Sandy Hook Shooter Adam Lanza Had No Drugs, Alcohol In System:

Last week it was leaked by an anonymous official attached to the Sandy Hook investigation that Adam Lanza’s toxicology report did not turn up any illegal or prescription drugs in his system. As I’ve posted before usually charlatans and quacks come out after a school shooting and are quick to blame anti-depressants as the real motive behind these kinds of shootings. Dealing with them is kind of like dealing with conspiracy theorists. If the suspect was on anti-depressants the shooting was caused by the meds. If the shooter wasn’t on any meds then the shooting must have happened because he went off his meds. Why can’t it just ever be that he was a crazy bastard?

It’s no secret that I am a firm advocate of medical science and anti-depressants. As I’ve said numerous times an anti-depressant basically turned my life around. Have I had a bad reaction to some? Yes, I have. Unfortunately finding the right one can be a trial and error kind of process. However when I did have a bad reaction the only person I wanted to hurt was myself. If, and that’s a mighty big if, a prescription medication causes someone to murder it’s more than likely that person had murderous intentions to begin with.

As far as I’m concerned the people who blame these things on anti-depressants are on the same level of people who believe vaccines cause autism. Both are misinformed and are wallowing in their ignorance.

Terry Hobbs

Terry Hobbs Breaks His Silence:

As most of you know Terry Hobbs was the step-father of Stevie Branch. Stevie was one of the three little boys who were murdered 20 years ago by the so-called West Memphis 3. For a number of years now Terry Hobbs has been the virtual bogeyman of the West Memphis 3 supporters, ever since the supposed DNA evidence has been made public.

Roughly near the 20th anniversary of the killings Hobbs spoke to WREG in Memphis to give his side of the story. I implore you to watch the video or read the article at the attached link, I could never do it enough justice. However Mr. Hobbs rightly sums up what the West Memphis 3 movement has always been about….

But Hobbs says Hicks, as well Byers, are wrapped-up in a story that’s turned into an industry, “To me, they`ve all tried to capitalize and they have turned our tragedy into a money making business .”

He says that business, and Hollywood hype, has set the real killers free, “Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols and Jessie Misskelley. I believe that with everything inside of me.”

Hobbs says he hopes the three eventually tell the truth one day and apologize, but until then Hobbs says he has to live with the story that many people believe.

A story that is false but one that the West Memphis 3 supporters cling on to in the name of their outcast profit….I mean prophet.

Mack and Onysko

Human trafficking charges: Jeremy Mack, Ashley Onysk accused of forcing teens to have sex for money:

Teenage girls were “virtual prisoners” in Elyria house; man charged with forcing victims into drugs, prostitution:

The people with the oh so classy tattoos up there are 37-year-old Jeremy Mack of Elyria, Ohio and 23-year-old Ashley Onysko of Avon Lake, Ohio. The pair are facing federal charges of human trafficking after being arrested in April in Elyria. One of the girls they allegedly turned out was a 16-year-old girl. Police say that Mack would get the girls and women hooked on drugs then make them work as prostitutes to pay off their drug debts. A 19-year-old said that she witnessed Mack choking and assaulting some of his victims. None of the victims were allowed to leave the house, had their cell phones taken away and were routinely strip searched when drugs went missing. Like Ohio needs anymore houses where women are being held captive. Onysko was allegedly the one who would recruit their victims. The victims were being advertised on both craigslist (hey, didn’t they clean that up?) and Backpage.

The hobbyists, aka johns, would have you believe that prostitution is a rainbow and unicorn filled word rife with consenting adults. In a harsh reality consent is more the exception than the rule.

This past week Linux Mint released their release candidate of Linux Mint 15 in both MATE and Cinnamon versions. I tried both versions in the live environment. MATE gives you more of the traditional Linux Mint feel and style but I absolutely feel in love with the more modern feel and design of the Cinnamon version so I will be focusing on that in my review.

Without hyperbole I can say that this is the best version of Linux Mint yet. Granted it’s the RC but with the detail that Linux Mint gives its distros there usually isn’t that great a change between the RC and the final release. Most of the improvements in my opinion come from the Cinnamon desktop. It’s been quite some time since I last tried it. I think it was Linux Mint 13 when I last used it. Since then it has vastly improved as a desktop. I only have some minor complaints about it. The first is that the sound app did not recognize Audacious when it comes to skipping tracks and such. Supposedly this is a fix for that but it didn’t work for me. The second minor complaint is that I found it better to install the Cinnamon apps by directly downloading them from the website and placing the folders in the usr/share/cinnamon/applets folder as root then installing them directly from the panel. Lastly even though Cinnamon has a great number of awesome and eye-catching themes I can’t seem to get rid of that hideous shade of green that Mint uses as a default. Also Cinnamon does not have a wallpaper changer like XFCE does but I was able to easily remedy this by installing Wallch through the Software Center In their defense though the Cinnamon/Mint developers have even said that Cinnamon is still young and still a work in progress.

So is Mint 15 my favorite Linux distro of all time? No, but it comes very close.

My new favorite Linux distro is one not a lot of people may have heard of. It’s a French distro called Voyager. Say what you will about the French, and I have, they are very embracing of the open source community and have created a top-notch distro.

Voyager 13.04 is based on Xubuntu 13.04 except it surpasses it in every way. Voyager comes with some of the most breathtaking wallpaper I have seen in a distro and with the XFCE desktop it can change through them as often or as little as you want. Voyager also comes pre-loaded with a lot of useful software and in my opinion none of it its bloatware.

Now I feel in love with Voyager when 12.04 came out because at the time they were using the AWN dock. Since the AWN dock has been abandoned they use the native XFCE dock however I have replaced that with the Cairo dock. That’s just my own personal preference.

Speaking of the wallpapers I had a problem with the wallpaper staying the way I wanted it. Every time I would restart the computer it would revert to the default desktop but I did figure out a solution to the problem. Voyager uses Conky which is a system monitor but it can also control your desktops. So what I did was right clicked on the desktop, clicked Voyager Wall, selected Bureau 1 from the radio menu, then the XFCE desktop preferences came up. This then applied the permanent changes to desktop 1. You can do it for all 4 desktops but I only ever use one.

Other than that minor glitch Voyager is the perfect Linux distro for me with Linux Mint 15 a very close 2nd. Both get the Trench Reynolds seal of approval. *bark bark*

Nicholas Longo

Oregon man faces rape charge in Idaho:

First I’d like to commend KTVB in Idaho for actually using the word rape in their story. Too many media outlets are replacing the word rape with terms like ‘had sex’. It’s good to see at least one media outlet telling it like it is.

Anyway police in Oregon have arrested 20-year-old Nicholas Longo of Brookings, Oregon on charges that he allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl from Boise that he met on social network site MeetMe.

Police say that Longo lived in Idaho at the time of the rape in March and invited the girl to a party after meeting her on MeetMe. The victim says that Longo raped her at the party while Longo says that the sex was consensual. Never mind the fact that under Idaho law no one under the age of 18 can legally consent to sex. So consensual or not it’s still rape under the eyes of the law.

Police also say that Longo moved to Oregon shortly after the rape took place. That’s not suspicious at all.

Now cue all his loser friends and pedo-defenders who will more than likely blame the victims.

My advice to parents is keep your kids off of MeetMe, formerly known as MyYearbook. I hate to use an old joke but it really should be called MeatMe because it really is nothing more than a hook up site.

Joseph Sivonda

Serial rape suspect taken into custody:

Accused serial rapist captured in Gwinnett County:

After being on the run for a week police in Gwinnett County, Georgia arrested 23-year-old Joseph Tyler Sivonda on rape charges. Police believe that Sivonda would order a prostitute off of Backpage and when they showed up to his apartment complex he would force them into a vacated apartment at gunpoint and rape them. Five victims have come forward but police say there may be more. However for someone who police believe is a serial rapist he’s only being held on $2400 bond. He should be held on at least a six figure bond. Anybody could post the bond that he got and he could be out at anytime looking for more victims.

Also this is yet another problem that Backpage has a hand in yet doesn’t do anything about as long as the money keeps coming in. They don’t care how many women and girls are raped, trafficked or killed.

‘Deleted’ Snapchat photos saved in phone data, can be examined as evidence:

You’ve seen me post about Snapchat before, it’s the smart phone app that is supposed to delete any picture you send tyo another user after ten seconds. Except according to a company by the name of Decipher Forensics the pictures aren’t deleted at all> As a matter of fact the Utah based company says that the pictures are saved to the phone itself.

“There’s a folder called RECEIVED_IMAGES_SNAPS,” forensics examiner Richard Hickman explained, pointing at his computer screen. “And here they are.”

The reason the photos don’t vanish appears to be due to the way the makers of Snapchat designed the program. Hickman said that rather than have the program delete the files, it affixes the file extension “.NOMEDIA.”

That extension makes the pictures unviewable to most people, but Hickman said forensics experts have the capability to simply take the files out of the phone and change the .NOMEDIA extension. The pictures are then viewable once again.

Anyway if you or your kids have sent any picture through Snapchat, whether the picture is appropriate or not, it’s still out there and it’s only a matter of time before someone comes out with an app that recovers the pictures. And as you should know by now once a picture hits the internet it’s out there forever.

UPDATE: Snapchat responded by saying “We’re really not paying much attention to it.”

Chico woman escapes Craigslist kidnapper:

Police in Glencoe, California recently arrested one Jason Tony Bays of Placerville, California on kidnapping charges. Reports say that Bays met a 26-year-old woman from Chico, California on craigslist and took her back to his home. When she tried to leave he allegedly told her she could not and choked her. The woman escaped when Bays took her to a job site in Glencoe. She managed to convince him that she needed to use the bathroom and went into a nearby post office and had employees contact 911.

Even though the woman was said to have communicated with Bays for a month before meeting him face to face this should serve as yet another warning as why you should not meet anyone from craigslist. There are just an inordinate amount of predators and psychos that use the site to find their victims and craigslist is unwilling to do anything about it.

Nahshon Kornegay

Nahshon Kornegay sentenced to 10 years for pimping in Rockville:

Nahshon Kornegay of District Heights, Maryland was recently sentenced to 10 1/2 years for prostituting two women in Rockville, Maryland. He had advertised them on Backpage of course.

Kornegay was convicted back in January and argued that the women chose to work for him and that there are no victims even though Kornegay used threats of violence to keep the women working for him. Thankfully the judge and jury disagreed. As a matter of fact the prosecution stated that Kornegay continued to prostitute women even from behind bars including the mother of his child. Stay classy.

Which just goes to show you that these pimps and traffickers obviously only care about making the money under any means necessary. Much like Backpage itself for allowing these ads for sexual slavery to continue.
