Work is going okay, I’m getting used to the Mac again and working quicker. I got most of a project done today, though there’s a few changes I would like to make to it still. Today was a little odd as he left me alone in his house to work after an hour so he could take his German-speaking friends to LAX. Dunno if I am working tomorrow or what time that will be as I have class from 1100 until 1500 (we usually get out early though) so I have to call him in the AM and find out when he wants me to come by.

I’ve got another possible logo job in the works- still need to do some initial designing and see if they decide to go with it. I hope they do. Any work is a good thing.

I missed going to class yesterday and was all worried that I was going to fall behind, especially after that last bad test grade. But on review of that half of the chapter, I saw it was one of the few chapters in the book that I know the material so hopefully that will go well once the test comes up. I hope. My fingers and toes are crossed.

The news has been full of idiots lately. I haven’t actually seen any of this, but my Dad has routed it back my direction so I’m sharing second hand with you. A cop left his police dog locked in the hot car and the dog died… a man nearly got stomped to death by some punks when he confronted them about grabbing his 12 year old daughter’s ass… they got misdemeanor charges. A woman reports her baby as missing… over a month after the child has last been seem. What the hell is wrong with these people? *sigh*

Add in that I did really really badly on my last math test that we got back (I honestly thought I aced it) and I’m not so happy. Its countered by my finding employment, but the naysayer in me still wants to worry that maybe this guy won’t be legit and I won’t get paid and I’ll have wasted all that gas money driving back and forth… *sigh*.

But all things considered, and even not considered, it was a good day. I worked for five hours, and Monday will see me there again. Its kinda of weird, working out of someone else’s house, but I don’t have to worry about looking all super nice- I just have to be presentable. *shrugs*

I also got some follow-ups on some work queries from last week- looks like I may have two new jobs for logos, and slowly but surely the WP install and general help is smoothing out. I’m glad because I really want her to be happy with everything.

First thing I am doing when I get paid is getting my nails done. Yenta, this means you.

Yes, she had more to say then just that and it’s not something totally horrible, but its still irritating to have to wait and then have to be referred elsewhere for it to be taken care of. I’m not too amused. And I’ve been so much better behaved over the last year then all the time previous… hell, I haven’t gotten any since March.

So now I am waiting waiting waiting. I hate waiting. But worse then waiting is knowing there is probably something wrong and that they won’t do anything about it until they get my labs back. Grrr.

Last night I cut all the pieces for my next dress; this one is a 1947 model. Full skirt, halter neck, very cute. Could be a little on the fancy side if made with the right material. This time though I’m doing it out of that black fabric with the skulls and roses on it. I knew I’d come up with a great use for it and I have- now I just have to finish the project.

I’ve got the skirt mostly done, just have to sew up one side of it, and the bodice is about half done. What I didn;t notice when I started is it has a side zipper, so that’ll be a first for me. Not that its any different then a back zipper, but I don’t think I’ve ever owned anything with a zipped under the arm.

I’m taking a break on it here tonight and will sew up the other side of the skirt, and start work on lining the bodice tomorrow. I should be pretty much done by Tuesday even working at a snail’s pace, and can go buy a zipper after I get out of class on Tuesday.

It’s funny but since last Friday my week has been great- really, really great. The only bad part was the dog chewing up my cables for the Xbox, and that is really pretty minor. Annoying, but minor. I had a great weekend hanging out with SanDi, came back and have secured a couple of logo jobs over the week, one WP set up with some template mods, and I have a feeling I’ll have two more logo jobs paid for before the week is up. And this morning I made $200. for ear tagging a bunch of goats- sort of an emergency and they had to be done ASAP as the people are moving today, so at 0730 I was at their house tagging away. Easy money is always nice.

I’m actually happy for once. How weird is that?

The other day, the puppy drags a pair of my mom’s jeans through the entire house and starts in on chewing them up. Instead of taking them away from her and swatting her little behind, my mom says “Oh, well they don’t really fit anyway.” and lets her chew them up.

Either way, its apparently my fault that she chewed up the cables. Fucking pisses me off.

I’ve been advertising every week on the goat lists, as well as the homesteading list when I remember, and have gotten a few bites. What I need to do is print out flyers and distribute those- anyone know if its actually legal to put them on cars and stuff? With all my contact info on them, if its not legal, its gonna be damned difficult to say it wasn’t me!

Anyone have other suggestions for advertising? I’m also checking into the local free publications.
