THE BOOK OF ACTS 2: A THEMATIC STUDY ON THE APOSTOLIC OUTPOURING OF THE SPIRIT

Good evening folks. Sorry for my long necessary absence. I'm back now!

The books of Acts 2 is probably the most pragmatic part of the scripture. A lot of opinionative views have emerged(doesn't suffice to say all are true) but we listen that we may increase in knowledge as is expected of us as believers.

Acts 2 talks about the events preceding the outpouring of the spirit, the actual outpouring of the Spirit and the events following the outpouring of the Spirit.

Acts 2:4-6 KJV
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
[6] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Wow! they also Spoke in Comprehensible languages!

This inadvertently means that if they Spoke in tongues they also interpreted. This was PROPHECY!

Acts 2:11-13 KJV
Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
[12] And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
They prophesied about the works of God!
But hey! A handful were actually confused. See their expression
[13] Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

There had to be an explanation. These guys weren't comprehending what they were seeing. Its seemed like a pogrom-a show!

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15] For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
[16] But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
[18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
[19] And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
[20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

This was Chronicled in Peter's Epic response in verse 21

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Peter was Preaching the Gospel already!

That was in fact the reason for the outpouring of the Holy Ghost

For the Prosperity of the Gospel!

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now SEE and HEAR!

This Gospel was Practical!

Practicality of the Gospel produces results.

Now when they heard this , they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

They were set to receive the Gospel!

The Holy Ghost convicts the Sinner to receive the Word when it is preached!

If the Gospel you are hearing isn't changing you. It's one of two things. Either you're not hearing it or it's not the gospel!

Believers have a duty to the Gospel which they have believed and received. This is explained in Paul's letter to the Corinthians

2 Corinthians 5:18
And all things are of God who has reconciled us unto himself and given unto us the Ministry of RECONCILIATION!

Also Colossians 4:17
And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast recieved in the Lord that thou fulfil

Paul also collectiely admonishes the Corinthians again
2 Corinthians 4:1
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have receieved mercy, we faint not

THE BELIEVER HAS A MINISTRY! ONE THAT MUST BE FULFILLED!

Take heed to the Ministry which you have also received of the Lord and fulfill it

THE MYSTERY CALLED SALVATION 1

The subject of salvation is one which when preached should generate a euphoria of acceptance. This is because it is an inheritance. We are inheritors of the promise of God through Abraham. We inheritance Salvation by the Sacrifice of the man Jesus Christ and the promise of God to the man Abraham

Let's see Paul's admonishment to the Galatians

Galatian 3:18
"For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of prom ise: but God gave it to Abraham by Promise

This substantiates two iconic points

The Promise was independent of the law
The promise was a product of it's bequeathing to Abraham

This Abraham and indeed the patriachs believed upon by faith but expected with Hope.
It thus suffices to say that they didn't receive the promise practically but expected it by faith.

Now let's see what Peter tells us about these promises

1 Peter 1:4
"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust"

Peter indeed explains the fact that the promises are the gateway to being a perfect part of the divine nature. This is is explained by Man's salvation from the corruption that is in the world through lust fashioned according to the desires of the old man that was indeed saved.

This explains it then!

Salvation is translation into a new nature! It's not a refurbishment.
People have a strong issue with this because they are too engrossed in the psychology of carnality and Human wisdom.

Never apply logic to scriptures! The scriptures are Spiritual not LOGICAL!!!!!!

They are not supposed to make SENSE. They are created for ESSENCE!! Essence of the Spiritual man 2 TIM 3:16

I'll be expounding more practical principles of this great and mysterious gift called salvation in my next article. I implore you to keep up to date with these series.

It is quite unbelievable that the most used, most talked about and still yet the most misunderstood three lettered word is SEX. Infact sex is the most popular articulation of letters, but still the most secretive.

You would be shocked to realize that over 70% of what you hear or say about sex are all lies.....yap,totally untrue. Infact if there was one singular area that our parents failed us the most, then it has to be in the area of sex.Our parent left us to the mercy of junks, lies, superstitions and fables about sex. When it comes to the issue of sex, our parents became deaf and dumb.

Daddy, pls what is sex?, common shut up, how old are you that you want to begin to talk about sex. If the fifteen year old daughter presses further inquisitively, the next thing the Dad would say is this.....well, all I know is that sex is not good......infact don't let any boy touch you oooo. OMG,did I just hear you say sex is not good, infact I can tell you emphatically that sex is more than good.

My pastor says that sex is sin, ......for where, that's a lie from the devil. Infact my pastor says sex is of the devil, oops, nothing has ever come from the devil except deceit, because it is GOD himself who made sex.Yes I said, it is GOD who made sex, and HE made sex to be so sweet, infact to be sweeter than honey. Sex is a product of GOD'S thinking and imagination. Remember, all that GOD made is good, since it is GOD that made sex, then it is good....But I have never come across this in my bible before..........it's there, I can bet you have come across it more than a thousand and one times, but you closed your eyes to it.

Some years back, a friend of mine who probably would be in his teens told me something that would make anybody's heart wanna jump out through the mouth. He said, do I know that the forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve ate that made GOD to send them out of the garden of Eden was "sex"....You can only imagine the way I reacted, I screamed on top of my voice... See, this was a young man, who even though had been a Christian for years had no basic understanding of the word sex...Many are we like this young man, moving about with a myopic understanding of everything that concerns sex.Infact for many of us sex has become synonymous with sin....It's not true, sex is no sin.

In our places of worship we permit the pastor to talk about every other topic ranging from repentance to salvation, faith to eternity, this to that, but we never permit any discussion on sex.Infact if your pastor utters the word sex by mistake, the whole congregation is so quick to remind him that you are still in church and that the church is no place to talk about sex.Can I tell you this, there is no better place to talk about sex than in the church.You see, the devil is really capitalizing on this our ignorance to misinform us and re-orientate us into believing that one of GOD'S very best creation is bad.Infact the church is failing in it responsibility of informing the crowd of youth about sex, and these youth are at the mercy of their goons at school or other places.

Sex is one thing that defiles human imagination and comprehension, we seem not to be able to grasp the magnitude of it just enough. The thought of it alone makes all the blood in your veins and arteries to make a u-turn and go straight up to fill the spongy tissues in your underpants faculty, your heart begins to beat faster than normal, your head stand up straight and you can't just think normal again.Infact, I can bet your mind is flooded with thought of sex already, right?

Sex is still one mystery that the human mind is yet to unravel, it defiles human laws, analysis, explanation, theories and infatuations. Do you realize that GOD had allowed Adam to complete his mission of naming all of GOD'S creation before presenting him Eve...see, if it had been the other way round, it would have been a total catastrophy..... Adam would have been so engrossed in the euphoria of love that he would have totally forgotten the mission before even getting started.Can I tell you a lie, the very first thing that Adam's mind was exposed to after that long sleep was the nakedness of a woman.Why are we all searching for what is not lost, why on earth do you think you are always bombarded with the thought of uncladed lady or guy all the time, you don't seem to be able to live a day without thinking of sex.Common, you are a sexual being, you are created in sexes(male and female)..... Unlike poles attracts, says physics.
Again, remember that it was after a very long sleep, you would imagine that his mind had already gone blank.OMG, an empty mind now exposed to a full picture of a naked woman....hulala, u can't beat that.Infact as am writing this, it just came to my realization that at birth , the first thing that our mind got exposed to was the picture of nakedness, except probably you dropped from heaven or didn't pass through normal delivery...... I really got to be real with you.

I can imagine that you are like, at last I can just go on to begin to explore the world of sex, after all GOD made it, na free ticket be dis ooo, all the girls in my hostel, eti daran. Not so fast buddy, I need to tell you this last thing before you go, probably to make your adventure more spicier.
Do you know that there has never been one singular tool that the devil has used to destroy mankind than the three lettered word "SEX".Ask brother Samson, David and Reuben what destroyed them.Nothing has ever brought much destruction on mankind than sex.Reuben lost his first-born privileges because he could not control his sexual urge, David destroyed his family because he could not control is underpants faculty, Samson, the man who could not be tied by rope got tied up with sex......Sex has destroyed mighty destinies...... Do you want to be the next ?.....Your future is just too precious than 5 minutes of sex.

How then can we make sex to remain only a tool of enjoyment and not a tool of self and generational destruction. Very simple, yap, infact you only need a theologian to make it complex for you.
Just don't do sex unless you are married and only with one with whom you are married to....infinito, no more, no less. Sex can only remain sweet, sweeter than honey, only within a marriage setting.
Don't lick up the honey while you are yet to arrive at the moon......just wait for your honeymoon!!!!!!!!!!!

The pain of the present are reminisces of unsolved problems of the past- Agagwu Tochukwu

I see a lot of outcry on the media on the issue of the Chibok ladies but a certain reaction is conspicuously missing. The reaction of the parents of these ladies. I thought deeply about this. Could it be that these parents have given into fate's debacle by accepting this imposed heartache? Could it also be that their cries are secretly stored away in the jars of pain, anguish and disappointment. Finally, could it also be the tears of these pawns of fate are being bought at a price by powers that be? Where these ladies actually kidnapped?

It's intriguing as well as saddening that over 500 days after the future is our great nation was cupped by the harbingers of Violence, terror and pain by desecration of its young, no end seems in sight of this unending dramatic episode. The issue of terror as it stands presently is a threat to global advancement. Development is never achieved in an unsettled environment plagued by uncertainty. Everyone seems to have tired out of this purported wild goose chase. The womenfolk and human rights organisations alike all seem to be keeping mum over this issue as intricate its nature is.

Nigeria and indeed Africa has a variety of "carpet issues". We are fond of sweeping probable under the carpet till it's stench desecrates the very environment of peace and stability we fight and campaign for. Why is No one talking indeed? I ask rhetorically not as though I expect a response but to elicit a reaction. The world powers have lent a voice in Michelle Obama. The women have voiced out through the various women groups. Let the frill of faithlessness never grip the struggle for the truth. The Government must account for the girls. They were in school and on government property. Nigerians must account for them. They are citizens and we owe them the duty of protecting them. The world must account for them. They are the future.

Procrastination is the most probable factor attributed to the misuse of time and the obvious misplacement of priorities and opportunities. I define procrastination as a thief of time, a murderer of opportunities and an assassin of dreams and goals.

Many people procrastinate either because they are too blind to see the gold in the opportunity or too scared to open the box or too complacent to ascend to a higher pedestal than their current level of expertise or experience.

The clarity of a purposeful and impactful vision makes it fun and exciting to follow up. Procrastination kills visions faster than lack of focus because procrastination works on the deficit of time. Time is the currency successful individuals trade for opportunities.

You see, in life, there are just two kinds of people in relativity with the concept of time management. There are the

· Shareholders and

· Major stakeholders

The shareholders are the ones who do not utilize the full extent of the

86400 seconds each day in their lives for maximum improvement. They have a daily record of living but not achieving.

The major stakeholders are the little fraction of people who actually invest 86400 seconds each day into bringing out the best in themselves by achieving constantly. They have a day to day record of living by achieving

Procrastination isn’t per se a problem of an individual’s misusage of time or an individual’s desecration of the sanctity of time.

Procrastination is a primarily priority problem. A clash of conflicting interests create a cloud of confusion around a susceptible individual’s mind. This makes prioritization difficult. This is where such an individual complains of dilemma-a clash of conflicting interests with seemingly similar outcomes!

To get out of a procrastinative state, Do the following:

· Set a clear goal-One that’s both terrifying and exciting! Like Brian Tracy said in his famous book, THE POWER OF SELF CONFIDENCE, “there are no unrealistic goals, just unrealistic timelines”

· Get writing! Get a notepad, a jotter or some paper to scribble down those beautiful goals. Remember, goals in writing are dreams with deadlines

· Prioritize with precision

· Determine to follow up on your priorities. Match your desires with a passionate appeal to achieving them.

· Set long term goals with short term assessment. Never leave your goals unattended to.

It’s hugely important we follow up on our goals and commitments. The only way we can give life to our goals is by believing in the viability of the goal not the circumstance surrounding them.

THE ENEMY CALLED COMPLACENCY 1

In my study of the habits and attitudes of highly effective people in 2015, I found out that each of them avoided the comfort zone. This is the major distinguishing factor between highly effective and less effective people. Highly effective people believe they are “constant improvements”. Less effective individuals are “passive improvements”. Highly effective people constantly search out diligently, ways and methods by which they can be “additives” to the process of advancements in their lives, families, societies and organizations. In Napoleon Hill’s famous book “Think and Grow Rich”, he wrote that one of the characteristics of the most successful men and women in America is that they always look for the opportunity or benefit within every obstacle or setback. In a well researched study on why people seem to postpone a business meeting or a rendezvous with a client, I found out the major force at play here was the placement of priorities. People will bank more on a priority that assures them of an enormous reward of fulfillment on investment of energy, time and resources.

TODAY'S TAKEOUT:

COMPLACENCY ISN'T BEING ALRIGHT WITH WHERE YOU ARE. COMPLACENCY IS REMAINING STUCK ON A MINDSET THAT IS ULTRASONICALLY REDUCING YOUR PRODUCTIVITY.

Complacent people never get the best out of life because they never get the best out of their situation. They always fail to prioritize their goals appropriately.

To get out of your complacency zone, try the following:

· Know what you really deserve

· Decipher your wants

· Avoid procrastination like a plague

· Examine your current situation and improve on the shortfalls in your career, family or personal life.

· Prioritize your Goals above incidents.

· Determine to follow up on your rearranged priorities

Have some climbing faith. Change isn’t always easy. It’s getting yourself out of a system that’s gradually eroding your life into one that will most definitely benefit it. The transition isn’t always a piece of cake!

KNOWING WHAT YOU REALLY DESERVE

“Through desire, a man having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom” Prov 18:1

The first step in knowing what you truly deserve is a strong and passionate conviction to truly discover yourself- your strengths, passion and weaknesses. Discovering yourself gives you a sense of precision, focus and dynamism. You begin to have a renewed sense of something to live for; a strong dynamism and resolute resiliency to champion the cause of a beautiful life.

The second step is separating yourself from the cloud of undermining, negated thoughts and the atmosphere of mediocrity. The bulk of problems human beings face today are as a result of what I term the “consequential influence syndrome”-a massive buildup of problems stemming from the consequences of negative influences.

People with CIS often believe they do not deserve anything from life because all they have been told are things they cannot do! This has effected a terminal resistance in the ability of their minds to accept the positive and access the imperative.

DECIPHERING YOUR WANTS

While it is extensively true that most of our wants aren’t exactly as pressing as our dire needs, the achievement or fulfillment of our wants are capable of bringing us a certain degree of personal satisfaction and happiness.

To decipher your wants, you need to navigate out of the fog of your mind. This fog exists because you have never ventured beyond your current status- financially, spiritually et al. This fog consists primarily of fear and doubt elements. You cannot successfully decipher a situation beclouded with fear and doubts. The mind is a like a susceptible virgin that takes in all its fed without a filter! The onus then rests on you to keep and save the mind from being raped by the forces that try to limit human ability by regulating the quality of thoughts you allow to bud in your mind.

You are also going to have to tell yourself some serious truths. These truths are going to be answers to questions bordering around your happiness. Questions like what am I willing to go the extra mile for? Are they impactful and inspiring? Can I sustain a readily active thought pattern centered about them?

Wisdom teacher, Mike Murdock once said “you have no right to anything you have not pursued”. The momentum we build on the different ventures that border on our happiness and satisfaction should center on the viability of their achievement in our minds first. If you can’t conquer your mind to believe it, your mind will conquer you into conceding it!

A major problem plaguing the entire world today is the clarity of desires. A people without a conviction are a people void of intentions. A lot of people do not know exactly for sure what they want for themselves. They strive for a cause without a reason. Winners don’t just set goals; they generate an impact for a greater good.

Great Mohandas Gandhi in a letter to his grandson Arun Gandhi stated what he termed as the “7 social sins”. These were

Wealth without work

Pleasure without conscience

Knowledge without character

Commerce without morality

Science without humanity

Worship without sacrifice

Politics without principle

It’s an extreme anomaly to desire a definite height without a defined and proportionate reason. A lot of young adults in Africa exhibit a tendency of being or wanting something devoid of a reason and a plan.

The truth about desire is there is always a prerogative; either tenable or inexplicable. Isaac Newton’s First Law of Motion states that “A body continues in its state of rest or uniform motion unless acted upon by an external force”. He called it the Law of inertia. Inertia is a term used to describe unwillingness to take action.

Complacency is the appropriate term used to describe human unwillingness to take precise actions due to the favourable atmosphere of their present level. Human beings are puppets of reason. Reason is the process of thought transformation into action with the primary gratification of a subject focus.

The first step to actually knowing what we want is knowing exactly what we deserve. Self discovery makes us aware of the depths of character we possess and the correct attitude towards taking precise steps in the actualization of our different goals and objectives. If I’m aware that I deserve the best in life, all my thoughts and actions will be directed precisely towards helping me achieve the primary objective.

Thoughts are creative but self discovery and mastery helps organize and orientate these thoughts into basic fundamental life principles and precepts. Remember, everyone is gifted. It takes discipline to nurture your gift and experience to master it

FACTS AND TRUTHS PART 1

Human existence has for been long plagued with the burden of discernment between belief and persistence; an attitude of segregation between facts and truths. Figments appeared over the years in ancient History that changed the course and destiny of time, culture and indeed people- either temporarily or for all eternity.

The advent of Chemical laws by scientists like Robert Boyle and Charles, The propounding of theories of Gravity by Sir Isaac Newton in 1633, The advent of Christianity by Jesus around 4 BC. We are where we are today either as a rhapsody of facts or as serenades of the truth. The truth is a larger and deeper part of a story which may consist of a fact.

The truth is not just an object and integral component of integrity. It is the propensity behind sustained belief and a persistent attitude. The Fact is the shallow part of an issue exposing more of mediocrity and from a less critical standpoint with obviously agreeable and realistic figures. Facts win arguments but Truths rectify problems. This is an integral secret in the success stories of most successful American Entrepreneurs. They found a way to deal with certain truths about their careers, bringing them into consonance with their daily lives, boosting their goal-getting mechanism and thus translating them into enigmatic personalities with enormous prestige.

The Mind is the seat of Human intelligence. The stronghold of all our emotions, dreams, fear, faith, hopes. All of these have their root and process platform as the mind. Your pensive moods, happy turnouts, mood swings, peaceful attitude, reserved mentality are all "Potential detectors". It's a natural human antecedent to celebrate milestones and successful turnouts of either our goals, ambition or aspirations. It's also been medically proven by a study that chemical stimulants called "Endorphins" are released by the brain which causes an "unusual feeling of ecstasy and happiness relieving anxiety". Endorphins are released when there's a stimulation by the brain caused by an external factor usually one provoking ecstasy.

The Mind is a very attractive, receptive, accurately interpretative and potent device for measuring your potential activation. The Mind generates signals (Feelings and Emotions) that indicate either a point where improvement is key or where diversification is a better option.

Emotions don't just arise. They are instigated by certain factors- insecurity, ineffectiveness, high confidence, low self esteem etc. Tracing the real root of your emotions directs you to a point where you focus energy on the improving certain aspects of your life. Don't ignore how you feel.

Fixing your life and analysis of potential values and character start from an effective interpretation of your emotions and feelings.

Your mind is a device not an organ. It's a device of a larger mechanism which is YOU!

FROM MY DESK: When Potentials Are Insufficient- The "Hows" and "Whys"

The World has a rich heritage of tracing successes in business, sales or personal development to an atom of potential in the individuals involved. There's been a lot of research made on this topic and recent findings have proven the viability and authenticity of this claim.

What then is the problem with unsuccessful people or people who seem "Potentio-deficient"?

In my words, I define potentials as" an Inert mechanism or mechanised system present in the psychological characteristics of Human beings". This subject has been largely misunderstood by a large percentage of the human race. Some people think potentials are a destination that must be "reached", others think potentials are the patented property of an elite few. I define Potential as a Mechanism in the human mind fully coordinated and wired with a potentiometer!

In Physics, we are taught of the existence of two kinds of energy which are

1. Potential Energy
2. Kinetic Energy

A body with potential energy is referred to as a body in a state of "rest and unmoved" while on the other hand, Kinetic energy is defined as the energy possessed by a body in constant motion". These are quite paradoxically linked by one Word - MOTION!

Every potential is in its resting stage until there's a disturbance of that rest. Disturbances could result either from a realisation of your potentials or a low potentiometric reading- A need to become something better than what you are. Potentials need an activation to realise full value. Potentials demand an awakening to function optimally. This is the missing link between successful and highly effective people and ineffective and burdensome individuals!

Successful individuals realise they have potentials and actually activate them to elicit a measure of happiness and fulfilment in their lives. This is what unsuccessful people fail to do. Ignorance or laxity is a huge factor among these individuals.

NASS-LASU ORGANISES ORIENTATION EVENT FOR SCIENCE STUDENTS

March 10th, 11th and 12th will remain indelible in the minds and hearts of students of the Faculty of Science of the Lagos State University, Ojo. It was the day the student-governing body of the Faculty set out to honour its new intakes and indeed the it's entire students.

The Epoch-making event was kicked off by a Symposium held at the MBA Hall of the Lagos State University. The event had in attendance representatives from both the private and public sector and stakeholders in the health and education sectors. The event was targeted at enlightening the minds of the students and encouraging healthy and happy lifestyles amongst the populace even on campus. Highlights of the occasion were blood donations and health talks in which the students actively participated in.

The 11th of March witnessed the Sport events of the Faculty. Sporting activities were on a high as students displayed their dexterity in sporting events ranging from Track to field Sports. It was a marvel to watch the Freshers take in the Staylites in the football event. Sports is a common language spoken and understood by all and this was a highly welcome initiative also to draw attention of the students to the development of a healthy lifestyle through exercise.

The Orientation programme was crowned of with a visit by the Students to the Whispering palms at Badagry area of Lagos State, Nigeria. This was a deviation from the normal practice of winding up orientation activities at Suntan beach also in Badagry by previous administrations of NASS-LASU. The students had fun playing in the pool, learning about the slave trade and viewing antiquities used during the trying times and also partying too-all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy right?

The National Association of Science Students, Lagos State University chapter (NASS-LASU) is comprised of the following members of its executive committee

I am not a motivational Speaker but I believe it's the duty of mankind to develop itself in what ever morph it chooses to. I choose literature. Pls read carefully and I stand to be corrected if I dit the wrong lines also. Human beings are very interesting creatures. Human beings including yourself are inherently laden with a lot of abstract constrictions and tendencies - Powers that can birth tyranny, Salvation, Greed, Greatness, even death! Of all these, human beings are blessed with one supreme authority-a rare kind of power. I call this the Universal Genome of Existence but you can call it the Power of Choice. Choice is a fundamental and intrinsic component of all human behavioural patterns-Socially, morally, intellectually e.t.c. This means every act of human expression is a function of choice either deliberate or indeliberate. We have a choice over the kind of things to believe and the kind of thoughts to digest. We're who we make of ourselves through our choices. Thoughts don't just perch on our minds. They are figments of either our fiercest, strongest or solemn emotions. These translate in our attitudes towards life and how we relate to issues concerning our existence. We choose to allow these thoughts either for us to harness the positive effects of its playback or for us to enjoy the mental picture - at least while it lasts!

I have a few prepared nuggets on the Attitude of choices and how to make good ones to live and enjoy life just the way you intend to

1. Focus on your happiness. If people need to be Happy, they'll learn from your life

2. Analyse your wants and needs. Correlate them with available opportunities and Prioritise very well

3. Be passionate about what you do, you can't make a wise choice on a dilapidated and disenfranchised cargo. Love is paramount

4. Maintain an attitude of taking charge of your life. Forgive yourself for the wrong choices you've made and learn from the mistakes of yesterday

5. Be precise about your life. Distortion creates room for confusion. Be clear

I believe we should create a life we can enjoy not one we'll endure and it all starts with a choice. Make that choice today and determine to be that happy and Excellent personality you were cut out for.

Evoque.

With its signature body shape, lights and radiator grill and
silver logo across the front edge of its bonnet, it was the
spitting image of the British bestseller.

But in fact, it was a brazen copy of the hugely popular UK-
designed ‘baby’ off-roader – and a fraction of the price.

DANGEROUS KISS: How over 80 million bacteria are transferred through kissing

A single 10-second kiss can transfer as many as
80 million bacteria, according to Dutch scientists.
They monitored the kissing behaviour of 21 couples and
found those who kissed nine times a day were most likely to
share salivary bugs.

Studies suggest the mouth is home to more than 700 different
types of bacteria - but the report reveals some are
exchanged more easily than others.
The research is published in the journal Microbiome.
Locked lips

A team from the Netherlands Organisation for Applied
Scientific Research (TNO) asked 21 couples a series of
questions to assess their kissing habits, including how
frequently they had kissed in the last year and when they last
locked lips.
Scientists took bacterial samples from the volunteers'
tongues and saliva before and after a strictly timed 10-
second kiss.
One member of the couple then drank a probiotic drink,
containing an easily identifiable mixture of bugs.

On the couple's second kiss, scientists were able to detect
the volume of bacteria transferred to the other partner - on
average 80 million bacteria in a single 10-second kiss.
But while bacteria in the saliva seemed to change quickly in
response to a kiss, bug populations on the tongue remained
more stable.

museum of microbes

Prof Remco Kort, who led the research, said: "French kissing
is a great example of exposure to a gigantic number of
bacteria in a short time.

"But only some bacteria transferred from a kiss seemed to
take hold on the tongue.
"Further research should look at the properties of the
bacteria and the tongue that contribute to this sticking power.
"These types of investigations may help us design future
bacterial therapies and help people with troublesome
bacterial problems."
Microbial museum

The Dutch scientists worked in collaboration with the
museum Micropia, the world's first museum of microbes,
based in Amsterdam.
In a newly opened exhibition, couples are invited to share a
kiss and are provided with an instant analysis of the bugs
they have exchanged.

A growing number of researchers are looking at the
microbiome - an ecosystem of some 100 trillion micro-
organisms that live in and on our bodies.
Scientists say these populations may be essential for health
and the prevention of disease.
