Inspirational Hike in Virginia Mountains

The weather was so perfect this past weekend, I took a day off and headed off to the Appalachian Trail just outside of Roanoke. McAffe’s Knob is a pretty easy 5 mile hike with some spectacular scenery at the top.

Since we’re only a few days until the first day of summer (though it definitely feels like summer is already here!), I thought I would display some of my beach and ocean inspired paintings. All of these are original oils and measure 8″ x 10″.

Artfusion Art Show in Franklin Tennessee

I just got back from Franklin Tennessee (just to the south of Nashville) where I participated in the Williamson County Arts Council’s yearly festival, Artfusion. This (thankfully with the high temps) was my first major indoor show, and was a good experience. The Factory at Liberty Hall was a great venue for this event. Formerly a woodstove factory, it has been renovated into an indoor mall with shops, boutiques, and artist studios. There is a space for weddings and other events, as well as a larger venue with small stages and a mezzanine (this is where Artfusion happened).

This event featured an evening of wine and music on Friday night, and live music through the rest of the two day event, which really added to the atmosphere.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the arts!

My only regret is that I didn’t have more time to check out downtown Franklin!
