Lucknow Mahotsava to boost tourism

LUCKNOW: A performance by legendary dancer Birju Maharaj, concerts by playback singers Udit Narayan and Alisha Chenoy and several sports events will be the highlights of the 10-day Lucknow Mahotsava that begins here on November 25.

The festival, being organized by the district administration in association with the State Tourism Department, is aimed at promoting tourism in Uttar Pradesh and to showcase the State’s specialties, officials said.

Carrying the central theme of “heritage and development” the event will provide entertainment to citizens and boost tourism,
The programmes will begin with a tribute to the late `shehnai’ maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan by other artistes.

Pundit Birju Maharaj, Udit Narain, Alisha chenoy, Shanker-Ehsan-Loy would also perform in the Mahotsava, Mr. Mittal said.

The festival will also have several sporting events like “ekka-tonga” race, shooting, vintage car rally, horse race, kite flying besides a youth festival, he said. – PTI

It is the special College in Lucknow Martinière is an educational institution
Located in Lucknow. It has two schools on different campuses one for boys and one for girls. English is the only teaching medium of this college.

The Tower is located very near to the Rumi Darwaza. Built in 1881 by the British. Features of tower are based on European style artwork. The part of the clock is built of pure gunmetal and the pendulum hangs 14 feet.

In 19th century Mohammad Ali developed this monument Chhota Imambara is a monument situated in the city of Uttar Pradesh (India) The city name is Lucknow.
