Today I went to Uijeongbu.
Joo's (주) parents have previously invited over so they could buy me food and show me around some of the places that foreigners might not be able to go to as easily as Koreans.
Now that we're on holiday, his dad finally had a day off, which meant I could visit.
Joo picked me up at the station and then we walked to his home where I got to meet both of his parents and Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-82219608398748979112019-08-29T13:06:00.000+02:002019-09-13T10:54:58.027+02:00Ewha Exchange D2 - Welcoming ceremony | Housing orientation | Buddy group
Welcome back to another post about yet another busy day.
For our second day here at Ewha, we had the big welcoming ceremony!
I was dressed cute and comfortably for what was going to be an active day. And I'd spent time in the morning fixing my hair so it'd look nice and all but that was ruined by the rain.
You see, until today, the weather had been HOT HOT HOT with around 35°C every day. But Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-10324060597402075312019-08-28T05:08:00.000+02:002019-09-13T10:12:12.663+02:00Ewha Exchange D1 - Moving into the dorm | Make-up class | Uijeongbu (의정부)
Hello and welcome back!
It's been a while since my last post and I apologize for that.
Today will be the first post of many about my life as an exchange student in Seoul, South Korea.
I've previously studied a semester at Yonsei University and now I'm back in Korea to spend a semester at Ewha Woman's University.
During my last exchange, I wrote entries about my Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-84354415692105312262019-08-03T21:30:00.001+02:002019-08-12T10:15:44.359+02:00My previous Korea trip

It's been a while since my last personal post so let's start off with an update on my exchange.
While looking through the checklist on Ewha's online portal, I realized that my insurance policy was written in Danish - not in English (or Korean) as Ewha had asked of us. So I messaged the insurance company and exactly 1 hour later they responded with an English version + additional notes Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-84240071620508179102019-07-21T15:23:00.002+02:002019-07-21T15:24:46.917+02:00Venice 6|6
Our last day in Venice was very short. Our flight was in the early afternoon so we had to take the water bus back to the airport around 11.00.
Having already packed the night before, all we had to do was to get ready before going out for breakfast. We ate at a café not far from our apartment.
We ordered the last two.. wraps? with ham and smoked ham. Of course Jasmin had her morning coffee asLucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-62600768413385469952019-07-21T14:56:00.001+02:002019-07-21T15:23:53.783+02:00Venice 5|6
Here's to our last full day in Venice!
I don't have too many stories from today so I hope you'll enjoy the pictures instead.
Our day started with a late breakfast at a café overlooking a small square not far from our apartment. This time we made sure to ask about any hidden service/table fees and luckily there were none.
We opted for something to share so we could buy more food Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-44444400489354669742019-07-17T17:00:00.001+02:002019-07-21T14:57:54.481+02:00Venice 4|6
Welcome to another and much shorter post about our Venice trip!
For our 4th day in Venice together, we had decided to go to the beach. According to what I'd read online, Alessandro, and our host, Lido di Venezia (Venice Lido) was the place to go. Lido is yet another island outside the main part of Venice and it's the only place with cars(!)
We'd actually planned to go in the morning, around Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-82423953911785810342019-07-15T23:03:00.003+02:002019-07-21T12:22:40.144+02:00Venice 3|6
Hello and welcome back!
This is Venice day 3 and today we went island hopping!
Jasmin found a good deal for us online where we could get tickets to go on a SEVEN HOUR LONG trip to Murano, Burano, and Torcello - 3 big islands located outside the main part of Venice.
The trip started at 9.30 in front of the station where we were first picked up by a small bus boat and brought to Piazza Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-13764043004970213632019-07-12T17:16:00.001+02:002019-07-21T14:45:52.076+02:00Venice 2|6
It is time for the second post about our trip to Venice!
It was a pretty active day so buckle up because we took a LOT of pictures.
The morning started out pretty slow, however. I hadn't slept too well because of the new environment and we took our sweet time getting ready before heading out.
My straightener also died after I'd done only half of my hair so I had to come up with an emergency Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-35932700345510537742019-07-08T15:56:00.000+02:002019-07-21T16:46:35.936+02:00Venice 1|6
Hey and welcome back!
I hope you've all been well while I was away for vacation.
My sudden trip was actually due to my friend Jasmin's mom getting sick (don't worry, it's nothing serious). Jasmin and her mom had originally planned a week long trip for the two of them to Venice but when her mom suddenly got sick, Jasmin invited me to go instead of her mom.
I originally declined since the Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-72687532307667044032019-06-26T21:00:00.000+02:002019-07-21T16:51:18.560+02:00I'm going to Venice!
This is a heads up that I'm going on a slightly spontaneous trip to Venice tomorrow with my friend Jasmin.

On the 16th it was my birthday and we had a small party.
Last year I spent my birthday in Korea with Jasmin and some friends from the hostel I was staying at.
I have some good stories from that day that I want to blog about but let's save that for later. What's important now is just that
my birthday this year was spent at home and that I was excited about it.
It was a chill day. MyLucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-62824264531682052662019-06-15T02:00:00.001+02:002019-07-12T20:30:52.535+02:00Couch potato week

If you think I've been productive since my last post, you are completely wrong!
Rather, I've spent the past week mostly relaxing.
Since my birthday is coming up (June 16th), my grandparents hosted a small birthday "party" with my siblings and I, my sister's boyfriend, and my dad and his wife + their two dogs.
We had my favorite cake and grandma's homemade buns.

Helloooo!
My exams are finished and now summer vacation has begun! Wuuuh!
I took a few pictures during the period I was "away" from my blog and I wanted to share them. If not for entertainment, then at least for memories' sake.
Overall this exam period was pretty good.
After making my last post, I had some very productive days. During the days I studied hard and if I grew Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-53181928522061825542019-05-21T15:59:00.001+02:002019-05-21T15:59:18.369+02:00I'll be back!
This is a heads up that there will be no activity on my blog again before June 4ᵗʰ.
Both of my finals are on the same day this semester.
My first is a written exam in Videnskabsteori (scientific theory) that I'll be spending a week writing from May 27ᵗʰ to June 4ᵗʰ.
My second final is an oral Korean one in the morning of June 4ᵗʰ.
I'll have to prepare for my oral exam before Lucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710361626020155796.post-64389818679875311032019-05-21T15:34:00.001+02:002019-06-05T22:40:57.982+02:00J-Popcon 2019

This past weekend I attended J-Popcon!
It's been a while since I last talked about cosplay and cons on this blog so I'll give a quick explanation.
J-Popcon is one of the two biggest anime conventions in Denmark and it is held once a year. Since 2015 my friends and I have been involved in the maid café at J-Popcon and have worked our way up. Since I've had such a busy weekend (which I'm also about to blog about), this post about my last two weeks of the semester is going to be pretty short'ish.
Now that the finals are coming up, I'm glad I was able to spend time with some friends and family before cutting the world off in favor of studying.

No rant today. Wuu!
My week started out pretty ..hard.
On Monday we took turns talking to our teacher about how to present the articles we had chosen. Like I wrote in my last post, I'd chosen to talk about the ongoing Burning Sun scandal. Our teacher had asked us to think about WHY we'd chosen the article we were going to present and also the focal point.

This week was hard and I'm going to rant.
Wednesday was my first day back in school. It was the class on scientific theory and everything about it just felt useless and boring. After 2.5 hours or not understanding anything that was being taught, I thought about leaving early to catch the early train and be home 1 hour earlier than usual. But I decided against it. Tomorrow my classes will begin again so today I'm treasuring the last moments of freedom by blogging about how I spent the remaining days of Easter break.
I have a couple of thoughts to share as well but I'll save those for the next post and focus on pictures today.

Before understanding the concept of time, I remember asking my parents when it was my birthday. "You have to sleep 5 more times," my mom told me once.
And then it felt like FOREVER until it was finally the day.
Similarly, when I got older and we drove to Italy for vacation, the trip down to Italy lasted half an eternity while the trip home felt much shorter.

Today's post is on the Nordic Korean Studies Days that I talked about in my last post!
The 'event' was pretty intense and it'd be way too much to blog about so I'm just going to do some commentaries on the pictures and videos I took.
Behold! The schedule!
Each day there were talks and seminars. During the talks, the professors would hold presentations and as for the seminarsLucy Harthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15478250764496467558noreply@blogger.com0
