I love our mission, and I love sharing it with others!  That’s what happened at our 7th annual fashion show, luncheon, and auction – Fashion Finds with a Flair – at FOUR POINTS by Sheraton Pittsburgh North today.  The volunteers amassed fabulous auction baskets and silent auction items, the luncheon was delicious (especially the yummy chocolate mousse dessert!), and the fashions – wow! – who could believe that this is RESALE!  Check out the photos of the models!  

In addition to showcasing the merchandise available at Treasure House Fashions, several models shared their connection to this “treasured” resource to women in the North Hills.  Ramona shared how Treasure House provided clothing for her and her daughter while she was at HEARTH, Sue explained that she was introduced to Treasure House through New Choices, Linda found Treasure House when planning a fashion show for her Class Act Program at Western Psych - various agencies networking together to provide for women experiencing times of transition and/or crisis.  

But in addition to being a storehouse for women in need, Treasure House Fashions is committed to affirming the treasure in EVERY woman – and that’s what our model Barbara shared. She came to our shop when her precious sister Linda died.  Treasure House offered a place for her sister’s clothing to be a blessing to others.  Through that heart connection (and her love of clothes), Barbara became a regular shopper and donor.  This past fall she purchased a fur coat for her mother (also a model at our fashion show).  Her mom had always made her children’s clothing, so such a luxury was never a consideration.  The coat was a daughter’s loving expression of admiration and appreciation, and her mom’s beaming smile confirmed that it is a deep joy!  At Treasure House Fashions our vision is “affirming the treasure in you” regardless of your age or stage in life. 

Oh, and one more thing to share – we had a “guest model”  – my fiance showed up unexpectedly with a dozen roses!!  He’s a delightful “benefit” to the whole Treasure House Fashions journey….but that’s another blog!!

But the big story this month is a fashion show that you won’t want to miss. April 18th is the date for Fashion Finds with a Flair at FOUR POINTS by Sheraton (Cranberry) from 10AM until 2PM.  This event offers a lovely luncheon and fashions from Treasure House Fashions for a donation of $30.  The event also offers fabulous Chinese and Silent auction items!  The excitement is building and so are the auction baskets!!!!

It’s been a long cold winter, but now it’s over. At least it’s over at Treasure House Fashions!

We are fully stocked with beautiful spring and summer clothing.  So, please stop buy and do a little shopping to freshen up your spring wardrobe.

Yes folks, our famous Bag Sale starts on February 3rd!  For those of you who have yet to experience this event, it’s everything you can put in a brown paper bag for just $30.00, and we supply the bag.

Our store is still full of beautiful fall and winter clothing and accessories.  We need to get ready for spring so this clothing needs to go!  So please, stop in and take advantage of this great opportunity to pick up beautiful clothes for a fraction of the original price.  In today’s economy, this is an event that you do not want to miss.

Happy New Year!  If you’re like me, perhaps one of your NEW YEAR resolutions is to organize and simplify your closets.  It’s easier to purge when you know your closet clean-outs will be a blessing to others, so consider donating to TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS – the nonprofit, quality, women’s resale shop with a tender heart (check out our mission at www.thfashions.org). 

We are accepting FALL/WINTER merchandise for a few more weeks – until January 17th, so please, ladies, clean out those winter clothes ASAP and get them to our shop during regular store hours by January 17th.  No appointment is necessary.  Store hours are TUES  11-6, WED  11-6, THUR 11-8, FRI 11-4, and SAT 11-4. 

 NO DONATIONS OF CLOTHING WILL BE TAKEN FROM JANUARY 17th TO MARCH 1st.  We have our semi- annual BAG SALE the first three weeks of FEB – all the clothes you can stuff in a brown grocery bag for $30.  Don’t miss that, ladies!  We provide the bags, and you get the amazing bargains!!  

Starting March 1st, we’ll receive SPRING/SUMMER merchandise.  We ask that all donations be clean, gently-worn, and without any odors – mothballs, cigarettes, etc.  We want our merchandise to be a ”treasure” to any woman. 

Here’s a save-the-date notice:  our annual fundraiser, FASHION FINDS WITH A FLAIR, will be April 18th at FOUR POINTS in Cranberry.  It’s a lovely event – luncheon, fashion show, and auction (both Chinese auction baskets and Silent Auction items) from 10AM until 2PM.  We’re now collecting items for auction baskets and silent auction items, as well as coporate sponsorships.  If you can contribute in any way, please contact us.  And of course, we’d love to have you attend the event.  Check our website in February for registration forms.
