  <title>Congratulations to Paul Harding</title>

&lt;p&gt;Congratulations to Paul Harding on being selected as a 2026 inductee in the Teacher category of the Brockville and Area Music and Performing Arts Hall of Fame.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Each year, the Brockville Arts Centre recognizes outstanding individuals and welcomes new members into the Hall of Fame.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Paul is a highly respected musician, accompanist, and music director who has been an integral part of the Eastern Ontario performing arts community for decades, particularly in the Gananoque and Brockville regions.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Formally trained both locally and at Queen’s University, Paul holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Education, bringing a rare blend of musical excellence and educational leadership to his work.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;For more than 30 years, he served as Organist and Choirmaster at Grace United Church, taught music in local schools, and has continued to inspire others through private music instruction. Deeply committed to community music-making, Paul was also one of the founders of the Gananoque Choral Society.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;He has contributed to musical theatre for more than four decades as a music director, pit musician, and accompanist. In addition to his theatre and choral work, he remains an active live performer, appearing regularly in ensembles including the Paul Harding Trio.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In recognition of his longstanding community service, Paul was also honoured with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A well-deserved honour recognizing a lifetime of dedication to music, education, and community.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Holiday Hours | Easter 2026</title>

&lt;p&gt;Town Hall will be closed on Friday, April 3 for Good Friday and on Monday, April 6 for Easter Monday.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Due to the holiday, Friday’s garbage and recycling collection will take place on Thursday. Tuesday's collection is not affected.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title>Town of Gananoque News for Council March 04, 2026</title>

	&lt;li&gt;A Public Meeting was held for a Proposed Class III Development Permit Amendment (DP2026-01) – 580 King Street East – Amend DP2025-17 – Add a 40m2 addition at the front of the building for the purposes of a pharmacy. Council approved the application with conditions.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Council passed a By-law to adopt the 2026 Water and Wastewater Rates, Operating and Capital Budgets.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;The “2024 &amp;amp; 2025 Grant Applications Submitted by the Town of Gananoque”&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Report was received for information by Council.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Council received an Integrity Commissioner Report dated February 17, 2026 regarding a complaint against Councillor Koiner. Council passed a motion to direct staff to attach the report to the March 4, 2026 Council Minutes and post to the Town’s website, and to adopt the recommendations made by the Integrity Commissioner, that Council requires Councillor Koiner to issue an apology to Staff involved.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Council received the Legal opinion titled, “Municipal Budget 2026” from John Mascarin, Aird &amp;amp; Berlis LLP, dated March 2, 2026. Council further waived its right to privilege in order to be able to attach it to the open session Minutes of March 4, 2026.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;A motion was passed to direct the drafting of a letter to Minister Flack, asking for relief in an extension of time limit in the budget&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;process, to be circulated to MPP’s, Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO) and all Ontario Municipalities, and to be delegated on at AMO, and asking for start of date of decisions on any option available to allow the Town to re-open the budget.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;The “2022 to 2025 Legal Costs by Category” report was received for information.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;A By-law was passed to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign an Ontario Transfer Payment Agreement (TPA) through the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program – Health and Safety Water Stream (HSWS) with His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario, as represented by the Solicitor General regarding a funding grant in the amount of $6,455,937.00 for the lagoon remediation and repair project.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Council passed a By-law to amend the General Fees &amp;amp; Rates By-law – Ice Rental Rates – Schedule ‘H’. The amendment will add a 2% increase to the ice surface fees and rates for the 2026-2027 ice season.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;An exemption to the Procurement Policy was authorized by Council to approve the extension of an existing agreement for the lead contractor for Phase II of the Daycare Centre Renovations as the project must be completed on or before December 31, 2026 in order to meet the Provincial deadline for project completion.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Council directed Staff to bring back a report for Council’s consideration regarding A-1 Taxi Gananoque and Thousand Islands’ request to amend the General Fees and Rates By-law.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Next Council Meeting&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;
Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM&lt;br&gt;
Council and Committee Meetings will take place in person and virtually.&lt;/p&gt;
