'm sure, in no time, all of India will be crazy about it. 2 Million people have it on their lips and finger tips and as shown in the above image, they can't be wrong. I am one of them. This book is surely a must read for every crime fiction fan and also for those like me who aren't the crime fiction reader type, because there's something about this book that's for everybody.

Review: Definitely catch it, you have got to read it. If you are a crime fiction lover and even if you aren't, its going to have you gripped.

People make judgments about us, they analyze every move, they come to conclusions about you based on your figure, colour, size, clothes and what not. Why? Can't someone be just someone without being labelled or judged?

While this problem is faced all over the world, I will definitely share my experiences from Bangalore. Being a healthy plus size person, the looks I sometimes get are unavoidable and disgusting. When you walk into a shop looking for clothes, the shop keeper gives you such a look as if you've asked him to grab the moon for you. Don't we have a right to being well dressed and wearing great clothes.

Walking into a lingerie shop and looking for bras, I can notice that the helpers there are giggling at you. When you ask for a size they laugh at you like you are an elephant. Why? Doesn't a person have the right to be the way they are without facing constant humiliation from the society. While us 'heavier' people aren't the only ones tortured people on the lighter side face this too.

Being extra skinny can be really difficult. People ridicule you, torment you and say that you haven't grown. You often have to buy clothes from the kids section and everyone stares at you and you definitely know whats going on in their heads. 'Why is she buying clothes from where I buy them for my kid? Is she nuts?' No you aren't nuts, you are small and there's nothing wrong about it.

Imagine the condition of that girl with the 'blonde' hair. With so many jokes surrounding her, she if often ridiculed by being called 'dumb' or 'mindless', but who said so? Some random person started the rumour and it became a world wide phenomenon? For all we know, this girl might just be a genius. How can one judge a person by their hair colour? Isn't that unfair in the least?

Being heavy, being lighter is all difficult but who judges what's heavy and what's not. I have often noticed that these people don't have friends, people hesitate to talk to them. Who said being fat is being bad? Everyone has these misconceptions that being friends with them is wrong and that they need to be isolated. Do you know what's behind their size? Do you know if they have a thyroid problem, or if they're trying their best but still unable to lose weight?

While every second someone is frowning at you or calling you names, bothering about it is definitely going to do you harm, no one else.

At this point, I'd like to bring to light a small confession. Before I started style blogging I was often thrown the question by my own head: 'Do you really want to post your pictures, people might be judging your figure, after all you don't have a size zero?', but then I overcame it and realized that if I kept giving a damn about what everyone thought, I'd just have to sit at home and sleep. We all do face doubts in our head sometimes but overcoming them is the answer. While I am extremely confident of my figure now, I can definitely give the most perfectly figured girl a run for her money when it comes to style and fashion.

Labels are plenty, people to give them are even more plenty. There's something I've noticed in Bangalore which might just be applicable to all around the world. Everyone is waiting to 'label' you. From 'snobby' to 'pretty', be it good or bad, you can't escape the world of being labelled in today's society.

What amuses me is that, can't someone just be themselves without having a tag added behind their name. Why can't they just be Peter or Lathika? Why do they have to be smart Peter or Skinny Lathika? Is the world turning too cynical wherein criticism is becoming a headache rather than a factor that helps one improve themselves. The funniest, most ironical part is that someone who hardly knows you or hasn't even interacted with you will start judging you.

Clearly, the saying: 'Don't judge a book by its cover' hasn't gone into anyone's head. I once remember visiting a store at this really hi-fi mall, it was a designer store and I was just looking and admiring the designs, I din't even ask the person in charge for a size and I heard her whispering to her fellow colleague: 'Look at her all dressed up, she's so fat, she doesn't realize she can't dress up?'. While I almost felt like walking upto her and giving her a piece of my mind, I decided against it because some people truly can't be changed. Instead I took their feedback form and scribbled: 'You definitely need a new set of employees at your store, because if you retain the same ones you aren't going to be making any profit' and luckily enough the girl was not at the store the next time I went around.

I have had zillion experiences in this forte and I can even write an entire book on it, but I do realize that I'm not the only one out there being faced by these problems. There are millions of people facing the same issues everyday. The next time anyone judges or labels you, you have to turn back and tell them to shut up or do what I did.

The BIG question is: Are there any humans left out there, who aren't being cynical critics, or aren't judging you by your hair colour or dress size?

Music Monday - 1

Music Monday is something I've always wanted to do considering my love for music and ever lasting relationship with it. So from this day on, every Monday I will definitely be posting a Music Monday post in which I will tell you what songs are currently on loop mode in my playlist and songs I'm obsessing over.

This week I present two mind blowing songs that have just taken me by surprise and that I'm obsessing over.

1. Pani Da Rang- Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann has always been a favourite but I never knew he could sing. Clearly he is an all-rounder. Vj to singing, he has come a long way. I'm so glad Vicky Donor is doing really well. This man has truly worked had and will make it big. This song Pani Da is an original composition by him.

What I love is the effortlessly beautiful voice and the way he sings it so casually as if it is nothing. The lyrics are brilliant and everything about it can keep you waiting for another song by him. You will definitely love his charm and cuteness but also admire his talent.

P.S: love his face in 0.28 and 1.03. Eeeee.

2. Boyfriend- Justin Bieber

I was never a Justin fan. ~~(okay maybe in the beginning but then I started disliking him).~~

However this new song by Bieber is leaving me crazy. Have you seen him? Heard his voice? Its like sexy multiplied by 100. His charm has just gotten bigger and his voice has transformed. If you are a Bieber hater or someone who just doesn't like him that much you will fall in love after this song.

Definitely digging the rap portion and his smiley, grinny, adorable face. I love his shoes, the way he talks, the way he dances.

Let me make this clear, I love this song and all but I'm not turning into a Belieber and all that. Listen to it and appreciate how much he's transformed.

Coachella 2012: Trend Report.

Coachella 2012: Trend Report

This post has truly been rotting in my drafts for a week and today I woke up to a zillion posts of Coachella pictures on blogs and I realized that I like a dud had forgotten to post the trend report I compiled instantly after Coachella.

Wondering what Coachella is?

The Coachella Music Festival is an annual three day music and arts festival organized by Goldenvoice. It takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley. So basically there are like various types of music and art stuff going on. Rock, Indie, Hip Hop are some of the music genres and sculptural art is often a favourite. All the know whos of Hollywood are undoubtedly present.

What better place to dissect fashion trends eh?

Every year I wait to see Coachella pictures and this year was nothing different. However I decided to do a trend report. Here goes:

Emma Roberts most definitely looks lovely in that lace top. The pants are funky but not really my type. However I like how she's paired black and white with colours: the bag and the necklace.

Fergie always does the craziest things. Doesn't she look like a cowgirl or something? I think that was definitely on her mind. However I like the tasseled overcoat thingie.

Dita Von Tesse looks like a stunner in this outfit. Loving the floral prints and that belt is like an icing to the cake. Very nice I must say.

Katy Perry wore this on one of the days, not her best look but I do love the monk like slippers, very chic. The shorts are pretty nice too.

Kristen Stuart. Oh dear Fashion God, what was she thinking? The baseball cap and the the mismatched look. Many liked it but I definitely didnt. Maybe a different top or some cooler shoes would have saved her.

Melanie Griffith does it right with the high waisted floral pants. Very chic and the across the shoulder sling is so pretty. Loving it!

Robert Pattinson woke up from bed and landed at the festival. Looks like it right? I have nothing to say. I do like the cap however.

One of my favourite looks. Loving the bandeau like top and the denim shorts. Everything about this is effortlessly fashionable. Loving the whole look. Vanessa has got her lessons right.

When i saw this, I couldn't help but aawww. Look at Nina Dobrev, she's a stunner babe. The red does great justice to her colour and the belt is perfect. Talk about her accessory: Ian Somerhalder. Jeez, he's smoking hot. look at that. The vest, the fedora, the denims. Ahhhh, all I can say is: Droooool.

Another favourite is Katy Perry's floral dress and ripped tattered stockings. Very nice, especially the purple hair with it just adds the perfect finish.

I don't like anything about this look but the sling.

Lea Michele got her cards right. White for summer and wedges. Very casual yet stylish. I doubted the length of that top at first but its actually doing good things for her. An I love those nude wedges.

Lindsay Lohan wears amazing shoes with a decent dress. Not the best look but not bad either. Loving the satchel like bag.

Mischa Barton forget its Coachella, she went all the way to Halloween party before its Halloween. Seriously, what was she thinking? Who wears all black to Coachella?

Oh Dear Lord, Paris Hilton wearing something like this? Wow. I loveeeee that skirt, it is so beautiful. And the bag, ah, perfect. Good stuff girl.

Rihanna wore studded shorts and a peace sports bra, definitely like the shorts and the thought that went behind the peace bra. :) Trust Rihanna to carry off something like this.

And in the picture below she's sporting a Chanel Logo'd silk jacket that's super fab. I love that, just completes the look.

My favourite's were the floral dress Katy Perry wore, Rihanna's look was nice too, Ian Somerhalder was fab I must say and Nina Dobrev wasn't too bad.

Trend Report:

Summer 2012 is going to be all about florals definitely.

Ice Cream shades are in but many people aren't that confident about it yet. Colour is super in, something out of the box will be well appreciated.

White will be the thumbs up colour, you have to wear it.

Avoid blacks as much as possible but don't say no to lace.

Go funky with colours and try out DIY projects.

A Fair Craze?

The other day I was on my way to college and I spotted a hoarding which was an ad for a fairness cream, I'll spare you by not mentioning the name of the fairness cream, but all I will say that its tag line indeed makes a dark complexioned human feel like they're dirt.

Fairness advertisements are wholly responsible for insecure people. Did you know that the fairness cream business is worth about 900 cr? Oh, that definitely shows what people are going through.

We are often greeted by advertisements of fairness creams whilst watching a movie or probably your favourite television show. Do we actually realize what this does? Maybe nothing to you or even me, but there's someone out there who's feeling inferior about themselves. While we talk about racism and how it is wrong, why can't we understand that fairness creams are a medium for racism but in a subtle manner. They show a dusky girl and how she gains no interest from a man, whereas a fair girl instantly appeals to the men? Does this mean dark is ugly?

The society already has a million standards and fairness creams are raising the bar even higher. Imagine a dusky complexioned girl going on a date with someone who's a prospective fiance and he says, 'You're nice, but I wish you were fairer?' Wouldn't her world come crashing down? While the fiance isn't the only one to blame, these fairness creams have a major, undeniable hand in what happened.

People aren't comfortable in their own skin. They go in for cosmetic surgeries, skin lightening treatments and most of all use fairness creams? Why? Because fairness creams exist. Why should someone be fair to be called pretty or beautiful? This definitely causes a stir in the mind of not only adults but also teenagers. Along with setting a definite bar for a girl or a boy, it also creates socially approved images. It sets an image that one is supposed to be and if they're not like that, then it is considered a negative aspect.

Can you believe that there have been suicides because of racism? Yes, indeed it is very believable, after all people succumb to the pressure of being unable to match up to the required fairness that's set by the society. Still, in today's modern, technologically advanced society, people are racist and if I might say, more racist than ever.

Blackie, Darkie, Kalli, Ugly Duckling, are some of the most common names that darker, duskier complexioned people are referred to. The most ironic part is that it isn't the foreigners alone who subject us Indians to this sort of racistic comments, it is us Indians ourselves. Fairer, wheatish complexioned indians discriminate against the darker ones and hence call them names, and treat treat them badly.

The big question here is that : Can a person be subject to social disapproval according to the colour of their skin?

Fairness creams not only target the upper class, the worst part is that the rural population, the people who are submerged in poverty fall for these ads and actually spend all their money on these creams, repeatedly using them, expecting to turn colours lighter. The sad point is that in cities like Bangalore, especially which is so modern and developed, people still go for the fairness cream and actually believe in it. The other day I came across a lady who said that she was a staunch believer of fairness creams because it created miracles for her. The aim is not to determine the quality of the fairness cream, it is infact to determine the impact of these ads on the society and in the mind of people.

The latest boom in the country and the city is the fairness cream for the 'vagina'. As if there weren't enough fairness creams to make one feel like they are inferior, out comes a cream that says it is essential to have a fair, fresh and white vagina. Isn't this the limit? First facial fairness, then it came to armpits, then elbows, knees, hands and what not. Now the vagina? I'm sure next there will be a fairness cream that lightens inner organs, after all it seems there is no limit.

Someone once said, ''Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder' but I believe that times have changed, supposedly beauty now lies in the eyes of fairness creams. What they say, is beauty. What I fail to understand is the craze for fairness, why this craze?

The craze for fairness creams and racial discrimination based on colour is not something new to our city, country or even the human race. It has been a existent and slowly crept into the society millions of years back. But I think its time to put it to an end, once for all.

Isn't one satisfied with the million social approvals that we already have to gain? Why another? And when will this obsession with fairness and addiction to fairness creams ever stop?

If it doesn't stop soon, I'm sure fairness creams will come up with something even more crazy. So its time to say no to fairness creams. Be confident of who you are, the way you are.

Everyday we meet so many people intentionally or unintentionally, we go to so many places, we gain plenty experiences. What's surprising is that everything has double standards. Walk into a shopping street/market dressed in bright hues and jazzy colours because you like them and people can't take their eyes off you. Walk into a mall, air-conditioned, with branded stores and uber urban society and you still get stares if you are donning a statement necklace or high heeled shoes.

You may say that everyone has a freedom to look, but how much is too much? Yes, some of us like to dress up and come summer we like to wear bright vibrant colours, maybe on and off we'd like wedges and maybe even glossy lips, but why should it matter to the passerby, or the so called on looker? I have often experiences un-comforting stares not only the boys but also the girls. I even remember once, this girl called for her entire family who was walking in front of her and told them to look at me. I almost felt like waving to them, pretending to be a celebrity. After all, all of them turning their heads and staring at me as I strut across shop to shop ignoring and positively accepting these glances.

Dress appropriate to the occasion/location is something everyone often says. But who defines what's appropriate. Isn't it subjective? A matter of personal opinion? Maybe to me, party wear would mean a dress, high-heeled shoes and make up, but maybe to another it means saree and a shawl. Everyone defines appropriateness in their own senses, then how is it fair to say that someone is not dressed appropriate or give some such looks that they feel like they've committed a crime.

Do we truly have freedom in this democratic country of ours? Where I reside, Bangalore is one of the more developed cities and if this is the condition here then I couldn't imagine what it would be in some rural areas where anyone dressed differently is an alien. I've heard from some of my friends that in many cities, they aren't even allowed to wear jeans. Yes, its culture, and I respect it, but I believe that culture is more choice than compulsion or have things changed? If someone feels comfortable in jeans why should they be banned from wearing it? Why should they undergo mental torture and non-acceptance from the society for something that's just a matter of like and dislike?

Experiences aren't few, in fact they are plenty. I could talk an entire day about all these varied experiences I've had, and maybe I will. I'm pretty sure that many other people face similar issues. Fellow fashion bloggers and people who like to dress up, are you willing to let go of your style to prevent these continued looks from strangers anywhere and everywhere? Yes it has sort of made me think twice every time I plan to wear something different and unique, but at the end I am not going to change myself for the society we live in and I hope you aren't too. People's eyes and what they see you as isn't the end of the world, you matter.

I strongly and firmly believe that everyone deserves a right to dress up the way they want to and lets not take this to the supposedly skimpy dressing which all rapists blame, because that would call for an entire article in itself. Maybe someone should do something about this, but maybe nothing can be done. After all the on looker will protest that they have the right to look and the dresser will say she has the right to dress. So at the end what does it all come down to?

Maybe ignoring them? Or maybe enlightening these people that its rude to stare like that. But I think neither one is a permanent solution to anything? After all how much can one ignore? And who all can we gather and enlighten? Some things are just never ending, and I guess this is one such problem for us fashion bloggers/style lovers.

But as I always believe, do what you want to, and if you really want it, nothing can stop you. Maybe play dress up at home, or boldly walk out and give an I-don't-care-look to them, it might just work.

Time is funny. One day you want something and the next day the very thought of it can repel you. Funny how things can change in just a minute second. Its rather uncanny how we all plan so much about the future when we don't even know whats going to happen the very next day. Planning for a career, education, family, life, goals etc. Yes you need a direction to move on with life, but not so much because in the end you get what's planned anyway. Life can screw with your plans. Maybe for the better or the worse. But whatever it maybe, it takes a lot of courage to stand up and face it. And that's what matters in the end. At least you tried?

Sometimes saying things makes it deeper. When you just think it, you might not believe it. You actually have to write it to live it and accept it.

Think about it.

I really do not have a clue as to how to start this post. Usually I am all blabber and jabber, but some days pass by that even the most talkative ones of us can't murmur a word. I guess its Almighty's way of saying that he's tired of listening to us for a bit or something? Anyway, I am really touched that you people have been tuning in so much to the blog. Thanks for the heart touching messages, mails and dms you'll sent me about the video. I did disable comments after a while because I felt it was necessary, but guess what, you can comment this post. Hurrah or what?

So you lovely readers have been doing nothing short of awesome to make me feel loved. All those lovely emails, sweet words, detailed comments and the blog crossed like a major 45k pageview. Woah? I am stunned. When I started off blogging, I really did without much hoped. I just did it for myself, but now there are certain months I feel so lazy and don't want to get here, but then I think of people who are being inspired by me, who listen to me, wait for my posts and then I'm back on track. So you people keep me going. Major love to you people. I swear.

Received a lot of queries and thought I would deal with some of them here. This outfit was actually something I wore in the winter, so its like seriously backlogged but nonetheless it seemed appropriate to the query that a reader had. I didn't post this one before because I didn't really do a photoshoot, so did not have enough pictures of the details.

The problem is that before the occasion I have to go out shopping with my friend, both are back to back so I am confused as to what to wear because I don't have time to change in between. Moving on to the outfit of the day and then shall explain how it would be appropriate?

What I'm Wearing:

Beret, Cardigan, Pastel Floral Tee, Jeans, Purple Ballet Flats (seen here previously), Bling-y Purple Bag, Unseen Rings.

I think this would be perfect for the shopping going to party later on look. Its not too casual, however its pretty classy and easy and comfortable. You can wear jeans as its the best bet for shopping but if you want something grand you could go for lace pants or something like that. The shirt has floral details and goes with the pastel theme of the season too and the cardigan gives it a very evening look. If you dont want much layering, go for a maxi or a pretty top that's sequined. You could find them at Zara and Forever New. Flats are not only stylish but easy to walk in while shopping. The huge bag is a safe option as you can carry your world with you and yet look party hop-able.

About the tresses part I replied by mail, shall do a detailed post on my hair care routine some day. :)

We all are different. All five fingers aren't same. Hell, even twins aren't same. Each one has their hi5 points and their low10 points. Varied body structures, faces, hairlines, eyes, lips, characteristics, etc. Then how can people expect perfection? It was bound to happen that God created us with certain flaws after all why would he send us to Earth is we were perfect? But looking on the brighter side the world is talented, everyone is special and great at something. Every individual has a unique talent and all of you are super awesome. Yes.

Today I decided to upload this video about certain confessions of mine through the video tag called 'Perfect Imperfections'. I was rather hesitant to upload this, I'd made it all ready and it lay in my videos for quite some time before I finally decided that discussing it with you guys will not only help me accept it but also improve and evolve myself. After all, we all do want to sculpt ourselves into better human beings. And I also kind of realized the things I am good at, my good attributes as you call it. I think its really essential that all of you take this up just to accept yourself and that you aren't scared to tell us about your flaws and that you are proud of your abilities. Dear .....,

Blogging has been a medium for expression, a platform where I have completely been myself, and portrayed my so called talents. Why am I saying this? Oh well, its my 350th post and I unlike others am not celebrating this milestone grandly for whatever reason, instead, its going to be just another post in the life of this blog.

It seems like it was just yesterday that I started blogging, I read back and see that the posts were so immature and amateur. I've grown so much from what I was and probably might not have if it wasn't for blogging. It has helped me understand my potential, my abilities, and accept my flaws with dignity.

A lot of blogs on the blogosphere have lately been talking about their blogging journey. This particular paragraph has been sleeping in my drafts forever.

Writing has never been a problem for me. I've always found myself very expressive and if I had to just 'say' everything I had in mind, I'd sure need a zillion people to listen to me and that would be unfair and tiring. But somehow writing has been majorly helpful to voice my thoughts and opinions. I've been able to improve my writing skills and have also realized my love for writing. Which of course has made me pursue the course I did last year and probably will continue to.

Fashion Blogging or Style blogging was something I was always hesitant to start. In fact I've wanted to started it in like forever, but there was always the lingering thought of my body. I've always been the plump, chubby child and been comfortable with it. However seeing all these thin, model like figures on the fashion blogging scene I thought about it once or twice. But then what hit me was, there are people out there like me. Who are not size zero, they are plump and imagine them just seeing all these thin people out there on the net, they'd feel bad. I need to do this for myself and for others is what I thought. And there went the first fashion post last year. Now it has indeed become a part of me, a part I'll never leave behind and I'm so glad that everyone has liked and appreciated it.

Blogging probably tells you who you are. Something we often don't realize.

It shows you sides of you, you've never seen.

It is overwhelming.

Blogging is cool.

Bloggers are cooler.

So today, I'd like to thank each and everyone who has read this blog, all those followers, readers, commenters. Because whenever I'm down, I always know I can turn to my blog and instantly be happy and feel loved by the amount of praise you'll give me. But its not all about praise. The best part is that, you'll constructively criticize and make me realize what's good and what's not. Thanks my friends, for being there.

I'll always be grateful.

Now that all the emotional, senti part is done, I move on to the segment of the day. The shirt has been re-structured by self design and its the first type that I'm displaying on the blog. The cut out shoulders and below knee length skirt is perfect for those who don't have a size zero body. The skirt is for the Indian curvy woman, and the shirt makes it add a glam touch. However I decided to go geek and add the satchel along with the wayfarers. The hair was rather simple and I did a casual summer braid that I call the twisted knot.

The shoes are a personal favourite, something that has a story behind it and its something I'll always love. This was the shoe I was talking about in the new year post here.

You gaiz are awesome. Now see the pictures. :)

How to wear it?

-The knee length or below knee length skirt is something that's extremely fashionable this season. It works best with the Indian curvy figure. Pair it with a tee like I've done and add a chunky necklace and you're good to go.

-If you want to add a special element, you could wear a tank or a cut-out shoulder top like I've done.

-They work best with braids but you could also style it with a bun or ponytail. Best for summers!

-If you are on the 'plumpier' side like me, you could opt for wedges to add volume. If you are someone who's thinner you could go for flip flops or moccasins.

-Add your personalized touches and keep it stylish.

Neon-Blast.

Namashkar lovely people. Hello, in other words.

Holidays have begun bitches. (I love you okay?) Oh yeah, I am officially a free bird. Have been on a major shopping spree/ mall hopping/ doing random things spree.

Yes, I went on a technology leave if you may call it for a day or two and have been keeping myself away from all the gadgets and gizmos for a week or so. But now I am back, truly missed all your lovely blogs and etc etc. Yours truly is completely free from the clutches of exams and is now bored because she doesn't know what to do in these holidays? You may ask what happened to the zillion plans I made? Too lazy to go get stuff to do those DIYs. Have to go around searching for a few materials. Leaving all those rants behind, moving on to today's post.

NEON BLAST

Neon is something I have always been a fan of. Maybe I don't always sport neon, but I try to incorporate some bright neon-y colours in my outfits to add the pops of colour that they truly deserve. So when Indian Fashion Bloggers was having an In-FB remix- NEON coming up, I decided to do some neon love outfit. Today's outfit of the day is dedicated to my love for neon. Now for the outfit pictures:

Many people aren't comfortable with Neon. They feel its too bright to carry off, or too attention grabbing. But Neon is perfect for summers and one can easily wear this season's hottest trend without any fear or worries.

How to Wear Neon?

1. Try using neon in light amounts at first. Go for a neon ring, or a earring at first and keep the rest of the outfit subtle.

2. If you are confident about carrying off neon, don't be afraid to experiment with dresses, jumpsuits, pants.

3. Sometimes, the perfect way to add colour to a boring outfit is bringing in a touch of neon. You can go in for Neon shoes. Heels or Flats. Available at Zara, Mango.

4. Choose lighter neon shades like yellow and orange instead of going for the brighter fluorescent ones at first.

5. Go bold and pair different clashing neon shades together if you like to experiment. But don't overdo it, and keep the accessories subtle or vice-versa.

6. Be stylish and be comfortable, nothing works more.

This is a letter to you because you really need to understand and empathize with every woman you've raped, groped, eve teased, beat, punched and what not. You have been the worst person one could be and gotten away with it easily? And wait, I don't blame you entirely. I blame the society too. People see someone getting eve teased on the road they walk away. When we know someone's being abused we turn off. We are experts at shunning things off and selectively forgetting them aren't we? Have we ever stood up to people like you and shown you that you can't have everything your way? NO.

You raped that girl, repeatedly. She's almost dead, just a living body now. You raped her for 5 minutes of sexual satisfaction and pleasure and gave her a lifetime of sorrow and hate towards herself for though it was not her fault? You groped her in a moving train and got the happiness from touching her private parts but what did you give her? Pain and helplessness. You looked at her secretly when she bent down to pick up the bus ticket and peeped and saw whatever you could, what can she do? Request you to pick it up for her?

The man is a term I use for people like you. Who gets away with crimes. Who walks away after beating a woman and raping her and abusing her without any guilt. Who kills a woman every day in her head because he told her she was a cheat but actually secretly cheats on her with plenty of women outside.

In our society we teach women how to protect themselves from getting raped, rather than teaching the men, NOT to rape. We teach a woman to give in to the man's requests because he's the 'pati' the ultimate god. We teach a woman to put her man's requests before hers because she's not important and that's why Men like you exist.

Why do you think systems like the Sati system, Purdah system, Devdasi system etc existed that time around and probably still do in some parts of the world? Because the man is supposed to be everything for a woman. If she doesn't live life exactly like he wants her to or if he dies, she's supposed to end her life too?Even if he cheats on her right in front of her, she's supposed to forgive him. Supposed to accept all the beatings and forced sex. Supposed to care for him after all this? Oh well, soon you aren't going to have anybody 'the man'. Its time you learnt to tie your shoe lace.

Throwing your weight around and getting what you want without any hindrance or obstacle. You molest a 5 year old child and don't you even imagine the pain she would have gone through? But no, you did it by mistake and you killed her before she could even learn to read and write? But alas, she's probably in a better world now, filled with candies and good people. A world where people like you don't exist. You can't exist, because that world, is a pure world.

You are going to rot in hell for every girl you've abused. That includes all sorts of abuse. You are going to get punished someday in life, because karma gets back at you. You blamed all the happenings and violence against women, because we dress indecently and invite trouble ourselves? Oh well, I fail to understand what the poor children did that was so seducing to you huh? Yes, you'll continue to exist in this damned world and probably are forcing your wife to have intercourse with you right now, but I hope that someday justice will knock on the door and kick you. Because that is what you truly deserve.

The man is the epitome of cruelty. This is for the man, for every man who has done a bad deed to a woman. You all truly deserve this, because you asked for it yourselves.

He walks around head held high

Pushing her under his feet

Surpassing all the frightened looks

He gets inside her body

Tearing her apart and ripping her soul

Shredded to nothing but a few pieces

He played with her and threw her in the corner

She lay in a coil of pain

Caging her in darkness,

Snatching away her peace

Killing her through dusk and dawn

Piercing a hole through her veins

He walks around like a free bird

Fearless and amused

But then he sees the lady approach

She spins the needle of truth

The needle cuts through his every nerve

Damaging all those parts

For every women he raped and abused

He's going to get it hard

She commands that he surrender

And then she does the worst possible thing

Leaves him there to rot for life

Because death did no one good

There's nothing worse than abandonment

She would never kill you

She's not a monster,

No she's not a devil

All that she is,

is justice.

You will die a death

Of reckless pain

Because you hurt so many out there.

Till you beg for forgiveness

And plead to be killed

But Alas, you shall not be free

The game has just begun.

Oh, 'The Man' how do you feel now? Bad?

Rotten? Terrible?

Oh well. Didn't I tell you?

Karma's going to get back at you?

So beware. We're going to come right for you.

A woman.

The lady is justice herself who will grace us with her mighty presence on earth someday because after she arrives, it'll be nothing less than hell for him.

What we want is a world with justice, where men get punished for their wrong doings. And people like 'the man' are never born ever. Because they don't deserve oxygen, they don't deserve to live. Lets join hands and fight for justice for every woman who was afraid to talk about her abuse and lets empower the woman of today. She will soon hover over all this and shoot arrows at such goons. You want to be one of those women don't you? You are one.

I believe in you. You believe in you.

We can make the change.

As one.

-A Salute and a Tribute to the Women of yesterday, today and tomorrow-

A woman.

Who is she, you ask?

She tirelessly works outside in the sun

Weeping silent tears of sweat

Typing endlessly at work

Hiding those pulling nerves

Changing diapers, filling bottles

Camouflaging every bleeding wound

Standing up to those goons who attacked little brother

And managing funds of the family

Rocking the baby gently on her lap

Making all ends meet

Yet, a woman

Who is she, you ask?

He pinched her and beat her

Yet she remained strong

He would come home drunk and throw his weight around

She picks up the dirty clothes and washes away the stains

Yet, a woman

Who is she, you ask?

She was abused in the buses

And denied equal wages

Truth be told, she never had a voice

She was caged in a melancholic room

Where things were not as they seemed

No one to trust, everyone was eager

To eat a piece of her and devour one by one

She withstood all of this

Years came by and passed along

And yet, a woman

Who is she, you ask?

But now she will be

Strong and powerful

Fearless and faithful

Achieving and daring

She'll overcome those hurdles

And throw away inhibitions

Putting herself first, she will be a star

Karate and Self Defense

Pepper Spray and Kicks

She'll show you what she's really made of

And then

A woman, Who is she you ask?

You know the answer now

She is a woman.

A woman of substance.

A woman, the epitome of strength and power is harassed and troubled by the society and always has been. She has been treated like a second class citizen, like she doesn't belong. Men would behave as if they owned her, and others toyed around with her. And yet, will all these laws, she still goes through a daily fight and struggle to achieve freedom, a sense of independence is all she longs for. Why can't she walk around in the streets at night fearlessly? Why can't she travel in a bus without being pinched? Why can't she argue with an auto driver for charging her extra without being fingered? Why?

It pains me to read the crimes committed against woman every day in the paper. A woman raped goes to file a case and the police rapes her? What does that mean? A woman domestically abused can't shout for help? Women forced into prostitution because there are plenty men there waiting to goble her up? A woman picked up from the streets, not out of pity, but out of hunger for sex?

Isn't this unforgivable?

So many people out there get raped every minute, so many people get burnt, and that is not the least of our worries. Babies are being killed, only because they are girls and acid is being thrown on woman only because they refuse to get into a relationship with someone. Is this even fair? I think all said and done, a woman has not been empowered even today. She can't say she's free. Because she truly isn't.

If it was in my hands, I'd definitely want men to see what women go through. To literally breathe and live like a woman for one day and I'm sure they wouldn't be able to take it. The amount she struggles, all the problems she goes through and the pains she overcomes is something that no one but a woman can go through.

I really wish that soon there will be a day when we can walk about without a speck of care about that man who's having dirty thoughts about us. Without worrying who's planning to pinch our butt in the bus. When a woman does not have to be the only one trying to make both ends meet. When she doesn't have to take all the burden on her shoulder. Let the man be pregnant once too, and understand what it is to go through and why he should use a condom next time, because abortion is not easy. Let the world see what it is to be a woman. Because if they really knew, they wouldn't be the same. They'd respect her and treat her differently.

So the next time your girlfriend says her stomach hurts and she can't talk, dont get angry, but tell her to sleep and take rest. The next time your wife has a headache after a long day of work, give her a massage. The next time your mother complains of fever, cook food for her. The next time you see a woman in the bus, respect her, don't touch her in the wrong places. The next time your friend says she was harassed, believe her and help her with it. Because you never know what she's going through.

Be a woman for a day, that's all it takes.

And all we can do, is wish for such a day, because whether it truly will happen or not is a mystery.

A salute to every woman out there. Respect to you because you are a woman, and you know what it is.

Stand up for yourself and give a clap, you've been brave.
