Illinois Cat Bite Lawyers

2010-11-29T11:26:00.000-08:00

$500 off Panasonic 42" Class 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV with iPod Dock $799.99 on sale 12/8-12/9
$40 off Samsung Bluray Disc Player Wi-Fi Ready/Internet Connectable BD-C5500 only $139.99 12/8-12/9
$60 off Nikon L110/26194 Coolpix 12.1MP 15X Optical Zoom Digital Camera $219.99 on sale 12/8-12/9

If you have been bitten or scratched by a cat, you may not consider filing a lawsuit, at first. However, cat bites and scratches can actually result in major health problems. Domestic cats are typically vaccinated but a bite or scratch can still cause serious infection that could require hospitalization and IV antibiotics or nerve or tendon damage that could require surgery and physical therapy.

The first thing you should do if you are bitten or scratched by a cat is seek medical treatment, even if it doesn't appear to be serious. If the cat bite or scratch results in a serious medical condition, you may want to file a lawsuit to compensate you for your medical expenses or other costs, such as lost wages. The Illinois Animal Control Act, which applies not only to dogs and cats but all animals, states that victims of such animal-related injuries may collect damages if you prove four things. They are:

1. That you are suing the right person - in other words, the cat is owned by the defendant. Cats, dogs and all pets are considered property.
2. That you didn't provoke the attack by teasing or instigating the cat.
3. That you were conducting yourself in a peaceable manner - again, not provoking the cat.
4. That you had a right to be at the place where the injury occurred - you weren't trespassing when the attack occurred.

So, in Illinois, you don't have to prove that the owner of the cat was negligent or at fault in any way. You also don't have to show that the cat had previously exhibited aggressive tendencies, had bitten or scratched in the past. Rather, you only need to prove the above elements in order to recover full damages for your injury. It is understandable that you may be apprehensive about suing your friend or neighbor. However, keep in mind that most property insurance covers this type of liability. That means you will be dealing primarily with your friend or neighbor's insurance company and not directly with the individual.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you consider hiring an attorney who has experience in these types of cases. You do not want to deal with an insurance company on your own. An experienced attorney will have the expertise to handle negotiations with the insurance company and ensure that you are compensated fairly for your injuries - mental, physical and financial. If you are concerned about the cost of an attorney, note that most personal injury attorneys take cases on a contingency basis, meaning you pay nothing if you get nothing. If you do, however, recover an award or settlement, your attorney is paid from that amount.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Party Guide

2010-11-20T08:13:00.000-08:00

Wacth Video

Harry Potter has been bewitching children and adults alike for several years now. His courageous friends and malicious enemies have us all emotionally invested in his quest for good. If you've been searching for a fun Halloween theme or a birthday idea Harry Potter and his friends could be the perfect fit you've been looking for. Below are tips and suggestions to pull off not only the best Harry Potter party, but the best party you've ever thrown.
Decorations - Don't let this party stress you out, it should be one of the easiest parts. Take a trip to your local party store for inspiration and browse through the different items they have. If you're on a tight budget you'll be able to get great inspiration and create something similar for a much better price. If your budget is a little flexible you'll be able to get centerpieces, table covers, ceiling and wall decorations and ever tableware for the event. Making wands out of tree limbs and letting the kids paint them is great way for them to get involved with the decorating process. You could also let them make their own wizard hats as well with plenty of glitter, sequins and markers. Involving the guests in every aspect as much as possible is key for their enjoyment.
Food - Some may argue this is the most important part of the party. I don't know if it's most important, but it is one of the most fun ways of incorporating the Harry Potter theme. Here are a few recipes I've tried in the past and they 've worked out great.
Serious Black Cakes
1 Box of Dark Chocolate Cake mix of your choice.
Mini Cupcake Molds
2 Cans of White Frosting
Food coloring and any other cupcake decorations
Bake the cupcakes ahead of time and make sure they have plenty of time to cool. Try and find some fun Harry Potter baking cups. Set out your array of decorations on the table as well as different colors of frosting. Let the kids have fun decorating their own cupcakes. Have some pre-decorated cupcakes in the middle of the table so the kids will have some inspiration.
Norberts Snot
This simple recipe is a great way for the kids to enjoy some kool-aid with a twist. I've made it two ways and either way is great.
All you'll need is some koolaid and dry ice. Serve them in a cauldron or a large gold goblet. The other way I serve it is with soda and green sherbet. The kids seem to enjoy the floating snot like ice cream.
Anyway you choose to incorporate the theme into the food will make the party a bigger hit with children.
Games - I always struggle with this portion. I want to play games that the kids haven't played before and that will keep their attention. Harry Potter is a great theme to incorporate into games. Here are a few I've tried with success.
Spell Bound
This game is a great way for the kids to explore their creativity and make up fun words. Show a clip from one of the movies, I like one of the early ones when they are learning spells. Then help prompt them to come up with their own spells and powers. They can use their magic wands to cast spells at each other.
Sorting Hat
Kids love traditional games of tag and I like reinventing them. Find an old hat that looks similar to the sorting hat and have the kids sit under it. Pretend like the sorting hat is dividing the kids up and throw your own magic twist on it. Once the kids have been sorted let the games begin. You could have a relay where they had to cast spells to get around objects or a game of freeze tag using their created spells.
I hope some of these ideas will help you when creating your Harry Potter themed party. Above anything else make sure everyone has a good time including yourself.

If you are ready to start brain storming for your very own Harry Potter party visit this online party store. You'll be able to start generating ideas and might even find something you like.

Apple Ipad Review

2010-11-19T21:24:00.000-08:00

The long awaited Apple tablet has finally been revealed. Steve Jobs pulled the wraps off on January 27th in a tense morning for Apple and tech fans all over the world. Now with the specifications and information out there it's time to preview the iPad and its potential.

First of all the design is pretty spectacular. The front is dominated by the large 9.7" LCD Led lit display that without a doubt will look great. Just below the screen you get the iPhone home button that allows you to go back to the beginning at all times. One less pretty feature for me are the black borders around the screen. They are a bit too wide for my taste, it would've been better if Apple was able to stretch the display a little and remove the borders. On the top you get the sleep button that will deactivate the display. On the right side you get the volume buttons and the silence switch, interesting is that the buttons have been moved from left (iPhone) to the right. On the back you get the large black Apple logo in the middle of a big gray (aluminum?) mass. It also says iPad on the back, the number of GBs and a few FCC things that are required to be there I think. It's not impossible to assume that the new iPhone will feature a similar back. The tablet is really thin, in fact it's just 0.5 inch thick, that's as thick as an iPhone. Height and width measures come in at: 9.6 inches and 7.47 inch.

Now lets talk about the software of the iPad. It works very similar to an iPhone. Slide to unlock and you're in the main screen with the typical iPhone icons. You get: YouTube, mail, Safari, contacts, iPod, iTunes, app store, video, settings, maps (by Google!), calendar, photos and last but not least notes.

The apps have been modified a bit for the new capabilities though. For example photos are now arranged by event blocks. Tapping on a block of photos will show you a preview of the photos in that event (or map for windows users). However you can also view your most treasured memories by list, location, faces or date. We can imagine that it will look really fantastic to manipulate the photographs on a huge touchscreen and to show it to your friends.

Another app Steve Jobs showed extensively was the Safari app. The browsing experience exceeds the desktop experience because you can touch and flick through the pages. And unlike the iPhone you now see the full webpages.

The App store will transform this device into things Apple alone could never achieve. You can run all the iPhone applications on it in either full screen or 1:1, the latter being the actual resolution we're used to from out favorite smartphone. But in addition to running the iPhone apps, the iPad will also get its own apps. Developers can create programs for it and utilize its full potential. The things we've seen in the keynote, including software from EA, looked okay but not very impressive. In a few months some amazing piece of codes will come out for the tablet we're sure.

I have taken everything into consideration and a few things bug me as of now. Firstly does the iPad have flash support? The tablet is suppose to deliver the best browsing experience ever, but flash is a big part of the experience.

Another thing is the hardware. Apart from the case and the touchscreen things aren't looking good on paper. It has a quadcore 1ghz processor built in from Apple, a company not specialized in these chips. I have fears that this A4 processor might not be fast enough for the really interesting apps. Another downer is the lack of iSight camera. This thing would have been amazing for conferencing or instant messaging, an opportunity missed there. Other hardware figures are a mystery. Like how quick is the graphics chip? And how much system memory does it have to work with?

And last but not least I'm having a hard time giving the software my two thumbs up. I think it looks to much like the iPhone software. The iPad would have been a much stronger product if the software allowed some advanced things like video editing or the ability to access and store files in finder windows (or maps for windows users).

To conclude. The iPad looks amazing and with a price of EUR499 it will sell really well. But much like the first iPhone launch the iPad has some obvious shortcomings. It isn't really fast, has no webcam and on top of that the software is lacking premium computing features. With that said I might still get one if the experience is as amazing as Steve Jobs expressed during his presentation. Which knowing Apple will probably be the case.

Apple iPad preview.

MySpace Versus Facebook - A Short History

2010-11-18T12:56:00.000-08:00

Facebook is crazy popular right now. This wasn't always the case. When Facebook started, accounts were limited to students at a handful of Ivy League universities. The site was popular but of course enrollment limited so it didn't take on the global role that it does today. Facebook then extended accounts to all students at universities, and then all students at any institution of higher learning.
Still, MySpace was far more popular with users as recently as just a few years ago. This changed very quickly though. Facebook made the decision to open up membership to high schoolers, and finally to the general public. This move was first met with criticism, but we know how the rest of the story played out. Once membership became readily available, the number of accounts on the network skyrocketed, propelling the company to mega giant status.
This did not create backlash among the original users as people feared that it might, even though the site's former exclusivity was gone. Instead, it became even more popular and started the current Facebook craze. How does Facebook maintain its huge popularity, maintaining growth when it seems as if they couldn't possibly get any bigger? Several factors contribute:
Everyone is on it. Facebook's popularity has grown beyond imagining. Some time ago it passed the tipping point where the number of people with Facebook accounts was larger than the number of people who were not on Facebook.
If you aren't on Facebook, you aren't socially plugged in. Plus, Facebook links businesses and entrepreneurs with regular individuals in a way that other sites like MySpace do not. Facebook's commercial potential is huge, but still does not get in the way of user enjoyment.
The ads are livable. Sure, Facebook has ads and the ads get repetitive. But the quality of the ads on Facebook is far higher than the dreck that you see on sites like MySpace. Facebook also uses targeted advertising, which means that users see ads that have to do with their own interests and preferences. You may even see a new hobby or useful item that you need.
We love the games and apps. Facebook users can play games with one another or play solo games like Farmville and My Kitten. Games on Facebook keep users coming back and logging in * the more you play the games, the more benefit you get in the games like awards or higher levels and so on.

Mac Mini Vs Apple TV

2010-11-18T07:10:00.000-08:00

Whether a Mac mini or Apple TV is the best solution for a home cinema computer (HCPC or HTPC) is a common question asked by those looking for an all in one media playing solution. In this, the first of a two part article, we take a look at both units to try and answer this question.
Apple's Mac mini was introduced in January 2005, being described by Steve Jobs as the 'most affordable Mac ever'. It is a fully featured computer but is squeezed into a small form factor just 16.5 cm square by 5.1 cm high. The unit weighs just 1.31 kg.
There are two versions of the product available. The cheaper model has a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM and a 120GB 2.5" hard drive, while the more expensive model gets a 2.26 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive.
The most recent update to the Mac mini really helps its home cinema credentials with the unit getting the faster Core 2 Duo processors and nVidia GeForce 9400M graphics chipsets. The Mac mini also now features the Mini DisplayPort connection which allows the latest digital picture connections such as HDMI and DVI through one port. The wireless networking also sees an upgrade to the faster 802.11n specification. An integrated CD/DVD drive and external USB2 ports allow for the playback of media not stored on the internal hard drive.
The Apple TV is another small form factor device but is solely dedicated to the function of media play back. The specification consists of an Intel Mobile Pentium 1.0 GHz Crofton Processor, an nVidia GeForce Go 7300 graphics chipset, 256MB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. The casing is slightly bigger in size than the Mac mini at 1.97 cm square but is not as tall, measuring just 28mm high and weighing 1.09 kg. The Apple TV does not have a CD or DVD drive. The unit has the same 802.11n wireless specification as the mini.
The Mac mini and AppleTV are similar in the sense that they are both comparable in size, both have a remote control, a media browser interface, digital video connections and digital audio outputs. Both units also share software similarities in that they come with iTunes and Front Row, which allows simple navigation of media from the comfort of your armchair.
We have now covered both of the competing products specifications and the similarities between the two devices. In the next article we will look in more detail in the Apple TV vs Mac mini argument so see which unit is the most suitable as a home cinema computer.

Whether you're a home cinema expert or just starting out, we a hope a free Mac mini is all you need to get you going, both as a home media player and as an Apple Mac computer. You really do get two devices in one with the mini, and as an added bonus you get it all wrapped up in Apple's great styling.

How to Setup the New Boxee and Watch What You Want

2010-11-16T11:33:00.000-08:00

Ever wondered how the Boxee Box is Used? Keep Reading to Find Out Below
The Boxee Box by D-Link will be changing the way most people watch television. The days of high cable and satellite TV bills will be gone soon. Replaced by devices that let us watch what we want, when we want. Devices that let us organize our music, photos and recorded TV shows all in one handy spot are going to be the way of the future.
So where were we. That's right. I wanted to tell you about how to use the Boxee Box. It's really pretty simple, to tell you the truth. Let's start with the setup process.
I was actually very surprised when I found out just how easy it is to set up this particular piece of equipment. So many TV devices are complicated but this one wasn't. It's basically a five step process. Do not be afraid of this process at all, because about three of the things on this list you probably do a hundred or so times a day. I'm exaggerating a bit, but I bet you do them a lot. I sure know that I do.
A. The first step is this - take the Boxee Box out of the package that it was delivered to you in. (Side Note) If the unit is inside a box that is inside another box, please remove it from both. I bet I just confused you, but when you get your package from Amazon you'll know exactly what I mean.
B. The second step is - plug your Boxee into the outlet on the wall. Preferably one right next to your TV, unless of course you have a long extension cord you intend to use to plug it in.
C. The third step is - plug the wire coming from your Boxee Box into your TVs HDMI input. Since I don't know what kind of TV you own, I can't tell you exactly where yours is located, but once you find it, plug it in.
D. The fourth step is (and this could very well be the hardest part of the process) - Turn on your TV. That's right. I was just fooling around with you about this being a tough step to do. And like I said too, you probably do this like 10 million times a day. There I go with my exaggerations again. I kid because I love. Nothing more, nothing less.
E. And the last step is - Turn on your Boxee Box. Yes, you heard me right. So turn it on now please, before I start to get mad or something.
All joking aside, setting up and using your Boxee Box is really that simple. When you turn it on for the first time there will be certain things you need to do, but follow along with the on-screen instructions and all will be well. You have my word.
You and your family will be on their way to enjoying low cost family entertainment from the comfort of your own own and keep all those precious family memories organized and viewable.

IOS 4.2 Might Be the Answer to a Slow iPhone 3G

2010-11-16T02:51:00.001-08:00

Has your iPhone 3G been lagging ever since you upgraded it to iOS 4.0 or newer? Have you since, noticed your device unable to perform some of the old functions it used to? Have you noticed that some of your old apps are now freezing up and closing on you? The fix to this issue might not be that far away. This article will go through some of the potential changes that will help users be at ease when operating their device.
After many complaints and a filed lawsuit from iPhone 3G customers, Apple has decided to respond to the situation promptly. The fix to this issue is likely to come with the much anticipated iOS 4.2 release coming out very soon. There are several things that this update will do to affect your iPhone.
The first and most important change will likely be in the firmware of the device. The current firmware (iOS 4.0-4.1) treats all apple devices alike, not taking into account that the 3G has less than one half the computing power and performance as the 4. The major problem here is that the iOS platform creates an unsuitable working environment for the 3G users, causing freezes and frustrations with each command desired.
The second change will be software changes to the device. As before, some apps will be rated by model, being specific to indicate that a certain model will not perform optimally with the app. By doing this, RAM intensive apps will no longer run on old devices, preventing them from inevitable shutdown. The ability for a user to sift through apps that are specific for their device would be a huge improvement, allowing users to prevent bogging down their devices with battery, processor, and RAM unfriendly apps.
While most are still uncertain if any of the above will truly occur, there are many rumors about the beta versions of iOS 4.2 doing exactly what has been reiterated above. The projected date for this software/firmware release is November 2010. How late in November is still to be determined; however, the Apple website states that they are expecting the release this month.
There is still one major decision to be made for those 3G users that have downgraded their iPhone to OS 3.x or below: Will you update the device and potentially turn your iPhone into a lead weight, or will you take the leap and experience the features you have been waiting for all along.

Apple IOS 4.1 - Out With the Fart Apps - In With the DJ Apps

2010-11-16T02:36:00.000-08:00

With the release of iOS 4.1 for the iPhone, Apple have sent a clear message to developers: stop making crap apps, we don't need any more fart apps!
iOS 4.1 was released on the 8th September and is a free upgrade for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, and the second- and third-generation iPod Touch. The release fixes a number of bugs and glitches, and adds features including: improved photos, access to the Apple Game Store, and access to Ping, Apple's much-hyped new music social network.
In the new guidelines for developers, Apple have made it clear that they don't want any more 'crap apps'. The document even goes as far as saying that 'We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don't need any more fart apps.' It is claimed that the developer of the iFart app made a cool $40,000 dollars in two days when the app was first released. It now looks like those days are over.
For the musician or DJ, the most exciting thing about iOS 4.1 is that applications will now be allowed direct access to the iTunes library, something that has not previously been possible. This function comes to the iPhone with iOS 4.1 and will arrive at the iPad with iOS 4.2, which is scheduled for release in November. Allowing apps to have direct access to the iTunes library removes a huge barrier to the development of music and DJ apps on the iPhone and iPad. It is surely now only a matter of time before we see fully functioning DJ apps that have all the same features as professional DJ software such as Traktor Pro.
So would you swap your fart app for a DJ app?
Maybe one day soon, DJs will just take two iPads to their gigs, instead of two CDJ decks or turntables... It is an exciting time for digital music. Watch this space!

Keep up to date with all the latest iPad DJ apps at http://www.cd-dj.net/, the new online resource for the digital DJ.

About George Soros

2010-11-15T14:28:00.001-08:00

Soros is known to have high ability in speculating on currency trading. In 1982, in a short time Soros managed to reap a profit 1.2 billion dollars in pound sterling currency trading. As a result, some of the UK economy is destroyed. He also dubbed as "the man that destroyed the Pound" (The Man Who Broke the Pound). In mid 1997, the economy of South East Asian countries, including Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, shaken great because all of a sudden the price of high-dollar exchange rate soared. Thousands of companies went bankrupt and millions of people became unemployed.
Although many factors that led to this crisis, but one of the main reasons is the behavior of foreign currency speculators who had bought up American dollars, then sell at high prices so that the value of the currency that the ASEAN countries slumped. Speculators are the biggest money in the crisis era is George Soros.
Bankruptcy various industries in the ASEAN countries were then exploited by western capitalists to buy shares in these countries with cheap price. As a result, most companies are now important in Indonesia are owned by foreign businessmen. In 2000, George Soros reportedly has a stake in PT AGIS in Indonesia by 10 percent and several other companies, including Astra International.
Later, to remove the bad image of himself, through a network foundation that has, Soros was trying to set aside some of the wealth gained from speculation activities to help overcome the effects of 'global financial market system failure' against poor countries. Soros always show the organization he leads it as an organization that acts of humanity in various parts of the world. Soros also traveled to various corners of the world and deliver speeches with regard to democracy and freedom. According to Western mass media, the Soros Foundation has spent $ 4.2 billion dollars to help the needy people in various parts of the world.
However, aid is not channeled through the UN on the grounds that Soros did not trust the UN. Therefore, many political observers believe that the pace of the Soros Foundation to deliver help directly is to spread the influence and infiltration in these areas who were given assistance. In 1997, a scientist Bosnia mengungapkan that in Bosnia, Soros is considered a hero by the community in part of this Muslim country. The reason is because during the Bosnian War, Soros poured a lot of financial assistance to the people of Bosnia. Then, after the war, Soros funded a variety of publishing media in the country. The media published that contains many photos of immoral and disseminate ideas of freedom and secularism.
President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, the Economic Summit in Davos, Switzerland, last year, said that the world's financial institutions, including financial institutions owned by Soros, is a cause of crisis in his country. Brazilian President deserved anger against Soros. Other People's Brazil was also angry with the Soros because his words that pertain to their hearts in Sao Paolo magazine. Soros said,
In a capitalist economic system, the head of state of the world's heads of state are determined by the U.S.. In Brazil's elections, candidates who oppose our policies, should not be elected. In fact, Brazil is not the people that voted. If there are other candidates elected, Brazil will face great economic crisis. The U.S. now is like Rome in ancient times, which is the regime the only one who has the right to speak.
But strangely, although it acts as a source of financial crises in various countries and managed to rake in billions of dollars from the crisis, Soros was actively writing scientific books about the world economy.
