Things are fluid and I have had to re-record this episode three times now as everything changes faster than I can record. Cheating, using bots to create a huge subscriber base as well as the hate and bashing that goes on. Doing video or podcasting is a passion for many. It takes something special to rise above everyone else. There's a lot of content out there and it's not slowing down. If anything New Media is rapidly evolving.

In Part II we continue our discussion as we explore what it takes to push yourself beyond the envelope.

Featured Artists:

DJ e

Chria Vaughn

James C Allen

Paul Jannicola

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network

Episode Links:

Trucker Steve

Eskimo Sean

Trailer Park Boys

TL38 - Podcasting Preachers & YouTube Whores - Part I

Enter the world of Web 2.0 - where social media networking drives NEW MEDIA to the edge. Gone are the days of Google Ads & search engine optimization.. Today it's all about Tags & Gags.. The more people that follow your content online determines who you are. There are so many people out there with something to bring to the table, podcasters with a passionate message, YouTubers with flair and style not unlike the shows found on prime time TV. Yet many of these visionaries get slapped with labels such as Whore, Preacher, Sell Out... Why? What are they doing to earn this disrespect? More importantly, why do people automatically take that stand against others that are trying to promote their passions and follow their dreams?

Join me as I discuss this cultural enigma with a few of today's hottest new media artists as they share their views on self promotion and what it takes to climb to the top in this environment.

Featured Artist: Sundial Project

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network

Episode Links:

Trucker Steve

Eskimo Sean

Trailer Park Boys

GJ #09: Every Dog Has It's Day

Original Air Date: March 5, 2006

Find out why the DOT pulled me in at the Cottonwood scales on I-5 in California! Pet Abuse more specifically, where I rant a bit on those who take on the responsibility of pet ownership without giving any forethought to the time, expense and care that goes into providing a healthy and prosperous environment for these creatures. In addition I talk about the wack jobs that steal pets for the purpose of selling them to research labs where they have little chance of ever seeing the light of day again...

Featured Artists:

Dream Real

Peter Kemble

100 Year Picnic

Smeer

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network

GJ #08: No Strings Attached... A complaint was filed but nobody ever followed up with me from the TA Corporate Offices...

GJ #04: Boomtown

Original Air Date: January 21, 2006

Recorded at a Pilot Truck Stop in Jacksboro, TN I talk about winning money at Boomtown Casino in Verdi, NV while held over during a storm. Although I only did 12 episodes, this is where my podcasting journey all began. I miss trucking and will play some clips from past Gear Jammer Episodes. In addition, I am going to include a previously unreleased interview I did during the GrindKing days. I had an opportunity to interview a woman who I dubbed CrackHead Kim.

Kim was a prostitute and Crack addict struggling to recover.. This interview takes place at a Motel 6 in Sacramento, CA just after my accident that resulted in my quitting my job and direclty prior to my arrival at The Vortex....

Fragments: Episode One [Gypsy] Repost

The year was 1988. I was 25 years old and homeless by choice. Living in a tent near some percolation ponds, my only companion was a dog named Gypsy that I had adopted from the pound. Each day was a struggle to get through. Overall I was unhappy with myself and the world I had been cast into. Gypsy made things seem better and things went as well as they could until one day she was abducted...

In each episode of Fragments I will reveal a bit more of my personal history as I take you for a short trip into my past. Each of these stories is a dramatization of the actual events that took place, produced in audio book fashion as I tell the tale.

TL36 - The Vortex, The Evil Sorcerer & The River of Blood

The ground has become unstable.. the Vortex is in a state of flux.. the arrival of a drifter has set into motion a chain of events that threaten to unravel the fabric of things here.. and yet his true agenda remains a mystery. While this game plays out I am subjected to psychic assault not once, but twice. This drifter wields power over my landlady and displays an adept ability to alter my conscious mind. Illusion or magic? Is he a pawn or a minion? His appearance and the subsequent effect of his arrival are not coincidence. Yet there are more questions than answers at this time.

During all of this another Doberman will be put down. AJ is one of our own. I helped deliver him into this world and stood by him for the first 6 months of his life. Now due to circumstances that have taken place, he has been deemed unsalvageable and sentenced to death. The blood flows from this vortex once again like an open wound..

Featured Artists:

Allied Radio

Urban Van Blue

Velvet8ball

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network & GarageBand.com

TL35 - Trailer Life Theatre

It's been two years since my arrival here at what Annie has dubbed "The Vortex" and I seem to be moving in place. Going nowhere fast. My original intent was maybe based on my dismal outlook on things, I had decided to stay for an undetermined period and pour my money and time into fixing up this rotting husk of a trailer. In the last six weeks I have given serious thought to my situation. Friends have made an effort to get through to me, trying to raise my spirits and at the same time enlighten me as to the reality of where I stand. My friends say the things that are expected of them, like a routine that has been rehearsed many times over. I respond in like, always giving assurances that I appreciate what they are saying and that I will think about things. Then, as per the unwritten script, nothing changes.

Enter Annie - she also knows her lines and is a supporting role in my theatre of life. But Annie doesn't follow the script.. She pushes me and when I respond with my worn out lines that have always worked in the past, she does not smile and leave me be like the others...

Featured Artist: FOE

Courtesy of GarageBand.com

Special thanks to Curtis Cross & Annie Jones for lending their voices to this show!

TL34 - Less Talk, More Rock III

Ozzy, Metallica, Godsmack.. and more! Time once again for some music appreciation..

I have been asked to do more shows of this type and although that is not what the Trailer Life Podcast is all about, I think it's good to break it up once in awhile. All of this came to a head during the production of this episode. I am struggling with my options and do an update on my progress as I seek a new employer. My friend Annie will join me today as we discuss these latest events & more..

This is Annie's first time podcasting. Instantly loveable, she has a mind of her own and tells it like it is. Welcome her as she challenges my way of thinking with her down to earth, no BS attitude, at the same time brining a fresh new spirit to the table.

Featured Artists:

Fu Manchu

Collective Soul

Bullet For My Valentine

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network

TL32 - The Fallen

Fate is the architect.. Karma is the balance.. Temptation is the open wound that never quite heals.. Corruption is the sickening malignancy that festers in the twilight, elusive and always just beyond our reach.. We make choices and we live by the consequences of our actions. Yet the grey area between black & white is sometimes our entire playing field. In these instances we can only rely on faith to bring us home. Some of us will make it, others will fall..

I have come to another crossroads in my life, I have become one of The Fallen..

Topics Covered: Friendship, Defining Perspectives For Other People To Live By, Choices, Actions & Consequences, Getting Terminated

Very special thanks to Annie for lending her voice to this cast..!

Featured Artist: Allied Radio

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network

Stream This Show - Click Here!

TL31 - Nazi Time Travelers

It's been hot and windy here. That's what happens here. And when it happens, the choice is determined by popularity. Zeus came here about 8 months ago. He was loud and had a mind of his own. This was a problem for the rescue owner due to her need for absolute control and dominance over these dogs. She never liked him. When he supposedly turned on her, which nobody witnessed, that was the beginning of the end of his life...

I've kept him alive for the past 4 months by arguing in his defense..sadly I lost the battle today but NOT the war..

Episode Links:

Zeus Video

Doberman Pinscher

Featured Artist:

FANOE

Velvet8ball

Courtesy of The Podsafe Music Network & GarageBand.com

Stream This Show - Click Here!
