First Up, Sue Sinor reads a story about a nice young man who goes about “acquiring” Christmas presents in a way that most people would never consider doing in “Christmas Shopping.” The story is part of the chapbook “Playing With Secrets.”

Lastly, Julia Mandalla brings us a reading about the other guy (or in this case, gal) in the bright red suit and her redheaded minions in The Four Redheads of the Apocalypse: Apocalypse now.

Don’t forget about Yard Dog Press’s holiday sales and deals. If you order by December 4, you can get a massive amount of free books!

Also: Selina, Tracy, Traci and Ethan will be attending a Yard Dog Press reading at Hastings Books in Russellville, Arkansas on Saturday, December 3rd from 12:00 until 5:00. If you will be in Russellville during that day, stop in and say Hi.

Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family you may only see once a year. And hopefully, if they annoy you too much, you can be thankful that you only see them once a year.

In celebration of the holiday, we at Yard Dog Press bring you a family themed podcast. Selina Rosen reads from her story Uncle Jack and the Psycho Hosebeast from Hell which is from The Bubba Chronicles.

Then Frank Summers brings you a rootin’ shootin’ tale of cowboys and yumbies in Buffalo Bubba’s Wild West.

After that, Ethan Nahté reads from his story Bubbas, Barbarians and Yumbies, Oh My! In which two redneck zombie hunters teach Robert E. Howard how to fight zombies and get invited to dinner in the process.

If you like the podcast, you can subscribe to us through iTunes. If you want to support the podcast and help us keep the lights on, you can purchase a book from Yard Dog Press. The company will have several holiday sales this season, including a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale.
Because Selina was busy packing for Dragon*Con, she didn’t have time to get me an audio segment. That could mean that we could inject some fine culture into the podcast, but then I realized: This is Yard Dog Press. We don’t have any highfalutin’ fine culture.

So instead, we bring you three readings from the Bubbas of the Apocalypse universe. First up, Jody Lynn Nye reads from her short story “Bubba Suey.” This story is featured in the anthology International House of Bubbas.

Then we have an audio recording from the Yard Dog Press Traveling Roadshow at ConQuesT in Kansas City. There James Hollaman read from his short story “Daniel Boone, King of the Final Frontier.” This story is featured in the book Houston, We’ve got Bubbas.

Lastly, Jerry Davis reads from his short story “It Came From Willy McCracken’s Buttocks,” which was also featured in Houston, We’ve got Bubbas.

As Selina Rosen is fond of saying: “We Here at Yard Dog Press are all about the class.

And if you are at Dragon*Con, look for Yard Dog Press authors Laura J. Underwood, Sherry Dean and Claudia Christian, as well as our newest releases I Should Have stayed in OZ, Black Rage and Wandering Lark.

Also: We are now on iTunes. You can find us by searching Yard Dog Press (the podcast is the only non-book available).
