Sorry that I have not been posting on my blog. But I have had a busy end of year. My father died on November 2,2011 after having a major stroke. But of course I have been reading about all the royals this month. I wish you all the blessing on this new year!
It has been confirmed by the palace that senior members of the British Royal Family phone lines have be hacked. Phone numbers were sold by those that are in charge of protected the Royal Family. Rupert Murdoch's News International has been charged with getting information thru payment according to police official in London. Why does this angry me well I am going to rant for a bit you can agree or disagree. The British Royal Family is allowed to have a private life. I have been so impressed with how Duke and Duchess carry themselves in all events in Canada. From planting a tree next to tree William's parents planted in 1983. You could see in William's face that he was thinking of both his parents. After all they are his parents. No matter what is said about the Wales marriage they raised a son that is full of compassion for others. Talking to a little girl with cancer to getting down on their level. Was learned by his mother to him. He is no longer that little boy that we watched grow up, he is a grown man. That is now married to someone that is very much her own women.

Catherine Middleton(HRH Duchess of Cambridge) is stunning in her own way. We have watched her grow into this role first as girlfriend and then his fiance and now his lovely wife. Catherine is lovely in her way. Smiling and happy and glowing. She was so sweet little girl with cancer and talking to students. Just down to earth. Looking stunning in her outfits. Her main job as wife of Prince William is to give support and love to her husband.

I was so impressed with both of them. I think anyone that follows the British Royal Family should be proud of the future of this family. God Bless William and Catherine!

Welcome to United States TRH Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!

William and Kate arrive in LA

The couple were greeted by Gov. Jerry Brown and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Photographers from around the world let their trigger fingers fly as they snapped pictures of William and Kate exiting their plane at the West Gate of LAX.
"Welcome to California," Brown told William as they shook hands. As a gift, the governor reportedly prepared an iPad 2 loaded with California themed music from the Mamas and the Papas, the Beach Boys and LL Cool J.
The two left the airport in a black Range Rover SUV with police escort.
Their weekend is booked solid with events. On Saturday William will play in a polo match in Santa Barbara. Proceeds from the tickets will benefit the American Friends of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. That's the American wing of the royal brothers' charity which supports at-risk youth, veterans and the environment.
Saturday night the couple hit a red carpet party hosted by the British Academy of Film and TV Arts. Celebrities like Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez are on the guest list. Rising stars of the British film and TV industry will also be at the event.
On Sunday the couple stop at Skid Row to meet with youth from Inner-City Arts, an arts education organization in the heart of downtown LA. Then they head to Culver City to attend a job fair for U.S. servicemen and women before boarding a plane back to England.

Had to share this.

With stage four cancer, little Diamond Marshall may not live to see her dream of meeting Sleeping Beauty's Princess Aurora at Disneyland.
But the six-year-old came pretty close yesterday when she was invited to present a bouquet of flowers to the Duchess of Cambridge as she arrived in Calgary, Canada.
Diamond was so thrilled by the opportunity, that instead of passing across the bouquet, she flung herself forward for a hug, much to Catherine's delight.
It was a rare moment of joy for the youngster, who has been suffering from undifferentiated sarcoma, a rare childhood cancer that affects the body's soft tissues.

Since her diagnosis in February, she has been through surgery and spent weeks in and out of hospital, and has lost her hair due to chemotherapy treatment for the tumour on her abdomen.
Her illness is fresh hardship for the family following the loss of her mother, Memory Marshall, to a different cancer four years ago, at the age of just 32.
Well aware of his daughter's love for all things princess-related, Mr Marshall had mused: 'Maybe she should meet Princess Kate... She will be coming to Calgary, after all.'
The response was overwhelming enthusiasm from Diamond, who wrote a touching letter to the Duchess expressing her desire.
It read: 'Dear Princess Kate. My name is Diamond Ann. I am six. I was named after Princess Diana. My Mommy Memory is in heaven with her.
I spend a lot of time at the hospital. I watched you get married from my bed there. You looked pretty.

Fresh hardship: Diamond's mother, Memory, died from cancer at the age of just 32, four years ago

'I like playing Princess dress up. My favourite princess is Aurora. Who is yours. I would really like to meet you. Do you wait [sic] to meet me too? '
A few days later, Mrs Marshall called the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada to see if there was anything they could do.
'I called them and said, this is going to sound crazy,' she revealed. Mr Marshall also sent the organisation a letter of his own.
He wrote: 'We realize she may not have the chance to go to Disneyland where she wants to lunch with Princess Aurora of the fabled story Sleeping Beauty.
'Should the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just happen to swing by for a little visit, it would go a long way for helping her spirits, her surrounding family and friends.
She is in awe of Princess Kate's fairytale-like story.'
At the beginning of June the family learned that Diamond had been chosen to present the Duchess's bouquet - though they were all required to keep the news a secret - even Diamond.

'I'm not sure she managed to keep it a secret from her friends,' admitted Mrs Marshall, who is mother to Diamond's little sister, Freya, 23 months.
After her meeting with the Royal couple, Diamond said: 'She told me she liked the flowers a lot.
'She was as fancy as she looks on the TV.'

UNDIFFERENTIATED SARCOMA

Undifferentiated sarcoma is a very rare childhood cancer that affects the body's soft connective tissues.
Symptoms include pain or swelling in the affected area. If the tumour is particularly large, it can press on other organs, affecting their performance.
According to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, which specialises in treating children with high-risk cancers, no single treatment method appears to be successful alone.
The usual course of action includes surgical removal of the tumour, chemotherapy and sometimes radiation.
A treatment plan will be based on which part of the body is affected, whether the tumour has spread, and how much of it could be removed in surgery.

Source: cincinnatichildrens.org

Mrs Marshall, who stood close to the little girl throughout the meeting, told how the Duchess complimented Diamond's dress.
She said Catherine was 'so lovely and so gracious. For a little girl who has dreamed of meeting a princess it was a dream come true.'
Mr Marshall added: 'This is so great for her health - it's such a boost for her emotionally, and for her strength.'
Though Diamond is currently in and out of hospital for chemotherapy sessions, Mrs Marshall says that she is responding well to treatment, and that her tumour is shrinking. She is scheduled for further surgery in mid-August.

Diamond's dream was made possible thanks to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

This year, the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes and grants nearly three wishes every day.
Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. They always knew the welcome would be warm.
But as they arrived for an official Canada Day show in an open-topped landau yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked simply overwhelmed by the adulation – and the heat.
More than half a million flag waving people crammed the streets of the city – many having travelled hundreds, if not thousands of miles - just to catch a glimpse of the glamorous newly-weds in temperatures of more than 90F.

Television channels and newspapers are offering wall to wall coverage of the new Duchess’s charm offensive - and while she insists she doesn’t want to be seen as just a ‘clothes horse’, Kate did not disappoint.

This was followed by a blue and cream lace Erdem dress and her much-loved £175 LK Bennett cream pumps for her first two engagements, a visit to the National War Memorial followed by a formal welcome at Government House.

 <img alt="Atten-shun!

In the evening there was a ‘fun’ BBQ with the cream of Canada’s youth for which Kate rolled out another pair of old favourites, the Issa bird print wrap dress she wore the day before she got married with a pair of Pied a Terre sling back wedge heels.

Today there were another outfit to wow the crowds including another familiar sight, the cream £159 Nanette dress by high street store Reiss that she wore for her engagement portrait. The dress was topped off with a Sylvia Fletcher for Lock and Co hat.

Proudly pinned to the Duchess’s dress was The Queen Mother’s diamond Maple Leaf brooch, given to the late monarch by the people of Canada in 1939 and passed down through a generation of royal women.
She accessorised this time with an on-trend Anya Hindmarch tan and coral clutch, in the shape of a fan.
Her final outfit was to be unveiled overnight at an evening pop and rock concert.

And next week Kate is set to create a stir again when she dons full ‘western’ dress including jeans, shirt and cowboy boot at a rodeo in Calgary.

On their first full day of engagements in Ottawa, the launch pad for their gruelling 11 day tour of Canada and the US, the couple attended a Citizenship Ceremony.

Each took the Oath of Citizenship, professing loyalty to the prince’s grandmother, the Queen.

As each new citizen stepped forward, William presented them with a folded Canadian flag before his wife then handed over a small hand flag.

Then it was off to the official Canada Day celebrations in an open-topped carriage similar to the one the couple used on the way back to Buckingham Palace following their April wedding.

The state landau was built in the 1890s from hand-wrought iron and carved wood. It was bought by Governor General Earl Grey in 1911 for $4,000 and donated to the nation.

The couple took their places in a VVIP section and watched the two hour show designed to celebrate the nation’s 144th birthday and featured both music and military displays.
William also gave a short speech to thunderous applause and high pitched screams in which he thanked the Canadian people for their welcome.

Aides have told the Mail the couple have been ‘thrilled and touched’ by the way in which the country – where the Queen is still head of state – has taken them to their hearts.
The 3rd daughter to John and Francis Spencer was born. Named Diana Francis Spencer. Diana life was filled with sadness and joy. Diana moved to London in 1980 and became girlfriend of HRH Prince of Wales. That summer a relationship between them blossomed and love was in the air.In early part of 1981 Prince Charles asked Lady Diana Spencer to marry him. It was happy time for everyone involved. On July 1,1981 celebrated her 20th birthday and few weeks later. She walked into St Paul's as royal bride. Her life as royal was not easy at times. She and Prince Charles had two sons William and Harry. A devoted mother and wife she gave her self to her family. She visited many countries with her husband . She worked on countless charties. She spoke from the heart at times, that is why she is still admired and missed. So today I thank God for the life of Princess Diana. Someone that I admired for her work and style and grace. Happy 50TH Birthday Diana!!!!
I was looking at magazine and People this week had our lovely Duchess of Cambridge on the cover. But for some reason the American Press( I am American) call her Princess. She received the title of Duchess of Cambridge when she married Prince William. Prince William was giving the title of Duke of Cambridge from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II( His Grandmother). So therefore he and his wife are know as: Their Royal Highness Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Catherine one day will be a Princess when her husband becomes the next Prince of Wales. When his father becomes King Charles. But that is not happen anytime soon in near future. So correct people say no Catherine is Duchess of Cambridge.

Here is the order from Her Majesty:
THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE PRESS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN
The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.
Prince William thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and Miss Catherine Middleton on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.

He is becoming as renowned as his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh for livening up formal Royal events with wisecracks.
At Trooping the Colour, Prince Harry took the opportunity to entertain the Royal Family with his quips and had his new sister-in-law Catherine in stitches on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
But the Duchess of Cambridge, who was wearing a form-fitting, double-breasted fitted ivory jacket and dress, with a dramatic black hat, seemed to give as good as she got and at one point, had Harry covering his face with his hands.
After wowing the crowds at Trooping the Colour, Kate is surprise guest at wedding of her 'royal matchmaker'

It was the first time that the newly-weds have had such a prominent role in a Royal Family event. They appeared relaxed as Prince William also made Catherine giggle with his jokes.
Yesterday’s ceremony marked the first time he had taken part in the parade on horseback.
As The Mail on Sunday revealed he would do weeks ago, William escorted the Queen on a grey horse called Wellesley.
Last night friends of the 28-year-old Royal said he had been more nervous ahead of the ceremony than his new wife, who seemed quite at home as she rode in a horse-drawn barouche.
William, in a bearskin which at one point threatened to slip down his face, wore the scarlet Irish Guards uniform he was married in.
The parade marks the Queen’s official birthday on June 11 and takes place on Horse Guards Parade, which was lined with wellwishers.
The Queen, who is marking her 85th birthday, arrived with Prince Philip, who celebrated his 90th birthday on Friday.

Her choice of clothes is already one of the most scrutinised in the world.
But the Duchess of Cambridge is also following a fine Royal tradition: to reuse favourite items as much as possible.
Yesterday at a church service to mark the 90th birthday of the Duke of Edinburgh, Kate wore the same periwinkle blue Jacquard coat dress that she sported to the 2009 wedding of her husband’s close friend, Nicholas van Cutsem.
By dusting down the old, she echoes the policy of the Queen and the Princess Royal - both of whom take great delight in getting the most out of their wardrobes.
Kate, Zara Phillips, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie all tottered into St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, braving whipping winds and driving rain, for a church service to mark the landmark occasion.

Prince William's new title Duke of Cambridge carries 350 years of royal history and all of the hope, heritage, sentiment, misfortune and even scandal that usually comes with such a legacy.

Before the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton, speculation over what royal title the Queen would grant the Prince was rampant. While some put their money on Duke of Cambridge, others thought Duke of Clarence might be the Queen's choice. Personally, when I heard the latter mentioned, it seemed highly unlikely to me that the Queen would give her grandson a title that was last held by the ill-fated Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, who died in 1892.

Prince Eddy, as he was known, was the prematurely-born first child of The Prince and Princess of Wales (later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra). Despite being second in line to the throne (as Prince William, of course, is now) life did not smile on Prince Eddy. As a young man, he was rumored to have been a patron of a male brothel on Cleveland Street in London. Not long after, a certain Mrs. Haddon accused the Prince of fathering her son whom she had named Clarence. Although neither incident was ever "proven," they certainly did not do much for the Prince's reputation, either during his life or after.

After several failed attempts to find a suitable wife for the Prince, an arrangement was finally made between Prince Eddy and his cousin, Princess May of Teck. Before the union could be made, however, the Prince died. (Princess May, as we well know, went on to marry Eddy's younger brother, Prince George, and they became King George V and Queen Mary.)

After this unhappy history, it's no wonder the Queen chose not to grant her grandson the title Duke of Clarence. That said, the title Duke of Cambridge has also had its bad moments in history, but it also holds a special connection to the Queen's beloved grandmother, Queen Mary, and even to Prince William’s late mother, Diana.

The last holder of the title was Queen Mary's uncle, Prince George, the only son of Prince Adolphus, the 1st Duke of Cambridge (fourth creation), who was himself the seventh son of King George III. Queen Mary's mother, HRH Princess Mary Adelaide of Cambridge, was Adolphus' daughter, which made Princess May a great-granddaughter of King George III. But because Princess Mary Adelaide, affectionately known as "Fat Mary," had married HSH Prince Francis of Teck, Princess May grew up as a mere "Serene Highness." This rankled the young woman, who was very proud of her lineage, but was treated as second-rate by her "Royal Highness" cousins. In the end, Princess May had the last laugh as Her Majesty Queen Mary.

Considering that much of Queen Elizabeth's young life was spent under the careful tutelage of Queen Mary and that she inherited many of her grandmother's greatest jewels, including the beautiful Cambridge emeralds, it's not too difficult to see how it would please her to pass that title to her grandson and, through him, to his new wife.

It would be hoped, however, that the title will grant the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge better luck than past holders, especially the earliest ones: the Stuarts. The first three, all children of James Stuart, Duke of York (later King James II), died very young. The first use of the title was in 1660, when the first son of the Duke of York was styled Duke of Cambridge, but died as an infant before he was formally created with the title.

In 1664, another son of the Duke of York was officially created Duke of Cambridge in the Peerage of England, but he died as a very young child. The Duke of York's fourth son was created Duke of Cambridge in 1667 and, again, died in infancy. Ten years later, in 1677, the Duke of York tried again with his fifth son, styling him Duke of Cambridge, but with the same result as in 1660: the boy died as an infant without being officially created with the title.

Finally, in 1706, the third creation of the title was granted to an heir-to-the-throne who actually lived and made it to the throne. George Augustus, Electoral Prince of Hanover, and son of George, Elector of Hanover (later King George II and King George I, respectively), was given the title Duke of Cambridge when he became a naturalized British subject. When he became King in 1727, the title merged with the Crown until it was again given to Prince Adolphus in 1801.

This fourth creation died out with Queen Mary's uncle, Prince George, 2nd Duke of Cambridge, in 1904. The end must have been bitter to the Queen (then Princess of Wales) since it was associated with the private and royally unrecognized marriage of her uncle to an actress named Sarah Fairbrother, known as Mrs. FitzGeorge following her marriage, with whom he had five children (two before the marriage).

This was not the only embarrassment to the Cambridge legacy that Queen Mary had to endure. Her brother, Prince Francis, inherited on their mother’s death the rich bounty of the Cambridge emeralds, which had come into the family around 1818 when the wife of Prince Adolphus, 1st Duke of Cambridge, won the 40 or so cabochon emeralds in a charity lottery in Frankfurt.

These beautiful emeralds were ultimately made into several fine pieces of jewelry, including earrings and a necklace that were passed down to Princess Mary Adelaide. After the unmarried Prince Francis inherited them, he gave them to his mistress, Lady Kilmorey, who still had them in her possession when the Prince died unexpectedly in 1910. Deeply aware that these prized family jewels should not be in the hands of a former mistress, Queen Mary sent someone to retrieve them. As if to remove the stain, in 1911, the Queen had the necklace reset as a choker in the Art Deco style, and the jewels were eventually inherited by Queen Elizabeth II.

In 1985, Diana, as Princess of Wales, caused a sensation when she wore the Cambridge emerald choker, which the Queen had given her as a wedding gift, as a bandeau across her forehead because she was sunburned and couldn't wear it around her neck. The pictures of her wearing the Cambridge emeralds in this fashion as she danced with Prince Charles at a charity ball in Australia are singular in that the couple looks quite happy together.

Considering that the Cambridge emeralds are not Crown jewels, but personal property of the Queen and therefore within her gift, it is fun to think that perhaps the Queen will give them to the new Duchess of Cambridge. Like Diana before her, she would no doubt breathe new life into these historic jewels, just as the young royal couple has breathed new life into the centuries-old Cambridge title.

Diana, Princess of Wales pictured a couple of months before she died a Paris car crash which also killed Dodi Fayed, son of Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed

This week, a sensationalist film with the title Unlawful Killing will be shown at the Cannes Film Festival. It’s directed by Keith Allen, best known as the father of the singer Lily Allen and as the appropriately villainous Sheriff of Nottingham in the recent TV Robin Hood dramas.
One of the selling points of the film is that it is prepared to break every taboo of decency by showing a photo of the Princess as she is dying.
Viewers in Cannes will be able to see her body moments after the Mercedes in which she was travelling with Dodi Fayed crashed in an underpass in Paris and as a doctor desperately tries to administer help.
Of course, a documentary film that said Princess Diana died as a result of a tragic accident is not going to be as exciting as one that repeats the old conspiracy theory that she was murdered as a cover-up by the so-called Establishment.

The film overlooks the fact that British taxpayers spent £12 million in 2008 because Dodi’s father Mohamed Fayed refused to accept the verdict of two inquests.

After 250 witnesses had been called, not a shred of evidence was presented that made anyone believe the deaths were anything other than an accident.

Exciting as it might have been to suppose — as Mohamed Fayed ludicrously claimed — that the Duke of Edinburgh had somehow ordered a white Fiat to cause the Mercedes to crash, not one bit of evidence was produced to make the theory stand up in that six-month inquest.
The trailer for the film shows the U.S. comedienne Kathleen Madigan saying you have to take notice when a woman predicts she is going to be murdered and her death then happens exactly as she predicted.

When she was at a low ebb of unhappiness, Diana made several suggestions that Prince Charles, the Royal Family or the Establishment would like to kill her or lock her up in a mental hospital.
The most specific of these suggestions — and this is the one, presumably, to which Ms Madigan is alluding in the film — is that Prince Charles was tampering with the brakes of Diana’s car.
The fact is that she did not die in her own car. As three inquests made plain, she died because the driver of that car, supplied not by the Establishment but by the Fayed family who owned the Paris Ritz, was very drunk.

Various inquests found that the reason for Diana's Mercedes crashing was due to her drunk chauffeur

So, in answer to Ms Madigan, Diana’s death did not occur exactly as she had predicted.
In fact, I would question whether Diana predicted her own death at all.
She said these things in the depths of her misery when she felt her husband’s family hated her. And when relations were at an all-time low between her and her husband, she was probably right to say there were many in the Establishment who did wish she would leave the scene.
But that is a very different thing from predicting your own death, as this film claims she did.

'It was so difficult': Fergie reveals her hurt over Royal Wedding snub

Wish you were heir! Prince William whisks Kate away on a £4,000-a-night tropical honeymoon 'in the Seychelles'

Grin and bare it! Camilla sees funny side of nude portrait on gallery tour... and proves she's not Her Royal Shyness

It is one thing for her to have said these things when she was alive and feeling wretched; it is quite another for Keith Allen to come along almost 14 years after she died and advance his sensationalist film as a serious ‘documentary’.
He brings forward as witnesses such figures as Noel Botham, who makes his living selling sensational books about the Royal Family, and fanatical republican Stephen Haseler, a professor of government at London Metropolitan University.
In the film, Haseler makes the ridiculous claim that no judge would tell the truth about the death of Diana because judges have all sworn oaths of loyalty to the Queen.
Let me repeat: the French police and a French coroner — who had not sworn oaths of loyalty to the Queen — concluded that the reason for Diana and Dodi Fayed’s deaths was simple: Henri Paul, their chauffeur, was blind drunk.
This verdict was repeated by two British inquests. The cases were heard by coroners and not by judges who had somehow sworn to a royal cover-up.
This latest attempt to make a splash out of this spurious conspiracy theory is both cynical and cruel.
It comes just after the Royal Wedding, at which Prince William and Prince Harry acknowledged that their mother would have loved to have been present.

Diana would be proud of her two boys, Harry and William, who are adored by the British public

It comes after the passage of the years, which have brought healing, closure and, one would assume, feelings of forgiveness in all those close to the Princess.
When Diana first appeared on the public stage, in common with most people in the world, I was bowled over by her beauty and youth.
But when things came unstuck — in particular, when she appeared on a BBC Panorama programme spilling the beans about her marriage — I felt she was making a terrible mistake.
And, in the crude way of us journalists, I started writing unbelievably rudely about her.
The then Defence Minister Earl Howe said she was a ‘loose cannon’, and he was probably right — though he got a lot of stick for saying it.
Then she came to lunch at the newspaper where I worked and a few of us were lucky enough to spend a couple of hours with her.
Over the years, I have dished out a lot of insults to public figures in newspaper columns and the general response to offended dignity has been one of surly pomposity.

Charles and Diana pictured in 1992 - five years before the Princess of Wales' death

There was none of this about Diana. She immediately alluded to my various attacks on her as if they were no more than jokes, and laughed merrily about them.
Not only was she a woman of melting beauty and overwhelming charm, she had perfect manners.
She won me round in two minutes and from that moment I became her ardent and unwavering champion. And I still am.
Very few people in history have the quality she possessed of being able instantly to communicate with everyone.
She had instantaneous crowd appeal. But everyone she met personally was also knocked for six by her charm. It was not fake. It is particularly noxious to be resurrecting the nonsense about her being murdered in Paris.
The true legacy of Diana is not to be found in comments she made when she was in the desperate state of misery that marital collapse brings to any of us who have undergone it.
No, her real legacy, as she would have always been the first to say, is ‘her boys’, two delightful young men whom the British public have taken to their heart.
Their humour and lack of self-importance are recognisably Diana-like virtues.
They do not deserve, and nor do we, a film that shows their mother’s dying moments, padded out with a lot of nonsense by people who were not witnesses to the tragedy, who did not know her and who, frankly, have nothing to add to the sum of human knowledge.
When the divorce took place, many felt torn and took sides. Some of Prince Charles’s friends, obviously meaning the best for the man, made some cruelly ill-judged remarks about Diana.
But I suspect none of these remarks would be echoed today by the Establishment.
As the years go by, we can see she brought a tremendous brightness to public life.
The fact Prince William was so clearly at ease with his stepmother at his wedding shows to all of us that he and his brother have found what therapists call closure.
Their mother lives for ever in our hearts. But she deserves to rest in peace, and this hateful film, which is all lies, deserves to be cold-shouldered by every decent person.

Respect for the Royals

For the last couple months Prince William and his wife-to be shared their engagement with all of us. First showing a picture of someone's death is a painful thing for those that loved Princess Diana. Her sons suffered a terrible lost when their mother died on August 31,1997 and had to carry on with such grace and dignity. I hate when people make money off someone death, I did not know Princess Diana at all but I admired her strength in her life. That is how I and many want to remember her not the last few hours of her life. I will pray for the people that made this film and think how they would feel if this was their mother, ex-wife, sister, and aunt and friend.
Marriage is intended to be a way in which man and woman help each other to become what God meant each one to be, their deepest and truest selves.
Many are full of fear for the future of the prospects of our world but the message of the celebrations in this country and far beyond its shores is the right one – this is a joyful day! It is good that people in every continent are able to share in these celebrations because this is, as every wedding day should be, a day of hope.
In a sense every wedding is a royal wedding with the bride and the groom as king and queen of creation, making a new life together so that life can flow through them into the future.
William and Catherine, you have chosen to be married in the sight of a generous God who so loved the world that he gave himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ.
And in the Spirit of this generous God, husband and wife are to give themselves to each another.
A spiritual life grows as love finds its centre beyond ourselves. Faithful and committed relationships offer a door into the mystery of spiritual life in which we discover this; the more we give of self, the richer we become in soul; the more we go beyond ourselves in love, the more we become our true selves and our spiritual beauty is more fully revealed. In marriage we are seeking to bring one another into fuller life.
It is of course very hard to wean ourselves away from self-centredness. And people can dream of doing such a thing but the hope should be fulfilled it is necessary a solemn decision that, whatever the difficulties, we are committed to the way of generous love.
You have both made your decision today – “I will” – and by making this new relationship, you have aligned yourselves with what we believe is the way in which life is spiritually evolving, and which will lead to a creative future for the human race.
We stand looking forward to a century which is full of promise and full of peril. Human beings are confronting the question of how to use wisely a power that has been given to us through the discoveries of the last century. We shall not be converted to the promise of the future by more knowledge, but rather by an increase of loving wisdom and reverence, for life, for the earth and for one another.
Marriage should transform, as husband and wife make one another their work of art. It is possible to transform as long as we do not harbour ambitions to reform our partner. There must be no coercion if the Spirit is to flow; each must give the other space and freedom. Chaucer, the London poet, sums it up in a pithy phrase:
“Whan maistrie [mastery] comth, the God of Love anon,
Beteth his wynges, and farewell, he is gon.”
As the reality of God has faded from so many lives in the West, there has been a corresponding inflation of expectations that personal relations alone will supply meaning and happiness in life. This is to load our partner with too great a burden. We are all incomplete: we all need the love which is secure, rather than oppressive, we need mutual forgiveness, to thrive.
As we move towards our partner in love, following the example of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is quickened within us and can increasingly fill our lives with light. This leads to a family life which offers the best conditions in which the next generation can practise and exchange those gifts which can overcome fear and division and incubate the coming world of the Spirit, whose fruits are love and joy and peace.
I pray that all of us present and the many millions watching this ceremony and sharing in your joy today, will do everything in our power to support and uphold you in your new life. And I pray that God will bless you in the way of life that you have chosen, that way which is expressed in the prayer that you have composed together in preparation for this day:
God our Father, we thank you for our families; for the love that we share and for the joy of our marriage.
In the busyness of each day keep our eyes fixed on what is real and important in life and help us to be generous with our time and love and energy.
Strengthened by our union help us to serve and comfort those who suffer. We ask this in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Amen.
In official photos released by Clarence House, the bride and groom pose for a traditional wedding album by Hugo Burnand.
The three images include a shot of the happy couple arm in arm, taken in Buckingham Palace's throne room.
In one the newlyweds appear with their young attendants – four bridesmaids and two page boys – who lightened the atmosphere at the formal shoot.

Prince Charles movingly described Kate Middleton as the daughter he had never had yesterday and admitted: ‘We are lucky to have her.’
In a touching speech, the clearly emotional prince paid tribute to his new daughter-in-law – but still found time to crack jokes about his eldest son and his famously thinning hairline.
Charles chose to say a few off-the-cuff words as he toasted the newlyweds at a Buckingham Palace champagne reception thrown by the Queen for 650 guests and wished the couple a long and happy life together.
He said they were really lucky to have a daughter like her.’
The retired headmaster of St Andrews preparatory school in Pangbourne, Berkshire, added: ‘I think Kate will be a wonderful role model.
She will make a very good queen. She brings a lot to the party and I think they recognise that.
'The speech really brought a tear to the eye. She was a delightful child and is now a delightful young woman.’
Susie Lea, a friend of the Middleton family, described the moment that Charles brought the house down.
‘He was stood slightly up on a small stand so he was looking down on William to his left. William smiled, he was amused. Kate looked amused as well.’
The couple walked into the Palace’s historic picture gallery shortly after 1.30pm following their balcony appearance, serenaded by a golden harp played by Charles’s official musician, Claire Jones.
After meeting and greeting their guests, the newlyweds cut their cake to the whoops and cheers of their friends.
One attendee who said his son was a schoolfriend of Prince William said: ‘Kate looked immaculate, she was beaming the whole time.
An astonishing 10,000 canapes were served during the two-hour reception, prepared by Buckingham Palace’s 21-strong team of kitchen staff.
Guests toasted the happy couple with a £200 Pol Roger NV brut reserve champagne and a selection of other soft and alcoholic drinks.
Amen.
The newly ennobled Duchess of Cambridge walked down the aisle at the Westminster Abbey in her v-neck Alexander McQueen gown, designed by creative director Sarah Burton, and it was accessorized with glittering touches fit for a princess.

Middleton's cascading curls were topped off by a 1936 Cartier halo tiara lent to her by Queen Elizabeth. The tiara, which was purchased by King George VI for the Queen Mother, was presented to the Queen on her 18th birthday, the Palace confirms.

With her hair swept behind her ears, Middleton wore leaf-shaped diamond earrings by Robinson Pelham, which were made to match her tiara. They also featured a diamond set drop and pavé set diamond suspended in the center.

The earrings were a gift by her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

Sister – and maid of honor – Pippa Middleton wored a similar pair of diamond earrings, also designed by Robinson Pelham.
