It's a new <a href="http://www.myspace.com/2emedanger"target="_blank">Danger remix of the French duo <a href="http://www.myspace.com/weareacidwashed"target="_blank">Acid Washed self-titled track.

Acid Washed are as the write in the email "proud to announce the release of their eponymous 12" with remixes from The Hacker, Mickey Moonlight, Danger, Daniel Haaksman, Digikid84, Lazy Flow, Jungle Fiction and Stuff." And so they should, great song remixed by a bunch of great people. For example Danger, who needs no introduction, and his version of "Acid Washed". Pure good! Buy the whole release <a href="http://shop.recordmakers.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=146"target="_blank">here.

Acid Washed - Acid Washed (Danger Remix)

Anoraak remix of Neon Indian

Got this new Anoraak remix of an older Neon Indian track named "Psychic Chasms". But it doesn't matter if the original track is about one-year old old when the remix is Anoraakingtastic!

The remix is featured on a new deluxe edition release of Neon Indian's "Psychic Chasms" now named "Mind Ctrl: Psychic Chasms Possessed". It contains nine remixes or versions of the featured tracks, for example remixes of Yacht and Dntel. Get it here.

Neon Indian - Psychic Chasms (Anoraak Remix)

Neon Indian - Psychic Chasms

Another thing that's Anoraakingtastic is the 360° video shot by Milosh Luczynski with 8 cameras to the first single "Above Your Head", a track that we posted a while back, from the delayed release of "Wherever the Sun Sets". Yep, Rosie and Me are hailing from Brazil influenced of the American folk music making their sound a little more unique.

Now you're maybe wondering why the electronic music blog of Tracasseur writes about folk pop suddenly. The story is kind of sweet (maybe a love story...) and it started out when singer Rosie emailed us wanted to be reviewed on Tracasseur and telling us of their influences of likes as Bon Iver, Stars and Band of Horses. Me, listening to that kind of music also, took a listen and liked what I heard. Unfortunately it would be kind of wrong to post only folk pop on Tracasseur even if we really can post whatever we want.

So even if the post wouldn't be made I had to answer her and tell that I really liked what I heard but we couldn't post it regarding our electronic direction. But I also asked her if they got a remix made of some of their tracks, because then we could kind of go around the problem and posting the remix along with the original track as we often do with a lot of remixes. Hurrah, there were one remix!

So she sent over a remix of "Come Back" made by a French DJ named Benwa. So now we could make a post. "Come Back" is one of the tracks from their self-released EP "Bird and Whale" (buy it here) and it's a pearl all the way, especially if you're into folk pop with sweet introspective lyrics, catchy melodies and soft female vocals. So now it's Rosie and Me...

Rosie and Me - Come Back (Benwa's Remix)

Rosie and Me - Come Back

"Har du varit STYGG?"

"Have you been bad?" is what the headline say in Swedish. And it's from Sweden the duo STYGG are. It's been quiet from STYGG for quite a while since the released their great track "Lunacy" in the early 2009. But now Johan Bring and David Strindberg are back with their new single "Sleep" released on Trewetha Records and available on iTunes and Spotify along with four remixes.

STYGG - Sleep

STYGG - Sleep (Kungen & Hertigen Remix)

STYGG - Sleep (The Integrals Remix)

And speaking of the older track "Lunacy" here's a fine video directed by themselves with their producing agency Punx Sthlm along with the track and a remix. So we had a great time playing at ODahl's release party last Friday. Great music played by all the DJs, lots of Aperol drunk and the premiere of ODahl's video for "Dance Mama". So for all of you unlucky people who weren't there (and for the majority of people who couldn't see the video since the place was so packed), here it is!

The EP is still exclusive at Beatport.

We love Velo

Stumbled upon these unsigned London guys of Velo a couple of months back. Were thrilled of their amazing sound. Fell in love. Now I noticed that they still are unsigned but they have finally released their first EP "Trading Alibis" on Eurostar Records.

When I saw the release I heard this remix of Mondkopf. Heavy stuff compared to Velo's kind of 80s guitar based electro pop it took a complete other turn, a good marriage.

Velo - Trading Alibis (Mondkopf Remix) by mondkopf

Back when I took my first listen of Velo, these three tracks got stuck in my head, especially "White Nights". These tracks are only in low quality so you first can discover Velo and then head over and buy the whole EP with remixes at iTunes, alright!

Velo - White Nights

Velo - Trading Alibis

Velo - Perfect Twisted World

Earlier this year, they also got a huge hit over at Hype Machine with their remix of Ellie Goulding's "Starry Eyed". A track that have a lot of great remixes, we're especially in love with Monsieur Adi's version but Velo's is also a superb remix. In other words, Velo are not only good in making their own music, they're also good with the remix work.

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Velo's Wild Eyed Edit)

Penguin Prison - Funny Thing (Velo Remix)

And as the final bonus of this love declaration to Velo, they have made this wonderful disco flavoured mixtape. A lot of nice tracks from back in the days mixed with some newer ones.

VELO MIXTAPE 001 by VELO VELO VELO

Monarchy & Penguin Prison + Jamiroquai = Greatness

When two of my favourite acts of 2010 Monarchy and Penguin Prison come up with remixes of classic Jamiroquai, it gets my attention.

Jamiroquai have been around for quite a while now, first release was back in 1992 and they have some classic hits like "Cosmic Girl" and "Virtual Insanity" along with a Grammy award in their backpack. Now their soon to release their seventh studio album "Rock Dust Light Star", last time they released a studio album was five years ago, so the expectations are high. "White Knuckle Ride" is one of the tracks to be featured on the album and it's also the lead-single for the release.

So when I got the news that both Monarchy and Penguin Prison had put their magic touch on the new single from Jamiroquai. It got me a little excited and then the remixes turned out to be fabulous. I don't know how they do, these two fantastic acts, but they always deliver lovely material, these remixes aren't any exceptions.

Jamiroquai - White Knuckle Ride (Monarchy Remix)

Jamiroquai - White Knuckle Ride (Penguin Prison Remix)

Jamiroquai - White Knuckle Ride

84.85 and 40 and a fistfight together with ¡BORRACHO!

A weird headline? He makes the type of high-energy, cut-up house music that makes you think of people like The Phantom's Revenge. He has a great sense of which songs to remix or sample (or should I say beat the crap out of?), which is a good quality since great samples is pivotal to this type of music.

With his latest track, he gets some remixing back-up by Justin Faust, who needs no introduction to our readers.
It's excellent, and you really should buy it. The new single is called "I Look to You", and this dreamy disco-pop song is one of my favourite tracks of the album. The single is accompanied with an equally dreamy video:

As nice as it is, a big reason for this post is actually to post one of my favourite tracks of this summer; G.L.O.V.E.S' remix of last year's Miami Horror single "Sometimes". I don't know how I managed to miss it when it was released around January, but either way it's the perfect summer track with it's mellow synths and super-funky bassline, which peaks in an early-90s-house-piano bliss towards the end. It's just pure magic!
I've been having my eyes and ears on this different and awesome band for quite a while now. They got a kind of unique and uplifting sound mixing acoustic instruments with electronica, that has come to be known as folktronic.

It all started out with John T. Mudd and Brad Dale and during the last one and half year singer Taylor Rea and drummer J.J. Mudd have joined Ishi. By so the band's live presence has become bigger and they're also known for their quirky dance duets on stage.

Today we got this fresh remix exclusively to the readers of Tracasseur. It's a gift from Ishi and Redsean. Redsean is a DJ and producer also from Dallas. He has remixed the happy and wonderful "Pastel Lights", the track that made me fall in love with Ishi. So, happy times...

Ishi - Pastel Lights (Redsean Remix) [Tracasseur exclusive]

Ishi - Pastel Lights

More fine tracks for listening at their MySpace and then you head over to iTunes and buy your copy of their fine album "Through the Trees".

The winner of PURPL Pop remix competition is...

A while ago we announced the remix competition of PURPL Pop's "The Way". Tracasseur were one of five blogs involved. Here's the video to "The Way".

And now the winner has been chosen from over 50 entries. After much deliberation the deciding vote has been cast by PURPL PoP themseleves. The winner is…Shooting Horses!

Records

To know Shooting Horses even better, here's a short interview made of the winner:

Firstly… congratulations! How does it feel to have won?
Thanks it feels great. I honestly wasn’t expecting it. It’s really nice to have had such a positive response to my remix from everyone I’ve played it to so yeah… I’m chuffed.

What do you think of "The Way"?
I think it’s a big feel good summer tune, and it’s certainly mighty catchy. I’m looking forward to hearing what else PURPL PoP have in store.

For those that don’t know you yet please tell us a little about Shooting Horses…
My name’s Rob Swaine, I’m from South West London, the area with the low crime rate, and I make house music. I took my name from the 1930’s American crime fiction novel, ‘They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?’, and you can rest assured that I don’t physically shoot horses. Or do I..? I don’t.

What is you current production set up?
Very basic: Just me, in my bedroom with my Macbook and a copy of Logic. The glue to the setup is my pair of Genelec 8030As, my pride and joy. I’d only be half the man I am today without them.

How long have you been making dance music? What inspired you to start?
I’ve been making electronic music in various forms for the last 6 years, since the end of sixth form. I was the drummer in several bands at the time and used to do drum and bass remixes of our studio recordings. They weren’t very good but I had fun doing it. It was only when I got to Nottingham and started DJing that I got into house music. It seemed the logical step to have a go at making some beats of my own and now after a year of concentrated production, I feel I’m finally getting somewhere with it.

What is next for Shooting Horses?
I’ve got a few gigs coming up in London and Nottingham so I’m looking forward to DJing again. And of course, loads more production. I’ve done a fair few remixes lately so I’m going to spend a bit of time on some originals and hone in on my own sound. I’d love to have an EP of my own out by the end of the year/early next year and maybe play some festivals next summer. So yeah… I’ve got ambitious plans but everyone needs a challenge eh.

And we at Tracasseur also want to share with you our favourite remix except for Shooting Horses. We got a couple of remixes via Tracasseur and the first one we got was this one by Mojoworkinz. We think it's a great remix and what we understand, it came at third place, so it was close to be the winner.

PURPL PoP - The Way (Mojoworkinz Remix)

The Naked and Famous

If you could choose between The Bold and the Beautiful or The Naked and Famous, I recommend you strongly to choose nude celebrities. That they also come from the country where it ran around orcs, goblins, knights and sorcerers for a while makes it even better. New Zealand, actually came at second place in a recent survey about which country you wanted to move to if you had to. I knew the orcs weren't wrong...

The Naked and Famous are a five-piece band and are said to play rock. In my opinion, it's better than so, they got all the instruments as a rock band but they sound like something else. While listening to their songs I want to say that they are a bit of M83, a pinch of Kate Bush and a handful of Au Revoir Simone, maybe they are New Zealand's answer to MGMT. I'm in love with them anyhow.

They're about to release their debut album "Passive Me, Aggressive You" in early September in New Zealand. This is their latest track "Punching In A Dream" with a mighty fine video.

The Naked and Famous - Punching In A Dream

And speaking of beautiful videos, this one to "Young Blood" is also a pearl.

The Naked and Famous - Young Blood

And I can't leave behind the first track I ever heard from this band back in late 2008, it got me hooked and I wanted more. Wave with the colourful flags. Clap your hands and move your feet because today it's Monsieur Adi's birthday.

To celebrate this young multi-talented producer and record-label boss, we'll post his latest remix of Paper Crows along with a congratulation. Paper Crows are the new UK duo that look back to times of trip hop and sounds a little like Portishead, and that's a great thing. But they still make it in their own way, the sound has a touch of dubstep and I really like them.

"Stand Alight" is Paper Crows' debut single and Monsieur Adi transforms it into a more energetic track but still as beautiful, much because of Emma Panas wonderful voice. Once again a superb remix of Monsieur Adi.

Paper Crows - Stand Alight (Monsieur Adi Remix)

Paper Crows - Stand Alight

Monsieur Adi, we hope you get a fantastic birthday! I'm talking about the saga of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/odahl"target="_blank">ODahl & <a href="http://www.myspace.com/kampmusik"target="_blank">kamp!, the Swedish-Polish brotherhood between talented young men. This is the third time ODahl remixes kamp!

kamp! the electro pop troup from Poland who makes beautiful music with inspiration from the 80s as well as the modern days. Things are really about to happen for them, they just announced live-gigs in Los Angeles for example and we can also reveal that the people of Stockholm most likely will stand face to face with these three guys soon...

ODahl is the Swedish myth that exists, making fine remixes every time, not only of kamp! He also just released his debut EP a couple of weeks ago and it's climbing the charts at Beatport, get your copy of the EP <a href="https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/268022/ODahl%20EP"target="_blank">here.

And here we give you ODahl's new remix of the great "Distance of the Modern Hearts" by kamp!

kamp! - Distance of the Modern Hearts (ODahl Remix)

Exclusive interview: Stay Ali

Today we give you an exclusive interview with one of the great young hopes in Swedish electro – Stay Ali. They released their debut EP, ”Vat:Auhlau”, on Monsieur Adi’s label Technofavrik just before the summer. We met up with Bård and Elias from the trio (unfortunately Johan couldn’t make it) over a couple of beers. The interview lasted for two hours and we recorded it on a cell phone, which made editing hard but necessary work.

Here’s the interview after we boiled it down to the essentials.

What music do you listen to?
ELIAS – Wow, I listen to pretty much anything. Really, from hits to more indie stuff.

But are you out there on the blogs searching for music yourselves?
ELIAS – No, I wouldn’t say that.
BÅRD – But when you’re in the industry, so to speak, you get a lot sent to you which make you find quite a few cool bands. I also think that all of us together have a really broad taste in music. Johan plays and listens to a lot of jazz for example, and I listen to a lot of classical music, and jazz too.

Well actually, you can tell that you get inspiration from a lot of different music and that there are elements from different genres in your music. Some blog wrote that you mixed italo disco with this whole house thing, and we think we hear some techno too...

BÅRD – We don’t always aim for a particular sound.
ELIAS – No, exactly. Pretty often you listen to an artist or a song, and then the production kind of move in that direction. Then it depends on a lot of other factors too of course.

BÅRD – We’ve been doing this for four years now, and you can really notice that we’ve changed genres completely. Well, not genre maybe, but the sound at least.
ELIAS – And sometimes we go back closer to what we did before and other times we distance ourselves even further.

What kind of music did you start out making four years ago?
Both Bård and Elias laughs.
ELIAS – It really started out as a joke. It was really weird...

Four years ago, you were still in junior high school then right?

BÅRD – Yeah, ninth grade. It started out with me being over at Elias’ place eating crisps with my laptop. I had just started making some electronic music. We found this project that a friend had started on, that we thought was so bad.

Everyone starts laughing.

BÅRD – It’s good laughing at how bad it was after choosing to make a song out of it. Anyway, it ended up being our first song, and was called ”Korvhuset” (the sausage house), and I still have it on my computer.

ELIAS – But to our second song we made a MySpace page where we uploaded it together with a music video. The desire to make a music video was greater than doing the actual music production. We made a weird song and a weird video...

Which song was that?
ELIAS – It’s called ”One Fish”. It’s on YouTube.

We’ve seen that, but there isn’t an mp3 out there, is it?
BÅRD – No, probably not. In those days we used to meet up all three in the evening, and then we made a song and a music video, all in the same evening. Mainly, it was the whole process that we enjoyed, and then we maybe ended up with a video that was fun to watch. We didn’t really have a clear idea with what we were doing, it was more just about having a laugh.

So you didn’t have the idea that ”tonight we make a song and a video, and then we take it to a label”?
BÅRD – Hehe, no that wasn’t the plan. But it always ended up on YouTube the same night though.

You’ve already told us about your broad music taste, but what sort of music did you grow up with, and what are your favourite bands?
BÅRD – The band I listen to the most is Esbjörn Svenssons Trio (a Swedish modern jazz band), Frank Zappa is really good, and then Gorillaz actually.

Those three are a pretty interesting combo...
BÅRD – Oh yeah, and Bob Hund too.
ELIAS – I’m not really “in the know”, I have a more ordinary taste. But my father listened to a lot of 60s music, and I grew up with The Beatles and The Beach Boys who I like a lot. Lately, I’ve listened to Of Montreal and Fleet Foxes, and Grizzly Bear are my absolute favourites. And I’ve started to listen a lot to Dungen too. Well, that’s the sort of music I listen to I suppose.
BÅRD – I think you can see some sort of pattern there.
ELIAS – Exactly, Grizzly Bear also feel inspiringly broad, almost like jazz sometimes.

Yeah, they’re very interesting. You can hear that they’re inspired by a lot of different things.
ELIAS – Yeah, totally. It feels like intelligent music somehow.

Speaking of intelligent music, it feels like your music is very intelligent, like you have a lot of thought and knowledge behind it. It shows that you, unlike a lot of other artists, are musically schooled. Like your track “97” for example. You have mixed together a lot of different kinds of music in that track. It has these clubby house or techno sounds, but the slow tempo and the harmonies makes you think of classical music.
BÅRD – When we did that song we had listened a lot to Aeroplane’s remix of Friendly Fires ”Paris”.

Stay Ali - 97

Friendly Fires - Paris (Aeroplane Remix ft. Au Revoir Simone)

Yeah right, it has the same slow but steady beat.
BÅRD – We’re a lot into that sort of thing. It’s not really a party track, but it’s not mellow either. I like that. That’s how the whole EP turned out I think.

We’ve noticed that the bpm counter says ”97” as in 97 bpm. Is that why it’s named that?
BÅRD – He he, yeah, that’s why. We thought it was an unusual tempo.

Yeah, it’s rare we listen to songs slower than 97 bpm…
BÅRD – There are a lot of 128 bpm tracks around, especially remixes. It’s been a while since we last made one, but we’re currently working on a remix of the song “Backbeat” by Stay Gold where Salem Al Fakir is singing. He’s got an amazing voice that is great to work with. That song is like 140 bpm though and three or four other artists are remixing it as well, so we figured they would slow it down to 128. Which is why we’re thinking of slowing it down to somewhere around 105.

The strengths with both Aeroplane’s ”Paris” and ”97” is the tempo. They’re quite slow, but still energetic. There’s the Computer Club edit of Aeroplane’s remix that kicks it up to a more ”workable” tempo (130 bpm), just as Datassette has done with “97” (115). We like it, what do you think of it?
BÅRD – He’s really underrated. I don’t understand why he hasn’t got more plays on his MySpace. He’s made a great remix of Röyksopp that's on their EP, for example.

Stay Ali - 97 (Datassette Remix)

How do you know him?
BÅRD – Well, we don’t really know him. I just thought he was good and he wasn’t super big. So I shot off a mail to him.

Two remixers on the EP and you took contact with both of them yourselves?
ELIAS – We met Owl Vision during a gig down at Deathelectro’s club (I love Electro) down in Gothenburg , and turned out he was a great guy…

He’s more trash electro...
BÅRD – He calls it deathelectro actually. Don’t know if he maybe created that genre… I can’t think of anyone else who is so “death”…

So where do you think electro will go from here if you get the chance to be spokespersons?
ELIAS – I think the tracks that will get big will have some sort of finesse to them. Take “Backbeat” for example, I can’t really put my finger on what it is, but it’s just like no other song I’ve heard. And “Paris” is another track that I’ve thought a lot about how it sounds.

Yeah, there’s something that sort of sticks with you, and make it stand out. Some of all this 80s influenced music sound very much alike. You sort of lose the artist somehow. You recognize the song, but can’t really place the artist. ”Paris” takes two seconds and you know exactly what track it is.
BÅRD – Yeah, it can be a unique sample, a synth hook or a riff that stands out. I think that’s what it takes to make a ”hit”.
ELIAS – A bit smart… Intelligent electro. And I have to add, when I heard Datasette’s Röyksopp remix, I got this feeling that ”this is the new electro”. Maybe it doesn’t work for everybody, but it’s unique somehow.

Elias, you mentioned earlier that he grew up with a lot of 60s music through your father. It’s a thing we’re interested in. What kind of music you’re brought up with, so to speak. So what have you grown up with Bård?
BÅRD – Me and Elias has known each other since we were born actually, so we have always listened to the same music really. I listened to The Beatles and The Beach Boys too; The Beatles already in kindergarten even.
ELIAS – Then we listened to more rock in primary school. I even bought a striped jacket, a white and blue striped one, which I wore with red Converses. So it was more Ramones there for a few years. They really are some sort of geniuses, in the way that they’ve been able to make evergreen hits with only three chords in a song.

Karma Tree is featured on one of the tracks on the EP, are they the ones who are singing?
BÅRD – Yeah, it is. It was actually a song of theirs that we were supposed to make a remix of. But it ended up being a completely different song that had nothing to do with the original anymore. So we asked the guys if we could have it and credit it as our own and feature them instead, which was fine by them.
ELIAS – They’re also a Stockholm band and about the same age as us. We don’t really know them that well, we’ve only met them a couple of times.

What are your roles in the band? Have you like different strengths, and is there a lot of arguing?
ELIAS – Sometimes actually, and more so now than before. In the beginning you could let things slide, knowing that you got that back later. When we were younger this thing didn’t matter as much as it does now, but now everyone put their foot down when they’re not satisfied.
BÅRD – We usually get together at Elias’ place, where we make the music together. Sometimes I may have started on a song, but we always meet and discuss the song and talk things through.

Ok, so who makes the actual production and the harmonies?
ELIAS – Bård does the rhythms and beats, and more of the production.
BÅRD – Johan is really good on harmonies and stuff. He makes a lot of the composing.

What about these gigs? How long ago was your last and when is the next?
ELIAS – We had two gigs last May, but sadly I couldn’t participate.
BÅRD – The last gig we played in a church. It was a new electro collective here in Stockholm with a lot of young bands, and we were invited to play. They had removed all the church benches and they had smoke machines and stuff. The reverend was a sound engineer, a man in his 40s with worn tattoos. It was a pretty different gig.

Have you got any favourite artist you’d want to remix or have remixing your stuff?
ELIAS – Maybe it’s cheesy, but it would be cool to be remixed by someone really big. So you just get your stuff out there.

Who’d that be? The Swedish House Mafia or David Guetta?

Everyone laughs.

But if David Guetta would call you personally and beg to remix one of your tracks, would you say no?
ELIAS – No we wouldn’t, we don’t gave a lot of pride in that way. We take whatever we can get.
BÅRD – Maybe it’s boring, but I think Boys Noize is really good.
ELIAS – Danger would be awesome. He’s big AND he’s good. He would be the coolest to be remixed by. And I would love to remix Sébastien Tellier if he asked for an official remix…

What are your plans for the next release?
BÅRD – We have actually thought of releasing an indie EP. It wouldn’t be unplugged, but it would be guitar and piano and Elias on the vocals. And with indie we mean like MGMT and Jamaica.

Do you feel you have an advantage because of your backgrounds in classical music, playing instruments and going to music schools?
BÅRD – I’ve actually thought about that. Mr. Oizo, who’s one of my favourite producers, and who I by the way would love to be remixed by... I suspect, but don’t know for sure, that he hasn’t got a musical education. In a good way I mean.
ELIAS – Either he got lots of education or none at all.
BÅRD – His music is pretty fucked up. It’s bizarre, but extraordinary at the same time.
ELIAS – The thing with a musical education is that you learn the rules of how to make music, but also how you can break those rules.

What’s your most embarrassing song that you like? You know, a song that you’re not really supposed to like?
ELIAS – I have to say Rhianna’s ”Rude Boy”.
BÅRD – I choose the whole OC soundtrack.
ELIAS – I actually downloaded Jason Mraz’ ”I’m Yours” recently, and that’s pretty embarrassing.
BÅRD – Oh, and I came up with another one, ”Fireflies” by Owl City.

So what’s the feeling with Stay Ali now, does it feels like you’re on a roll? That stuff is starting to happen?
ELIAS – I often use to think that things are about to happen, and then it doesn’t.
BÅRD – But there’s always little stuff happening ….
ELIAS – Right now there are a lot of small things happening. This blogging thing is new to us. It’s great that people write about us, and there have been a lot of that recently.
BÅRD – Plus the”Vat:Auhlau” EP is on iTunes.

You were really young when you started out. How does that show? A lot of stuff happens between ages like 15 to 20. How have your production changed during these years?
ELIAS – We have always wanted to make these pumping, energetic tracks. But now when we have started to go out, that feeling has diminished. But making more ”mature” music comes automatically I guess.

Funny you should say that, because you’ve always felt more mature than most artists your own age. It was hard to believe you’re teenagers when you listen to your tight and well produced music. So what’s in the future? Where do you want to be in, say a year?
ELIAS – We hope the future is bright…
BÅRD – I’ve always dreamt about producing some vinyls, and that’s actually what we’re going to do with ”Vat:Auhlau”.
ELIAS – We want to get out and play more. Get out in the world. We’ve played in Italy, Holland and Norway. And we hope that Monsieur Adi’s connections in France can land us a gig there.

Lastly, you said you didn’t want expected questions like “how did you come up with the name Stay Ali?”, but we have to ask anyway!
ELIAS – Haha, we were actually thinking about that on the way over here. We have a few different stories, or variations of a story, because the real one is pretty boring.

Let’s start with the real story.
ELIAS – Ok, there was this girl on my MSN that called herself Stay Alive. She had seen that crappy horror movie with the same name, which we hadn’t seen at the time. And when I minimized her on MSN it said “Stay Ali...”. I started to call myself that on MSN and had that name six months or so. And then we stood there without a name... Well, Johan had the suggestion that we would call ourselves My Female Bodybuilder.
BÅRD - ...Which was so bad…

Everyone burst into laughter.

ELIAS – We didn’t come up with anything else, and then Stay Ali sort of stuck. And then we saw the movie and it was horrible.
BÅRD – It was really really bad.

That was a good story, but what have been the ”official” story?
BÅRD – Ok, we actually told this story to Too Many Sebastians, but they didn’t know it wasn’t true, haha. The story was that I had a friend called Ali who was from Iran. His parents decided to move back and we started a campaign among our friends that he should stay. Everytime we saw him we shouted “stay Ali”. We even started a Facebook group and everything. They moved to Iran anyway, so we took the name to always remember him.

Well, this was a lot of fun! Thanks for a nice interview guys! Tracasseur wish you good luck in the future.
BOTH: Thanks a lot, and thanks for the interview!

Stay Ali - Time [Tracasseur exclusive]

One exclusive and one superfresh remix from Worship

Got two new remixes from one of my absolute favourite producers today. Worship from Switzerland makes everything he touches into gold. If it's a remix of AXXE, Bestrack or Lady GaGa he nails it and if it's his own tracks it's always amazing.

Also loving the fact that he moves between the genres in the electronic music so smoothly and elegant. Just check out these two new remixes and you'll understand what I mean. One slow dreamy remix and one more funky. It's only a matter of class I suppose. We'll keep adoring Worship!
We've written about great Deluce several times before because we always loves his work. And today he gives you guys two exclusives, that's amore!

First out is his own track "Ultime" that is a pleasant track perfect for every Sunday to get you in the happy-mode. I'm listening to it right now and I feel happier...

Deluce - Ultime [Tracasseur exclusive]

Second track up is a remix of our Swiss friends Flashworx, who been to Japan many times for gigs. Therefore they released an EP in May named "Two Guys in Japan" with the track "One More Night In Tokyo". Now it was time for Deluce to make his Shogun remix of it. And it's as they would say in Japan: 素晴らしい (subarashii).

Flashworx - One More Night In Tokyo (Deluce Shogun Remix) [Tracasseur exclusive]

I've also got the honour to pre-listen some of his tracks in the making and what I can say, is that this guy got some great music to come. Two of the tracks got the darker futuristic sound where one of them uses samples from the Tron soundtrack that we <a href="http://www.tracasseur.com/2010/07/preview-soundtrack-for-tron-legacy-by.html"target="_blank">posted a while back. Exciting indeed.

Deluce will also be featured on Irish Step's EP "Power" that are to be released early this autumn. In other words, more to come with Deluce, stay put! If you have problems waiting, head over to <a href="https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/198236/Distant%20Star"target="_blank">Beatport in the meanwhile and buy his remix of Triobelisk's "Distant Star".

16 year old Magna

Young guy from Pennsylvania, only sixteen years old and he already produces great music. Magna is his name and he has just released his third EP "Three" for free, or as he puts it "pay-what-you-want". This outdoor event will take place on a small island that still have some of the old military buildings left from the time when Sweden expected to be invaded by the Russians. Today the Russians invades us with great music instead like Tesla Boy and Upstation.

The party is arranged by two other dj crews named Crash Location and gr8n. Crash Location's thing is to crash new locations for parties, this time it was time to crash an island. We promised them to play some tracks that contains the word island.

Funkabit - Lords of Coney Island (Brini Remix)

Pomomofo - Island (The Toxic Avenger Remix)

El Perro Del Mar - Inner Island (The Hood Internet Remix)

Surkin - Silver Island

Citadels - Golden Island (Charlie Fanclub Remix)

The Whitest Boy Alive - Island

The xx - Islands
