Junior Trader Program

Our firm, a division of WTS Proprietary Trading Group, is recruiting a few select candidates to join their team of traders. We are interested in qualified candidates who have a passion for trading and are ready to receive the systems training and support to improve the opportunity to profit from trading on an intra-day basis. Our group utilizes a systematic approach, based on historical data so that you may trade with precision and accuracy. Our lead traders who provide mentorship are experienced and are consistently profitable. You will receive daily assistance, one-on-one mentoring, as you learn various trading methodologies and strategies within a team environment.
At the completion of your orientation period, you will be allocated a portion of the firm’s capital to begin your career as a junior equity trader. This capital allocation is reviewed on a weekly basis. Performance based increases in capital allocations are made if a trader exhibits consistent profitability and growth. Traders will be expected to analyze, model, and deploy equity trading strategies and improve upon trading system performance.
Requirements:
• All traders are required to take and pass the industry Series 56 exam unless you have an active Series 7 which may obviate the need for the examination through the waiver process.
• You will be required to provide a capital contribution of $1,500 which will be deposited to your capital account with the company
• This is a non-salaried based position and you must be in a stable financial position to endure possibly 3-5 months without income. Eligible candidates will have strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills, and an understanding of developing and deploying technical strategies.
• Solid object oriented programming, computer science, quantitative, or previous trading experience preferred.

Equity Derivatives Trainee
Our training program teaches trainees the essentials of stock options trading and the skills that make for a successful career on the trading floor. Trainees will receive a guaranteed salary during their time in the program, with the expectation that 'graduates' will go on to become Junior Traders then onto highly compensated company traders.
Expectations
• Keen awareness of critical situations, ability to shift from fast market to slow market conditions quickly and efficiently.
• Anticipate the needs of traders throughout the day, quick comprehension and delivery of tasks.
• Balance/resolve position discrepancies before opening bell; notify trading staff of unexpected position changes intra-day.
• Ability to filter information to trading staff by necessity; reporting pertinent information to management in a timely fashion.
• Trainees are required to articulately voice needs of the trading staff to IT, vendors, clearing firm, brokers/other market makers, and the exchange if necessary. • Trainees are required to be well versed with all methods of communication provided by the company these may include but are not limited to IM, telephone, and email.

As a member of this team, the Brokerage Trader uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to provide trading support for various types of equity and mutual fund products in brokerage accounts.
