The Old City of Jerusalem is one of the most intense places on Earth! At the heart of the Jewish, Islamic, and Christian religions, this walled one kilometer area in the center of Jerusalem is beyond words and cannot be missed. The Old City is home to theWestern Wall (aka Wailing Wall and in Hebrew Kotel). This is the last remaining wall of what was the Jewish Temple, and is today the holiest site in the world for Jews.

Above the Western Wall lies the Dome of the Rock important for Muslims as the site where the prophet Muhammad is said to have risen to heaven.

And, just a few minutes walk away, lies the Church of the Sepulcher, where some believe Jesus was crucified and buried.

The Old City of Jerusalem is divided into four quarters; The Jewish Quarter, The Armenian Quarter, The Christian Quarter, and The Muslim Quarter. The walled city is entered by one of seven entry gates, although the busiest for tourists is the Jaffa Gate next to which is the Tower of David Museum, providing the history of Jerusalem within the Old City Walls. Each quarter has its own unique atmosphere and observations, sites and smells, and experiences.

In the Jewish Quarter, for instance, the narrow alleyways are lined by the homes of Ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Jewish families, and Yeshivas (schools for Torah study). Walking and observing the residents of the Jewish quarter rush about on their daily life, whether teenage students in the Yeshivas who are often here from around the world for extended periods of time, children as they walk with school between lessons, or the men, as they rush around between places of worship, and the Western Wall. The houses of the Old City, and the Jewish quarter in particular, are for good reason, hotly contested real estate, and command spectacular prices when they rarely trade hands.

The Jewish Quarter’s narrow alleyways open up as you reach the Western Wall Plazaand the wall itself. At times of Jewish festival the wall can be crowded, and observing the tourists brushing alongside daily prayers here is an interesting site. Anybody can go up to the wall, although men and women have separate areas, and men should cover their heads (there are paper kuppels available), and women wear modest clothing. It is customary to place a small prayer on a piece of paper within a crack on the wall. Amazingly the vast Western Wall represents just a tiny percentage of this elevation of the Temple, and the Western Wall Tunnels accessed via the plaza, allow visitors to see even more of the wall underground. Also interestingly, within the Muslim Quarter is whats known as the Little Western Wall where the wall is once again exposed and visible. This is argued to be holier than the iconic section of wall because it is closer to the ‘Holy of Holies’ – the holiest part of the Temple.

The Muslim Quarter is a huge contrast to the Jewish Quarter its streets are busier, more crowded, with vendors, especially within the famous Shuk selling all varieties of products. In contrast to the other quarters where shops are generally selling religious or tourist-appealing products, here the Shuk is literally an ancient shopping mall in the 21st century where one can practicing their bartering skills and buy almost anything imaginable. As in the Jewish Quarter, and the rest of the Old City, tourists wondering the streets of the Muslim Quarter find it hard to imagine how the locals go about their everyday business so normally in what is such an intense and looked upon place. Kids play in the street, and men sit out in cafes smoking nargila (hookah or shisha).

The Dome of the Rock sits above the Western Wall Plaza and whilst non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the building itself, tourists are able to tour the compound and nearby Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Moving into the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, there is yet another change. Home to about 40 holy sites to Christians, in the streets here you will see priests and pilgrims from around the world. This quarter was constructed around the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus is said to have been crucified and buried. Within this hot patch of real estate, even the Church is divided, with different parts controlled by different Christian sects, meaning that there are often disputes over maintenance and some parts are in poor condition.

The smallest quarter of the Old City is theArmenian Quarter. This area is home to some 2,500 Armenians, an ancient community who have resided here for over 2,000 years.

Lodging in Kudat Sabah.

I was in Kudat town this morning on a business trip. We have some works to do here in Kudat Resthouse or Rumah Rehat Kudat in Bahasa Malaysia. The resthouse is situated at the North-West end of Padang Bandaran Kudat. The entrance to Kudat Resthouse is also facing SMK Pekan Kudat, one of the oldest government funded school in Kudat region.

Weather in Kudat town this morning is fine in fact was very warm. If you are visiting Kudat and you need some information about Kudat. A complete travel guide in Kudat region for new visitors.

Ok, so what on earth about this Kudat Resthouse? Well, I have two thing in mind in this blog post. Number one, I want to highlight that Kudat resthouse is one of the cheapest and also a good place to stay if you are visiting kudat. They have enough rooms, located within a walking distant to any places in Kudat town and affordable. In-house restaurant are also available in Kudat Resthouse. So if you don't have any transport to get around for meals you can always go into their in-house restaurant.

So that is how good is Kudat Resthouse. However there are also a bad things and worth highlighting for you to take into account before you pop-in here in Kudat Resthouse.

If you need internet connection, they don't have internet connection. You will have to bring with you a mobile broadband(internet connection). I wonder why Kudat resthouse management do not think internet connection is important and could be one of the attraction for people to stay here.

The facilities in the resthouse are all the basic one. There are no shower head and TV are not connected to the power and of course no Astro.

One more good thing about Kudat Resthouse is the staffs are all very helpful. For budget accommodation in Kudat, I would suggest you to try it out.

Pulau Banggi Sabah.

Pulau Banggi is one of the island worth visiting in Kudat region. Pulau Banggi is part of a group of islands located within the Kudat region and is off the northern coast of Sabah in Malaysian Borneo. With an area of 440.7km square, it is the largest island in Malaysia followed by the islands of Langkawi and Penang. The area around Pulau Banggi has the second largest concentration of coral reefs in Malaysia and contains an important mix of habitats including mangroves, seagrasses and open sea providing safe haven for endangered animals such as turtles and the dugong.

The Sabah State Government has proposed Pulau Banggi, along with neighboring Pulau Balambangan, Pulau Malawali, Pulau Balak and Pulau Molleangan amongst others, for gazettement as the Tun Mustafa Park under the jurisdiction of Sabah Parks. This Kudat-Banggi conservation area forms the

southern half of the Balabic Straights which separate Borneo from the Philippines and is the meeting place of the Sulu and the South China Seas. The Tun Mustafa Park being over 1 million hectares will be the biggest marine protected area in Southeast Asia.

To reach the main town of Karakit on Pulau Banggi there are daily one hour ferry services that depart from the northern fishing town of Kudat. Kudat is a three hour drive from Kota Kinabalu – the state capital of Sabah, Malaysia.

Diving around Pulau Banggi is astounding and bursting with diversity, due to its proximity to the Balabic Straight Corridor the currents can provide more than a challenge. The corridor serves as a passageway for marine life forms from plankton to whalesharks and all the creatures in between such as dolphins, various species of sharks and whales, turtles, and shoals of oceanic fishes. Dive sites are encased in a stunning variety of corals such as gorgorian fans, bubble coral, staghorn, lettuce corals and many other hard and soft corals. Making their home in the corals are batfish, squid, shrimp, eels, nudibranchs and countless other creatures. There are several merchant ship wrecks in the area, two of which lay in 20-25m of water, and another that is laying at 50m. There are records of countless others just waiting to be discovered.

Thick virgin rainforest covers more than 70% of Pulau Banggi which is largely unaffected by development, and gorgeous white sand beaches wrap around most of the coastline. Over 20,000 people of various ethnicity call Pulau Banggi home. The main town on Pulau Banggi is the town of Karakit; here you will find the Bonggi Resort on the waterfront. They have basic rooms with fan and shared bathroom, or you can go a step up with air-con and attached bathroom. For the more adventurous, Banggi-style wooden huts are available and those who are both adventurous with no fear of heights can opt for the tree houses that present beautiful views of the sea and surrounding islands.

Pulau Banggi has something for everyone, be it lazing on the pristine beaches, wildlife and bird watching, jungle trekking, deep-sea fishing, island hopping, exploring local cultures, scuba diving snorkelling and swimming.

Coconut

Kudat region is known as the main producer of coconut products in Sabah. In the past huge area of land was cleared and planted with coconut trees making it one of the main income source for the people in Kudat. Although most of the coconut plantation now are slowly being replaced with palm oil plantation but there are still many farmers growing coconuts trees for commercial purposes. You should buy coconut fruits while you are here and the price are considerably very much cheaper compared to those being sold in Kota Kinabalu.

Honey

Kudat is also well-known as Honey Bee producer in Sabah. You may visit Gombizau Honey Bee Farm in Kampung Gombizau, Matunggung to visit the honey bee farm and to buy a bottle or two of fresh, fine and delicious honey.

Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, Tip Of Borneo

A visit to Kudat is not complete if you don't take the opportunity to visit The Tip of Borneo or well-knowned by its local name Tanjung Simpang Mengayau. Historically, according to Rungus folklore Tanjung Simpang Mengayau is the site where a fierce battle fought by their forefather defending the Rungus terretory against invading pirates from the north. It was claimed that pirates often frequent the area around the Tip of Borneo, attacking and looting villagers who live nearby.

The Rungus community who live around the area decided to join forces to

defend themselves. The site was named 'Sampang Mangazo' as this is the ideal place to spot and observe the arrival of pirates and foreign ships. The brave Rungus warrior stood guard here and kept the pirates away.

This dramatic headland is situated in the northern-most tip of BORNEO island, the third largest island in the world, after Greenland and New Guinea. Tanjung Simpang Mengayau is located in the Kudat Peninsula, about three and a half hours (or 215 kilometres) drive from Kota Kinabalu City.

Simpang Mengayau means 'lingering junction' as it is here that the South China Sea lingers and meets the Sulu Seas flowing from the east. Enjoy the stunning breathtaking view. The sunsets and full moons are just beautiful and here is the perfect place to see beautiful sunsets. The Pulau Kalampunian lighthouse is a reminder of treacherous coastline and past shipwrecks. On the left is the beautiful beach of Pantai Kalampunian.

It's a lovely easy stroll to the flagpole, the Globe and the rocky outcrop that forms the "Tip of Borneo".

There is a cafe, souvenir shop and washrooms.

Entrance Fees: It is free for public. You don't have to pay a single cent.

Getting there (from Kota Kinabalu)

You can go there by taxi, self-drive or with a tour agent. Four-wheel drives and saloon cars with permits are stationed near the Indian Restaurant opposite the Health Clinic in Kampung Air. Four-wheel drives can take between 7-8 passengers at RM20.00 - RM25.00 per pax return, while saloon cars take up to 4 passengers and charge RM240.00 for a return trip to Simpang Mengayau. Check with the Car Rental services for their charges.

Probably many of us never heard about Kudat Riviera Hotel and resort in Kudat. It doesn't really looks like a hotel but a large villas or bungalows. Actually we have one in Kudat and it is situated along the coastal area at Kelambu beach in Kudat. Actually 'Riviera' is an Italian term originally from the Middle Ages for the coast of Liguria. The term is now more generally applied to any coastal area popular with tourists, particularly in a warm areas. Since the term of 'Riviera' suits perfectly with this new tourist attraction, now the area is officially referred to as Kudat Riviera hotel or resort.

The value of land in this area 'Kudat Riviera' had gone up drastically since it was declared and opened for tourism development and now the whole area will cost you more than RM 70,000.00 per acre. The area around Kudat Riviera was originally belong to the local people but was sold to Exquisite Borneo Villas (EBV) in partnership with Touchdown World Travel Group a European-based global tour operator and tourism marketing company. Rice wine in sabah is affectionately known as "Tapai"!

This factory is located in TVRC

rice grain is smashed in this smasher called "lesung padi" to separate the husk from the grain..the rice is put in the centre and smashed using the 'wooden smasher'..i don't know whether to call it smash or squeezed or what - or even if it is the correct word to use..but whatever it is ..the usage is almost like in the mortar used in labs

the other almost-oval-shaped 'thing' is called the tampi...which is woven from thinned bamboo sticks..the function is to let the husk fall while retains the rice grain in it..the mechanism is simply by moving the 'sifter'
up and down..preferably in windy condition..trust me i've tried it! the rice grain is then cooked and turned into tapai!

A flow chart on how tapai is made...well..u can read..don't u ever try at home!

The two 'chinese-styled' Jar is called "tempayan" in malay or "tajau" in local dialect: to be true KadazanDusun...or better still: Pokok Tajau...I forgot the other names..siopon? correct me?

I am not going to explain on the "ancient looking" backsack..more...but it is called 'basung' and used to carry the rice grains during harvesting season in the paddy field...ancient it may look like but it is very efficient..you can even put a toddler inside..and carry him on your back!

The Park surrounded by the hills of the Crocker Range and lies at 700m altitude and rich in entomofauna. It’s great place to relax, in the mountain air of the Crocker Range. It’s a great place to photography these beautiful butterflies, native orchids, exotic flowering plants and the amazing insects collection especially the butterflies and beetles.

The Crocker Range is among the best insects diversity in Sabah. Many rare and endemic species of butterflies and beetles which only can found in this range, especially the family of stag beetles(Lucanidae) like Cyclommatus chewi, Odontolabis katsurai and Odontolabis schenki among the rare and localized species it known only from the mountain forests surrounding Crocker Range and endemic of Sabah.

Over 100 species of butterflies have been recorded in the park area and many butterflies come into the garden to suck nectar from many flowering shrubs, including the most rare and endemic mountains species butterflies family of Papilionidae especially Graphium procles, Graphium stratiotes and Troides andromache (Borneo Birdwing).

The journey from Ranau will take one hour and from the main city of Kota Kinabalu will take one hours 30 minutes. Overnight stay at TVRC or at Tambunan Golf Club will ease your tired. A trip to tugu peringatan Mat Salleh in Tambunan recently, revealed that the hero's history is still being appreciated and immortalised by the local people.

If you're from KK drive along the road that goes to toboh by using the conventional road (not the shortcut at the kg kinabaan).You will see the Sign Board on your right-hand side..at kg. Tibabar you have to go inside the kampung and the tugu is at the end of the road.

Budayakan seni! The JB Arts Fest hits Johor Baru today, presenting an entire roster of spine and brain-tingling acts and performances, from music, dance, martial arts, singers from east and west, including traditional performers.

Aimed at creating a buzz about the country’s southern hub to attract young Malaysians, this eighth event of its kind has firmly established itself on the calendar of Johor tourism every July.

The fest even offers free training and workshops on the performance arts and is open to everyone to attend.

At 24 days long, the eighth fest shows the eagerness and passion of Johor Bahru arts activists in organising the event to help with the revitalisation of the JB Old Town Area to bring in crowds and tourists where once was silence.

Fittigly, the venue of the Eighth JB Arts Festival takes place at the majestic Bangunan Ibrahim, Bukit Timbalan, which was once the state secretariat office, built in year 1942. It is a remarkable symbol of Johor heritage, and will in future become the Johor State Art and Cultural Centre.

This year ‘s fest is held in collaboration with Tan Hiok Nee Cultural Street and Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association, the latter for the photography competition. Expect plenty of action this weekend.

Singapore Busiest and Cleanest Town

Woodlands, or the Woodlands New Town is a suburban town in northern Singapore, part of the North West Community Development Council (Northwest CDC) district. The town should not be confused with the Woodlands constituency within the Woodlands New Town in the Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (GRC).

Woodlands is adjacent to Sembawang New Town and Sungei Kadut Industrial Estate, and is connected to Malaysia's southernmost city, Johor Bahru, by the Johor-Singapore Causeway. Woodlands is also connected to Yishun via Gambas Avenue and Senoko Industrial Park via Woodlands Avenue 10.

Woodlands has one of the largest shopping malls in Singapore. It is also home to the Singapore Sports School, Republic Polytechnic, and Innova Junior College.

When Singapore was established as a trading port in 1823, Woodlands connected the Malayan Peninsula to the natural port in Singapore, connecting the two states in 1924 via the Johor-Singapore Causeway.

A town still in development, Woodlands is quite an ever-changing town, with a distinct style, apart from the hectic lifestyle familiar in downtown and older parts of Singapore. From the beginning of development during the 1970s to expand Marsiling, Woodlands has grown into a huge neighborhood, home to the many different people from all walks of life.

Woodlands is one of the early development successes in Singapore, becoming today's model for future transportation, entertainment, leisure and education developments within an estate.

"Woodlands" is also the name of the primary estate in the town, containing most of the commercial activities, such as Woodlands Square, the town's commercial hub, consisting of buildings and services of high standards. Built on a hill, Woodlands Square consists of a large hectare of grassland, houses the gala events or celebrations at different times of the year; a large mall, Causeway Point, oversees the Woodlands MRT Station and the Woodlands Civic Centre.

There are wide ranges of housing apartment blocks, some of which serve as the finest example of architecture in Singapore. Woodlands is highly accessible, compared to the other estates in the town: Feeder bus routes run within the estate, and large avenues allow a seamless flow of traffic. Woodlands is highly urbanised, however, and at times permitting, buildings were built a distance away from heavy-used roads in a distinctive style of post-independence Singapore. Buildings are phased closely together, developing in a carefully planned pattern.

Woodlands is highly accessible, connected by major roads and expressways, with a relatively large underground bus interchange, the Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange and an elevated MRT station next to Causeway Point at Woodlands Square. Most of the bus routes are operated by SMRT Buses, while SMRT Trains operate the MRT stations.

Residents of Woodlands are serviced by three MRT stations, at the centre of the suburb, Woodlands MRT Station; north of the suburb, Marsiling MRT Station and Southeast of the suburb, Admiralty MRT Station. The regional bus interchange was relocated from the previous Town Centre, Woodlands Town Centre, to the current town centre at Woodlands Square.

Land transportation in Woodlands is relatively efficient, in comparison to other estates, contrasting by the amount of well-maintained roads, though a common sight in Singapore. Twelve avenues support and help circulate all of the traffic of the town, especially Avenue 2|Avenues 2, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 12.

Avenue 2 is a shorter route from the older estates of the town to the Bukit Timah Expressway. Avenue 3 connects Marsiling from the exit of Bukit Timah Expressway to Woodlands Centre Road, the sole road to the checkpoint of Woodlands Customs. The rest of it maintains a similar route of the MRT line from Marsiling MRT Station to Woodlands MRT Station, which connects to Woodlands Square. As the avenue ends at the entrance of the slope of Woodlands Square (the road that circulates Woodlands Square), another end starts the Woodlands Avenue 7, which connects Woodlands to Admiralty, also the route of the MRT line from Woodlands MRT Station to Admiralty MRT Station.

Divisions within estates are further connected and regulated by two- or single lane roads called streets, which are distinguished by a suffix of double-digit numbers, such as Woodlands Street 82 and Woodlands Street 83. This was a common practice before the late '90s. Drives are two- or single lane roads built for newer divisions within an estate, similar to that of the streets.

Links and crescents are often three-, two-, or single lane roads that convey commuters from a main road to another main road, such as the Woodlands Link, which connects Woodlands Avenue 9 to the main roads in the Woodlands Industrial Park. Crescents connect main roads to streets or drives.

Tamparuli Legend and Myth.

Tamparuli Town is full with legend and myth, whereby people in Tamparuli used to tell me about a story of " Bukit Perahu " which mean Hill Of Boat in English Language a few years ago. One story that is still fresh in my memory is the story of a huge rock shape like a boat located somewhere behind the " Bukit Perahu ". If you want to search for it, it will never be found but you will found it accidentally if don't want to look for it. That was the old man told me years ago. Bukit Perahu is located behind the Buddhist Temple and at the brink of road to Kg Bawang, Tamparuli. This road also known as the old Ranau Road and if you follow this road, you will reach Kg Togop Tamparuli and from there you will penetrate to Ranau Road.

Bukit Perahu got it name because of the huge rock shape like a boat located somewhere behind that hill. I have been there several time already but I never seen it. No body have ever found it but there is story about it. It make me so confuse about the story because there is no evidence about the existing of the "huge rock shape like a boat" and no body dare to find it. My friend and I used to find rubber seed behind the Buddhist Temple and because of worry maybe the old man told us about the story to prevent us to coming back again and again to that hills. The hill is full with small tree and grass during that day. Behind the hill is full with rubber tree and you feel freaky when you go there. It will be a huge discovery if someone find it but there is a myth telling that if you find it you will be lost forever.

Bukit Perahu also used by the Roman Catholic adherent to do the Stations Of the Cross every year. The Roman Catholic adherent is from St Philip Roman Catholic Church of Tamparuli. Bukit Perahu is namely by the Roman Catholic follower as St Veronica Hill and a big white cross is planted on top of the hill. It was majestic and wonderful view from the hill top, you can see all the Tamparuli Town area from there. Pick up you camera and go for it. It open for public and make sure that your are really fit to make the climb. Bukit Perahu is also used by the Paraglider to do the Paragliding Extreme sport. Usually they will do this sport if the wind blow from behind Bukit Perahu. Datuk Jahid Jahim have experience in doing this sport several years ago and I was there at the scene to watch it done. All the paragliders is welcome to join this sport. Tamparuli authority is strongly promoting this sport around the globe and this sport is aiming to be done twice a year. It will bring huge impact to Tamparuli town whereby a lot of visitor will come to this town to enjoy this game.

There are many different story about this hill, you can search through the net or wikipedia to get more information about it. It is a legend or myth it up to the reader to decide it. Tuaran will be hosting " Harvest Festival " 2011

Tuaran Town is located 11km form Tamparuli Sabah. District Of Tuaran will be hosting and the organizing district for the Harvest Festival in 2011. Tuaran will be celebrating the Pesta Kaamatan or Pesta Menuai or Harvest Festival in English on 30 and 31st May 2011. All local and foreign are invited to celebrate the KDM yearly celebration. This celebration is being celebrate as the thankfulness of the farmer after their finish harvesting their paddy and this traditional celebration was being continue from time to time for more than 300 years ago. Harvest Festival will be officially launch by Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan-Huguon Siou, TYT Datuk Seri Juhar and Datuk Seri Musa Hj Aman the Chief Minister Of Sabah.

Tamparuli also will we be of one of the district in Tuaran to organize this celebration. The main program will be the competition of Harvest Festival Queen. The Kaamatan festival is an annual event in the cultural life of the Kadazandusuns of Sabah since time immemorial. In its deepest sense, Kaamatan festival is a manifestation of Creator and Creation relationship, as well as Inter-Creations relationship. It embodies the principal acts of invocation of divinities, appeasing, purification and restoration, re-union of benevolent spirits, and thanksgiving to the Source of All. It is part of a complex wholesome Momolian religious system centered on the paddy rites of passage and the life cycle of Bambarayon - the in-dwelling spirit of paddy.Appeasing is done in respect of Bambarayon, Deities, Divinities and Spirits, who may have been hurt by human wrongful, acts.

Purification is performed in respect of human and spiritual needs for forgiveness followed by resolutions to make themselves worthy of the gifts of life from God. Restoration in necessary to ensure the health and well being of SUNIL, mankind and other spiritual beings. Re-union is realised in respect of human needs to be integrated in body, mind and spirit within the concept of the seven-in-one divinity in humanity, as well as re-union of Bambarayon with human Sunduan. Finally Thanksgiving is observed as befitting for all creations to express their gratitude and appreciation for the gifts of life (through Huminodun) and all life supportive system on earth that their Creator lovingly and generously gave them.

Etymology

The word Kaamatan is derived from the root word tomot, a Kadazandusun term for harvest. In the context of this article, Kaamatan refers to the paddy-harvesting period, which involves a series of traditional rituals culminating finally to the Kaamatan (harvest) festival. Tadau kaamatan is a cele bration for the people who celebrate tadau kaamatan.

Rituals

The festival is observed in 6 rituals stages:The Kumogos CeremonyBefore a harvest begins, a Bobohizan/Bobolian (ritual specialist) will select and tie-up 7 stalks of the best rice from a plot of rice field. These stakes of rice will only be harvested after the particular plot of field has been completely harvested. The 7 stalks of rice will then be scattered all over the rice field. This gesture is to inform the other spirits who may be present among the rice field not to make any disturbance when the harvesting work is to commenced and each of them will be given something after the harvest.

The Kumotob Ceremony

From the area which has not yet been harvested to the Bobohizan/Bobolian will select 7 stalks of the best rice. The selected stalks are then tied up together and placed in a tadang (a type of basket for keeping rice). The rest of the rice in the field are then harvested and the rice are turned into seed for future planting season.

The Posisip Ceremony

The Bobohizan/Bobolian goes to a rice hut together with the 7 stalks of rice which is tied up and placed in the tadang. While reciting chants she takes out the bundle of rice stalks and insert them in a bamboo pole kept in the tangkob. The recital of the chants is to call the spirit of the rice to stay in the rice hut until the next planting season, i.e. when the rice spirits are called to the rice field again.

The Poihib Ceremony

In the rice hut the Bobohizan/Bobolian carefully pours the rice into the tangkob. This process is repeated for a number of times until all the rice has poured into the tangkob. The Bobohizan/Bobolian then recite chants appealing to the rice spirits to keep watch over the rice stored in the tangkob.

The Magavau Ceremony

This is the most important ceremony in the sequence of events of the harvest festival. This focuses in the restoration of Bambarayon as well as offering food to Bambarayon. In the olden days, the Magavau ritual is performed in the padi field on the night of the first full moon after the harvest. Nowadays, this ritual is carried out in the house of the owner of the field.

The Humabot Ceremony

This is the final stage of the observation of the harvest festival and is in the form of merry-making and entertainment. This ceremony is now celebrated at village, district and state levels annually (30 - 31 May). A variety of entertainment and activities in the form of dances and traditional sports are held and the climax of the event is the selection of the Unduk Ngadau (Harvest Festival Queen). The Unduk Ngadau symbolizes Huminodun, the sacrificed daughter of Kinorohingan. The rituals described above are typical of the Kadazan-Dusun of the Penampang-Papar area. Other dusunic groups, the murutic groups of the interior and the paitanic groups in the east have different rice harvest rituals. For example, the Lotud Dusun have a series of eight ceremonies - Mansalud, Monuras, Tumakau, Matang, Mongoi Rumali, Mogimpuun, Sumondod and Monumbui. The essence of this ceremony however is the same, that is of thanksgiving for a plentiful harvest.

Tanak Nabalu Homestay is located in the plains of the valley-Lobong Kg.Lobong Kota Belud. Located about 60km from Kota Kinabalu city, 33km from Tamparuli Sabah and 5km from the main road Kota Kinabalu-Ranau. This Home Stay background view is the mighty Mt.Kinabalu. Tanak Nabalu Homestay name was taken from the stone call Tanak Watu Mount Kinabalu, located in the middle of Kg. Lobong-Lobong Kota Belud. The Local call it " Tanak Watu Nabalu " which mean in English small rock of Mt.Kinabalu.Tanak Nabalu Homestay has a strategic location and background view is so beautiful. A comfortable atmosphere whereby it got natural beauty which becomes the main eset of this place.

Inside Johor Bahru Malaysia.

Here I published some of the best photo to be shared among your guy out there and especially for the Sabahan and Sarawakian who intend to travel here at Johor Bahru. left picture is a walkaway of pedestrian bridge connecting JB Sentral and City Square Shopping Complex. JB Centar is a one stop station to all major city in Peninsular Of Malaysia and Singapore. An advise to all Malaysian, you can travel using KTM to other major city in Peninsular Of Malaysia. From JB Central you can travel to Singapore and enjoy the cleanest city in South East Asia.

Inside City Square Shopping Complex at JB

Remember to do window shopping inside the City Square Shopping Mall. This shopping mall is the best in Johor Bahruu beside Danga City Shopping Mall, Jusco, Landmark and UO Store. Usually this shopping mall is full and little crowded with people and most of them is Chinese. You can buy a lot of things at the third floor and the name of the outlets is Inner City Shop. You can buy cheap shoes here, bags, cloths and souvenir to be brought back to your hometown in Sabah.

A Passage Walk at Legaran Seggei to Indian Street beside Hindu Temple.

The Visitor can rest here for a while and watch the fish moving around. Beside this area you can buy a lot of product where you can see array of stall selling everything you wish for. Be very careful of the "pick pocket" around here. Actually you do not have to worry because there is a police post there but precaution is better than cure. An advise to you all be very careful.

Left picture is a view from the Indian Street where the Merlin Tower standing glorious from the eye of the traveler who love to take picture as their memorable memory. Beside this Tower you can enjoy the variety of Chinese Restaurant selling variety of foods. This is for non muslin only. The price is reasonable and really tasty and the taste is more likely at Chinese Restaurant in Sabah. Highly recommended restaurant is Snow White Chinese Restaurant. Enjoy....guys

Indian Street.

This Indian Street is just like the Petaling Street in KL and Gaya Street at Kota Kinabalu Sabah. You can find a lot of things and mostly the product is more to Indian goods. Beside this street is the Bazzar that is open daily from 6 Pm to 12 Midnight. The goods sold here can be bargain and try to negotiate wisely and do not to demanded. Please walk in a group of friends so that you cannot be bully by the saler there. From here you can see the Sultan Ismail Building Tower but for this article I did not have enough time to walk around there and hopefully next time I can visit there.

I'm Very sorry for the picture quality. I forget to bring my digital camera that day and hopefully next time I will published more and quality picture. Please find cheap and safe hotel if you like to stay at Johor Baharu. You will took about 40 minutes to walk around Johor Baharu for visiting all of this shopping mall. Actually this town is really crowded with people and really hot. For your convenience please visit the Bazaar, Landmark, City Square and UO store. If you like to visit Danga City Mall and Jusco, you need to travel by taxi for more convenience and cost you about RM6 only. Do visit JB from January to April only because during this time this city is not crowded with people. See you here at JB and enjoy your visit here.
