The place is famous for its expansive grasslands, grazing cattle, and serene countryside views that seem straight out of a movie.

How We Got There

We rented a pick-up truck, which I highly recommend, especially if you’re traveling with kids and friends. From Cagayan de Oro City, the drive took about 2.5 to 3 hours.

Our route:

• Cagayan de Oro City > Manolo Fortich > Impasug-ong Proper > Communal Ranch

The road is mostly paved, but some sections going up are steep and winding. Having a pick-up made the drive smoother and more comfortable, especially when carrying food, bags, and excited children who couldn’t sit still.

From the moment we arrived, we couldn’t stop staring at the Burj Khalifa. As the sun set, the building started to glow, and we took so many photos because it looked amazing in the evening light.

Our trip to Discovery Coron started with a short flight to Busuanga from Cebu City, followed by a 30- to 45-minute boat ride to the resort’s shores. The trip itself was enjoyable, with beautiful views of clear waters and green landscapes. When we arrived, the friendly staff welcomed us with refreshing drinks, a cool face towel, and warm smiles that made us feel at home. The island’s wildlife, like monitor lizards, wild birds, and fruit bats, also added to the welcoming atmosphere. After checking in, we received a complimentary foot spa massage in our villa and enjoyed a selection of free snacks.

We stayed in spacious sunset villas designed to reflect the island’s calm atmosphere. Each villa had modern amenities, including comfortable beds, air conditioning, and a private veranda with stunning ocean views.

First-Day Adventures

Eager to start our first day, we quickly changed into swimwear and headed to the island’s beach for snorkeling. We asked for a guide to help us explore the underwater world of Discovery Coron.
