Pennies

Is it still cool to put pennies in your loafers?

Brooks Brothers jacket, tee, and shoes, Old Navy jeans

Weekend fun part 2

2013-10-30T12:30:00.000-04:00

Nighttime!! Had to do a little DC nightlife!

Joe Fresh dress, Steven by Steve Madden shoes, CandidArt body chain

Just got the most amazing bronzer from Victoria Secret. Ummmm, no one told me the key to a lazy face is bronzer! It has become my daily go to. Add a little mascara and lip gloss and go!

Weekend fun

2013-10-16T17:07:00.001-04:00

Took a quick weekend jaunt to DC to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday.

Arrival Selfie! It was a surprising 90 degrees in Washington, DC and I was excited to get that last little bit of sunshine!

Old Navy tank, H&M dress turned skirt, Zara sandals, MCM bag

I've had this dress from H&M for sooooooo long! Here's a picture from 2008 in the dress! Loved London, must get back.....

The birthday girl got in on the photo shoot fun.

Stopped for some cupcake fun!

Got these glasses at a stand for $5 way back when.

Till next time!

Urban Ballerina

2013-10-14T12:30:00.000-04:00

I felt like I was in a tutu and ballet shoes with this outfit.

I get strong reactions from people whenever I wear this skirt. It's one of my favorites, very girly and fun!

J Crew sweater and shoes, Asos skirt

I'm also now obsessed with all things monogramed. It gave this sweater a great personal touch. Up next on my monogram list are this necklace and this bag. Also thinking PJs because that's what grownups do right?

Sweet boot Jesus

2013-10-11T12:30:00.000-04:00

Lordy, I need these! I can just picture the Rhianna-esque moment in these! And then breaking them out on my 40th birthday lol! Vintage camo boots! Gahhhh!

Get them here and watch me be camo green with envy!

2013-10-09T12:30:00.000-04:00

During my online scour of the look book images I really wanted the men's sweatpants in this camo print. I knew however that so did all the boys who knew about the collection and that they'd be so insanely too long that for me that tailoring would ruin the shape. So instead I opted for the sweat shirt.

PL for Target sweat shirt, Gap jeans, Nine West shoes, F21 necklace

I added a little bling for a little J Crew inspired moment. Unfortunately the print on the sweat shirt is a little too dark for you to really see. All day I would say "it's camo" and people are like "it is?" so whatevs I still like it.

I've shared all my Philip Lim pieces and I'm loving them all. Expect to see them again and again!

So I loved the animal print. Sue me! A little denim on denim to let it shine.

F21 top and jeans, Gap shoes, H&M necklace, PL for Target scarf

Steven for Steve Madden shoes

And then you know, added a heel.

So I may have been a little too into this orange leopard print!

Philip Lim X Target blouse, F21 shorts, Nine West shoes

Also might have had too much fun on the steps!

I then wore the blouse to work during the week. I just added black leggings and a tank

Wha Wha!!

2013-09-30T12:30:00.000-04:00

Soooooo summer is just gonna give up like that and let fall show up so hard?! Ugh!

A slightly chilly Tuesday.

Made In America

2013-09-27T12:30:00.000-04:00

Closed the summer out with a quick trip to Philly for the Made in America Music Festival. #FunTimes

Conway tee, F21 shorts, Nike SkyHi dunks

Totally forgot I owned these shorts, don't remember buying them in fact! But I did have to pop the tag off this summer to wear them.

The humidity was on like 1,000!! See the beads of sweat on my forehead! It was one of those moments where you're sweating but you're not moving. Gross.

Can we talk about this fan girl moment here!!! *Swoon* Michael B Jordan might be my new boyfriend.

I ended up getting this skirt in store in a smaller size than what I ordered online so I didn't have to wait for the mail man to deliver it! This was the piece I really wanted and I have so many ideas for it!

H&M sweater, Philip Lim for Target skirt, Nine West shoes

Kinda in love with these shoes. Several more colors have been added online, and I might have to get another pair!

The quality of the skirt is a lot better than I expected. It has a solid closure and the construction is great! Love the color, love the feel, love the fit, I think this skirt will be with for a long while.

Philip Lim for Target was the first time I committed to myself to participate in a collaboration collection. The hype usually turns me off but I thought "let's give it a go" for the experience of it all. With the help of my coworkers I was able to fully express my slightly obsessive tendencies. Look-book images were poured over several times while discussing outfits and possible quality issues. Links to Racked.com articles were sent via Gchat, strategies were discussed, shopping lists made, the whole nine!

Although I did most of my shopping online when the collection went live at 4am (cause I'm a night owl like that) I did still go into the store at 8am.

Here's the line I encountered. Not too bad but the racks were demolished once we made it inside! Most of the shopper were really nice though. There was a lot of trading and passing stuff off to other shoppers once people had a chance to really evaluate what they wanted. I did end up getting a smaller size in a skirt I ordered online.

Gap jacket and jeans, Brooks Brothers top, JCrew shoes

Comfort was the name of the dressing game for me that morning. I was working on little sleep but it was a fun experience.

This was my "I'm a kids model from the 90's" pose. #Cutie I like the peplum on this top, it's a whimsical version of a classic button up.

I'll be showing off my purchases in later posts. Stay tuned!

Fight Night

2013-09-18T12:30:00.000-04:00

I am not a sports girl at all. I would much rather spend the evening playing The Sims, but sometimes you have to drink the Kool-Aid. What I wore to a crowded bar to watch some men beat on each other for a couple hours.

Friends are the Family you choose

2013-09-16T12:30:00.000-04:00

Went home to go ole C Town for a much needed exscape. For a trip out to brunch with friends I went casual cool.

American Apparel top, Gap jeans, Steve Madden shoes, MCM bag

Brunch turned into shopping, which turned into a potluck and SUCH GOOD TIMES!!

I made the cabbage!

My something like a chef homie Alexis. Our meal slapped in large part thanks yo her. She made a cake and errrthing!

Love Love Love these women!

Dancing, cooking, eating, shopping, crying, gossiping, rejoicing, and endless laughs, it was so good for my soul to spend time with this amazing group of people who are kind enough to put up with me and call me friend. I'm a very lucky and thankful girl.

Yes Gawd!

2013-08-23T12:30:00.000-04:00

The sister is ON and SERVING! Get yo life, I got mine.

Am I the only one that kinda wants to cut her legs off and glue them to my body? First go round here.

Patched Up

2013-08-21T12:30:00.000-04:00

Jeans! I kinda hate them, and rarely wear them but sometime you have to drink the Kool-Aid. Zara sale scores.

Zara top and jeans, Nine West shoes

I'm thinking of cutting these jeans right at the ankle for that justAbit too short look with a little fraying. Haven't sold myself on the idea yet. If it goes wrong the jeans are ruined and I kinda like these.

Brooks Brothers necklace

This top is the cousin to the jacket in this post. It's a white tee with a twist and we know how I feel about white tees. I'm loving this trend and spotted a sweatshirt that would make this little family complete.

Peace oooooout

I'm Just a Girl

2013-08-19T12:30:00.000-04:00

One of the best things about being a girl in my opinion is a dress. They are just simply wonderful!

Zara dress, Nine West shoes

The ease of slipping on a dress is magical and theres a dress for every occasion. They can cover up fat days and flaunt skinny ones. Men love them, we feel good in them, simply magical! The sheer panels on the sides of this one made me happy. Sheer and flowy....

This is what you get when you have a "photo shoot" in the middle of Friday night antics. #Funtimes

Dear Jen again

2013-08-16T12:30:00.000-04:00

Cause Jenna is still getting dressed, and I'm still obsessed.

Here is the first go round of Jenna on TT

I Dream of Genie

2013-08-14T12:30:00.000-04:00

Did a different do. Thought I'd share. Please excuse my makeup less face it was early. I liked the levels moment it gave.

Am I the only one who loves genie pants?! They are seriously amazing. Is that their official name? Whatevs, they're lovely.

H&M top, Asos pants, Zara shoes

Usual deal, flats for work, heels for play. I felt very adult this day a little like Claire Huxtable if she were a natural.

Steve Madden shoes

My photog said "give me movement" this is what I did. HA! I'm no model.

*Waves Bye*

Told Ya

2013-08-12T12:30:00.000-04:00

I just mentioned I live for a sheer flowy moment and here's another! Out to celebrate a friends birthday I opted for flow. Bar food and drink always leaves me with a pot belly and dass not caute.

I also love a puss bow top and H&M served this up a year or so ago, and its been love since the day I brought her home. Speaking of, did you guys check out the new H&M online shop?! I never have to go in a store again!!

H&M leggins and top, Nine West sandals

Nine West will always hold a special place in my heart, as long as they continue to cater to my tiny feet. Snagged these on a 50% off sale! Sexy right!

Lady Friends and smiling faces always equal great times and cute pics!

Feeling Blue

2013-07-31T12:30:00.000-04:00

The color on this dress is kinda awesome no? It's also totally sheer and I live for a sheer, flowy moment.

To keep my lady bits covered I layered with a black tank dress, I think a white print would be kinda amaze in there too, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled. These are also my new favorite sunnies, can you tell? Ha! I'm a creature of comforts, they went in my bag and stayed there, I'll have to make sure I change it up next time.

H&M dress, Aldo shoes, RayBan sunnies

Pop

2013-07-29T12:30:00.000-04:00

Back before the NY summer turned melty I snapped these pics. I stand of a pop of color. I confessed before that although in my head I'm all patterns and quirky girl, in my real closet it's sooooo solids. Lol! Hey, I'm a work in progress.

Brooks Brothers top, Gap jeans, Nine West shoes

Suck The Head

2013-07-24T12:30:00.000-04:00

So what seems like years ago (ok back in June) I attended to the 5th Annual La Tex Suck The Head Crawfish Boil. It's one of thoses events where yeah there's food being served but we're not really here for that. Booze and music are a little more the focus, and me and my lady friends danced until heat stroke set in. Not really, but you know we danced a lot.

Summertime Fine in all it's glory!

Kept forgetting to have a friend be my photog so I snapped some bathroom selfies. That fro was at full fro capacity!

Asos top, F21 pants, Steven by Steve Madden shoes, MCM bag

I don't eeeeen know what this picture was about, but I love it!

Whoa. Hella Excited!

Das my Jam

2013-06-05T12:30:00.000-04:00

Ok, I've been lazy. This party happened a month ago but hey, who's counting. Below is a series I like to call "Taking a Selfie." We all do it I'm just the first to admit it. Your face never looks right the first time, or the second......or the seventh....

What to wear to a 90's party? Factor in being a shorty, natural blown out hair on humid/rainy day, and perpetual pile of dirty laundry and this is what you get!

Add favorite/handy jacket and go!

Target jacket, ASOS top, F21 skirt, American Apparel fanny pack, Jeffery Campbell shoes

In closing I'll leave you with "Mirror Pics, Sometimes with a Friend." Don't judge!
