Take a close inside look at the supersize Duggar family (18 children plus parents)! Since their first documentary on the Discovery Health Network, viewers have been fascinated with the story of this couple’s faith and belief that children are a blessing from God. Their first book, The Duggars: 20 and Counting, is an inspiring and entertaining collection of stories, photos, recipes, tips, traditions, and practical ideas designed to answer the questions of the curious. Some of the questions they answer are “Why do you have so many children?”, “How do you provide for your family financially?”, “How do you handle mealtimes…transportation… laundry…birthdays?”, “How are your children so well behaved?”, and “Why do all your children have names that begin with J?”. Adopt a few ideas from the Duggars and improve the peace and love inside the walls of your own home. Paperback.

Protecting your skin from sun damaging is certainly important, but today I want to talk about another aspect of HydroChic – their looks.

If you watched one of the recent 18 and Counting Duggar family episodes, when Joshua and Anna went on their honeymoon, and Anna wore modest swimwear that drew a lot of comments on blogs across the internet, then you have seen what a modest swimsuit looks like. While I’m not for sure if it was from the HydroChic line – it sure looked like one of theirs!

Whether you define modesty as ‘dresses only’, or just prefer to be covered in a longer bike shorts style, HydroChic has you covered – literally. Their swimwear fashions are top-notch and all with the UV protection I blogged about last year.

HydroChic swimwear looks like any other athletic wear. Sure, the modest skirt styles are unique, but still attractive and not ugly at all. They’ve done a very fine job, in my opinion, in combining function and fashion in their product line – without crossing the line and compromising modesty to do so.

I respect that, but more importantly, I would wear that! Seriously, I’ve seen some modest swimwear that, well… while certainly modest, would draw so much attention to myself that I felt would defeat the purpose of modesty in the first place. I believe HydroChic has accomplished something other modest swimwear companies have not – a true merging of function, fashion and modesty.

Check out HydroChic for yourself to see all their swimwear styles – they’re even having a big sale right now!

Sorry I’ve not blogged here much lately. I’m around, and if you follow me on Twitter you’ll see I’m very active there or on Facebook. I’m also blogging on my business site and have been very busy business-wise, as my husband is out of work, so I’m trying to kick my business into high gear to hopefully make it so he can just retire and I’ll provide for our family. He has indicated this is fine with him – and he would then do my bookkeeping, help homeschool the children, etc… so it would then make my business more a family run operation. It’s just a lot of work.

Anyway, if you’ve been following me via Twitter, you’ll know that earlier this week my mother-in-law had a severe stroke. Her entire left side was paralyzed. My father-in-law was given the option by the doctors to give her this shot that they said would (to sum it up to a very fine point) cure her or kill her. The survival rate for someone who takes this shot is only 17%, but with the severity of her stroke, her full recovery rate was not good. Yet if the shot worked, the success rate was very good. That’s a lot of if’s. So my father-in-law prayed and decided to let them give her the shot.

I immediately posted for prayer on Twitter, which also automatically posts on my Facebook wall. Within 30 minutes I had at least 50 replies in my Twitter replies of people praying, I had well over 100 soon after. I stopped counting after that.

When my husband went to the hospital and told his parents about this, they cried. They were overwhelmed with emotion that so many people they did not know, from all over the world, would stop and pray for them. Truly it was touching.

The good news is that the medicine worked! My mother-in-law is up and walking, talking and honestly – you can not tell she even had a stroke. It’s only been 5 days. Yes, the medicine had something to do with it, but I believe it was the prayers of the faithful that decided which outcome the medicine would have for her. Cure! God heard our prayers – even via Twitter!
