Shreya Ghoshal ones again proved herself to be the finest playback singer in Indian film industry. This is the 4Th time she bagged the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer 2009, but this time it is little bit different because she won it for two regional songs, one in Marathi (Jiv Dangla-Jogwa) and other in Bengali (Pherari Mon-Antaheen)

She is basically a Bengali born girl but brought up in Rajastan. During her childhood she took training in Hindustani Music. She started her singing career with famous Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma children's special music show. As a part of that show she shifted her home to Mumbai. Her first hit hindi songs was from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's classic movie Devadas and become one of the best female voice of Bollywood. After that she never need to look back,she worked with so many great musicians like A.R.Rahman, Pritam, Anu Malik, Nadeem-Shravan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Ilayaraja, Himesh Reshammiya and lots more. Now a days she spread her career to so many regional languages such as Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, Bhojpuri etc. She take part in various reality music shows as mentor and the latest one is the music show "Music Ka Maha Muqqabla" hosted by Star Plus.

Bengali movie "Antaheen" got the best national film award for the year 2008. Rahul bose and sharmila tagore starring in "Antaheen". Moreover this movie got awards for cinematography, lyrics and female playback singer.

Marathi actor Upendra Limaye won Best Actor for "Jogva" and Priyaaka chopra won the best actress award for the performance in the film "fashion" directed by Madhur bhandarkar.

"Just won the National award for fashion!!!!! Aaaaaaaahhhh!!! Too excited!! God is kind and so r all of u!! Love yalll!!!!!," read Chopra's exitement in twitter.

Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) makes Indian Film Industry happy

Indian billion-plus film industry cheers due to the announcement of Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) that commonly-used film screening arrangements in the country are not a 'taxable service'. CBSE said that theatre Owners should only pay service tax for getting fixed rents for leasing their premises to Film distributors. “Screening of movies in a theatre is not a specified taxable service. However, the wide scope of business support service was resulting in interpretational disputes. The present clarification puts to rest all the disputes and is a welcome one for the entertainment industry,” said by Bipin Sapra who is the associate director of Ernst & Young.

Excise Duty Lowered

India Government cuts excise duty and service tax to 2% in order to protect the bad impact of Global financial Crises. Government announced that they reduced service tax to 10% from 12% for all service industry. Excise duty is lowered to 8% from 10% and it is very helpful to the Indian cement makers. In Indian Stock marketing, Cement firms up on excise duty cut. It is a good news to see Indian Sensex bounces back on short-covering due to this excise duty cut.

Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee announced this decision to lowering excise duty and tax payable to service industry in response to the debate on the 2009/10 union budget. But exact picture of the status of Indian economy will known only after election. May be this UPA governments decision will be beneficial to Indian economy.

Today It was a shocking news that Vetaran Tamil and malayalam Actor Raghuvaran Passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to a private hospital for having health problem due to his heavy smoking. He had acted more than 100 films and was a great actor. He had got Tamil Nadu Government's Kalaimamani and best character artiste awards. He had also acted in Hindi film Shiva.

Raghuvaran originally from palakkad got divorced from Rohini and was survived a lot due to his diseases. Raghuvaran's last film is in tamil named "Sila Nerangalil".

Wardrobe malfunction at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

After the 2006 incident of Carol Gracias wardrobe malfunction on the ramp, now it happened to a German model named Debbie at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. This time this wardrobe malfunction happened when Debbie was walking through the ramp wearing a blue and black outfit with cowl neck designed by Rajesh Pratap Singh. The dress slipped down from her left shoulder showing her naked breast to the viewers, but all of a sudden she maintained her calmness and pulled it back over her shoulder.

For past two years she has been in the modeling profession and this is the first time such an incident has happened to her. Though this is a hard heartened incident to someone she said “It happens. I can’t do anything about it.” and also said she will participate with other five more shows at the WIFW in Delhi.

As this is a part of glamour world other designers reacted that too much important should not be given to this wardrobe malfunction. But one sad thing is that media is giving wide publicity to this as part of entertainment. Most of the news channels are showing up this incident repeatedly again and again and also conducting heated discussions over it. Tomorrow definitely this wardrobe malfunction will be hot news for some newspapers too…..

Any way fashion world is showing mixed reactions to this wardrobe malfunction. Some had the view that it happened accidently…..but some had the opinion that it was done deliberately to attract publicity…..What ever it may……. this kind of shows and it related news even as a part of glamour world should not be given much importance as part of entertainment by the channels….especially news channels.
