So far the suggestions seem to be random, so they are less than helpful. If Twitter where to apply some logic and algorithm to this feature, I could see it as being very useful. Attached is a screen shot of the new feature.

I get this far but then Iâ€m unable to see a preview or get the code for the box.

I finally found a solution.

Go to this url: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box

Add your page ID number, adjust a few setting and you should be ready to add the box to your wordpress blog.
