Green Anemone, Vancouver Island

Diving Browning Passage at the northern end of Vancouver Island, Bristish Columbia, is one of the most spectacular experiences in the Pacific Northwest. The sheer diversity and abundance of life is astonishing. At the end of one dive, ascending into rough and choppy surface conditions, I took this lucky shot of a freen anemone as a wave washed over it.

Thousands of white-eared kob race in the shadow of a Wildlife Conservation Society survey plane in a park east of Bor. The seasonal migration of animals in southern Sudan is a spectacle to rival the flow of animals across Tanzania's Serengeti Plain.

Buffalo, Indonesia

This buffalo was cooling down in a puddle of muddy water. This image I captured was on one of the Komodo Islands in Indonesia. Only three islands in Komodo have the Komodo dragons, I gave this image the title "Buffalo's Last Moments" because this buffalo is unfortunately on the menu od the vicious Komodo dragon. I was using the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens. For this image I captured it at f/4 and focused on the eyes.

Elephant Festival, India

The Elephant Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Jaipur and takes place at the famous Chaugan Stadium in March. It begins with a beautiful procession of bedecked elephants, camels, horses, and folk dancers. The mahouts proudly embellish their elephants with vibrant colors, jhools (saddle cloth), and heavy jewelry.

Underneath the ice, spikes meet spikes as an Alaska king Crab the size of a nickel crawls over a knobby sea star. After a dozen years, the crustacean will grow to the size of a tractor tire.
