Notice of Disruption in Service | Line Painting at Gananoque Municipal Marina

There is currently a planned service disruption.

The disruption includes:
LINE PAINTING AT THE GANANOQUE MUNICIPAL MARINA (21 Bay Road)

Scheduled line painting will take place in the main marina parking lot on Thursday, May 7th starting at 7:00am. We ask all vehicles to please be removed prior to this start time. The overflow lot on Main Street will remain open for alternative parking with a valid seasonal parking pass or by using the QR Codes displayed for a paid parking option.

The Town of Gananoque’s Emergency Management Committee is reminding residents of the importance of being prepared and are sharing tips to help you and your family stay safe during an emergency situation. This year’s theme is, Prepared Together. We encourage people to be better prepared to protect themselves, their households, pets and community. Below are some helpful tips:

✅MAKE AN EMERGENCY PLAN – Having a household emergency plan helps families know what to do before, during, and after an emergency. Plans should include communication strategies, meeting locations, and considerations for children, older adults, pets, and other vulnerable family members.

✅ BUILD AN EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS KIT – Include water, non-perishable food, meds, flashlights & important documents. It is recommended that household prepare to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours.

✅ STAY INFORMED – Follow local news, weather alerts, and municipal updates. Stay informed about local risks.

✅ PREPARE TOGETHER – Talk to your neighbours and help build a prepared, protected community.

Bi-Annual Alert Ready Test – Postponed to Thursday, May 7, 2026

Please be advised that the Alert Ready Bi-Annual routine test scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, 2026, has been postponed, as the date and time of the test would coincide with the funeral proceedings for OPP Sergeant Brandon Malcolm. Out of respect to Sergeant Malcolm, his family and friends, the Ministry has postponed the Alert Ready testing to Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 12:55 p.m. EDT.

GBM Canada 150 Outdoor Rink

The GBM Canada 150 Outdoor Rink will be closed for Maintenance due to extreme damage to the rink boards, Staff will be working diligently to get the rink open once we receive replacement parts. Schedules will be posted on the town website and social media. We will continue to update on town website and social media as time and weather allows.

Please note and bear with us as we make these much need repairs to ensure safe play for everyone.

Multi Use Courts are Now Open

Notice | Spring Hydrant Flushing

To: Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 8 am

The disruption includes:
The Town will be completing the spring fire hydrant flushing:

• Sunday, May 3 at 8pm through Thursday, May 7 at 8am; then again
• Sunday, May 10 at 8pm through Thursday, May 14 at 8am.

This work will be completed primarily during evening and overnight hours.

Residents may experience water discoloration when hydrants are being flushed near their residences. If discolouration occurs, please run the cold water tap, ideally at the lowest elevation of the home, until the discolouration has cleared.

The disruption includes:
The Town will be completing the spring fire flow testing. This includes hydrant flushing in the West Ward between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm from April 20th to April 24th.

You may experience water discolouration when hydrants are being flushed near your home. If discolouration occurs, please run the cold-water tap, ideally at the lowest elevation of the home, until the discolouration has disappeared.
