AAMIR KHAN, undoubtedly is an excellent actor and has proved the same in his numerous movies. Besides being a fine actor, Aamir has also tried his hands in direction with Taare Zameen Par in the year 2007. For Taare Zameen Par, Aamir received critical acclaim world wide and the movie remained a commercial success as well.
Taare Zameen Par has been selected as India’s official entry for Oscars scheduled in February 2009. Aamir and his crew members are highly optimistic about winning the Academy Awards this time. In addition, the countrymen are also hopfull that Taare Zameen Par will fetch the first Oscar for the country.

However, the veteran actor cum director is recently in buzz for his new look for the upcoming movie Ghajini. Aamir shaved his head for the role in Ghajini and his hair style has already become popular among country’s youth. And now the new surprise for Aamir’s fans is that the actor would take off his shirt to reveal his eight-pack abs.

Famous as a ‘Mr Perfectionist’, Aamir worked hard to get into the character of Ghajini. Aamir’s role in the movie Ghajini, which is a remake of Tamil super hit movie, required a muscular body. He followed a rigid worked out schedule to get his eight-pack abs. Aamir had also performed lots of dangerous stunts in this action thriller film injuring himself twice during its shooting.

After months of sweating out and running down the treadmill, the actor finally got eight-pack abs. But he is not satisfied with his eight-pack abs and the muscular body he had built for the movie. In an interview with a private radio channel, the actor said that he could have done better. Due to promotional work for Taare Zameen Par, his exercise discontinued for one and half month and he could not achieve what he was actually expecting.

When asked whether he was looking for 10 or more abs, Aamir replied affirmatively, “I had continued my exercise, developing 10 or 12 abs was not impossible.

He was highly excited about his new chiseled body and said the cine-goers will like it. In fact, the perfectionist always try to adorn a new look in every movie. Especially he does lots of experiment with his hair style. In Ghajini, he flaunts a new hair style, tiny in length with cut mark.

Ghajini is scheduled to release in the month of December. Shahrukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is also set to release on December 12. With eight pack abs, Aamir would certainly wish to surpass the sensation created by Shahrukh in Om Shanti Om with six pack abs. Shahrukh’s six pack abs in Om Shanti Om provided runaway success to the movie.

Let us see, how much the viewers will like Aamir in his new avatar. Aamir’s past record signals that in Ghajini too the eight pack abs will cast magical affect among the spectators. Besides, his unique hair style will provide more popularity to the movie.

Here's a review on Ghajini, please proceed, none of the plot will be revealed, whatsoever.

With Aamir Khan in the lead and the celebrated eight packs and the build-up promos with Khan v/s Khan duels, this Ghajini had accrued considerable amount of hype. The hype reaching its peak with the producer of the Tamil version suing the producer of the Hindi version for copyright violation. Unlike many other movies with such inflated hype, I must admit this movie fails to disappoint.

The present Ghajini till its intermission has replicated the Tamil version in its truest form and sense; in whatever little places the movie has differed from its original it has been for the better. Most of the memorable scenes from the original are retained, thankfully, without an iota of attempt to modify. Full marks to the makers for that. This episode of the movie till the intermission is easily the liveliest stretch. I had opined in my earlier review that I would not write negative comments about Asin; but this time around I am unable to find a single flaw in her performance. I liked her and her role in this movie so much it can be an antidote for her role in Dasavatharam. My non-tamil friends with whom I watched this movie gave some comments on Asin of which I am repeating two. One, after her introductory song, "She is a chick looking girl"; Two, after her first scene with Aamir Khan, "She is expressive, the chick can act". All through, if there was one clap-winner in the movie, it was Asin. Deservedly so.

Everyone, including the director A R Murugadoss, said the climax of the Tamil Ghajini actually a no-climax and one which spoiled the entire movie. This time around the second half and the climax of the movie has been changed drastically to eliminate the feeling of bungling which happened earlier. I must say the director has succeeded in making the audience not feeling let down after an impressive first half. Most movies would have ended after the 'climax fight'; here the movie carries on to show further things which to me was the icing on the cake and to my friends it appeared like a drag. How much of these praises should go to Aamir Khan and how much to A R Murugadoss are left for arguments.

There is no Ghajini without Aamir Khan. Aamir would have been on screen for at least 95% of the movie and he has carried it so well that only superstars can do. Macho body, impressive acting, charming face, style - a treat to watch. If Tamil cinema has Kamal Hasan, Hindi has Aamir Khan. He has put in efforts and the results are there on the screen. It surely is one of his very different and noteworthy performances, but I still prefer Aamir Khan in a Lagaan or a Dil Chahta Hai over Ghajini. But one thing, just like Kamal Hasan, I can see Aamir Khan ageing - a non-missable fact from the close-up shots of the stylish CEO Sanjay Singhania.

With so much positives over the original version, I feel there is one area where the Tamil Ghajini scores over its Hindi counterpart: songs. I feel the Tamil songs (and tunes) composed by Harris Jeyaraj were much superior to the ones in the latest release. This is not to say the songs of Hindi Ghajini are bad, but they are comparatively.

Does this movie have only positives? Obviously not, there were lots of gaps in logic which only an Indian mind can digest. I am not going to spoil the fun by pointing out each of those. But errrr, some of those: an empty Mumbai-Goa second class compartment; 3 BMWs escorting the BMW in which a travels, always; a villain who kills multiple dons on surmise and who does not kill the actual threat but 'cleans up' his memories. This list is definitely indicative. Though needed for the story, the violence in the movie is on the higher side and is literally gory. I wonder why Jiah khan got the role which she played in the movie, her apathetic acting was showcased in the presence of Aamir and Asin. Reyaas Khan as Inspector was funny, a better choice could have been made there as well.

Whenever a movie is a re-make of another, comparison with the original is inevitable and this Hindi Ghajini scores over the Tamil version in most departments: Aamir better than Surya, Asin (Hindi) better than Asin (Tamil), climax (Hindi) much better than Climax (Tamil). There should not be any comparison of this movie with 'Memento' (which according to me is the best screenplay in a movie) as the story line is thoroughly different, the common thread is just the ...errr....ya..'short term memory loss'.

Overall, this is a good movie - a worthy watch in a theatre inspite of its logical gaps. Treat this as a superhero movie interspersed with cherishable episodes of romance, music and 'memories'.

The dress has dominated womenswear for years - from red-carpet gowns to everyday tunics, shifts and wraps. But at New York Fashion Week last week, Marc Jacobs signalled a shift when he presented skirts as the biggest trend so far for spring/summer 2009. And for once in fashion, it seems that the high street may be ahead of the catwalk.

'Our skirt sales are up 120 per cent year on year,' said Emma Wisden, buying director for Topshop. 'We haven't had a big skirt trend for five years, but now we are taking huge money on them.'

Wisden said that sales of skirts have been strong since Easter, with an increase in wild and voluminous styles. 'We've got the key volume shapes like the short ra-ra or the lantern,' she said. 'Women are wearing them like a replacement to a ballet skirt, with a tight top and leggings, and all the volume in the skirt.'

Wisden described the type of customer buying the new style as 'a girl who's a bit more savvy; she wants to look different, not the same as someone next to her in the pub. With separates you can do that.'

The shift signals an end of the ladylike trend, in which dresses once seen as prim became an acceptable part of the wardrobe. 'Dresses are over,' said Melanie Rickey, fashion features editor of Grazia. 'Fashion needs to change. Now it's all about separates. Everyone in our office is pulling on skirts and trying to work out what goes with them.' Fear of this need to co-ordinate is a reason why the dress has lingered so long, according to some commentators. 'The dress has dominated fashion with good reason,' says Harriet Quick, fashion features director of Vogue. 'One piece, and you are ready to go. It means that skirts have been on the backburner. But next season is pointing towards a romantic skirt like those at Marc Jacobs, with tiers and flounces.'

Jacobs matched his calf-length skirts, which were often in metallic fabric, with exuberantly clashing plaid and gingham shirts, the waists sometimes wrapped in yet another shimmering fabric to heighten the contrast. The collection was hailed as the best show of the week, with influential trade paper WWD ending its review with the words, 'if I were another designer in New York, I'd slit my wrists'.

Jacobs showed that rather than being rigid about co-ordination, the new skirt should be worn as a purposeful clash to create an individual outfit. It is the sort of style being championed by celebrities like Pixie Geldof and Alexa Chung.

Other designers in New York also focused on the skirt, particularly British designer Jonathan Saunders, who opened his show with a series of neat jackets worn with short but voluminous skirts. 'Saunders made a big case for the fluid style that was draped above the knee, married with military tailoring,' said Quick.

Although fashion is speedy to grab new trends, the ones they replace tend to fade slowly. Dresses were still in evidence at the New York shows, with some labels focusing heavily on them. Marchesa has become known for its Hollywood-friendly gowns, which is apt since its British-born co-designer, Georgina Chapman, is married to movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Also debuting was Victoria Beckham's range of dresses, which surprised many with their quality, even if they did remind most of Roland Mouret, whose backer, Simon Fuller, happens to be Beckham's manager.

The spotlight shifts to London, where the shows begin today, before moving on to Milan. But the message from New York was best put by Jacobs. At the end of his show, as if making a nod to his own trend, he took his bow wearing a kilt.

I get fed up with all those so-called fashion gurus who say that because J-Lo isn't wearing them any more, that means low-waist jeans are out of fashion. When does J-Lo determine what I wear. Low-waist jeans are one style of jeans along with the mid-waist and high-up 'cover your all' jeans. They are appropriate for different people, on different occasions, in different seasons.

I don't need convincing, Crazy Age Jeans ROCK! They are low-waist and they are here to stay. Capish!
