Stem cell research Parkinsons disease is an exciting potential treatment for this illness. Parkinson’s disease occurs when nerve cells stop producing an important brain chemical called dopamine, after which the nervous system of the brain loses its ability to control muscle movements. Dopamine is normally responsible for transmitting signals to another part of the brain which controls muscle movement, without it the cells in this part of the brain will typically fire out of control. To attempt to tackle this for many years scientists have been conducting extensive stem cells research Parkinson disease.

Scientists are developing a new therapy based on stem cells. These are special type of cells that have the ability to divide indefinitely without losing their properties and may produce other specialized cells. At first it was thought that stem cells could only generate specialized cells of the same type. However it has been observed that they could generate others different from the originals. Thus neural stem cells of the spinal cord have produced various types of blood cells, causing various types of tissues (muscle, nerve, bone, etc.). For example, a wound healing is a new generation of some tissues where these cells are involved.

There is great controversy over the origin of these stem cells due to the fact that the embryos are typically four or five days old or from some more developed embryonic organs. They are also in the umbilical cord blood.

In the peripheral blood (which circulates throughout the body). These cells are called adult stem cells.

Scientists also get normal cells and reprogram them into stem cells.

The facility that stem cells can have is to be attached to existing tissues and cells and then replacing damaged ones, in theory in various diseases such as Alzheimer’s, sclerosis, spinal injuries and Parkinson’s disease disorder among others. The advantage is that if these cells are from the same patient there would be no rejection. The sources for these cells have been divided into two:

In early human embryos. Which many are morally objective in working with.

In cells from different tissues of an adult, such as subcutaneous fat which can be used to promote tissue healing in certain diseases. The great advantages of adult stem cells are their wide availability and the absence of moral conflict when working with them.

As yet stem cells are in the experimental stages but are beginning to take the first steps in clinical trials in human volunteers. For now, they raise a great hope, especially in chronic diseases or those who suffer from tissue destruction. Some of the possibilities under consideration are: diabetes, myocardial infarction, liver diseases, muscle diseases and Parkinson’s obviously. Stem cell research Parkinson disease, an alternative free of medications that focuses on physiological changes induced in the brain would improve the quality of life of patients. In a pilot study, over 90% of Parkinson’s patients treated with stem cells reported to made improvements. Most Parkinson’s patients are treated by lumbar puncture by injecting stem cells into the spinal fluid that transports them through the spinal canal to the brain. However, there also is a new stem cell research Parkinsons disease procedure in which stem cells are surgically implanted directly into the brain and bond with existing cells. Let’s hope this doesn’t prove to be a false dawn and in a few years helps Parkinson’s sufferers.

Parkinson’s Disease is a movement disorder that was first described by Dr. James Parkinson in England in 1817 who first noted the symptoms of Parkinsons. The disease occurs most often after 50 years of age and is one of the most common neurological disorders in the elderly. It can sometimes occur in young adults but is rarely seen in children. It affects both men and women. In some cases, the disease is hereditary. When a young person is affected, it is usually due to being a hereditary disease. This illness has no miracle cures but for sufferers there are many ways to deal with the symptoms of Parkinsons disease. In addition to medicines you can follow different types of physical therapy.

Typically, because there are cases with atypical symptoms, the tremor appears on a limb when at rest, for example, in the hand while the arm is resting on the table. The stiffness is manifested by difficulties in performing movements with the usual speed. The patient can also present an obstacle to move with the scope and speed typical of a normal mobility. Patients in the early stages of Parkinson frequently report that they experience sleepiness and hallucinations. Of the three cardinal signs, the tremor is obvious to anyone who observes, the stiffness is a phenomenon that the doctor can diagnose and the slowness in movements is a disorder that frustrates and restricts the victim. Patients also use hands in a puzzled manner, the face can be impassive with a weak voice that is frequently inaudible. In addition, this akinesia may occur more sharply and unexpectedly one day. When this occurs the patient is pinned to the ground struggling to take a step and unable to articulate. The disorder may affect one or both sides. The magnitude of functional loss may vary. Symptoms include:

• Automatic movements (such as blinking) slow or stop
• Constipation
• Difficulty swallowing
• Impaired balance
• Lack of facial expression
• Muscle aches and pains
• Problems with movement

• Tense (often beginning in the legs)
• Shaking, tremors
• Talk more quiet and slow, and monotonous voice
• Stooped posture

Click to Buy The Best Ebook To Find Out Symptoms & Most Effective Treatments!

Other symptoms:
• Anxiety, stress and tension
• Confusion
• Dementia
• Depression
• Fainting
• Memory loss
• Oily skin (seborrhea)

With regards diagnosis, the doctor will do certain tests and physical exams to rule out other disorders that cause similar symptoms. Moving on to the issue of treatment of Parkinsons there is no known cure for this disease and the goal of treatment is to simply control symptoms.

Medications control symptoms primarily by increasing dopamine levels in the brain. At certain times during the day, the beneficial effects of drugs often disappear and the symptoms may return. Your doctor may need to change:
• The type of medication
• Dosage
• The amount of time between doses
• The way to take medications

Work closely with physicians and therapists to adjust the treatment program. Never change or stop taking any medication without talking to your doctor first. Don’t let the symptoms of Parkinsons disease lead your life and affect your daily tasks, be the leader and attack it.

When talking about Parkinsons disease facts, it is important to get all the information possible to know how to tackle it. Parkinson’s is a disease of the nervous system that evolves in a slow and progressive condition caused by a small group of brain cells that control movement. Often classified as a movement disorder, Parkinson’s disease also triggers alterations in cognitive function in the expression of emotion and autonomic function. This disease represents the second neurodegenerative disorder due to their frequency, ranking only behind Alzheimer’s disease. It is widespread worldwide, affecting both men and women. It often appears from the sixth decade of ones life. However, there is another variety of this disease which is manifested in those younger than forty.

Anxiety disorder is a blanket term covering several different forms of abnormal, pathological anxiety, fears, phobias and it describes nervous system disorders as irrational or illogical worry not based on fact. Anxiety and fear are normal emotions but the terms have specific scientific meanings and common usage has made them interchangeable. Fear is defined as emotional and physiological response to a recognized external threat. Anxiety is an unpleasant emotional state, the sources of which are less easily identified. It is often accompanied by physiological symptoms which can lead to fatigue or even exhaustion.

Because fear of recognized threats causes mental changes and similar unpleasant symptoms, patients sometimes use the fear and anxiety of the terms interchangeably. Anxiety can be accompanied by headache, sweating, palpitations, and hypertension. It is important to note that a patient with an anxiety disorder often exhibit symptoms of clinical depression and vice versa. Rarely a patient who only exhibit one symptom will be diagnosed with the disease. Often Parkinson patients have more than two symptoms. Diagnosis of it is based on the detection of the characteristic triad of rigidity, slowness and tremor in the absence of atypical symptoms, but it’s also important to exclude other possible disorders by brain imaging or blood analytical testing. It is important to note that so far the medical science has failed to find a definitive method to cure the disease, but truth is that through drug treatment and even surgery can alleviate some of the most troubling symptoms.

In 1997, the World Health Organization stated that April 11th would be held on World Parkinson’s Day, with the aim of increasing awareness of the needs of people suffering from this ailment. This was the date chosen to coincide with the emergence of James Parkinson, the British doctor who first described the “shaking palsy”, a term that he coined. There is a lot to do for the persons who suffer from this condition. When diagnosed, the patient just has to deal with the Parkinsons disease facts that it has no cure and neither a certain way to prevent it. So people just have to look for orientation and support to help those with the condition. In America there are institutions specially orientated to help those in need and their families also need a lot of support.

A person with signs of Parkinson’s disease shows difficulties in coordination and unfortunately the disease worsens over time. The disease is caused by problems in brain nerve cells responsible for controlling the movement of muscles. Nerve cells that produce a chemical called dopamine usually send signals that help coordinate their movements. Dying cells do not function properly.

People with a type of sleep disorder that makes them kick or scream when asleep may be at increased risk of developing diseases such as dementia or Parkinson’s. This is according to a study released by the digital version of the journal Neurology, focused on the so-called problem sleep behaviour, which can be an early signs of Parkinson’s disease. People with this condition do not experience the lack of muscle tone that normally occurs when sleeping. Excessive muscle activity, which translates into gestures such as punching, kicking and screaming, which essentially represent their dreams is one of the most common signs. On the other hand clinically significant numbers of sleep disorder patients develop signs of Parkinsons like rigidity. A doctor can diagnose a person with Parkinson’s disease based on the patient’s symptoms and medical history. There is no blood test or any x-rays that can show if a person has Parkinson’s disease. However, some types of x-rays can help your doctor make sure nothing else is causing your symptoms. If symptoms go away or get better when the medication called Levodopa is taken, it is quite certain that he or she has Parkinson’s disease.

Comprehensive treatment of Parkinson’s involves the participation of an interdisciplinary team of specialists, neurologists and in addition includes a psychologist, a gastroenterologist, an internist, a nutritionist, a physiotherapist and a speech therapist amongst others. This can be assessed on factors ranging from the patient’s psychological state, through its ability to take medicines, to the way you structure your exercise routine and diet and if they additionally have diabetes or hypertension. Although there is still no cure for Parkinson’s disease, the available treatments in the marketplace provide excellent relief of symptoms. Levodopa is the most important medicine for replenishing the amount of dopamine in the brain that is deficient.

There are also medications that attempt to enhance the action of dopamine (tolcapone, entacapone) or similarly (bromocriptine, and ropinirole praximepexol).

Some patients may require surgery in the brain when drugs are no longer sufficient to control symptoms of this disease. The following are highly recommended practices for all Parkinson’s sufferers:

Physical activity, either through home exercise or a physical therapy program is the best complement to the treatment of this disease.

Strict compliance in taking medications at the time indicated by the physician and not unreasonably making any variation on the given schedule. Avoid using other medicines to those indicated.

Visit your doctor regularly. You may need to modify your treatment based on results.

Stay active. Go on with your everyday activities at home or work. In addition consider taking up new skills such as gardening, animal husbandry, carpentry, dance, etc.

Consult a doctor at the slightest doubt or signs and symptoms of Parkinsons.

Avoid using medications that contain cinnarizine, flunarizine and metoclopramide.

Having highlighted the signs of Parkinson’s disease it is important to pay attention to these and seek medical attention as soon as possible. Click To Get The Best-Selling Parkinson’s Disease Ebook Today!

For sufferers one of the main questions they want to know is “What is the cause of Parkinson’s disease”? Well, Parkinson’s Disease is a very common disease affecting 2-3 of every 1,000 people, and develops further from the age of 50, affecting equally men and women. Parkinson’s disease is a chronic neurological process whose causes are Progressive alteration in the nigra substance of the mid-brain (basal ganglia and the extrapyramidal area). These areas are nerve control and to coordinate movement zones. The decrease in brain dopamine (which is a neurotransmitter substance that transmits nerve impulses to other cells) seriously affects victims and is a primary element in the cause of Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s disease is a chronic neurological process but whose causes are certainly unknown pointing out as a possible risk factor:

Alteration in the nigra substance of the midbrain (basal ganglia and the extrapyramidal area).

Decreased brain dopamine. Dopamine as mentioned is a neurotransmitter substance that transmits movement signals to other cells.

The diagnosis can be made in those individuals who have at least 2 of the follow cardinal signs:

Resting tremor.

Muscle stiffness.

Slowness of voluntary movements.

Loss of postural reflexes.

The resting tremor is present in 85% of cases of Parkinson’s. The lack of facial expression, decreased blinking and movement of arms while walking, rounds the clinical picture. The cause of this disease is rather complex. Multiple pathogenic hypotheses have emerged. Among the causes informed are those involving the toxic and the genetic factors and it appears that stress worsens the condition. They have recognized that some cases are genetic where the patients parents were afflicted with the disease and may pass it on to their children. In addition, a variety of medical conditions and certain medications can contribute to the development of Parkinson’s disease. According to the individual patient history the doctor may prescribe one of several medical and surgical treatments that are available, and will also emphasize the importance of a continued commitment to regular exercise, rest and adequate diet.

For the patient with Parkinson’s exercise is extremely important. Recent research shows that it can help people suffering from this illness in the flexibility and improve their posture and general movement.

Eat well, Parkinson patients are at greater risk of malnutrition and should therefore pay special attention to diet. They may feel better protected from nutrition-related diseases and prevent hospitalization.

The dialogue with the doctor will keep you informed on the best and most appropriate treatments.

Click To Get The Best-Selling Parkinson’s Disease Ebook Today!

Medical research has given us many drugs that when used alone, or more often in right combinations, can significantly alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The intelligent use of these drugs can improve the quality of life in patients. Taking time to rest is extremely important because sleep plays a fundamental role in maintaining mental health and performance in all humans, increasing the need to rest is important in these patients in order to increase energy levels to operate at its maximum capacity. Although the cause of Parkinson’s may be uncertain due to treatment and there being no cure, special care will recover the stability of the patient achieving a better quality of life.
