Why are this blog?

In this world economy, businesses are suffering. Not just financially, but ethically and morally. We are going to be sharing, the nitty gritty. We are going to spill the beans. Every successful marketing campaign, every success innovation, every successful system, we are going to share with the world. I know what you are thinking? Why Brain Rain?

The idea is to give back. Businesses are too focus on making money, and not focused on serving their market. Our objective is to serve as many businesses as possible by offering value. Eben Pagan once said, ” Offer $100 of value to a million people and ask for $10 in return.” Money is simple a measurement of success. A metric. When we start serving money, instead of people we lose focus on the real meaning of business. When you have vision that is people centric, instead on money centric is last for centuries.

It’s about service.

Us vs Them

They give you strategic advice with no implementation.

Their content is highly relevent but lack engagement.

From Travis:
This is more like a blog than an email but…

Oh freaking well! (I would have cursed but my mom is on the thread. I love you Mom)

This email is a must read for the marketing team.

Great suggestions. I agree. I was a little redundant in the presentation. I see how I can make the problem tie into the solution without being redundant. In fact, I actually thought I needed more proof (testimonials, cases of other churches with apps, etc.) or/even some trust building elements (the dramatic story of DigiPraise). But there is one major problem… Adding those elements will actually lengthen the video! Or may be you guys can help me out with that. Here is my question:

How would you get it down in two minutes but still have enough information to overcome objections, show proof, give a sample, reverse risk with a guarantee, and drive the reader to action? Hoyt and Troy had the same suggestion: To shorten some aspects of the video. I highly agree with Troy in reducing the demo portion and I plan to take out redundancies and repetition to shorten the presentation. However, I think everyone’s concern objection is not a question of length but INTEREST (Yes I just yelled at you).

Didn’t Romeo say, ” It is the east, and Interest is the Sun” (Romeo and Juliet). Okay, you are right. Juliet is the Sun. But INTEREST still prevails.

Think about it. Why do we look at a 2 hour movie but can’t watch a 8 minute presentation? Because movies are interesting. I once sat and watched a 3 hour movie called Titantic. May be I am the only dork to watch it.

Movies are much more entertaining(action, dialogue, moving plots, drama, comedy, and the list is endless)

What if I called the video an “8 minute movie” and showed a story of a girl frustrated with church until DigiPraise change her life? Sounds more interesting huh? But does it sale? I don’t know. What I do know are some videos I know sold millions of products. Here are a list of a couple that I have studied while developing my marketing skills.

Go to these pages immediately and check them out:

http://www.doubleyourdating.com/ -The sales video and opt-in form is on the homepage. Created by a guru of entrepreneurship named Eben Pagan. He built a $25 million a year information empire. DoubleYourDating.com started his empire.

www.strategicprofits.com -Started by Rich Shrefren (if I spelled his name wrong. Opps) Multimillionaire. He teaches businesses to use the internet to make big profits. He once launched a product and made more than 1 million dollars in one day.

www.millionairemessenger.com -Brendon Burchard-created a #1 best selling book (#1 New York Times best seller, #1 Barnes And Noble, #1 USA Today, and #1 Amazon.com). You know what’s interesting about this. His book is not even carried at many Barnes and Noble. How in the heck did he get a #1 Barnes and Noble seller that is not even in all Barnes And Noble stores? He did it by generating traffic to this video opt in page and people bought on BarnesAndNoble.com and Amazon.com.

I guarantee by the end of this email one of you will put one of the previous links in your url box…And watch the video in its entirety because I called you to action earlier in this email.

LOL. . And the crowd goes wild.

Here are some Low Selling Videos:

Hold on…Wait…The websites don’t exist because the websites are not selling anything.

It probably took you 8 minutes to read this. Think about why? Because I engineered it from the Subject to the Ending…And I drop the mike.

to me, Diana, Ernest, Sheila, Troy
You shorten the message but listening to your team. If your team says shorten the video it doesn’t mean listen to their suggestion and still do what you want. I watch Titanic too but I had a reason why, because a cute girl wanted to see it with me. Had nothing to do with the interests of the movie, and since then I have never watched the whole movie again, why?… Because it is too long.

You have to remember you are selling a product that people don’t think/know they need. If your pitch is too long then you have missed out for a chance for a sale

to Troy
Troy,

I am concerned with this last email. And don’t want to respond. I have some points.

1. Not listening to your team. I wrote the email responding to what the team said. I have every right to ask why.

2. My email was filled with facts and sample videos. No one has yet to do any research to justify. Why reinvent the wheel when we simply can make the wheel better.

3. You still watched the Titantic because of interest. You interest was in the cute girl.

4.”you are selling a product that people don’t think/know they need” This concerns me tremendously. People buy stuff because of results they need. $2000 purchases are not impulse buys. You buy a car because you need a something to get you from point A to B. You buy a 50 inch flat screen because you want/need a great tv watching experience and to look cool of course. In my opinion, if we are selling a product people don’t know they need we are in trouble.

Still no solutions to the problem.

My solutions:

1. A/B Split test. If you don’t know, what it is look it up. Try a longer video vs. a short video and we track results all the way to the sale.
2. Use a short trailer to build interest for a longer video.
3. Chop up the long video to a series of short videos that lead to the sale. This is called a product launch. Look up Jeff Walker Product Launch Formula another proven method.
4. We can just scratch the video and hope the copy of the website converts. We should consider this because we could have a product churches are already looking for.
5. Test 1-4 and do a series A/B Split test. This will take a while.

to Travis
Lets get this straight. I am listening to the team and you are telling me that you have never watched a movie for more than 8 minutes. Really? Ask yourself why do you watch movies?I have not done what I wanted. The presentation is still not marketed to our clients. That’s why we are having the conversation. I have every right to question the team’s thoughts why we should get. When is somebody going to get me some facts on videos that sell?

From the meeting yesterday, we agreed to test the names in the marketplace. But I begin thinking, the alliteration of the name caused it to be catchy. So I ran a quick search for “one syllable words that begin with P.” I am interested to see if we can pair “Praise” with any of them. Here is my list:

Hello Brainiacs/Rainmakers,

Brainiac Update
The backend for Palmpraise is starting to come together. We are working diligently and smart. Thanks Travis aka “Frontend Mastermind” aka The “HTML/CSS/jQuery/Javascript Guru” for your hard work.

We are making great strides to get a fully functional admin page up and running by Halloween (muaw ha ha! in evil voice). After halloween, we will start asking for user testing, opinions, and feedback from team members and focus groups. In mid-November, I believe we should hit the streets and start getting ready for the new launch date: January 1, 2012.

Palmpraise control panel will allow every congregation or church organization or subset of a church organization to manage their own mobile app through this online site for a FREE basic package. Yes, I said it, FOR FREE (in a deep powerful voice). We will discuss the business model (inspiration comes from a combination of Dropbox and MailChimp models) in the meeting. In theory, every congregation, big or small, whose mission is to spread the Word, should register for this fantastic opportunity.

Sneak Peak

panel.digipraise.com/index.php/optin (need some javascript tweaks and a short intro video)

Brainiac Insider Notes
While creating this backend, three words come to my mind: Simplicity, Automation, Duplication.

Simplicity – This site should be so easy-to-use that infants will be able to use this site. lol. Thus, all words should be kept to a minimum. Videos and images will be my new best friend. Also, this requires substantial amount of user interactivity.
Automation – After completed with this site, this site should be so automated that a robot should be designing and tweaking the site. I want the register process, login process, transaction process, and user experience to be totally hands-free. I dont want to see another line of code. For the ultimate Brainiac, this means custom php scripts and cron jobs (dont ask, look it up).
Duplication – This site should be easily duplicated to other markets. It will be so duplicable that we can make another product in at most two weeks. In other words, product development time sucks. For the geeks, I am adopting the Model-View-Controller Architecture (google it) and making the code modular by making libraries and classes with Object Oriented Programmin (OOP) (search it!).
Personable – Ok, I lied. I added a fourth word. This site should be so personable that it should be your best friend. It should know your deepest secrets. lol. It should email you cool thank you notes. It should mail you t-shirts. It upload your profile with customized deals. The site should send bday gifts.

Cant find the mic. Who lost the Mic? Walks off the stage…
