Commodity Trader

Position will have responsibility for moving US crude soybean oil into domestic and export markets. The person will work very closely with OPD crush plants and refineries making sure production rates and refinery needs are well coordinated. It is very important for this position to work across both regional and divisional lines.

Essential Functions

Primary focus will be on the marketing of US crude oil to domestic and support oil export channels
Ensure that the crude oil supply to refineries and the crude oil stocks from US crush plants are balanced
Coordinate meal and oil export availability and demand by understanding US export grids and global freight spreads
Coordinate crushing rates with soybeans supply, meal demand, oil demand and refinery needs
Responsible for working with the risk desk in coordinating the Oilseed Processing Division oil hedging strategy are essential job functions
Develop strong working relationship with logistics to minimize costs and exposure while maximizing returns on export programs
Develop strong relationship and market perspective with Biodiesel industry in the US
Coordinate with export desk as needed to maximize Bunge sales opportunities and returns as it relates to export combo business

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Business, Finance or an applicable related field required
Three to five years experience in Agribusiness required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong working knowledge of and proficiency in Excel, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Word as well as basic computer functions
Knowledge of System 2000, GTS, and Railtrac preferred
Understanding of cash and futures markets required
Understanding of domestic and export markets with emphasis on both origin and destination export business required
Knowledge of crush margins and returns, freight spreads, and a strong understanding of supply and demand in balancing and evaluating OPD US product availability and returns
