Words are very powerful–that’s why the scriptures admonish us to be careful of the things we say.

Words are like seeds.

They have constructive and destructive abilities. Your life is the way it is today because of the words you spoke yesterday.

Be careful of the words you speak because of tomorrow. The words you speak everyday will go ahead of you to change tomorrow.

Don’t allow anger destroy your future.

Don’t give room for your flesh to make you say what you don’t want to.

Don’t make something someone did to you cause you to voice out negative words.

You are a king…

…and the words that come out of the mouth of a king are full of power.

You are someone known with the ability to give orders and issue commands. But you see, so many people are living below their calling in life.  They live below their potentials.

They are not conscious of their identity; therefore, cannot do big things. In fact, most people are not conscious of what they carry and how important they are to the system of this world.

The words you speak cannot be effective unless you recognize who you are

Each one of us counts. In fact, we are very important to the growth of planet earth.

Now that you know you are a king, be mindful of the words you speak.

Think before you speak.

Don’t just talk because your mouth feels like saying something. No. Don’t do that.

You know, I’ve been to so many places and I’ve met different types of people. I know of some folks who just talk anyhow. The sad part of it is that, anything they say is all negative statements.

Pro tip: Change if you behave like this.

There is still room for change now that you’re reading this article.

Kings don’t talk carelessly.

They speak in accordance to the dictates of the law; therefore as a king and a person of authority, you should only speaks words that are encouraging and edifying to the spirit.

You can defeat kingdoms with your spoken word.

You can change anything with your words because deity backs you up. You are not an ordinary being.

You’re more than a conqueror; God’s chosen one, and a success. All you just need to effect a change is to say what you want to see.

Anytime you find yourself in a challenge, lock yourself up in your room and begin to declare words. Declare things you want to see. Ignore distractions. Kneel down and effect a change in your situation.

Many people don’t know that they have the ability to effect changes; and that’s why most of them languish in pain and poverty.

Declare words of power today. Be confident that your words will be established unto you, because you’re a prince and a special breed.

Get to know who you are and what you carry. You carry deity. (Yes, you do)!

Below are some positive confessions you can declare every morning before you head to work.

Say these words to yourself every morning (before you go to work or anywhere else).

Declare these words until they become a part of you.

Speak these words irrespective of the circumstances you find yourself.

My opinion

If I were you, I will print these words (with a printer) and paste it on the wall of my room.

Change your world.

Effect a change in your sphere of contact.

Remember, you are a king!

On August 22, 2007, I was preparing to interview a true legend of entrepreneurship.

One day, a friend invited him to visit one of his advertising agency clients and try to figure out why they are having difficulties converting their leads. He never expected to be asked to do so, simply because, at that moment, he didn’t know anything about business and he didn’t understand anything about hi-tech companies which was what his friend’s client owned.

When he met the client and started to ask some questions, he realized that he knew something that wasn’t applied in that company. He believed that “sales is a system”. He learned that in a job he took as a young man where he was selling encyclopedias. He just used a system that his sales manager insisted that he learns and applies. In the process he learned first hand the power of a system that enabled him as a complete novice to be able to become one of the most successful salesmen in that company’s history.  The CEO of his friend’s client company didn’t expect that this small lesson would make all the difference in his company. That led our hero to many other clients and then to founding his own company at the age of 41 years old.

Today, INC. Magazine called him “the World’s  #1 Small Business Guru”. Over the years, Michael E. Clarity

Money

The second challenge that Michael faced was the money. Usually, it has to be acquired from the outside. For example, you get it from venture capitalists, banks, family, etc. However, Michael bootstrapped it! He learned first hand how to generate money from inside his company every single step of the way.

Today, Michael teaches small business owners that they don’t need capital to create an extraordinary company. Instead, you need imagination, desire, determination, and the most important of all which is the ability to PRACTICE. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.”

Relationships

The third challenge that Michael faced was how to formulate relationships that matter, that last, and that contribute to his dream while he contributes to theirs.

It was difficult at the beginning, but he managed to expand his brand reach to almost everywhere in the world. His books were translated into 29 languages. He leveraged the technology to reach clients virtually and actually and to deliver transformational results to his clients all over the world.

Meaning

One of the most important lessons that Michael learned is to create a business that has meaning. If the business doesn’t have a life transforming impact on the people who buy from it, work for it, and invest in it, then it is a business that has no value.

When your work has a significant meaning and value, it will help you go through all the challenges that you might face along the way. When people tell you that it won’t work, the meaning and your belief in it will keep you going.  So, do only the things that mean something and add value in the world.

Persistence

Once you create an idea and determine the meaning and value behind it, you must persist despite of any difficulty you may face and never ever quit. As you persist on it, as you allow it to live and shine inside you, as you clearly articulate it to inspire others, it will turn into a movement that will become a part of you and of the many people it will touch.

Spirit

For Michael, it was never and it will never be about the money. When you pursue an idea, it should never be a financial decision. It must always be a spritual decision. Yes, you’ll make millions as you impact and transform the lives of millions. However, this should never be the primary driver to your decisions. You should do it only because it elicits your spirit.

You must discover the spirit of the work you do. If you’ve no spirit, then you’re wasting your time and life.

At the age of 7, he decided to play at the baseball major leagues in the United States. He worked very hard and became so good at it that he got a scholarship to play for Stanford University.

At the age of 24, he injured his arm and his professional baseball career ended very abruptly. He thought that this has derailed his path for success. At that moment, he was totally lost and didn’t know what to do with the rest of his life!

3 Years later, he got a job in sales for two Internet start-ups. When the dot-com “bubble” burst in 2000, he was laid off.

I was honored to interview Mike back in 2007 about his secrets of success and transformation, and in this article I would like to share with you some powerful lessons from his success story.

1. “Appreciate yourself and life”

There are three levels of appreciation:

1. General gratitude for life
2. Appreciate people in our lives
3. Appreciate yourself

Focus on what is good about life, people and you. That’s how you attract more good stuff. Appreciation is like magic. It radiates positive energy anywhere it is practiced.

Take the time to be grateful for the little things in life.

It is very important that you fully enjoy and appreciate your life as you go through it. Don’t wait until you reach a certain outcome before you can be grateful. Or don’t wait for something to go wrong only then to appreciate how great it was before that thing happened.

2. “Adversity Makes You Stronger”

Mike’s parents were divorced when he was at the age of 2, and his mother raised him and his sister all by herself. She never remarried and they had many financial challenges. His father was almost out of the picture. This experience taught Mike the importance of family, and how adversity can make you stronger.

3. “Adversity is an opportunity to reinvent yourself and your life.”

The injury that ended Mike’s athletic dreams was one of the biggest challenges. It left him lost and uncertain about what he should do next. However, Mike believes that this was probably one of the best things that ever happened to him, because getting hurt is really what started him on the path of self discovery.  So, as difficult as that was, he felt incredibly grateful for it.

4. “There is nothing wrong with fear. The problem is when fear stops us.”

Fear, insecurity and anxiety were common challenges that Mike always faced. But over the years, Mike developed the perspective that: There is nothing wrong with fear. The problems is when fear stops us. It is very important that you don’t allow fear to stop you from performing and achieving at a very high level.

5. “Be real”

Be real and true to yourself. It is good that you focus on the positive, but it doesn’t mean that you should totally avoid the negative. When you’re real about the negative, you can overcome your challenges in the most effective way.

6. “The more you play, the more you get better”

Get in the game and PLAY. That’s a very important key to success. If you’re not willing to get in, play and take risks, you won’t have any opportunity for growth. Life really happens in the game, on the field, not by thinking or wondering about it. The more you play, the more you get better.

7. “Focus on what you want”

Successful people focus on what they want. Average people focus on what they don’t want. That’s why you must have a crystal clear understanding of what you truly want. Don’t focus on the fear and the worst things that might happen. Instead, keep your eyes on your desired outcome.

Finally, always remember Oscar Wilde’s advice, “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.” 

You reach ultimate success by appreciating your life and who you truly are.

It all started at her 17th birthday.

Here Are Three Challenges That Can Limit Your Potential And Dissolve Your Personal Power

1. Broken Self-Esteem

Sandy spent so many years believing that she is unimportant and invisible. This broken self-esteem turned her into a real introvert.

The turning point was at her high school graduation ceremony. Part of the event was doing a fashion show in the school for all the families of the graduates, that was about 200 people. She froze up and said, “I can’t do it. I can’t go out there in front of all these people.” But somebody stood up and said, “Yes, you can.”

So, she jumped out and realized that she could do it. Once she put on her red dress and got out there, all was OK.

The secret to restoring your broken self-esteem is to go out there, let yourself shine and just do what you’re scared to do. Because once you’ve done it, all the fear has gone.

2. Market Resistance To What You Have To Offer

One of Sandy’s greatest challenges was moving to Europe.

Since her husband was Belgian, they had to relocate from the United States to Belgium. The first part of the challenge was having to start her business all over from scratch. And the second and biggest part of the challenge was that the Belgians resistance to her profession and the service she offered was super big.

Belgium was invaded most of its history, and therefore its people realized that in order to survive, they needed to remain invisible. Given her past, Sandy could relate a lot with them. So, she accepted the challenge of convincing the Belgians to look powerful, feel better and become visible.

Despite of the big market resistance, Sandy believes that it was in Belgium where she truly mastered the art of image consulting. Yes, it took her years to become well established and successful, but she couldn’t have gained that level of knowledge and experience without making this unexpected relocation.

Sometimes we perceive an unexpected circumstance as a curse, while it could be a blessing. It all depends on how you react to the situation.

3. Starting From Scratch

In order to build her business from scratch and overcome the Belgian market resistance, Sandy solely depended on her networking skills.

She joined several clubs and met a lot of expats. She learned to speak some of the two languages of Belgium: Dutch and French.

She believes that by making yourself a walking billboard (i.e. highly visible like a billboard), and that if you look powerful, dynamic and credible, you don’t have to cold call, sell aggressively or pester people to get their business cards.

All what you need to focus on is to establish yourself as credible and dynamic, and build solid relationships slowly and genuinely. Only then can you approach people, one at a time, and tell them about your services.

1. Do What You Love

Always do what you love. When Sandy put on her red dress and saw how looking better transformed her attitude and restored her self-esteem, she became so passionate about helping people look and feel better too.

And when she abruptly moved from her home country to a country where she didn’t speak the languages, she thought that she would give up. But she didn’t. She believed that Belgium and Belgians needed her as much as any body else.

So, believe in your dream, do what you love, keep following your passion and never give up no matter what challenges you face along the way.

2. Build Strong Quality Relationships

Being an introvert doesn’t mean that you should always be behind the scenes. You can be on the spotlight and become highly visible. Just go out there, meet and connect with people without being tense or nervous.

One of the best practical ways to practice your networking skills, and increase your self confidence is to join Toastmasters, the world’s largest non-profit organization for public speaking and leadership development. It has chapters all over the world. Locate a chapter in your country and go join them. It’s a transformational experience that I’ve been through personally and highly recommend.

Joining clubs and associations like Toastmasters can help you build wonderful connections with amazing people, even if you’re an introvert.

3. Learn To Deal With Different Cultures

Realize that other people may think and do things differently.

So, if you have an international business, you must take courses about other cultures. Surprisingly, when you learn more about other cultures, you find out more about yourself and you actually become a stronger and better person.

To sum up, power dressing could be a life changing experience. When you dress to impress, people will treat you differently and like you more. That outside change can trigger and facilitate a deeper and stronger inside change. And that inside change is all what you need to make your life a masterpiece of success and contribution.

And remember, do whatever your passion is. Do something where you can use your natural talents and gifts. Only then, you won’t feel like you’re working. Instead, you’ll feel like you’re just sharing your talents, spreading your passion all over the world and being a great source of inspiration to others.

Follow your passion and you will live a VISIBLE LIFE that you can be proud of.

I’m sorry. Please accept my apology.

I ran a contest on Monday and I thought it would be exciting and a lot of fun.

But, I was puzzled when no one participated!

I thought that either the contest steps were difficult or you didn’t find it interesting enough to be worth the effort.

In both cases, I must apologize. 

Initially, that was a big moment of failure for me. I didn’t know what was wrong and I was very anxious, because I didn’t know what I should tell you today when I am supposed to announce the winner’s name!

Very embarrassing!

Sometimes, we set goals and we fail in our initial attempts. The best thing you can do when you fail is to reach out to trusted advisors to give you a hand and lift you up. When you fail or feel confused, you should reach out to your support network for support.

And that’s what I did.

I feel so blessed to know such a great man.

So, I sent him an email asking for advice.

And he was absolutely right!
