Actually have to admit that this new Holy Ghost! track "Dumb Disco Ideas" actually slipped my radar. It's taken from their upcoming album "Dynamics" released on DFA Records. Sounds promising I must say. Always been a big fan and admired what Holy Ghost! done so far, so with this new one I can only hope for a new huge album to come!

Like a blast from the past, one of our favourite producers of the synthier nu disco sound that we used to love (and still do), Cinnamon Chasers, is back with a new EP tomorrow. As much as we like that deep, stripped-down house sound at the moment, Russ Davies reminds us of the power of flowing synthesizer soundscapes filled with nice harmonies. That said, it's not like he sounds exactly like he did in 2010, there's a definitely a housier and funkier streak to him now.

These are the three latest releases from one of our favourite labels OFF Recordings. The latest one is a teaser for the next to come release No 61 with Panos & Sentenza. The release consists of three tracks where one of them is a sweet remix from fellow OFF-people in Leftwing & Cody. I think you should buy your copy of this release when it hit the streets June 25.

The second latest is No 60, a release with two acts, Purple Disco Machine from Dresden in Germany and James Silk from Liverpool in the UK. Two sexy deep soul n' sexy tunes! Buy the release over at Beatport.

Todd Terje's "Strandbar" out today

Today the release of "Strandbar" from Todd Terje is out on Olsen Records. The release comes with three different versions of the same track. The "disco" and the "samba" version are two long faves of mine, sine I first heard them about a month ago. These tracks could be a huge part of the summer tunes we will play and dig. Nightly is the new side project from Christian Strobe, where he goes much deeper underground. Acid, techno and deep house in the best combination! We love it and keep in mind that we are hungover in Paris.

Disclosure - When A Fire Starts To Burn

So, I haven't really come to a conclusion about Daft Punk's album yet. It actually took me a week before I even listened through it, due to the over-hype, but the initial reaction is that it's pretty good. And while my reservations still stand, I think you can probably view it from a different angle too.

Another hyped-up album is the Disclosure's debut "Settle", scheduled for June 3. If the Daft Punk album was the long-awaited return of one of the master duos in the game, "Settle" will be the conclusion of the meteoric rise of the two new kids on the block. Will they be able to hold together a whole album? Will they be able to keep their older fans happy or will they "sell out" as many of them thought about the flirts with commercial R'n'B with "Latch", is there a risk to be underwhelmed as many were with "White Noise"? Or will they cement their place as a young, extremely talented duo who manage to combine commercial success with keeping their street cred?

I liked both "Latch" and "White Noise". And even if they have grown beyond the deep/UK house scene, they're still very much a force to be reckoned with there too, as evidenced by this track from the forthcoming album. I think the original fans who look forward to the album will like it, regardless of whether they do it with great anticipation or with anxiety.

Rumoured to not be included on the album is their bootleg of Ralphi Rosario's 1987 classic "You Used to Hold Me", which is probably due to licensing issues. Too bad, since it's a great tune. Then again, the original is probably one of the best house tracks ever made, so it would be an achievement to NOT make a great track out of it.

Grum - Everytime EP

Interesting to hear some new original material from Grum. Really defining that sunny, naïve, 80's nu disco sound around 2009-10, it was necessary for him to reinvent himself. From the sound of it, I think he has managed to do that. My guess is he's done it by listening a lot to Chris Malinchak, which of course isn't a bad thing since we all love that guy. We're not as mind-blown as from some of those old classics, but "Everything" leaves us wanting more.

The embrace of deep house, and especially the British take on it (that everyone seem to be into at the moment - included us) is emphasized by the remixer selections. Berlin's Andre Crom has made the darker nightclub version, Ejeca's remix is for the cooling down hangout on some Ibiza beach after an all-nighter, while the Mia Dora remix is somewhere in between. Great stuff all around.

"Everything EP" is out now on Heartbeats.
