The Host: Mick “Slatz” Slattery of Surf for Sanity or SFS (squared). SFS (squared) is all about the freedom that surfing gives you. It has been somewhat of a formula for 4 mates for over 15 years, where we could just jump in the car, strap some boards to the roof, $10 in our pockets and just wing it the whole way up the coast, surfing, skating, and sleeping under the stars. The Price: Total Workshop price is calculated as $400 + $50/foot

What’s included: One of Rich’s design templates, all the wood that you’ll need (sustainably harvested Paulownia and cedar), a rocker table, all tools (but participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have them), glues, and fasteners.

What’s NOT included: Food (bring your own or get locally), lodging (see above), fiber-glassing, & fins (I will advise on fins and fin placement and you may use excess wood for shaping fins, but fins are not technically included)

The Host: The host for this workshop is professional woodworker/boatbuilder and surfer, Paul Reisberg. You can check out his boatbuilding, sailing, and sailing blog here.  Paul will be your point of contact and can advise you with local knowledge such as lodging (if neccessary),  directions, parking, restaurants, and secret spots. The Price: Total Workshop price is calculated as £250+32/foot

What’s included: One of Rich’s design templates (or custom designs are available for $50 arranged ahead of time), pre-cut internal frames, all the wood that you’ll need (sustainably harvested Paulownia and cedar), a rocker table, all tools (but participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have them), glues, and fasteners, finboxes and board vents.

What’s NOT included: Food (bring your own or get locally), lodging (see above), epoxy fiberglassing, & fins (I assume you’ll be glassing on your fins, and can advise on fins and fin placement. The idea is that this is a STRIP & FEATHER WORKSHOP. That means I’ll teach all about the method and walk you through the entire Strip & Feather part. The parts that are not unique to the method (i.e sanding, glassing, and fin installment are technically no different than any other method so are not included). This workshop focuses on the Strip & Feather method that you’ll not get anywhere else than a T2S workshop. You may use excess wood for shaping fins, but fins are not technically included)

I looked at those frames and said; “It is good.” But instead of seven days, we took three. And instead of it All, we created ten.

On the first day we drank Epoxy & Red Bull shots. On the second, we created dust. And from those vast clouds, on the third day, the sun emerged, so we rested. With the power invested in us by our gracious hosts (and an awesome table saw) we pulled it off.

To the disciples, Paul, Sarah, Roland, Florian, Kjell, David, Mitch, Tom, Chris, and Andrew, I say well done. And to Father Hesbrunt and Mother Lynn, I extend the highest debt and gratitude. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!
