Baltalimanı Japanese Garden

Apart from the declaration of the year 2003 as the Turkish year in Japan, Istanbul and Shimonoseki being a sister cities Japanese garden were established in Baltalimanı, Istanbul.

The plants and designs used in the Japanese garden are also used here. The garden has bridges, waterfalls and a pond with a Japanese garden design.

The Khedive Palace (Hidiv Kasrı) is a building on the Çubuklu ridge in Beykoz district of Istanbul. In 1907, it was built by the Italian architect Delfo Seminati by Abbas Hilmi Pasha, the last Khedive of Egypt. It was made in art nouveau style in accordance with the architectural fashions.

From Europen Side
After passing Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, road signs of The Khedive Palace can be followed from Kavacık bridge. Also, if you are near Maslak you can use the Istinye / Çubuklu steamship.

The zoo garden which was opened in 1993 and still serves publicly is both the botanical park and bird paradise. Businessman Faruk Yalçın was built the zoo park and present to the public. The park name is coming from Faruk Yalçın because he was is paid expenses of the park.

There are 286 animal species and over 3600 animals in the zoo. In the botanical park, there are 600 kinds of plants and more than 8000 plants.

If you are in or around Istanbul, you can spend your weekend enjoying visiting Faruk Yalçın Darıca Zoo in Kocaeli. If you are going to a zoo for the first time, you can get brief information about the animals you have never seen.

The name of this place was taken from a French writer named Julien Viaud, whose name given birth was Pierre Loti. Over time this hill took the name of Pierre Loti.

WHO IS PIERRE LOTI?
The smallest of a Protestant family Pierre Loti was born in Rochefort in 1850, France. At the age of 17, he entered the French Navy. After completing his maritime education, he became a captain in 1881 and in the following years he was promoted to colonialism. He later reflected his experiences and observations on his journeys into his books.

For the first time in 1876, he came to Istanbul as a French officer, officer. Loti was influenced by the Ottoman way of life and showed this in many works. He was lived in Eyüp district in Istanbul. Pierre Loti, who admired Istanbul, has always characterized him as a Turkish friend.

In the years when Pierre Loti came to Istanbul, there was a coffee in the neighborhood of Eyüp. This coffee had a place in itself. The name of this place with the Golden Horn view is known as Rabia Women's Cafe.

HOW TO GO TO PIERRE LOTI HILL?
You can take advantage of the cable car service to reach the hill. But I have to tell you that the tail is a bit long at the weekend. As an alternative, you can also walk 500 meters to reach the place.

Atatepe Atatürk Statue

The Atatepe statue, which was commissioned in 2011 by the Sıtkı Kahvecioğlu foundation and completed in a year, was opened in 2012 with a magnificent feast.

FEATURES
The statue was built on 7,5 acres of land at Atatepe on the skirts of Genya Mountain. The size of the statue bears the distinction of being the world's largest statue of Ataturk. Height is 22 meters and weight is 60 meters. 40 tons of steel, 10 tons of copper and 10 tons of different materials were used in the construction of this gigantic statue in Artvin.

Hagia Sophia is one of Istanbul's most popular place, is one of Turkey's most visited places too. The Hagia Sophia Museum is the largest Byzantine church in Istanbul. There are not many options for accommodation in Şavşat Karagöl Sahara National Park. You can stay in accommodation areas in Artvin or Şavşat province or organize a day trip to the region.

There is a camping place in this area. You can meet your water and toilet needs from the surrounding facilities.

How to Go?

Hierapolis added by UNESCO to list of world heritage. It is located in the Pamukkale district of Denizli. Hierapolis, which can be considered a very big ancient city, has archaeological remains from the Hellenistic period and is characterized by its white travertines formed by calcium-oxidized waters, making it a magnificent structure. Particularly in the travertines, this water is also a cure for many diseases.

What means Hierapolis?
Hierapolis is a Greek word meaning holy city.
Hierapolis was destroyed by the earthquake in 60 A.D. During the time of Roman Emperor Nero. During the reconstruction after the earthquake, the city lost its Hellenistic Style and became a typical Roman City. Right after the Roman period started, Hierapolis became an important center because of its commercial and religious position. In 80 A.D. St. Philip came to Hierapolis and was murdered by the Jewish inhabitants. The Turks conquered Hierapolis at the end of the 12th century A.D.

Abant is one of our most famous lakes, just like Lake Tuz. One of the biggest reasons for this is that two big metropolises like Istanbul and Ankara are close to Abant lake.

Features
Surface area: 1.28 kilometers.
The maximum depth is not more than 18 meters.
The total size of our national park here is about 1200 hectares.

Water sports are not allowed to break the natural balance of Abant Lake. It is not possible to enter the lake. But those who ask for permission can fish.

By Public Transport

When saying the Black Sea, the first place that comes to mind after the Ayder highland is Uzungol. This place, which is connected to the Caykara district of Trabzon, arouses admiration with its nature.

Accommodation
Uzungol has increased its development works considerably due to being famous and increasing the number of visitors. You can easily find a place to sleep and stay as long as you want.

Hotel and hostel prices are more expensive in summer more than winter. It can even be 4-5 times more.

Where is the Uzungol? How to Go?
Uzungol is connected to Çaykara district of Trabzon province. Approximately 99 km away from the city and 19 km away from Çaykara District Center. If you are coming from Trabzon with your car, firstly you have to reach "Of" district. From here you can reach the city by following Uzungol signposts.

If you come by bus or plane, you can reach by buses of Metro Tourism and Ulusoy that they have organized to Uzungol directly from the city center.

It is best to fly to Trabzon and there (a) either to rent a car and see all those places on your own with overnight stays at Trabzon, Uzungol, and Ayder or (b) simply have a travel agency in Trabzon organize a comfortable tour for you with a driver/guide in a van.

It is stated that the rules are taken due to the increasing number of visitors.

How to Go?
You can follow two different ways to go to Kaynaklar Village.

The first route; With 177 Kaynaklar-Adatepe Eshot voyages, you can reach Adatepe in about 40 minutes. Departure times are different on weekdays and weekends.

The second route; If you saying "I cannot wait in the bus stations"; there is a minibus in front of Buca Hasanaga Park of every half an hour. The price is 2.5 Turkish Liras. It would be useful for you if you will tell the driver "I want to get off in the Kaynaklar Village". Because the minibusses that go to other places are also the departure place.

The mountains between Kayseri, Adana, and Niğde are known as the Alps of Anatolia. Just a 10-minute walk will take you to Cimbar Canyon from Demirkazık Köyü. There's a unique climbing route in this canyon. You can also walk on foot without making the summit.

This mountain range, is in the provinces of Kayseri, Nigde, and Adana, has a wide variety of plant and animal life and because of this, a 54,524-hectare area was declared a national park in 1995.

In this range, there are three peaks of 3700m, many more over 3000m, with numerous lakes. In the spring, a large number of lakes are formed from the melting snow but the in dry summer season most of them evaporate. Only a few, fed by underground water sources, remain by the end of the summer.

Height: 3756 m.

Location: These mountains are the highest in the province of Nigde, and are an extension of the Taurus Mountains.

The Best Time for Climbing: The best time for climbing is between June and September.

Characteristics: The mountains consist mostly of limestone. There is practically no forested area outside the Emli and Barasama valleys. Alpine vegetation in the area is very developed.
