Anyone headed to Goresbridge Go For Gold Horse Trials February 24-26? If so, look out for Tredstep Ireland’s Managing Director Aidan Keogh on Master Tredstep! Foaled in 2002 Aidan found Master Tredstep from Paddy Hughes of Carlingford Horses. Master Tredstep is a foal of Sire Kings Master and Dam Tinahely Star. He showed in his first International in 2008 and is continuing on a successful path. Good luck to Aidan and Master Tredstep!

Tredstep Makeover Winner!

This January, in celebration of our new Renaissance Collection, we held a ‘Win a Tredstep Makeover’ Competition, and finally with great pleasure we announce that Maggie Hitron is the winner! She will receive a complete Tredstep makeover including a pair of DaVinci or Donatello field boots, a pair of paddock boots, chaps, gloves, and socks of her choice. In 2011 now proudly launched our Renaissance collection. This collection comprises the Da Vinci Long Leather Boot, The Donatello Field Boot and the Giotto Paddock Boot. Each of these incorporates the ground breaking technology of the Pro Flex design. Pro Flex is a simple but ingenious flexion point on the boot which allows immediate full flexion of the ankle without the need to break in the boot. This collection proved to be an instant hit. Indeed Lauren Shannon put a pair of the boots on for the first time 40 minutes before her Badminton Dressage test, and competed the whole weekend wearing the boots. It was thanks to the great new design of the boot that she was able to do this.

We are very excited about 2012 with a new boot being added to the collection and the new Custom Fit gaiter hitting the stores.

Quixotic at Badminton 2011

After a busy and extremely successful eventing season, Lauren was looking forward to a well earned rest. However with the best of intentions for taking a break, this has not proved the case for Lauren. All the eventers have had a short break, and are slowly coming back into work. Zero Flight, Lauren’s Burghley horse, is now hacking and will start some serious schooling at the end of November in preparation for Badminton in the late spring 2012. Lauren is not just busy with the event horses. She is now focusing on her sale horses, schooling them and taking them Autumn hunting. She also spends lots of time teaching during the winter.

Exciting news from Shannon Eventing is that Quixotic is in foal. Quixotic is maiden mare and was still 4* fit when she was sent away to stud. It took all summer for her to become pregnant. Different stallions and frozen semen were tried, but nothing seemed to work. So, as it was getting late in the year, one last attempt was made to put the mare in foal. They put her to Cevin Z from the Billy Stud and she took first time, it was meant to be……

Not only is Lauren busy with the horses, she has turned her hand to a bit of commentating! She has recently done some work with Ed Holloway. They covered the CCI2** class at Osberton for Sky Sports 3 and 4 and also Horse and Country. Lauren was recently interviewed by the Eventing Radio Show, which covers the eventing world and broadcasts worldwide. Not only is she a fantastic rider, it looks like Lauren is natural behind a microphone!

Facebook K9 Competition

We are now into the final leg of the Tredstep K9 competition. The winner the will receive a fabulous pair of Tredstep Deluxe Half chaps. All that you have to do is go onto our Facebook page, post a picture of your dog and get all your friends to like it. The winner will be the picture with the most likes.

If you want some laughs there are loads of brilliant photos on our wall all the dogs are so gorgeous, go on and like your favourite one.

The competition closes on Wednesday 2^nd November at 2pm and the current leader is Remi Farina with 155 likes, followed by Kate Taylor with 87 likes and in third position is Ashlee Ralph.

Tredstep Training Day At Robinsons Headquarters and Ashton Mega Store

Tredstep had a great day out in Lancashire visiting the Robinsons Headquarters and the Ashton Mega Store. We held three training sessions for all members of the Contact Centre team and the staff on the shop floor so they will have great product knowledge when you next contact them with a query. We were told that the new Renaissance collection is very popular and that fitting the boots on customers is just a pleasure as they fit so neatly and look amazing. Most customers who are fitted with a pair of the boots will buy them as they are so comfortable and look very good.

Robinsons headquarter are based in the North West with stores in Ashton, Cannock, Basingstoke, and Cardiff. This is a far cry from where they first started in 1867 when James Robinson opened a small saddlery next to the North Western Railway Station in Wallgate, Wigan. Now they are one of largest UK equestrian companies, that not only have four stores, they also run a very successful website and mail order business.

Anna and Hero Show jump at HOYS

Tredstep rider Anna Wilks enjoyed her annual visit to HOYS on the amazing jumping machine Moonbeg Hero. Anna and Hero had qualified to jump in the Foxhunter 1.25m track on the first day at HOYS. Hero was in great form when they arrived. Fortunately the NEC is not too far from Anna’s home in Oxfordshire, and they were able to get there in a couple of hours. Arriving in time Anna checked Hero and then went on to walk the course; a good up to height track that certainly got the adrenalin pumping. Hero jumped round beautifully but unfortunately picked up 4 faults after rattling a pole. Alas that was not the only bit of bad luck the pair had. That day their numerical skills were not at their best and they missed fence 11!!!!!! Poor old Anna, it can happen to the best of us. This elimination however must not over shadow her spectacular achievement in qualifying and jumping at HOYS at 15 years of age and for two consecutive years.

What a HOYS for Tredstep Rider Jayne Webber and Comberton Clancy, crowned Supreme Horse of the Year!

As always the year’s hard work culminates in one show, the Horse of the Year Show held at the NEC in Birmingham. It sees the best horses and riders from around the country competing under one roof. The world class jumping attracts a lot of competition from overseas riders.

For Jayne Webber and her team, the season spent competing at the county shows has earned her plenty of HOYS tickets. This year at HOYS Jayne has been true to form and has had some fantastic results. Darcy Bustle and Fait Accobli both gave a pleasing ride in the Lightweight cob, whilst Saintsaire was 8^th in the Racehorse to Riding Horse class. The Humdinger was in great form winning the CHAPS Champion title. However it was the riding horses in particular who shone for Jayne. Berkley Square was placed 2^nd in the small riding horse, but Comberton Clancy was Champion in the riding horse category and then went on to scoop the Supreme Horse of the Year. This was absolutely fantastic and a great reward to all the team that have worked hard, and simply a marvellous ending to a long season that has required dedication from start to finish.

We are proud of Jayne as one of our Tredstep riders and delighted for her in achieving such wonderful results.

Jayne Webber and Comberton Clancy have been noted as Horse and Hounds one to watch in the riding horse class at Horse of the Year show 2011

Comberton Clancy was bred by Peter and Sally Hobbs, and exploded on the showing scene at the BSHA Southern Spring Show in March. Comberton Clancy has been hailed by Supreme judges as the next Philanderer – Jayne’s incredibly successful riding horse in 2010 scooping the supreme title at both HOYS and the Royal International.

Comberton Clancy has notched up some very impressive titles including the Supreme Horse honours at Hickstead, at Addington he was Supreme on the first night at the BSHA National Chapmpionships.

The pressure is now mounting for Clancy, and providing he stays calm and copes with the exciting atmosphere HOYS always provides there is nothing him to stop him going right to the top!
