Beef Steak Ala Ryan Recipe

Hey guys,im back.I missed writing and sharing some information about Travel and Food. This time,ill be featuring a recipe that i cooked in our morning tv show ,Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao ,airs daily,6:15 a.m. @ abs-cbn.

Beef recipe is one of the best dishes in the Philippines.Filipino love to cook beef dishes such as Kare-kare,Nilangang Baka,Beef Caldereta,etc. Since Christmas is just around the corner,I prepared an easy beef recipe called Beef Steak Ala Ryan.Cooking this dish is a little bit different than the usual way of cooking beef steaks.

I like the bold flavor of beef on this recipe.Mrs Liwanag Ferrer of Ryan's Lechon House located in Saging Street, General Santos City was my guest in presenting this recipe.

Here are the ingredients:

500 gms Beef Tenderloin (cut into 1x1 inch)
10 pcs kalamsi
5 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce
3 cloves garlic
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Beef Powder
1/2 tsp Meat Tenderizer
1 tbsp Black Pepper
2 cups of water
1 cup Butter
1 pc white onion
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water

Procedure

1.Season the Beef Tenderloin with Kalamansi juice and meat tenderizer
2.In a pan,put the marinated Beef Tenderloin.
3.Add Soysauce, Worcestershire sauce,garlic,sugar,black pepper.
4.Add 2 cups of water and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes
5.Pull out the stock of the beef mixture.
6. Add 1/2 bar of butter in the beef mixture.Wait until the beef is totally cook.
7.After cooking the beef,set it aside.
8.In preparing the sauce,put 3 tbsp of butter in a pan.
9.Sautee the onions until it becomes translucent.
10.Add Beef Stock and simmer for 3 minutes.Thicken the sauce by adding cornstarch diluted in water.

During my visit in Hongkong, I am so blessed to stay in one of the HK's leading universities,
Hongkong Baptist University. This institution is a publicly funded tertiary institution with a Christian Education heritage. My brother Ardniel was a visiting student professor in HK University last January 2011 to May 2011.I took the chance to visit him for just 1 week.

Founded in 1956 by the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong, HKBU is the second-oldest institution of higher learning in Hong Kong. It was established as Hong Kong Baptist College with the support of American Baptists, who provided both operating and construction funds and personnel to the school in its early years.

It became Hong Kong Baptist University in 1994 during the presidency of Dr. Daniel C.W. TSE, LLD, GBS, CBE, JP, who succeeded the Founding President, Dr. Lam Chi-fung, as the second president of the University in 1971.( Source,wikipedia)

Upon the retirement of Dr. Tse in 2001 after 30 years of educational and social services to the University and Hong Kong, Prof. Ng Ching-fai, GBS was appointed as the third president of the University. In 2010, Prof. Albert Chan Sun-chi assumed office as the fourth president of HKBU. The chairman of the University Council and Court is Mr. WONG Ying-wai, Wilfred.

Do you know that there's an International House or hotel for interested exchange students and scholars from other countries?I stayed in HK Baptist University International House for 1 week.

I enjoyed the beautiful scene and view from our room on the 10th floor.This sight reminds me of the fusion of HK natural and man-made landscape.

After my first dinner in one of the cheap restaurants near Victoria Harbour,I took the chance to experience a walk in the famous landmark in HK, the Avenue of the Stars.

Malaysia is one of the top destinations of many tourists in Asia.Multiculturalism has not only made this country a gastronomical paradise,it has also made Malaysia home to hundreds of exciting and colourful festivals. Malaysia is as diverse and unique as its culture.This progressive country is divided into 13 states and 3 federal territories. Extreme contrast is one of Malaysia's key attractions.

Tourism has become Malaysia's 3rd largest source of income from foreign exchange and accounted for 7 % of its economy as of 2005.Last year,Malaysia ranks 9th among the top most visited countries in the world,after Germany.

Part of my Asian Cruise was a one day tour in Malaysia,particularly in Penang. Penang is a state of Malaysia,located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia by the Strait of Malacca. This state is the second smallest state after Perlis. Penang is one of the most developed and economically important states.

A resident of Penang is known as Penangite.This place has so many things to offer.One of these is SHOPPING.

As the biggest shopping destination in Northern Malaysia,Penang has many huge shopping malls and department stores.Among the biggest are Queensbay Mall, Penang Plaza and Prangin Mall

As a traveler,my simple tip is always get a map or search important information tru internet before your trip.It helps you to get familiar in the place you're going to visit. Also, don't afraid to ask if you need some information. Here in Penang Malaysia,people are friendly and hospitable.

I saw this store in QueensBay Mall offering processed and dried fruits,vegetables and other items. Philippine Dried Mango is available here.But a little bit expensive.100 gm for 7.99 RM or 106 pesos.You can buy this in Philippines for only 40 to 50 pesos per 100 gms.Philippine Mango is one of the best

Penang Malaysia is a good place to visit! Modernization and urbanization in this place is fast!

Hongkong is known as one of the world's leading financial,banking and trading centers,located at the southeast coast of China. I am amazed by the unique contrasts and close proximity of stunning urban and cityscapes and high mountains.This beautiful place is made up of 4 parts such as Hongkong Island,Kowloon Peninsula,the New Territories and Outlaying Islands.

There are many tourists spots here in Hongkong like Victoria Peak,the amazing Repulse Bay and Ocean Park.I visited these places.Another spot that you must visit in Hongkong is HK Park. Hongkong Park is a public park next to Cotton Tree Drive in Central Hongkong.It was opened in May 1991.Built at a cost of HK $ 398 million. HK Park covers an area of 80,000 m2.

Hongkong Park is considered as perfect example of modern design & facilities blending with the natural landscape.The park is not only a good site for tourists,also it has a significant part in HK History. Part of the site was known as Cantonment Hill in early colonial days in 1841. At the upper part of the former location of the Victoria Barracks, built between 1867 and 1910, the barracks were handed to the government in 1979.

Visit this beautiful place and explore this wonderland for yourself! One of Asia's BEST!Best time to visit Hongkong is during winter time,from the month of November to March!

Victoria Park Hongkong

One of the many reasons why I love HONGKONG is the fusion of everything. East meet West and Perfect Blend of Nature and Infrastructure. During my visit in Honkong,I had a good time in one of the parks, Victoria Park in Causeway Bay,on the north of HK Island between Causeway Bay and Tin Hau MTR stations.

This park is a good place for some activities like jogging and walking. During my tour ,it was winter time so the weather was cold. Since im from Philippines at medyo mainit lagi sa bansa ko,I need a jacket.By the way, Victoria park was named after Queen Victoria of United Kingdom.

Do you know that HK is one of the top tourist destinations in Asia?In 2011, HK received a record-high of 42 millions visitors from around the world,a remarkable increase of 16.4 percent over 2010.It is also the first time that the number of arrivals surpassed the 40 million mark.

The park was formerly a typhoon shelter known as Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, part of Victoria Harbour, used as a refuge by fishing boats and yachts during typhoon seasons. In the 1950s, the shelter was reclaimed and the park was built there. The typhoon shelter was then relocated to the north.

According to Wikipedia, the park has long been a gathering place for domestic workers on Sundays, their usual day off. Since the early 2000s, helpers from Indonesia have come to predominate, in and around the western end of the Park, as their numbers in Hong Kong have increased relative to those from the Philippines. The parallel tradition for Filipina domestic workers is to congregate around Statue Square in Central.

Honestly, I can’t even imagine wanting to swim near the edge. The view is amazing,pero kakabahan ka at baka magkaroon ng lindol at tataob ang pool na ito.Kahadlok!Patay dyud ko ani.But guess what,once you start to swim in MBS Infinity Pool,all your doubts and fears vanish away!

It is the world’s longest elevated swimming pool with 150 meters,located on the 55th Floor of Marina Bays Sands Singapore Hotel.It was develope by Las Vegas Sand. The hotel was designed by Moshe Safdie.

Infinity pools are very expensive and require extensive structural, mechanical (hydraulic engineering) and architectural detailing.The structural engineering must be based upon the geological conditions found on the site. A geotechnical report is commissioned prior to the commencement of the structural engineering. The high costs of these pools is often found in the foundation systems that anchor them to the hillsides.

Best Sunset in the World is in my town Lebak, Philippines!

There's no place like home! All of us agree that our HOME is the Best!I've traveled miles away from my home and my country.I have some unforgettable memories in many places like Thailand,Singapore,Hongkong and Malaysia.Pero walang hihigit pa rin sa mga ala-ala na inukit ng aking bayang LEBAK!

I grew up and spent half of my life in Lebak Sultan Kudarat,Southern Philippines. Lebak is situated in Mindanao Island.
But where is Lebak?Lebak is a coastal town of the Province of Sultan Kudarat Philippines.My town is a first class municipality. It is bordered in the North by South Upi Maguindanao,in the south by Kalamansig,in the west by Celebes Sea and in the east by Ezperanza and Isulan Sultan Kudarat.

This municipality managed to boast its local economy to its full potential. The opening of new routes and improvement in transport system are expect to deliver the town into a economic promise.Last year the construction and improvement of Awang-Upi-Lebak-Kalamansig Road was completed.And soon, the Isulan - Bagumbayan, Senator Ninoy Aquino - Lebak Road,a nd the planned Lebak-Kalamansig-Bagumbayan-Maitum Road will be a big help for the progress of our town.

Pero bakit Lebak ang pangalan ng bayan ko? “Lebak” is a Maguindanaon word meaning hollow. This is because of the eastern part of Lebak is a mountain and on the western part is the Celebes Sea thus the hollow portion is between a mountain and the Sea.

Sunset at Tibpuan Beach,Lebak ,Philippines

(When i was in high school,i used to witness and enjoy seeing this amazing sunset in Lebak)

What makes a beautiful sunset? For many people, including the Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern, the beach is usually involved. According to www.phoenix.about.com,The best sunsets occur when there are at least a few high clouds. Higher clouds are hit by the sun's rays before they pass through the lower atmosphere, where the air has more particles. So the bright reds and oranges are filtered through at the high cloud's level.

Bangkok's Silom Village

Silom Village in Bangkok is a group of Thai Antique houses offering handicrafts and other products.It is a good place to shop and learn about the culture and heritage of Thailand.Night time is the best time to visit Silom Village since there is a classical dance show.

Aside from Thai Handicraft ,Silom Village, Bangkok is famous for its cafes, noodle shops and fancy restaurants. There are various Thai recipes you must try such as Tom Yum or Spicy Prawn Soup and Thai Chicken Curry .

There are a good number of markets and stores in Silom Village, Bangkok.Some of the popular markets and stores are; PATPONG NIGHT MARKET, SUAN LUM NIGHT BAZAAR, KLONG TOEY MARKET, JIM THOMPSON and ROBINSON SILOM,

But what are the Thai classical dance drama? These are KHON, LAKHON and FAWN THAI.

Khon Dance is the most stylised form of Thai dance. It is performed by troupes of non-speaking dancers, the story being told by a chorus at the side of the stage. Choreography follows traditional models rather than attempting to innovate.

Fawn is another form of "folk-dance" accompanied by folk music of the region

Lakhon features a wider range of stories than khon, including folk tales andJataka stories. Dancersare usually female and perform as a group rather than representing individual characters.

Rayong Thailand visit

Rayong is a province of Thailand. It is located at the Eastern board of Thailand.From Bangkok,you can reach this beautiful place by car or bus,approximately 220 kilometers. There are 10 islands group,therefore,this place is blessed with an abundance of seafood products such as dried seafood,shrimp paste,fish sauce.Tropical fruits such as rambutan,mangosteen and durian can be found in Rayong.

During my visit in this place, I stayed at Hinsuay Namsi Resort Hotel located on top of a hill.I like the sunrise view. Makikita mo ang paghalik ng tubig dagat sa dalampasigan,morning mist in the leaves of the plant and of course beautiful sunlight.

You could see the nice view of the Thailand Gulf from the hotel room.There are lots of resorts and hotels located on top of the hills since Rayong Province is hilly,but the province consist mostly of low coastal plains.The popular tourist destinations here in Rayong , Ko Samet, Ko Mun and Ko Kodi.

Who said that in HONGKONG ,you could only see tall buildings and infrastructure? Hmmm.They are wrong guys! Hongkong has many things to offer.Aside from the amazing cityscapes , its countryside is simply nice!

Yes,Hongkong country side is cool like Sai Kung Town!Sai Kung is a town on Sai Kung Peninsula, facing the Sai Kung Hoi,part of Sai Kung district in the New Territories ,Hongkong. Sai Kung is the centre of the surrounding villages. Fishing is the main source of living among Sai Kuing residence.

Best time to visit Sai Kung Town is from November to March,winter time, since the sea breeze is cold. Mas gusto ko malamig na weather kasi walang winter season sa Pilipinas.hehehehe! pero dili man pud ka magkurog-kurog sa katugnaw uy.Basta,nindot diri sa Sai Kung Town Hongkong.

Last 2011 ,5.9 million tourist visited this park and I am one of those visitors.My brother Ardniel brought me here since this park is really amazing and spectacular.

Ocean Park has a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and amusement park, situated in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District of Hong Kong. It was established by Governor of HongKong Murray Maclehose in the year 1997

Kids will love this Park more than i do !One day is not enough for me to enjoy touring this park.I wanted to go back here soon! I love OCEAN PARK HONGKONG!

Ocean Park in Hongkong is one of my favorite tourist spot.?Its not juts for fun and entertainment,you could learn something about the richness of our ocean and seas!

Kaso,nanibago ata tiyan ko dito.hahahhaha!after 10 minutes,hanap ako agad ng CR. Sorry dyud,nanibag-o ra dyud ko aning Laksa.DO you know how many times ako pabalik balik ng CR?hahahaaha!kaya ,while sinusulat ko itong story ng LAKSA,naalala ko ang eksena sa CR ng Chocolate Factory sa Georgetown Penang Malaysia.Nagtataka mga kasama ko if saan na ako,Sus,dun lang pala sa isang sulok ,nagpapalabas ng galit dahil sa LAKSA!

Thailand is one of the most popular destinations among tourist! This beautiful country has so many offering.Majestic temples,unique culture, flavorful foods and of course, exciting adventure like elephant riding! Ive been in Thailand last 2009 but I didn't have a chance to experience elephant riding.

I visited Thailand for the second time last May 1 ,2012! I saw this big mammal and took the chance to experience riding on it.

Do you know that Elephants re the largest living land animals on Earth today.The elephant's gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal. At birth, an elephant calf typically weighs 105 kilograms (230 lb).They typically live for 50 to 70 years, but the oldest recorded elephant lived for 82 years.

Elephants are a symbol of WISDOM in Asian cultures and are famed for their memory and intelligence, their intelligence level is thought to be comparable to that of DOLPHINS and PRIMATES. Aristotle once said the elephant was "THE BEAST WHICH PASSETH ALL OVER IN WIT AND MIND"

Wow! I saw this spectacular MBS or Marina Bay Sands in the picture before! Just one click away in YOUTUBE, I watched the video of this Asia's Iconic Spot in Singapore!I was simply amazed with this something unusual pool located on top of the building.

I love swimming!I dream that someday, i could swim in Marina Bay Sands Infinity Pool in Singapore!God is really good.He granted my wish.My dream turned into reality. On May 3,2012 after my unforgettable Asian Cruise,I stayed in MBS Hotel for 2 days.
The first things I did during my first stay in Marina Bay Sands Hotel was to experienced swimming in the infinity pool.From my room on the 10th floor,i need to take an elevator.

I need to transfer into another elevator to reach the 57 floor!
