I will concede that the Government created the vehicles for this dilemma. But aren’t we responsible for our own actions. We as a people are to quick to jump on every type of Gov. help that becomes available. If we just stop and think of the long term consequences to these actions. A large number of programs designed in the name of providing homeownership for the lower income, are really just entitlements and a way to secure re-election votes for politicians. In the end We The People end up paying the bill.

I had a happy birthday and happy Thanksgiving call from my Brother Walter yesterday. He is in New Orleans working as an Insurance Adjuster on the Katrina mess. Walt was working for FEMA and was one of the first to respond after the storm. After several months there an insurance underwriter offered him a better deal to work for them and he is still there and his wife Reba is also there doing the same thing. Walt has relayed a torrent of horror stories of the waste that is going on. For the people in Ward 9 that are fixing their homes the Government is paying the bill to raise the foundations four feet. Now these same homes were in ten to 14 feet of water. The levies have been repaired to withstand a Category 4. Storm; what will happen when New Orleans has a Category 5. or stronger storm?

For all that are following the mistakes made by the UN, and the mistakes WE as a Nation make following the whims of the UN‘s Global agenda; for example the High Seas Treaty that other nations have signed; which would undermine the sovereignty of the USA; I leave you with another quote.

“But if we are to be told by a foreign Power... what we shall do, and what we shall not do, we have Independence yet to seek, and have contended hitherto for very little.” —George Washington

Offering Homeowner Assistance Program

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Are Consumers the Solution for the Sub-Prime dilemma?
In the business world supply and demand is what rules; when demand is greater than supply the equity of the product, service etc. increases. When the supply is greater than the demand the price decreases.

Using this analogy in relation the down-turn in the real estate nation wide; which has been blamed on the mass marketing of sub-prime loans. Mortgage consumers should shy away from any form of sub-prime lending.

The market will take care of it’s self (self adjust). In other words when there is no demand for loans that are adjusted to make qualifying easier, but make a hardship on the buyer in 2, 3 or 4 years down the road because the payments are raised. When the number of consumers that can not buy because of not being able to qualify for fixed rate mortgages increases interest rates will come down.
Sub-Prime loans are quick fixes that we as consumers pay dearly for. They are designed to help “First Time Buyers”, Minorities” and other targeted groups. These loans are abused and used by buyers that buy more than they can afford; not starter homes but upper middle class homes.

Let’s face the facts. The Lenders want to lend money and the Government wants to lend money. When the demand decreases the cost to barrow will go down and the supply will increase.

The above is an over simplified projection. There other factors that determine the cost of borrowing money.

Money is traded just like commodities such as corn, heating oil etc. The housing market is just one factor, but a major one. Energy industry and the automobile industry are both very large forces that influence the economy, And therefore have an influence on the cost of borrowing money.

Comments welcome

Larry Wittenbron

Tall Tree Realty

Tall Tree Realty Joining with W R Starkey

Tall Tree Realty Joining with WR Starkey Announces W R Starkey’s Friends and Family Program

We believe most mortgage companies lose site of what is important, and that is YOU!

What is W R Starkey Mortgage’s Friends and Family Program?

W R Starkey Pledges an unwavering commitment to customer service.
