The Expand MediaScreen 3 retractable banner stand is the most beautiful and elegant marketing display stand we have ever seen – a true example of Scandinavian design and functionality. With its sleek lines, neutral color choices and adjustable graphic system, it perfectly compliments any marketing message or brand.

We can’t wait to use it again at our next event and trade show – and here are 5 new features we found worth noting.

Expand MediaScreen 3 with removable graphic cassette.

1. The Expand MediaScreen 3 has the easiest graphic exchange on the market.

We find ourselves in front of different audiences all the time and it’s important we send the right message. With the Expand MediaScreen 3′s graphic cassette system we can easily install the message we need at the office or in the field. Here’s how we do it.

1. Change-out your graphic cassette with two clicks – no tools needed.
2. Simply click to open the snap locks and the graphic cassette is released – then insert your new cassette and close the snap locks – it’s that easy.

2 Click Removal of the Expand MediaScreen 3 Graphic Cassette

2. Adjustable Graphic Angle

For a perfectly vertical graphic on uneven surfaces, simply turn the knob to adjust the graphic angle forwards or backwards. The adjusting knob is also very useful when adding a BrochurePocket or Spotlight to your stand which can cause the Expand MediaScreen 3 to lean slightly forward. A few turns of the knob and your print looks straight.

Quick adjustment to the vertical angle of your graphic.

3. A new range of accent colors

We like the 5 new sophisticated, modern colors chosen for the end caps: Ruby Black, Midnight Blue, Polar White, Chrome, Grey Rubber (rubber material). They allow our customers to choose a look that compliments their graphic message and brand.

Quickly mix and match accent trim to fit your brand.

4. The new refined shape of the Expand MediaScreen 3

With it’s compact sleek design, the Expand MediaScreen 3 is surprisingly stable. Perfect for displaying in high traffic venues.

The sleek aerodynamic shape of the Expand MediaScreen 3

5. A hard case for maximum protection

The Expand MediaScreen 3 comes with it’s own hard case which is highly shock resistant and protective during transport & storage. The Spotlight fits inside next to the display – which means one case holds everything. And that, we like.

Expand MediaScreen 3 protective hard case with handle and shoulder strap

I came across a blog post full of great trade show ideas titled “Exhibiting In A Strained Economy.” I particular liked the insight Linda provides on “Getting More Display Mileage”.

From the article:

“The best and most efficient way to accomplish this without having a lot of extra expenses is to have your main display feature only your logo, a tagline and some art/graphics. The specific messaging can be achieved through smaller, inexpensive add-on banners or on an audio-visual presentation you play onscreen. This way you can continue to successfully customize your message for each show eliminating the need to replace your large display as often.”

Preparing for the show early, reducing the size of your booth packaging and knowing the location of your Exhibit Hall are the keys to saving money when shipping a 10×10 trade show booth.

Don’t wait until the last minute to get your trade show graphics.
Many clients we have wait until the last minute to get graphics for their booths – and we are always happy to complete them on time and get them to show. But in many cases this requires overnight shipping – and for a 10×10 booth can be $400-$500.

Is your booth portable?
By far this is the easiest way to keep cost down when shipping a 10×10 trade show booth is to keep it portable. Shipping crates, skids or multiple boxes will require special shipping and forklift delivery to your booth, which can be big bucks.

If possible keep your booth light and compact. There are many 10×10 booth that pack down into a single shipping case – a shipping case that then converts into a podium or counter in your booth. See an example of a trade show case / counter here.

Delivery your booth to the hotel or a FedEx, UPS / Shipping Store nearby.
Many hotels will accept large packages. Call ahead and see what they will charge to receive your booth a day before the show set up.

Shipping your booth to one of the many FedEx, UPS, or Shipping Stores near the Exhibit Hall, and many exhibit halls have a location on the premises. This will allow you to confirm that the booth has arrived before you leave to go to the show.

Shipping to alternate locations may involve a taxi ride, walking through unbearable weather or may be a time inconvenience all together and not worth the extra savings. In the end, delivering it to the show may be your best option.

Many exhibitors are left sitting at an empty booth wondering why no one is stopping by. With some strategic planning around your business and a coordinated game plan you can attract more visitors to you trade show booth.

Invite customers to the trade show. Have a full appointment book of meetings with potential buyers and current clients before you attend the trade show.

Don’t wait until the day of the show to start your marketing. Send e-mail and postcards to reach people you don’t already have a connection with and follow up with phone call.

A black curtain backdrop with an exhibitor sign is not a booth. Design an attractive and inviting display that is memorable and stands out from competing businesses. And always use lights.

No generic messages. Position yourself with a message that answers the needs of your target audience at that specific trade show.

Sitting around looking bored will attract the same response. Give off a friendly and inviting energy. Let people know you believe in the products and services you’re offering.

If you would like help implementing these ideas into your next trade show booth, let us know how we can help you. Feel free to call 828.551.6993 or email sales@akioe.com.

Many of our customers buy our trade show displays without lights, only to call us a few weeks later to order them. The thought is that the trade show venue or event will provide plenty of light, which in most cases is true. But when all the exhibits around you are displaying lights and your not, your booth tends to look like it is in the shadows.

As simple of a concept as it may seem, adding lights to your trade show booth will make it brighter and more attractive to your audience and place you visually above competitors.

“I am glad we bought the lights for our banner stands – they make a BIG difference. – Steve”

Trade shows our a collection of business that are all competing for the attention of it’s attendees. So how do you make your trade show booth stand out from the crowd and create an impression? Don’t Make Them Think!

Keep your space open and clean: A cluttered booth can be a big turn-off. Keep your space organized and open and arrange your messages and products by hierarchy of most important to make sure they are the most visible.

Keep your message short and to the point: Trade show booths are like billboards on a highway, you only have seconds to get your message across and capture the attention of an attendee before they move on.

Direct attention with color: A booth with uniform color can be visually attracting and help separate you from your exhibiting neighbors.

Direction attention without color: Vice versus, a trade show exhibition can be a sea of color in every direction you look and some of the most visually pleasing and attractive booths at a show are all white.

Call to action: Never leave your viewer wondering what to do next. Give your call to action it’s own voice, color or space to help differentiate and direct a viewer into your desired response.

If you would like help implementing these ideas into your next trade show booth, let us know how we can help you. Feel free to call 828.551.6993 or email sales@akioe.com.

There are many reasons why tradeshows have been effective for all types of businesses over the past 80 years. Face-to-face marketing accelerates the sales cycle and still represents the best dollar-for-dollar value versus other competing media/marketing vehicles.

Tradeshows provide Exhibitors with the opportunity to meet clients, prospects and decision makers face-to-face to:

1. Generate leads & drive incremental sales
2. Solidify relationships with current customers
3. Establish relationships with prospects, key target markets & the media
4. Shorten the sales cycle
5. Introduce & promote new products to a new or existing market
6. Enhance brand & product visibility
7. Educate & demonstrate new uses for existing products
8. Obtain feedback on new & existing products
9. Learn the latest industry trends
10. Gain competitors insight
11. Conduct competitor & market research
12. Network with key industry contacts and key opinion leaders
13. Learn more about the industry they support
14. Have a presence in the industry
15. Gain exposure in new markets
16. Find personnel to grow your company
17. Build sales force moral & foster comaraderie
18. Demonstrate your commitment to a marketplace and your clients
19. Identify new business opportunities
20. Reinfoce & test marketing strategies

When evaluating whether to exhibit at a show or not, consider how your presence – or absence – at important trade shows affects your business. Trying to save a few dollars today could compromise business tomorrow.

Special thanks to the marketing team of Orbus for spreading the word about trade show exhibiting.
