How To Load A Dirt Bike Safely

2011-12-15T13:44:00.000+08:00

By Tom Stark

I know, I shouldn't need to go over this topic. But some people just don't use sound judgment sometimes... If you load a bike, it's suppose to go up and stay there until you're taking it out again.

One of the worst things you can do is haul your bike in a lifted truck. I see people do it, and it just makes me chuckle inside. The higher up the truck bed is, the more difficult and strength it will need to load your bike in it; naturally. So, you want to drive a pick-up that has a low bed, or a trailer to make loading easier, particularly if it's just you.

Getting Help

The way that I've always done it is: me and my old man each stand beside a side of the bike. The two of us lift on our side of the forks and handlebars to get the front wheel on the tailgate on the truck. Then we lift up the rear of the bike with the swing-arm. Once both wheels of the dirt bike are in the bed of the truck, I hop up in it to hold on to the bike before it tips over. Also, before loading the bike, we set the tie-straps out and set the hooks over the loops at the front of the bed so they're ready when we have the bike up. We then put a tie-strap on one side of the handlebars, then lean the bike over and place the other strap on. Then it's just tightening it down far enough so the dirt bike won't move.

Being The Lone Hero

For those of you that can't, or plain just don't want to get help, it is possible to load a dirt bike without any help. The first way to do it is putting a dirt bike ramp on the tailgate of the truck, and putting a solid bike stand along side of the ramp approximately a foot or two beyond the tailgate. Push your dirt bike within the handlebars having a running start up the ramp, stepping on the stand while you push it up, and then stepping onto the tailgate as soon as you get the bike up. This could be difficult in the beginning for smaller people, however, if you get enough momentum it will be easier than you think.

A different way of how to load a dirt bike on your own is similar to the previous, but now you aren't using as much strength. Instead, start the bike and place it into first gear. You will still need some momentum, but you can let the bike do almost all work by slipping the clutch and giving it a bit gas to get up the ramp. This does require some practice and technique, so if you aren't confident then I wouldn't consider it alone.
The 3rd solution to load a dirt bike without help is the way that I do it if I haven't any help, though it cannot always be done. If you find a hill or slope, back your truck up to it as close as possible. Put a ramp on the tailgate, then push your bike slowly down the hill and onto the ramp. Make sure the tires stay in the middle of the ramp so it stays in one spot. If the hill is steep or large enough, you will be able to just walk onto the bed of your truck with the bike and strap it down. Bear in mind that if there is no hill then you certainly won't be able to do this, so expect to improvise if you're alone.

If all else fails, it is easy to haul your bikes on a motorcycle carrier, that's easy enough for 1 person to load.
Since we have a regular or short bed truck, we simply cannot shut the tailgate having a full-sized motocross bike. Some try to half-way shut it and strap it... I don't worry about it. I simply ensure the two straps are good and tight on the handlebars, and haven't had any problems with that. You could add another strap or two to the pegs, frame, swing-arm, or rear wheel of the bike if you're that worried.
Best of luck, and try to not look like a goon when you load your dirt bike!

Motorcycle Riding Techniques

2011-12-07T10:57:00.001+08:00

Motorcycle riding techniques vary regarding a variety of factors. These include where you plan on doing most of your riding, the type of motorcycle you have, if you’re planning on doing any long distance touring or off-road riding, how your bike is equipped, and other considerations. For example, if you use your motorcycle for everyday commuting and local trips around town, you’ll have different needs than if you were embarking on a coast-to-coast road trip. Similarly, the riding techniques used when getting off the road on a trail bike or a motocross track are quite different than those utilized for a typical street bike excursion.

The riding techniques and equipment that are necessary for a successful long road trip should always be carefully planned and attended to. The size and style of the bike is of primary importance as it would never be a good idea to embark on a lengthy road trip on an undersized or underpowered motorcycle. Accessories and equipment to consider are a full windscreen, crash bars, buddy seat if necessary, and suitable saddlebags and other storage devices. Small trailers are available should you have the need for additional storage. Proper riding apparel is very important when planning a long trip and should always include a helmet with face screen, leather riding suit, gloves, and sturdy protective footwear. Careful trip planning is an important factor as well, for by establishing a itinerary and route plan you can calculate the distances you’d like to cover per day, where your fuel and meal stops will be, side trips you might like to take, and where your overnight layovers are, whether they are motels, campgrounds, or maybe just a couch at a friend’s house.

Here are simple guidelines before riding your motorcylce:

The first tip that you need to follow is that you have to wear and exercise the exact gear, such as wearing a helmet. There are various designs and modes with regard to this type of gear like pink motorcycle helmets that you can opt for from the market that can assist you keep your head from being hurt if ever you got yourself from any road accidents. If you are not certain about to the precise gear and the great brands, you can seek some help from motorcycle blog where you can gain several information from the advices, articles and reviews from the certified people and well-trained.

Second is that you can also get an appropriate motorcycle and safety teaching. Right teaching means that you will gain knowledge from the experts. You can learn various strategies and safety precautions that are associated in riding your bike. Furthermore, you can also be knowledgeable with regard to different laws related to it.

Lastly, you have to make sure that your motorbike is in a good condition. You have to ensure that every part of it is working appropriately before you use it. Remember that you cannot renounce your security on this type of automobile apart from the fact that you check it first before riding it. Once you distinguished any damaged portions, you have to change it instantly since it can set off greatly a lot of dilemmas when you are on the road. With these easy tips, you can make sure that you will get there in your destination with no problem at all.

Local riding, whether commuting to work or just taking day trips out of town, doesn’t necessarily require the careful planning of an extended road trip. but techniques and proper equipment still play a significant role. Like so many things, skill comes with experience and as time goes on you’ll find that your individual motorcycle riding techniques will continue to develop as you become a seasoned, safe, and accomplished rider.

Customizing Your Motorbike

2011-12-07T10:35:00.001+08:00

So you get a new motor bike that is just like thousands of others on the road. It’s the same color and has stock rims, tires and a stock paint job. What can you do to make it an original piece of artwork that describes it’s owner and is a one of a kind motor bike?

Most anything you change to customize your bike can be done by the regular old Joe with a handful of tools. It’s very simple work to achieve your own style.

Remember the big fad of choppers in the 70′s? If you like that style, it is simple to change out a few things and have the ape-hanger look. You change out the front tire and rim to a larger one and change the handle bars to the longer, higher chopper style and you are on the road. Putting a big fat wide slick tire on the back looks good with this style too.

How about the leather and chromed out look? Leather saddle bags and handle bar tassels are easy to put on and chrome is soooo cool. Chrome pegs, exhaust system, breathers and any other accessories you can put on is flashy, but remember to keep them clean and shiny to keep the look fresh. These also go good with a nice custom paint job on the tank and fenders. Flames are cool. You can get a lot of designs in any color you want. The more exotic paint jobs are really chick magnets though. The tigers, lions and demons are so neat. Fire breathing animals and demons really catch the eye as you are riding down the road. Oh, and with these, the chrome lions or other designs on the front fender with the red led eyes that light up when you turn the headlights on are the best. There are also paint jobs to be noticed that aren’t so radical. Some of these have paint with a lot of pearl and metal flake in them like marine paint. A new look is the paint that changes color in the sunlight and also looks like different colors when you look at it from different angles.

And last, but definitely not least, different seats make a huge change in the look and the ride. Many custom seats have plenty of room for the rider and the passenger. Want your chick to hand on to you? Get a seat that is really small in the back for the passenger and make sure you gun it when you take off. The chick on the back will definitely hold on to you tight.

Entrepreneurs: Born or Made?

2011-11-28T10:52:00.001+08:00

Becoming an entrepreneur is by far one of the most complex human processes you could undertake, for it involves discovering your leadership style, ability to influence followers, timing, resources, technology, history, luck and a few things that have not yet been thought yet.

However, like other complex phenomena and processes, it's only when they're broke down to their essential parts that the inner workings could be understood. This kind of understanding has spun programs in the different universities in the form of academic degrees.

For decades, our forefathers in entrepreneurship managed to grow and learn by sheer experience. Some of it is practical. For example, a novice entrepreneur will learn that it's important to find the quickest way to make a profit without compromising the end dream, or that he could focus on direct selling rather than spend on mass advertising. A good example is self-awareness-over time, each of us becomes more and more aware of what we really are. And although this process is not always smooth, we eventually figure out what suits us best.

But like any activity that happens naturally, at some point a smart person would sit back and formalize all his accumulated knowledge into a sequence of steps that, if followed would lead to performance. To illustrate, after studying entrepreneurs, we realize that they start with a probable opportunity. They prepare a detailed business plan afterwards. Then, they slowly build a team. Then, they pitch their business ideas to investors, and so on. In short, follow this sequence of steps, and you would probably be an entrepreneur.

To become a successful entrepreneur, you must therefore understand and become aware of your natural talents, and combine them with learning.

Kindness

2011-11-28T09:41:00.001+08:00

What is kindness? Do we seldom experience it such that we have trouble defining it? In my case, kindness has been manifested in so many ways that I want to share with you because I choose to celebrate and affirm what is good in my life.

Kindness for me is a practice of being or the capability to be sympathetic and compassionate. It also says that kindness is a compassionate act, once that shows consideration and caring..

Healthy Habits to Happiness

2011-11-24T15:06:00.001+08:00

Let me share to you an article that tackles on how we heighten our happiness and 27 healthy habits to happiness.

HEALTHY HABITS TO HAPPINESS

Look for happiness in the right places. – When we’re young we look for happiness in drugs, sex, alcohol, parties, fast cars, extreme sports, etc. Then when we get a little older, we look for happiness in more ‘mature’ ways – a stable partner, romantic getaways, walks along the beach, jazz music, a night at the bar with some friends. Do they work? Do these things make us happy? Sure they do. They raise our happiness temporarily. But people have a baseline of inner happiness. Certain events and possessions, like an unexpected windfall, might raise or lower our happiness momentarily, but soon we return to our inner baseline. The key is to gradually raise this baseline. Enjoy the moment, but don’t completely ignore long-term goals. What will you be proud to have accomplished, or disappointed that you didn’t do, five years from now? Read The Happiness Project.
Acknowledge the lesson in every situation. – Everything is a life lesson. Everyone you meet, everything you encounter, etc. They’re all part of the learning experience we call ‘life.’ Never forget to acknowledge the lesson, especially when things don’t go your way. If you don’t get a job that you wanted or a relationship doesn’t work, it only means something better is out there waiting. And the lesson you just learned is the first step towards it.
Be authentic. Be true to yourself. – Judy Garland once said, “Always be a first rate version of yourself instead of a second rate version of somebody else.” Live by this statement. There is no such thing as living in someone else’s shoes. The only shoes you can occupy are your own. If you aren’t being yourself, you aren’t truly living – you’re merely existing.
Move your thoughts beyond obstacles. – Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “To different minds, the same world is a hell and a heaven.” Put in an effort to both seek out happiness-boosting experiences and learn to appreciate what you find. There will always be negative obstacles. This will never change. If you focus on them, your world will become Emerson’s hell. The real trick is to learn how to keep moving amidst these obstacles – acknowledging that they’re simply a part of life – and continually seek out or construct experiences that make you happy.
Focus on what’s right. – How you view yourself and your world are conscious choices. The lens you choose to view everything through determines how you feel about yourself and the world around you. Everything that happens in life is neither good nor bad. It just depends on your perspective. And no matter how it turns out, it always ends up just the way it should. Either you succeed or you learn something. So stay positive, appreciate the pleasant outcomes, and learn from the rest.
Be a part of something you believe in. – This could be anything. Some people take an active role in their local city council, some find refuge in religious faith, some join social clubs supporting causes they believe in, and others find passion in their careers. In each case the psychological outcome is the same. They engage themselves in something they strongly believe in. This engagement brings happiness and meaning into their lives.
Use personal strengths to get things done. – Everyone possesses unique personal strengths. We all have different talents and skill sets. Emotional happiness comes naturally to those who use their strengths to get things done. The state of completion always creates a sense of achievement. If this achievement is based exclusively on your personal ability to get the job done, the psychological rewards are priceless.
Focus on quality over quantity. – An excess of things may seem wonderful when you imagine them, but when you actually get them they lose the magic you imagined. Quality and moderation often bring more joy than an excess. The first five pieces of candy always taste better than the rest. And if you eat the whole bag of candy you wind up feeling a bit nauseous. One awesome gadget or tool is often better than five mediocre ones. One great looking shirt often brings more joy than ten from the clearance rack.
Avoid negativity and negative people. – Don’t belittle yourself and don’t put up with people who try to belittle you.
Appreciate the things you already have. – The road to happiness isn’t difficult. Happiness is not dependent on amassing a certain amount of wealth or notoriety. If you’re always striving for something bigger and better, without stopping to appreciate what you currently have, happiness will remain slightly out of reach. Your current situation may be far from perfect, but if you can detach from your own negative views and appreciate the simple aspects of each moment, happiness becomes easier to cultivate.
Instead of searching for passion, live passionately now. – Sometimes we get so wrapped up in ‘finding ourselves’ or ‘finding our passion’ that we forget how this discovery is actually made: By living passionately now. In other words, if you want to find out where your true passions lies, stop looking and simply start living each day with passion and zeal. If you do, self-discovery will come naturally.
Savor the joy of simple pleasures. – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the best things in life are free. They come in the form of simple pleasures and they appear right in front of you at various locations and arbitrary times. They are governed by Mother Nature and situational circumstance and captured by mindful awareness. It’s all about taking a moment to notice the orange and pink sunset reflecting off the pond water as you hold hands with someone you love. Noticing these moments and taking part in them regularly will bring unpredictable bursts of happiness into your life.
Exploit the resources you DO have access to. – The average person is usually astonished when they see a physically handicap person show intense signs of emotional happiness. How could someone in such a restricted physical state be so happy? The answer rests in how they use the resources they do have. Stevie Wonder couldn’t see, so he exploited his sense of hearing into a passion for music, and he now has 25 Grammy Awards to prove it. Get it?
Help others when you’re able. – In life, you get what you put in. When you make a positive impact in someone else’s life, you also make a positive impact in your own life. Do something that’s greater than you – something that helps someone else to be happy or to suffer less.
Live debt-free. – Financial debt causes stress and heart ache. Live a comfortable life, not a wasteful one. Do not spend to impress others. Do not live life trying to fool yourself into thinking wealth is measured in material objects. Manage your money wisely so your money does not manage you. Always live well below your means. Read The Millionaire Next Door.
Share time with people you love and experience life together.– The quality of our personal relationships correlates directly with our overall sense of worth and happiness. Sometimes in the midst of life’s chaos we forget to do the little things that remind us we’re part of something greater than ourselves. We need a certain amount of meaningful contact with other people to feel fully alive. There are few things more satisfying than recounting the greatest moments of your life with your family and closest friends who lived these moments alongside you. And remember, you don’t need a certain number of friends, just a number of friends you can be certain of.
Be faithful to your significant other. – Sustained fidelity in a long-term intimate relationship creates a healthy foundation for everything else you do.
Resolve conflicts with others. – Always forgive people and move on, even if they never ask for your forgiveness. Don’t do it for them – do it for yourself. Get that unnecessary stress out of your life.
Perform random acts of kindness on a regular basis. – Pay for a stranger’s coffee in line at Starbucks. Buy the office receptionist flowers just to say, “Thank you.” Help an elderly lady with her groceries. There’s nothing more rewarding than putting smiles on the faces around you. Check out Makes Me Think.
Smile more often. – A genuine smile makes you and everyone around you feel better. The simple act of smiling sends a message to your brain that you’re happy. And when you’re happy, your body pumps out all kinds of feel-good endorphins. This reaction has been studied since the 1980’s and has been proven a number of times. Bottom line: Smiling actually makes you happier.
Be self-sufficient. – Freedom is the greatest gift. Self-sufficiency is the greatest freedom. It’s nice to have close friends and family you can count on, but it lifts a huge weight off your shoulders when you know that you could survive on your own if you had to.
Invest time, energy and money in yourself every day. – Happiness comes as a side-effect of learning new skills and challenging yourself. Read, listen, adapt and stretch to accommodate new ideas and new information. When you invest in yourself, you can never lose, and over time you will change the trajectory of your life. You are simply the product of what you know. The more time, energy and money you spend acquiring pertinent knowledge, the more control you have over your life.
Use your body as it was designed to be used. – Walk, jog, run, stretch, throw things, and lift things. Jump around! Dance! Exercise in the gym is good, but so is making love, exchanging back rubs, or cutting firewood. Your body is an incredible machine and it can be either a source of joy, or a source of aches and pains. It just depends on what you do and how you treat it.
Compete only with yourself to be the best you can be. – When you catch yourself comparing yourself to a colleague, neighbor, friend, or someone famous, stop! Realize that you are different, with different strengths – strengths these other people don’t possess. Take a moment to reflect on all the awesome abilities you have and to be grateful for all the good things in your life.
Accept things when they are less than perfect. – If you find yourself at a point of intense decision making where you’re caught in a spiral of over-analysis and you’re making no progress, take a deep breath, break the spiral, make an educated guess on the next logical step, and take it. Even if you get it wrong you’ve learned something, which is better than doing nothing. Your failures along the road to your goals are simply opportunities to learn and grow. Remember, the real world doesn’t reward perfectionists; it rewards people who get things done.
Make time for fun. – Fun is way underrated. With all of our responsibilities, fun seems like an indulgence. It shouldn’t be. It should be a requirement. Ponder what you did to have fun when you were younger and go do it again. Leave the yard un-mowed for a weekend and get out on the town. When you’re older, you will remember the fun, not the freshly mowed yard.
Take full responsibility for your life. – Either you take responsibility for your life or someone else will. And when they do, you’ll become a slave to their ideas and dreams instead of a pioneer of your own. You are the only one who can directly control the outcome of your life. And no, it won’t always be easy. Every person has a stack of obstacles in front of them. You must take accountability for your situation and overcome these obstacles. Choosing not to is choosing a lifetime of mere existence.

Enjoy life every minute of it we never know what the future holds, whether we, or our love ones still have a good health or even be alive.

The Key to Success

2011-11-21T10:17:00.001+08:00

There's nothing wrong in dreaming big as long as your doing the right way to make it on top. In life there is no one else to blame if you failed but yourself. Maybe you missed on the right thing to be done for you to get the right results. The good thing with failing is that a lesson is learned. Never give up! Simply learn from your mistake, GET UP and brush of the dust.

Recently i've been joining several seminars/webinars to learn strategic ways to make my business succeed. By doing it right and in God's help I'm sure everything will fall into right places. We must put in our mind that we are the creator of our own destiny don't be afraid to try new things, we must learn and have an open mind to new ideas as the saying goes "‎You cannot push anyone up the ladder unless he is willing to climb himself." I'm not afraid of failure because I know I can stand up and learn from it.. Let's not forget that only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

Coffee Break

2011-04-19T10:15:00.000+08:00

If you are planning to invest or franchise, the best opportunities in this industry are businesses that adapt to the idea that coffee outlets are not just places where people can get their drink and leave. Many men dream of one day, bringing up a daughter, and teaching her everything about the world as she possible can. Raising a daughter is easy for most men until they reach the age of a teenager. This is where the child will feel that mommy and daddy are wrong and she know everything. However, you are the father and your daughter needs to know, that whatever you say goes. Being a parent is not easy. Teach your daughter to love, simply by showing unconditonal love towards your partner. This way your daughter will grow up to honor the man in her life. The father has to be respected, and trustworthy by other that she meets. Therefore, you need to show your daughter that she can count on you, when it really matters. In addition, teach your daughter that she can come to you on her mother about anything that is bothering her at the time. Under no circumstances, let your daughter try to figure out things on her own. For this can turn into disaster. Your daughter should learn from you and no one else. She should also, be taught that, she is to respect everyone. If you and your partner believe in GOD, teach your daughter about God. When your outboard motor is not in the water, it's very important to have an outboard motor stands where you can store it. Not only will you get to proect your outboard motor from falling or losing balance, but you can also use the stand to transport your motor. This is because most stands come with wheels so you can conveniently move your outboard motor from one place to another. There are also many other advantages of having your own outboard motor stands. Safe and Dry Aside from storing and transporting your outboard motor, a good-quality stand will also keep your motor in an upright positiion to make sure that no water trickles towards the engine. You can also use this stand every time you need to work on the motor-whether it's repair a loose part or to put on a new coat of paint. Burglars Keep Out Outboard motor stands can also keep your motor safe and secure from potential burglars and thieves. In fact, you can protect your motor with a stand in a couple of ways: by putting your motor on it and by not putting your motor on it. If you leave the stand in the middle of your boat shed, a scheming burglar will automatically suspect that your outboard motor is at your house or someplace else. Shop Mart When shopping for a stand, make sure to take into consideration the weight and horsepower of your boat so you can determine whether you need a standard one or a large one. Standard stands can support 135 horsepower and 485 pounds of weight, while a large one is able to sustain 900 pound large boats with 300 horsepower. Stainless steel pneumatic tires are also important factor to look for when choosing a stand. These tires offer smoother and easier movement when you push the stand.

Care your Motor Vehicle

Your motor vehicle can be one of the most expensive and treasured possessions you own. Anyone who has been without a car, or has been without their own car for a period of time, will attest to the difficulty it can bring. Once you have your very own car, it is imperative that you take the necessary steps to ensure that it is looked after properly. If you look after your vehicle you will be less inclined to have to spend large quantities of money on it, and your insurance premiums will be lower too.

It is important that you check the security system of your vehicle to ensure that it is in good running order. It may be something that you think is always working, but you could be wrong. One glitch or slip up in your security system could mean a stolen car, or the contents of your car could be stolen, such as your radio and other valuables. You can test your alarm system easily by attempting to open your vehicle without deactivating the alarm first.

Create More Happy Moments in Your Life

2011-03-24T08:35:00.000+08:00

When we are chasing after success, we are all really wanting to make our lives happier in the process. The more happy moments we have, the more successful we will feel. So how do we create more of these special times in our lives?

First intend on having more. Make it a conscious decision to just be happier each and every day. Doing this will kind of force your mind into recognizing what makes you happy and it will begin to look for these moments.

Second of all, let go of the stresses you feel day after day. Mos of the time we either stress over little things or we stress over things we cannot change. But we can always choose to just let it go. Laugh at the things that would normally make you feel tense in life. The more you do this, the more you will find that you are feeling a little bit happier and a little bit better.

Learn to forget about the things that you do not want to constantly think about. You can choose what you want to forget just as much as you can choose what you want to remember. So forget about that flat tire you got a month ago or that stupid thing that slipped out of your mouth when you were talking to someone. Again, in the grand scheme of life, these are all just little things.

Sa kahangturan dalaygun ka

Kay ang gugma mo walay katapusan

Ug ang kaluoy mo way utlanan

Awiton ko ang mga pagdayeg mo

Sa tanang panahon ikaw simbahon ko

Bisan sa unos ug mga katalagman

Daygon ka Oh! Diyos kanako muuban

Matinumanon ka

Hell en' Heaven

2010-09-30T08:13:00.000+08:00

I’m gonna share this interesting story knowing about heaven and hell:

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, ‘Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like. The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, ‘You have seen Hell.

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man’s mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and ; plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, ‘I don’t understand.’

It is simple,’ said the Lord. ‘It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves. When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you. Its estimated 93% won’t forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title 7%- I’m in the 7% !

Remember that I will always share my spoon with you…
